Based in Swadlincote, five miles from Burton town centre our aim at Shredz Fitness Centre is to help you achieve your goals and become the best version of yourself. We offer support for all our members, and personal training, nutritional advice and supplements are available to purchase at reception, including pre, intra and post workout. Our vast variety of equipment means we can cater for all, whether you’re looking to improve general health and fitness, lose weight or build muscle. We’re also ideal if you’re a power lifter or a competitive bodybuilder. If you fancy a change of scenery from your usual gym or are passing through the area, you can purchase a day passes are £7. We’ve got qualified personal trainers and online coaches who will work with you to put together a personalised training and diet plan. Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle or improve general fitness, our staff will do what they can to help you achieve your goals.
We’re always updating the gym with new equipment to make sure our members have access to some of the best kit in the UK! Over the last few months we’ve installed a full set of new Jordan dumbbells up to 75kg, a Freemotion Incline Trainer + Coach Bike and a Nautilus Freedom Trainer. Positive experience: Nice gym. Clean changing rooms. But very very cold, the room is not heated at all, all the staff are dressed warmly. Even if you have a powerful workout you will freeze. Please dress warmly.
Hi, thanks for your feedback. We have heating on throughout the winter but unfortunately with such a big open space it is extremely hard to heat up the building. We always remind our members to wrap up warm and only take layers off once they have warmed up :)

Negative experience: It's freezing in the gym no heating on at all.some of the staff are even wearing coats.
Thanks for your review, we have had our heating on all week but due to extremely cold temperatures outside, the gym will always feel slightly cold this time of year. We would advise wearing extra layers whilst warming up :)
Fantastic experience: The best gym! All the equipment is hand picked and covers everything you would need… and more! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful. The owners are also so welcoming, the best gym in the UK hands down!

Fantastic experience: Great equipment for training and variety of kit is top tier. Motivating place with bodybuilding imagery and trophys everywhere. Only went on a guest fee due to being over half hour away but if closer would join no doubt.

Fantastic experience: I have visited many gyms around the world and have to say this gym ticks all the right boxes for me. The kit has clearly been handpicked which shows the guys in charge know what a quality gym needs to help us reach our physique goals. The environment is fantastic, plenty of banter and Its good to see the team of trainers down there passionate about there work! Keep up the good work shredz!!!

Fantastic experience: Had a very enjoyable session here today. The place was tidy and clean. They gave everyone a sweat towel and disinfectant on entry. Really great range of equipment and also female friendly which was great for me would visit again when in the area to see friends and family.

Negative experience: In normal times, this is a good gym. In Covid times - avoid. They don’t enforce distancing even among their staff, they have a capacity limit which was worked out via the footprint of the building, NOT the actual useable area, there are no screens around the reception (so if the receptionist has something, you’ll get it too) and they use a terrible account management firm who won’t provide proof of contracts and hound you for money. If you’re happy to risk catching Covid and don’t mind people badgering you for money they can’t prove you owe, go here.
Hi Matt, thanks for your review. We have made many changes, over the previous months to ensure gym users feel safe and not at risk from Covid-19. The capacity limit was worked out using the gym area only, to ensure members have the space to social distance. We have hand sanitiser on arrival at the front door, as well as hand sanitiser on reception and at several points around the gym. Cloths and anti bacterial sprays are given to each member as they enter, and are reminded by staff to clean down equipment before and after use and our staff also routinely wipe down all touch points. After your phone call, we reminded all our staff about the importance of social distancing. Due to our large reception bar that is over 1 meter, we felt a screen on reception was not necessary. We will continue to do our best to make the gym a safe environment for all members and can only apologise for your negative experience. Kind Regards Shredz

Positive experience: Lovely gym good environment,staff rude,I went one time and,lady who doest works their was so much nicer to me than any of the staff,she was the one who showed me everything,other staff wasn't talking to me,and never smiled and looked down on me,never going beck, I go to gym to help my selfasteam not get it worse. .staff needs costumer service training,saw 3 off tham,and neither was pelided....

Positive experience: Has everything you'd want from an independent gym. Good equipment, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Considering the floor size, there isn't too much waiting for equipment to become free.
