Positive experience: Good gym the only one main piece of machine missing which is the standard smith machine not the one you got with 10 or 15 % angle, please get the standard one.
Hi, thank you for your honest feedback. As you mentioned we do have a Smith machine and it is a very popular bit of kit. We have an extensive range of pin loaded, plate loaded and free weight kit which we feel caters for any type training. We will be looking at adding more equipment in the near future!

It’s a shame, the atmosphere is not very welcoming, from both members and staff (not sure it was because I’m a person of colour, though it definitely felt that way) Had to cut my session short because of how uncomfortable I felt, gutted because I did want to join

Negative experience: Very Bad Experience.
Positive experience: Joined recently. The equipment is very good. Well air conditioned. The gym doesn't seem to get too crowded and the staff are generally very nice. The lighting is a nice aesthetic but it feels unsafe particularly upstairs. I have some issues with coordination and felt unstable on the cardio machines because of the lighting. Music is too loud at most times. Difficult to communicate with the staff/others while it's blaring. As an audiologist, I have concerns about the levels. I entered the gym with another member the other day and today I was emailed that I'd have my card blocked and a fee issued if I don't confirm who the other member is. Both of us had our pictures taken when we joined so I assumed there is some sort of facial recognition system in place. A simple instruction to tell members that they need to scan their individual armbands would be suffice if the gym is tracking its members like this, or better yet a turnstile type access. Not the best impression as new customers. The email wasn't worded very nicely. I'm a tad disappointed. Please consider my feedback and honest review.
Hi Marina, Thank you for your review and appreciate the feedback. The lighting in general has been done in a way to be aesthetically pleasing and help create a nice atmosphere in the gym. Would you mind if I asked if the music was too loud in one particular area or did you feel it was throughout? We have implemented new procedures to control the music volume at particular times of day to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. This is all part of the club rules, which all members get a copy of at the start of their membership. We monitor the check ins daily and get in touch with any members that have allowed someone else into the gym with them, as we need to know who is in the building for safety and security reasons. We do not have an AI system that does this for us, it is done by staff and can no visually recognise all of our members, which is why we then get in touch.

Fantastic experience: I signed up to the gym this week and was feeling a bit nervous about going in as haven't worked out for a long time. The staff were so great and making me feel welcome and that I was making a good first step to getting fit and strong again. Not intimidating but professional and really knowledgeable. The induction with Leoni was really helpful.

Negative experience: The facilities at the gym are great but the genre of music they play is awful! And it’s the same several songs constantly on repeat. It’s honestly like torture. Makes it almost impossible to work out. Not to mention how loud it is but too! Even the best quality noise cancelling head phones don’t stand a chance.
Hi Jade, I am pleased that you like our facilities. With regards to the music we play in the gym, we try and have upbeat motivational music on where possible. Unfortunately we are unable to cater to everyone's music tastes which is why we cycle through multiple playlists daily. We have recently reviewed our music levels in the gym, and have taken steps to ensure that the volume is adequate to provide a nice atmosphere in the gym, but not over powering. If you could let me know if there is a certain day or time that you feel the music is too loud, and if this occurs in a certain area of the gym I can look further into this.

