Fantastic experience: Nice clean gym. Plenty of equipment but good space to move around. Staff very happy and easy to talk to. Large number of lockers. I bring a small lock as I leave my wallet in the locker. Opens early in the morning at 6am so it does not eat into my day. Wide range of sessions available depending on your subscription.

Negative experience: Awful gym. Didn’t accept for me to buy a day pass and asked me to leave without even letting me pay. No one on the door as I walked in . Rude members of staff . Feel honestly threatened

Positive experience: I have been a member for roughly 2 weeks and I am really enjoying it. I try to go 2 to 3 times a week. And I usually use the treadmill, the rowing machine, and the cycling machine. The staff are very friendly, approachable and informative and knowledgeable. The only thing I would say is that sometimes if they do not know something they will tell you that they will find out and leave without making it clear if they are finding out now or if it’s best for you to come back later. For example, I tried to log in to the cycling machine and the machine froze. But I didn’t want to just leave it so I told a member of staff who was messaging his manager, but then said that he would be right back, but I was unsure where he had gone, or how long I would have to wait. Not a huge issue, but I was left a bit confused. I am still very keen to keep coming back to the gym for more

Fantastic experience: I joined energie fitness a few months ago. The gym has a wonderful vibe, it is very friendly and all the staff are extremely helpful and professional. Special mention must go to Hayley Wheaton who is my personal trainer. She is a complete inspiration and has got me to a fitness level I never thought possible in a relatively short time. Her knowledge is outstanding and she is constantly monitoring my technique so that I am getting maximum benefit from each excercise. Dan and Kate are also amazing, very encouraging and always ready to help and advise. I would urge anyone to join this gym, it gets five stars from me. Tracy Partridge

Negative experience: Friendly staff, decent equipment but over crowded usually. If you want to pause your membership you have to pay for a extra month that you won't use, you can only cancel in store and if you cancel your payment, they charge you a extra 2 months membership, increasing every day that you don't pay. Extremely unfriendly people will call you every day threatening court action and fines. DO NOT give these people your money!
Hi Chris, I am sorry that you have had this experience. We do not charge members an extra month if you wish to freeze your membership, we only request an email or phone call and action a freeze immediately without any cost to yourself. If you cancel your direct debit without letting us know, the direct debit collection company may charge £20 as an admin fee for missed payment. We do not call any members threatening court actions or fines, nor do we use debt collection agencies. If you could provide me details if your issue and membership I can have it looked into for you and can get this issue resolved. Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. Positive experience: Great variety of classes and some excellent instructors. Can often do back to back classes in the morning which is good. The cleanliness used to be a bit of an issue but has improved a bit of late and equipment can need replacing long before it is. I guess that’s the price you pay for cheap gym membership. But it IS cheap gym membership, which is why I’ve been going for years.

Fantastic experience: This is a great little gym. There is plenty of decent equipment, not necessarily every piece of equipment you would find in a bodybuilding gym but you can still do some nice strength training. The gym floor and machinery are very clean and the changing rooms are kept very tidy, there is always toilet paper and hand-wash, they have nice normal padlock style lockers too. The gym members are super friendly people. This gym has a great vibe and I would highly recommend it.

Negative experience: Shut down for COVID - but did not stop charging the money. "Online gym" - you must be kidding me!
Hi Alex, Thanks for your feedback. We would like to explain what has happened. As you know, when payments are in process with Harlands we cannot change them for 5 days. So if members payments are due now, the payment process is locked in. This is completely out of our control and poor timing with the government announcement, which we have no control over. As stated in the email, we can freeze if your payment is not in the process. Alternatively, we can credit this to a members account when we re open. We have tried to communicate this to every member via email. In addition, we are also providing a vast online offering for those wanting to participate in classes including yoga, pilates, dance , circuits, cycling, HiiT, dumbell workouts, just to list a few. Please contact the gym, [email protected]. We can easily sort the credit for you for our opening months. We apologise, but the government announcement has come suddenly, right in the middle of the beginning of the month direct debit cycle. In addition, we are offering a PT session for members who do suport us during the 4 week lockdown. This exceeds the value of one month membership. We have really tried to do the right thing in very difficult circumstances for everyone. Just like in the previous lockdown we froze and credited any time missed. Please contact the gym so this can be sorted for you.
Fantastic experience: Gym is good. I've been going for a few months now as I moved areas from Enfield. The equipment is decent. They could do with some more freewwights benches and plates because the gym gets very busy during peak times and I'd say overcrowded. Deffo too many members for that exact time. But if you can train at off peak times like myself it's perfect. Staff are nice. Water fountain comes in real handy for me as I always forget water haha. So all in all a solid gym. Only real thing I'd say is opening time could be a bit more flexible. I work shifts and I find it hard to attend some days due to the early close times.if it wasn't a 2 minute walk from my house I'd go to a 24 hour gym but can't have it all I guess lol. 7/10 overall

Positive experience: Good gym with a good selection of equipment. It's really split into three areas, a free weight area a cardio area and a good selection of weight machines. Classes can be taken in the studio area on the floor above. I prefer going early mornings in the week as it can get busy after work hours. Staff are always friendly and the changing rooms are equipped with showers and lockers that you lock with your own padlock. Overall it has enough space and equipment to perform a good daily workout.
