Negative experience: I am appalled by the behaviour of reception staff, and management at the Lichfield branch towards my son and his girlfriend. My son is a member of Solihull, his girlfriend is a member at Coventry. When they come to visit me (mother) in Lichfield, they like to visit the Lichfield branch. But apparently they are not allowed anymore. They are not in the high rank of membership. They already pay £150 per month. But because they are not in the Platinum category , they have been refused entry. Now, I’m sure David Lloyd will come back with all sorts of excuses for their different ranks of membership.. Lichfield has had a big makeover.. new spa etc etc. My son was treated really badly by a member of staff behind reception, and a manager. And I am going to make it my mission, to find out exactly who they were. When I do, and I will, I will take it to the press. And I will name and shame until my son, and hopefully many others who have been treated in the most disrespectful way, will get an apology. David Lloyd health and wellbeing fitness/ tennis… shame on your company! Just a money grabbing business

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love David lloyd gym. I started at the beginning of November and l haven't looked back. I can't wait to get there for my next session. The staff are amazing, any questions you may have are always answered in such a lovely manner , always willing to help. Also would like to mention amazing Jess who has worked with me as my personal trainer. Jess you are brilliant!!! Jess has given me so much motivation, she beams knowledge and enthusiasm, but also sooo lovely. ( thanks so much Jess) xxx

Negative experience: I cannot express how disappointed I am with the handling of my membership by David Lloyd Lichfield. The lack of professionalism and fairness in resolving this matter has left me appalled. My account was unfairly suspended for months without my consent, apparently at the request of the primary account holder, which reeks of negligence on the part of management. It is beyond unacceptable that my access to the facilities was restricted while the primary member enjoyed full use of the gym. The proposed solution to reinstate my membership came with a shocking 60% price increase, further highlighting the club's disregard for fairness and customer loyalty. This feels like nothing short of extortion. Despite my ongoing payments during the suspension, which I forwarded as part of a mutual arrangement, I have yet to receive clear confirmation on whether these payments were applied appropriately. The dismissive attitude displayed by the club in failing to resolve my concerns and address the unfair practices of the primary member highlights an ongoing issue. The club's inaction to prevent further injustices in similar cases speaks volumes about its priorities – profits over members' well-being and rights. To add insult to injury, when I requested the cancellation of my membership due to this mistreatment, the process was needlessly drawn out and left unresolved for weeks. The entire ordeal reflects a complete disregard for customer satisfaction, transparency, and ethics. I strongly advise against joining David Lloyd Lichfield if you value fair treatment, clear communication, and a supportive environment. This experience has left me with a sour taste, and I will certainly be sharing my concerns far and wide to ensure others are aware of the deeply flawed practices at this establishment. Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: A regular visitor to the club and the facilities are always fantastic. The Spa is a fantastic addition! The staff on the main reception are fantastic but a particular shout out to Rachel who works in the Spa - always incredibly cheery, welcoming and has a smile on her face when you enter!

Fantastic experience: I recently started going to the gym and decided to give a PT a go to help some injuries - booked with Caelum and I’m really glad I did. From day one he has been nothing but educational and supportive while constantly aware of injuries. Each session has been towards goals that are achievable and personal to me while not being overwhelming or unrealistic! After my first session I was more than happy to invest in more sessions with him knowing I’m in safe hands, especially for someone who’s new to the gym and most of the equipment.

Fantastic experience: I recently toured the newly refurbished David Lloyd gym in Lichfield with Harry, and was so impressed that I joined a few days later (despite being perfectly happy with my existing gym until now!). The facilities are fantastic, with everything you could want from a top-tier gym, including a brand new spa which looks perfect for winding down after workouts, as well as a Clubroom for taking a break with a coffee - or even working remotely. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel positive and encouraging from the start. I can’t wait to make the most of everything the gym has to offer.

Negative experience: Terrible experience with this gym, I signed up to another one that was the same tier membership and I was told I could use this gym. However, they have recently upgraded their tier and will no longer let me use this gym - none of this was explained at the time. I have also asked the manager (Andrew) to call me back a few times and he hasn't. Really poor from the Lichfield gym, their facilities are actually worse than my home club with smelly toilets and rude staff.