Negative experience: I've had a very bad experience with this gym overall and especially with the manager 'Wayne'. Not supportive and rude. Last year, while in the 2 year recovery stage after having spine surgery during covid I decided to try go get fit and joined this gym as part of my light work physiotherapy. But as the opperation hasn't gone as I we had hoped, I've not been able to work out for some time. Last year I was convinced to opened a 12 month contract with Jetts at the reception. My issue for months now is that it is the policy of this gym that if I had a worsting health condition that prevents me from working out I have grounds to cancel my contract. I have requested this multiple times and provided the evidence of my surgery to the manager Wayne on request by printed out hand delivery and various emails. But he continues to disregard my request and charges me for the contract that I can not use. Fogging me off at every opportunity! There is no complaints process on the Jetts website or App. Not sure what I'm supposed to do really. Very disappointing as they continue to fail to get back to me after repeated phone calls and visits to the reception. As they continue to charge me per month for a gym pass that I can not use, until my 12 contract runs out. I have only used the gym twice since I opened the account last year. And my contact now is nearly over. Not cool. I now have a new urgent appointment at the Leeds (surgery department) hospital for a follow up and possibly to have to go further surgery. The manager 'Wayne' implied to my face that I was lying and I stated that my evidence wasn't good enough. I'm still trying to make a formal complaint about this guy but there is still no way to do this. Not good enough. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Hi Darren, the perk of a 12-month commitment is a cheaper monthly membership fee. This is offered to all new members upon sign up, along with 2 other more flexible membership options. It is entirely up to the member which tariff they choose, and members are not swayed one way or another by staff. In some extenuating circumstances, you may be released early from your fixed term membership, e.g. on medical grounds. In this case, you were informed of exactly what evidence was required to prove that you were unable to use the gym, i.e a current doctors note advising your against vigorous physical activity. Such evidence was not provided. The only evidence provided was proof that you had surgery years before signing up to the gym, along with other such letters from the hospital dating back to 2021. If you had supplied the documents requested, the agreement would have been cancelled with immediate effect. You were offered a free freeze for 3 months to give you time to secure the relevant paperwork, which was put in place for you immediately. However this was still not possible for you to provide. I know this can be frustrating when you are struggling with your health, however we have policies in place for a reason. If fixed term commitments could easily be broken, this would not be fair on our members paying the higher tariff for the flexible membership. We are a community gym and are sympathetic to all issues members face and will do what we can to assist.
Fantastic experience: A gym with proper equipment; From the hand grips through to the benches, 10/10 all the way through.
Positive experience: Really good quality equipment and the refurbishments look great, but I feel like £40/month is too high considering it's a relatively small gym with no pool/sauna or anything like that
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for around 3 months. The gym is very clean. All the equipment is really good and modern. Members are encouraged to return all the equipment back to where it goes, hence all the plates and dumbbells are always where they should be. The staff are also genuinely friendly. They are in the process of completing a room for various punch bags and pads which will be a great addition to a great gym. I don’t train at peak times so I can’t comment on how busy it gets.
Positive experience: The gym is well equipped, there is a good atmosphere, and the members are diverse, friendly and respectful. In my opinion the recent refurb has actually made things worse; out of 3 sinks in the men’s, 1 works properly, 1 is temperamental and 1 doesn’t work at all. There is an issue with the plumbing or it’s just a bad design as the floor is always soaked around them. Neither of the hand driers work nor do the soap dispensers… there are rarely any paper towels there or in the main gym area. There is no separation between the men’s and the actual gym so assumed you’re meant to change in the shower cubicles which have insufficient ventilation so everything gets soaked. Generally a poor quality refurb all round. If these issues are resolved overall it’s a decent gym.
Hi Jack, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we are having a few teething problems and despite the contractors coming back 4/5 times, we are still having ongoing issues. They are due back this week, so hopefully it will be resolved once and for all. We are also upgrading the fuse board this week, which will allow everything to work as it should. We do not have a separation, as that is not a changing room, the changing rooms are next to the showers, so you can change privately with dry clothes! :) Once the refurb is finished and we have got it running exactly how we want it, we hope to improve your review. Negative experience: Will discuss the gym based on points based on my experience; Pros - Modern, A wide variety of equipment, Cardio, Spacious changing rooms, private showers, fancy lighting, has mainly everything you need, 24 hours. Cons - Way to much members feels like a modern pure gym, the gym is quite small on the first floor when to much people are in at the same time its claustrophobic, cardio equipment is lacking was expecting slightly more based on the large area, treadmills placed so closed together you can basically touch the other persons arms on the rest, pretty dark upstairs as well no windows feels shut out, influencers with tripods happens sometimes nobody wants to be broadcasted on social media not to mention they block the areas with the tripods, a limit should be put on groups during rush hour having 4 people hogging 3 different machines is just a joke, could use a free weight shoulder seated exercise, hack squat instead of 6 racks in the corner which imo never have all been used at the same time 3 would have made more sense. Price is expensive compared to others £30 on contract - £35 without no sauna and no steam room one of the more expensive ones going about, JD is £20 with sauna steam and is much larger, pure gym is £15 for the similar amount of equipment and up the road Kents gym is £18 which is also similar also a sauna and steam overall a decent gym overshadowed by the price and a glorified modern pure gym.

