Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness Ferndown is truly phenomenal. Whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer, a class-taking enthusiast or an anxious person like me, there is something for everyone here. The premises is spacious and cool, with plenty of state of the art machines so you’ll rarely find yourself queuing to use one! The parking facilities are generous (as are the lockers), and the changing rooms are flawless - when I first saw them, I felt like I was staying at a luxurious spa! There’s a free water refill station, free fruit on Fridays and two vending machines packed full of nutritional goodies at a generous price. The Ice Blast and Blue Raspberry Protein isolate drinks are a personal favourite of mine, so naturally I’ve got to give them a shout out! There are two separate rooms for classes, with one focusing on spinning and another for varied classes. The timetable is full and varied - from Yoga to Body Combat (and a personal favourite, Dancersize!) to RIG Circuits, you’re spoiled for choice. Everyone is welcome to attend as many classes as they like, with no additional charge, and you can go at your own pace with them too so if something is a bit strenuous you can take a breather! If you find yourself in the gym after staffing hours (between 8am - 8pm most days), you can take advantage of the many virtual classes which are in abundance and extremely fun if you want to try something out before diving into a class with others! Speaking of other patrons, everyone here is extremely friendly. AF Ferndown definitely has a community feel about it, and the age and gender range is well balanced. Before attending AF, I had always felt extremely self conscious about exercising in front of others, thinking, “what if I’m doing it wrong and I look silly?” - immediately my anxieties were put to ease with the support of staff and others. The induction taken before commencing your membership is thorough, but naturally as humans we do forget things, or approach a new machine that we don’t quite know how to use! Staff are always on hand to help, or outside these hours, QR codes attached to the machines demonstrate how to use them. The plethora of machines available to patrons - such as the ellipticals, treadmills and stair climbers - feature screens so you can undertake a specific workout (such as hiking through a desert canyon), watch Netflix, YouTube or television, or browse the news, and there’s wired and wireless options available to listen to these. Coupled with those machines, you can save your workouts to the two applications you’ll most likely download on your phone. The AF applications allow you to record your workouts, set goals and book classes. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m still finding new things on the app! As someone from a low-income background, working part-time on minimum wage and studying, it can be hard to make ends meet at times, let alone afford a gym membership on top of the bills! AF is truly like no other - they recognise that health isn’t a “luxury purchase”, and should be accessible to all, at any time of the day (thank you for the 24/7 opening!!! ‍♀️) and with that, provide a financially sustainable membership for both the patron and the business. If you wish to cancel, the process is simple. As always, the staff don’t try to sell you PT sessions or try to pull you back into a membership - they understand that everyone has changing circumstances, and will proceed without issue. My partner cancelled after almost a year at AF due to undertaking further education overseas, and the procedure was sorted in minutes. They even went the extra mile to congratulate her on her Masters, not out of formality but because the staff here genuinely care for patrons. They’re the pride of Anytime Fitness, and even though I don’t see them too much (due to studies and work I often train at odd times of the night!), when I do come in on my day off, I am always welcomed, remembered and asked about how my football endeavours are going! All of the staff and instructors here are incredible. Thank YOU!!!! ❤️

Fantastic experience: Good gym, large and spacious inside with multiple squat racks and weights so there's always something available. Always clean even in unsociable hours. Never used any of their services e.g. pt or classes so can't comment on those.

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic Gym the staff are friendly and very professional. The gym is always clean and have a great mixture of equipment they run great classes with a fabulous booking system, nothing is too much trouble and always there to help.I highly recommend this gym whether you are a beginner in the gym or a more advanced gym user.

Negative experience: Been a long term member, tried cancelling my Membership as they wanted to increase it by £7 a month which definitely is not worth the increase. Gave over a months notice to leave and they carried on taking more payments, even though my agreement states after 12 moths I can cancel my membership at anytime. As well as it’s a open secret that some of the staff members are inappropriate with female members

Fantastic experience: Me & my husband have been at this gym for a year now and having struggled with fitness, have felt comfortable and encouraged to continue as much as I could, especially by staff member Eddo, who is also a PT and great at his work. He makes it fun at the gym, whilst remaining professional and supportive when needed. Staff member Ben is great also and always at hand when you have a query or issue or just wants quick chat. The facilities are good, with an upstairs area for changing, showering and sorting yourself out, with hairdryers and straighteners for those who want to use them. Plenty of equipment to chose from and alternate between whilst training and numerous classes to select through the week.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for a year here and very happy. Lovely clean gym, well-run with conscientious staff and generally well-mannered gym goers. Good range of cardio and weights equipment. Clean air conditioned studio with live and pre recorded fitness routines.

Fantastic experience: Eddo and Ben are always very supportive and friendly as is Dale. When I go to the gym now it feels like I'm going to see friends. That is such a huge compliment compared to other gyms I have been to previously!

Fantastic experience: I joined AF Ferndown about three months ago and am enjoying this gym. All of the staff are lovely. I had a free PT with Eddo and have since signed up to sessions which I am really enjoying. Although it can get busy around peak times there are lots of machines and mat space etc so you can always find your own corner. They have a wide range of classes and a separate spin studio. The gym floor is always clean and tidy, the toilets and shower facilities well maintained also. Upstairs they have a nice area with hairdryers and straighteners. It's a very welcoming place and as a gym newbie I'm really enjoying being a member.