Nicola took the time to ask me how I was as she passed me a towel. Instantly I felt this warm feeling inside and felt welcomed by the club. I had a query with my account which Nicola helped me resolve professionally. After using the health club I left and Nicola was still smiling and wished me a good evening. I couldn’t be happier being a part of this health club, it feels like my second family.

Fantastic experience: Oh wow, went into the new spa today OMG! I just had the most incredible experience at the new spa! I've been to spas on cruise ships and resorts, but this one is next-level. It's not in a repurposed building; it's a new and thoughtfully designed, state-of-the-art facility. The large hydropool is split between indoor and outdoor, and there's a full range of thermal experiences, including saunas, steam rooms, ice rooms and plunge pools. Plus, there are loungers to relax on both indoors and out AND thermal loungers too . I'm blown away. I think this will rekindle my gym mojo! A huge thanks to Sarah, the spa host, for giving me a tour and explaining everything in detail. It was great to know that she was member.

Fantastic experience: Nice facility. Pleasant and helpful staff. They have just built a beautiful new spa which includes steam rooms, hot and cold tubs, saunas and such. The gym gets busy but is well equipped and maintained. A bit more pricey than your average gym but very nice indeed.

Fantastic experience: Following 3 free taster Personal Training sessions with Caelum, it was clear that he was the right PT for me to continue with. He asked all the right questions to find out my goals and understand where my fitness is at the moment and where I want it to be in the next 12 months. He was really understanding of my need to gently return to fitness after some health set-backs but also appreciating my big eventual goals by sensibly breaking them down into manageable targets. His level of communication to ensure that I stay accountable is wonderful and his empathy is clear when asking about my day, week, weekend and just picking up on the little things that may affect my training or progress. I’m looking forward to working with Caelum over the next 12 months and getting back my fitness back to where I want to be.

Fantastic experience: I've had a tour today with Alex and signed up as a new member. I can only base this review on that experience but it was high class from the start: a warm welcome from reception, a detailed and informative tour and a wide range of modern facilities across the club. Alex was personable and friendly, with no pressure for me to sign up there and then (I felt very comfortable in doing so based on my experience). A brilliant start!

Fantastic experience: Nicole is not only a brilliant instructor, she is also the person who makes sure all the other sessions at David Lloyd Lichfield happen! That's like having 2 jobs both at the same time - she is a superstar! I did Nicole's aqua class last week and although I only go to the class every so often, it was, as always, brilliant. One of the ladies near to me in the swimming pool said 'Nicole puts her heart and soul into her class doesn't she?' - she does indeed. Thanks Nicole - keep doing what you do so brilliantly.

Positive experience: Great gym that’s only getting better. Caelum was an excellent personal trainer and has multiple ways of motivating and getting the most out of his clients. Due to my ever changing job and family life at the moment it’s not the best time for me to be a member. I can’t wait until I’m back home for good so I can re-join and sort out myself both mentally and physically. The only thing I could complain about is the cost which is more double the nearest competitor.

Fantastic experience: An absolute masterclass in customer service from Harry and the team at David Lloyd Lichfield. I can’t speak highly enough of Harry who went above and beyond to ensure all my questions were answered and his communication throughout the last 48 hours has been 1st class. He completed an accurate handover to his manager Rich, as he has a couple of days off and Rich knew exactly where to pick things up for a smooth sign up process. From my initial gym tour to final sign up, the team accommodated for my specific timings and Alex completed sign up for me and my 2 kids with clear communication and ease. The care, attention and professionalism Harry, Rich & Alex have shown has been truly fantastic and has given me a very positive initial impression of joining a superb gym facility. Fantastic experience: Been a member for only a week now and in that short time Caelum has made me feel really welcome in the gym and after a couple PT sessions I’m starting to feel confident to come to the gym on my own as well as my PT sessions… would recommend him to anybody that wants to get into the gym but has been scared to for a while.

Fantastic experience: Hi Recently joined up here , the recent revamp ( nearing completion ) is looking amazing. From entering the gym , was made so welcome. It's not a gym where you feel intimidated. It has a really family orientated feel. Liam showed us around and fully explained everything and more. There was no pressure selling , was a joy to sit and chat about what we wanting from joining. It was due to the fact we was wasn't pushed into anything that we signed up. Putting it into context it's less than a pint or glass of wine a day . All this for outstanding services and customer experience. Thanks again to Liam for making us feel so relaxed and wanting to come to the gym.