Fantastic experience: I joined in either January I believe and have not regretted it. The place has a machine for every muscle, a punching bag, enough cardio machines for a small militia and the dark lighting is perfect for me. Better yet the treadmills have solitaire on them (you can catch me playing it for hours on end) :). If you take your fitness seriously and are after a solid all round Gym I couldn’t recommend Jetts More. (Just please leave a treadmill for me so I can play solitaire:))

Positive experience: Why's this place so dark when the lights are so blinding? That's not a philosophical question btw. In the changing rooms I have to use a torch to see the numbers on my padlock! Fix the lighting, it's a gym not a trendy restaurant toilet.

Fantastic experience: I really love this gym for lots of reasons: it’s well kitted out with a range of machines, free weights and cardio machines. You never have to queue for anything as it’s open 24/7. There have been many times that I’ve been one of less than 5 people in the gym. As a woman I’ve always felt safe. It’s dark – something I like, and the music is decent. I’ve done a free weights workout upstairs on my own with a whole gym room to myself – do what you like – secret cartwheels, handstands and dancing if you like! So much space. Most of all I love the atmosphere it has. I’ve never once felt intimidated, or too silly to try a machine I had never used before. On the contrary, I’ve had help and demos from fellow members, and people have gone out of their way to be friendly. I can’t fault this gym. It’s a real bargain and a nice place to work out.

Fantastic experience: Iv recently joined Jetts gym and think it is a really good gym I have been to quite a few over the years but this one is the best one I have been too and makes me want to go the equipment is really good and there’s a lot of different equipment for different things I enjoy coming where as it was a chore at all the others the staff are friendly and helpful aswell makes it nice to come back to everytime

Negative experience: Absolutely absurd rules…. Have to put weights back in order 2-10? I understand you should put your weights back which I do but to put them back in order is silly especially if they’re already mixed up. First time and won’t be coming back again.
Morning George, I hope you enjoyed your free trial. To be honest, I am not sure how this is a bad thing and a 2-star review. We have recently struggled with dumbbells being put back in the right order, so are trying to reinforce this and ensure you can find the correct dumbbells instead of looking all over the place and wasting your time looking for them. You will find putting your dumbbells back in the right order is polite etiquette and a rule in every gym. We are not going to change our approach in giving the best experience to our members. Sorry we couldn't be the right gym for you, and I hope you find what you are looking for elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: After a short call regarding classes with a very helpful lady [Emma], I opted for a free day pass. I was shown around the equipment in a relaxed & friendly manner. Very informative & highly impressed, signed up on the day. Having just done my first Sunday morning Yoga session I'm pleased to say it was without doubt the best Yoga class I have ever attended. Very welcoming class members & highly experienced & relaxing instructor. Cannot wait to revisit.

Fantastic experience: I am an avid user of Jetts gym. I am the only disabled user to my knowledge, and I feel safe, secure and unjudged while on site. Jetts staff are very accomodating and friendly, I've never had a bad word to say about any of the staff. I've used other gyms, but always end up returning to Jetts, as I feel like part of their family. You don't get that in gyms anymore!
Fantastic experience: I attend several classes a week, boot camp and body pump on Tuesday with meesh.... boot camp on Friday with Sana and to finish the week I attend drop it like it squat followed by boxfit with Emma! All the classes and staff are fab