Negative experience: Today I needed to be in ferndown and thought I would use the gym being a member of poole anytime. I went to put my bag in the locker and was approached by a member of staff, who asked was I a member there. I told the staff member I was a member at poole, I was then told I had to be a member for more than 30days to use the facility and couldn’t be on a rolling contract. I had already told him I had been a member at poole from 2016. Staff are not friendly at all, can I train here? Yes, but given the attitude I walked out

Positive experience: My regular gym. I like it. Bathrooms are clean and the place is generally maintained to a good standard. Could do with a few more cables as there's often a queue. Music is dull as hell, so bring headphones. Clientèle are nice and keep themselves to themselves. No unwanted "advice". Update March 2023: Music still sucks and there's still only 3 cables. I've been going to Poole as there's 8 cables and more machines. Gotta love having access to all the gyms with one membership!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for just over a year so far and have found anytime fitness in Ferndown to be a great place to train. The equipment is of a good standard and is in good repair. The gym and it’s changing rooms and toilets are always very clean and tidy. I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful in all matters as well. Phil and the team have only ever made me feel welcome, and to be fair the staff at all the other anytime fitness gyms I have been to have been great as well. I travel all over the country and have now visited at least half a dozen other anytime fitness gyms and Ferndown beats them all for size, amount of kit and general cleanliness. There have been some adverse reviews regarding membership cancellations but as I’m not going to cancel my membership anytime soon I cannot comment on that process. Any review is never as good as going to look for yourself so if your looking for a gym to join in, or near Ferndown then go and take a look and make up your own mind.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Anytime Fitness Ferndown based upon the supportive team members and the amazing facility. Joining a gym for some people can be quite an intimidating experience, and the Manager, Eddo in particular went out of his way with me (and subsequently others) to reassure and inspire me into joining the club. From joining they helped me set goals and sustain a routine to achieve my personal targets on improved health. I would strongly advise anyone to make an appointment to visit this gym and judge for yourself.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend this place, most members I’ve spoke to including myself only opt to go here as there’s no real alternatives in the area. The staff from the manager down are ignorant and unwelcoming and seem to flock like sheep towards any woman with a pair of leggings on. I know of multiple female members including one from my own family that has left due to how inappropriate they act. There’s not a nice vibe off of the place atall. The machines aren’t maintained and as a result are stiff and rusty. The people they employ don’t seem to know the first thing about PT or exercise science, evident by the ridiculous training they provide and their constant pushing of that pyramid scheme ‘Herbalife’ rubbish that Edo is always pushing. They seem to just be a bunch of lads with an arrogant attitude similar to that of the managers, who take a lazy and uneducated approach to both their customer service and the training they provide. If any other chain gym opened up in this area this place would go under fast, no doubt about it.

Fantastic experience: This gym is the best one I have ever been to. I always feel welcome and am greeted warmly by the staff. I don't understand the negative reviews at all. Philip and his team are great. Don't hesitate to join.

Negative experience: The space and equipment is good, but the way this gym treats it’s members is disgusting. There are at least 5 female members which I know myself that have said one particular staff member, eddo, made them feel extremely uncomfortable by constantly harassing them and asking them out on dates. Furthermore the management is not willing to hold their staff accountable and would rather pass the blame on to members. This has resulted in these woman leaving the facility, and the gym will not ensure the wellbeing of its members. If you do decide to leave this gym, You will be hit with numerous “fees” Which basically is just the management getting every penny out of you they can before you leave. Numerous members have had to pay HUNDREDS of pounds ever after leaving the facility with threats of debt collection etc… PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE POSITIVE REVIEWS! a quick glance at the reviews on here and 1 is from PHILLIP TODD! Who fails to mention in his review that he is the manager at this facility ! STAY AWAY THERE IS PLENTY OF GREAT GYMS THAT CARE ABOUT ITS MEMBERS IN THE AREA !

Negative experience: Wish I could give 0 stars , tried to cancel my membership and got constant emails about being in arrears and late fees, it’s cost me almost £200 to cancel my membership altogether. The way they treat long term customers is appalling, management is awful, staff get away with far too much. Definitely won’t be returning, or recommending to anyone.

Negative experience: I would give 0 stars if possible. Service was atrocious. Gave over a month notice to leave and suddenly am hit with another fee with a late payment fee on top threatening with legal action for one months payment. Its embarrassing! I have been a loyal member for a long time so am utterly disgraced with how I have been treated. Never setting foot in anytime anymore.

Negative experience: Without a doubt the worst gym I have ever been to. They offer promotions for new members, but treat existing members terribly. They also ignore any attempt to cancel your membership, and then attempt to charge you for extra months.

Negative experience: Nice gym space but sadly the staff make it so difficult to cancel your membership. I have been trying for months and they eventually agreed to a freeze. Now, after giving the required 1 month's notice to terminate I'm having to pay for an additional month. I have never had this experience with gyms in the past. I won't be recommending this one to friends/colleagues.

Fantastic experience: Brand new state of the art equipment. Pristine changerooms and beautiful decor. Modern, well lit, ultra clean . Loads of easily accessible parking

Positive experience: Great club, highly recommended, very friendly staff and safe. Loads of space and plenty of machines and free weights. Plenty of showers which are out of the way upstairs. Never had an issue, even at busy times getting to use the equipment.

Negative experience: Tried to cancel my membership a month ago since I moved away. They replied to every email quickly until I sent over my tenancy agreement proving that I had moved away. I chased this up a few times over the course of a month trying to make sure this was resolved. I have now been charged for another month plus a late payment fee. Very poor and unprofessional service. Their excuse was that my emails were missed because they were to busy, this seems very convenient. They managed to find these emails rather easily and when the dates proved I had given my 1 months notice I was advised I would still have to pay an additional month. I’m glad I took my business elsewhere because anytime fitness is anything but competent.

Positive experience: Plenty of Parking Spaces in the Car Park. Due to COVID, some equipment has been removed but there is adequate equipment for your gym routine. There are plenty of cleaning stations to clean the equipment after use and there are floor markers to ensure you keep your social distance!
