Ruskin Fitness Club

Negative experience: This could be such a nice fitness club and it seems to have gone down hill. We really enjoyed the first couple of months as members but it all changed in the early summer. Something is always broken, the pool and jacuzzi made us genuinely feel unwell (they didn’t at first but we were told that nothing had changed chemical wise when trying to give feedback) and it’s just not a relaxing atmosphere in the pool area. One particular member of staff had a really horrible attitude that made us quite uncomfortable. Not worth the cost and I wouldn’t recommend.

Positive experience: It's a very classy gym, it has everything you need, however, there is always issues with the spa. Showers are broken, sauna doesn't work, steam room doesn't work, jacuzzi makes your eyes water. Mens changing rooms have wet floors everywhere. I've been a member 3 years.

Fantastic experience: This is not just a club and a swimming pool, it is a natural treatment. Everything is clean and beautiful.

Negative experience: Poor management- high turnover of staff. Poor People Skills. Observed foul language from a gym instructor against a fellow gym user. Other than that, would definitely recommend

Negative experience: Overall great gym & great facilities however I find some of the female staff really let this gym down.

Positive experience: Place has been recently refurbished & looks great , staff are friendly gym are good for the size, pool good but other facility’s steam room to be always broken or not working to their required standard. For gym of the year they need to focus on steam room and Jacuzzi can run at least 7 days without breaking, lockers constantly breaking. Shame as it lets the place down for the price of platinum membership

Fantastic experience: I signed up to the offpeak membership 4 months ago, and I use roughley x3 times per week. The gym is compact, but it has everything you need. The changing rooms with code lockers are modernised, and clean. Poolside/jacuzzi and saunas are a nice touch too. I haven't tried any classes yet, but I've sampled nearly everything off the menu and never been dissapointed. The staff are lovely and friendly too. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: The worst smell in this pool is the smallest pool and the most expensive money and I didn't like it. They didn't pay back the money and the iron game was very bad. I hope no one goes away

Plus, the pool has everything including: Jacuzzi Steam room Sauna Detox box Deck chairs A wide range of classes, too, which I thoroughly enjoy. Lovely gym staff there who are very experienced and they will help you achieve your fitness goals. In fact, my former work colleagues. Love you lots! Ste with a V!

Fantastic experience: Wow. This Gym and pool are set in the most beautiful grounds and the interior feels like you are in a luxury hotel. Makes working out so enjoyable.

Positive experience: Place has been refurbished & looks great. The pool was cool today but ok for swimming. The steam room wasn't very warm, didn’t feel like it was working to me. Showers were warm, but the floors around were very slippery. Changing rooms very nice, just missing a clock. Not tried the gym yet. Overall very impressed on my 1st day back.

Positive experience: Not a bad gym, but if it's busy it soon becomes very small, I found it also to dark in there. Pool area is very slippery even when wearing appropriate footwear. Scanning in and out via your smartphone can be a bit of a nuisance. Staff on reception were always friendly and helpful. It is reasonably priced when you take into account the pool, sauna, steam and Jacuzzi. Carpark isn't the best or road in and out of the place. Can be awkward.

Negative experience: Have been going this gym for a long time but of late there are more and more men in the pool area with there phones my daughter has stopped going into the pool because there always taking pics and dose not want to end up on some ones soical media

Positive experience: Joined a few weeks ago everywhere lovely and clean staff great one problem swimming pool has never been warm since I Joined when is this problem going to be fixed

Positive experience: Beautiful surroundings. Plenty car parking. Spotless clean. Feel really let down as when we joined wasn't told boiler broken in the pool. Only weeks later it's broken again. Asked to freeze membership. Told no. So now paying for a pool too cold to get in. Changing rooms are so slippy and if lockers jam and ring bell took 20 minutes for someone to attend. So mixed bag.

Negative experience: Joined 6weeks ago only wanted to use pool aqua classes not bothered about the gym.since we joined pool is to cold to use boiler problems which I understand happens. The actual place is lovely asked if could freeze membership till pool fixed no chance I had an accident at the pool 2weeks ago not even asked my name if u have problem don't think they want to know

Fantastic experience: Got tired of training at my previous gym (Xercise4less), and needed some extra motivation so I joined up this gym… I am in awe! The facilities are superb, the makeover it’s had is fantastic and today it continues to do well.

Fantastic experience: The club enjoyed an incredible renovation, unfortunately I wasn't in the area long enough to enjoy it as much as I'd like to have but the pool and spa area looks amazing. The gym I did get to use and I can vouch for it, good Covid-19 measures in place and lots of equipment... The best fitness club I've ever used for sure!

Positive experience: The only the thing that let it down is wheel chair access, there are pointless big ramps to go over to get to the building, otherwise the food was good, just a bit slow that day

Positive experience: Love this place (weirdly). I have not used the gym or spa but the club house is clean, warm (on those cold wet football/rugby mornings) and welcoming. It has a peaceful atmosphere, which considering how busy it gets seems strange but you really can sit and watch the windy games on the pitch or just drink away a few hours whilst the kids (of all ages) play. Reasonably priced and food available from the bar on match days, plus the restaurant. Its all good.

Positive experience: Reception staff, sadly, are lacking customer care skills. No smiles or hello's. Just a blank stare waiting for you to tell them what you want. Facilities are ok, pool is decent enough. Changing rooms could do with being cleaned down more often. Can't believe it's now £4.90 for a swim!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic leisure centre. Very laidback atmosphere. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff. Lovely temperatures and very clean throughout. No signing up fees. No extra charges for lockers and no forced long contracts.

Fantastic experience: Superb facilities! My son was playing rugby On their new Astro rugby pitch; it was great. They also had a cricket green, bowling green, football and tennis courts. The facilities were are new and lovely.