Negative experience: This gym is utterly rubbish now “Jetts” have taken over! I have come to the gym for a few year now when it was “Core Gym” and it was great but since the change over to Jetts they have moved equipment about so when it's busy you are all crammed together very claustrophobic! Was speaking to a few other members yesterday some actually want to change gym now so glad I wasn’t the only one thinking it! Same staff ect which are all great but really don’t get the move round and machines ect closer together will be cancelling my direct debit myself probably give it a few more week then change gym.
Hi Robbie, since Jetts Fitness has taken over the externals of the building have been significantly updated and looks fantastic. The internal works has yet to commence, with significant investment being made in new equipment, and refurbishment of multiple areas of the gym, which will be happening in the coming months. In preparation for the initial works to commence on the new entrance and reception area at the front of the building, we have shuffled the equipment around to allow space for this work to take place. Once this has been completed in the coming weeks, we will be able to utilise all the space on the gym floor to spread out the equipment much more. The current gym layout is just going to be for the short term, and would love the chance to show you the plans we have in place for how the gym will look, once the full fit out is complete. Fantastic experience: I joined Core Gym around 8 months ago. I have concerns over places where you go in and can't use the equipment for blokes posing and taking selfies. I have to say Core Gym is a working gym. Doesn't matter where you go, you'll always get some Wally on his phone posing. BUT.... The staff here are wonderful. Supportive. Knowledgeable. Happy to help and willing to show how to use new equipment. The PT sessions are great prices and really good at targeting your needs. The classes are included in the membership. The equipment is new, or at least it's been maintained very well. There's a good mix of male and female gym goers. The changing facilities are really good. Lockers, bring your own padlock. I've not used the showers, but have heard good things. Throughout all the Covid scares, there has been cleaning equipment for sanitising the machines before and after use. I avoid tea time rush if I can. But if I can't, it's not unbearable. Gym prices are not too dissimilar to other places. This who have been there a long time get a cheaper rate, due to when they joined, but that doesn't bother me. Overall.... Highly recommended for everyone, even those a bit gym nervous. Everyone is welcoming and welcomed. All shapes and sizes.

Fantastic experience: Just started today and I can say the staff are so nice especially the woman at the reception (blue eyes) extremely friendly and helpful women. Overall it's a good gym the equipment feel new and it's a nice atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: A very nice gym apart from one regular. A man called Derek Craven keeps following me to the changing rooms and asking to smell my bicep. I told him I’m not comfortable with that and he told me that “he would have me in his caravan”. Not sure what that means but he said it’s what middle aged folk do.

Negative experience: Me and my wife joined core gym and to start with everything was ok then after about 18 month she got arthritis in her knee and she asked them to suspend her membership but they carried on taking it. I myself got locked in the gym when I was getting chained and nothing was done about this either.

Negative experience: Ok gym, more cardio than weights. Staff fine. Recieved threatening letters of debt collection agencies after missing a payment. Cancellation process is awful. Supposedly 1 month rolling contract, took them 3 weeks to notify me of no payment, so I cancelled yet they still wanted a further months payment. Making it 7 weeks to cancel. You aren't a customer, you are a number. AVOID.

Fantastic experience: I've never been a 'gym' person before but what started out as trying a few classes thinking I wouldn't fit in or feel comfortable has led to me doing lots on a weekly basis and I can honestly say I love it. The staff are so friendly and the mix of classes and equipment is excellent. I'm so glad I gave it a chance as I'm healthier and happier.
Fantastic experience: I must say core gym is one of the best gyms I have been to with the most friendly staff the atmosphere in the gym is relaxing where you don’t feel uncomfortable to do your workout. Their have some of the best classes & their PTs always push you to help you reach your goals they mak you feel good about your self & make it fun
Fantastic experience: Now nearly 10 months a member and it just gets better from Steve and his mental bootcamps in the old blockbuster Brianne and Julies zumba and clubbercize and our fab Pt Lucy x all staff and members are brilliant it's a place to meet up with friends to get your butt kicked but still enjoy the classes xx
Fantastic experience: Lovely clean, warm and welcoming gym. Staff are really happy and friendly and very approacable. Fantastic personal trainers. All machines are new but more importantly well maintained and never out of use to my knowledge. Lots of different classes available. Highly recommend. Jo Jones

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with great equipment. Also have some fantastic classes which are all included in the price of membership! The staff are great and very knowledgeable & always willing to help with advice. Would highly recommend, especially for the very cheap price & the referral scheme to earn FREE months of your membership!
Fantastic experience: As a fanatic gymer and having been a member of lots of different gyms I cannot recommend Core Gym enough. Classes are fantasic, modern and diverse. Staff are uber friendly and the pricing is extremely competitive. What's not to like... love Core Gym!

Core is by far one of the best with a diverse base of clientele, excellent knowledgeable staff, fantastic facilities.. warm clean air conditioned rooms and very good opening hours... other gyms should be very uneasy about Core gym... well done Core by far one of the best...
