Negative experience: Great if you want a cheap, over-crowded gym full of gangs of clearly under age school kids hogging machines and taking selfies.

Fantastic experience: Great space, always have equipment to use even when busy. Friendly staff and the free unlimited parking is an absolute bonus.

Positive experience: Gym is lovely, well kept, however when I went up to staff about a workout programme and an induction for the machines, instead of booking me in I was told to use the app.

Fantastic experience: PureGym gets a 3.5/5 overall from myself. 24/7, good price month to month, has most of what anyone needs, however they are busy, frequently have poor hygiene, higher rate of inconsiderate users and missing or worn out accessories, plus often misplaced or missing weights. Ashford Warren Retail Park Best PG I've been to so far, free water still tastes as bad as all the others though. Clean, does not smell, good size facility, lighter and brighter than most, plenty of kit for everyone and mostly civilised users. Also most weights and accessories easy enough to find.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. The gym is well equipped and easy to access. High levels of respect amongst customers, which is great to see. I have also recently attended a Boot Camp class, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The members of staff running it were supportive, motivating, and knowledge.

Positive experience: Great Gym, good size with lots of clean equipment, my only issue is sometimes the QR pass on your phone doesnt work or resets and it become a burden to track through previous emails to find your ID pin number.

Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym for two months. The water in the showers comes out very cold and they are very dirty, now that it is winter it should be warmer. and the wifi doesn't work so I have to use my data traffic. In addition, the flavored water dispensing machine always works. I think there are things that need to be improved

Fantastic experience: Just visiting Ashford and joined here for a week. So far I'm delighted. Mixed crowd, free parking and right next to M&S foodhall, which is convenient. Nice vibe!

Positive experience: I really like this gym as it lots of useful equipment, a wide variety and it's affordable. I have noticed over the past few months though that groups of 3-4 teenage lads hang around one machine and spend sooo much time on it that others often don't get to use it. It's starting to feel like teenage hangout spot. It's annoying as I go to work out, not stand around a machine chatting away in groups and not letting others use it. Something should be done about people hogging machines, as it's wasting other people's time if they just want a quick work out and not spend hours wanting to use the machines. I've tried going off peak but no difference. There should be a rule against this.

Positive experience: I'm enjoying going here. The gym has everything that I need and provides many different workout sessions if you want to do them

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere - it definitely feels that people of all fitness levels and ages are welcome. Peak times can get a little busy, obviously, but it has never felt cramped. As a young woman working out alone, I have never felt uncomfortable or uneasy. I'm quite self concoius, but have never felt like I'm being watched. Facilities are clean and well maintained, staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The Puregym app is essential, you cannot enter or exit without electronic access. It also gives live numbers on how busy the gym is. Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: ***** AVOID AT ALL COSTS!*** My partner has just cancelled his membership, due to all the complaints that are in others previous reviews....unclean, unsafe, no air, underage children in there, no staff available to help....when mentioned to a manager about grievances, my partner was told "I'm not on shift so I'm not dealing with it".... absolutely appalling!!! It's only a matter of time before something terrible happens in there and it's shut for good!!!

Fantastic experience: Currently a member here. Can quite frankly, say it's a lot better compared to the gym group and the one next to Lidl in town, which was disgusting. Does get quite busy in the evening but that's to be expected like in any other gyms. Plenty of equipments and very helpful and friendly staffs.

Positive experience: This is a great gym, attended by a healthy mix of regular folk of all ages, intent on keeping/getting fit and serious body builders. There are many treadmills, we've never had to wait, as well as plenty of rowing machines and bikes. The strength training equipment is clean and well maintained, my only criticism is that there is only one of each type of machine; so we frequently have to wait for the leg press or other strength equipment when completing our regular circuit. The free weights area is spacious and well equipped. There is also a good bicycle studio with mood lighting and two additional studios for aerobics and PT. The gym is open 24-hours a day and entry is gained via antipassback pods using a QR Code or pass code. There is a wheelchair friendly door that operates on the same principle. The changing/locker rooms are clean. They are upstairs (as is the bicycle studio), there is an elevator that can house a wheelchair. Membership is on a monthly basis with no annual contract. The smartphone app works well and tracks attendance, amongst other parameters. It also shows busy/quiet times of day. There is free Wi-Fi using the O2 network. My wife and I regularly attend together and we are both very happy with this gym.

Positive experience: Nice well lit, spacious gym. Nice spin studio and facilities; only negative is that the cleaning stations have been moved further away from free weight section and I keep losing my spot because I have to walk to the opposite side of the gym

Negative experience: Probably going to cancel as it is WAY TOO HOT. The only relief is when someone comes in and there is a cold rush from the door. Everyone complains about it but the setting is ‘set by corporate’. Almost passed out yesterday.

Negative experience: Vile disgusting place. The changing rooms not cleaned for ages. Thick dirty grime all around the toilet bowls. No soap in dispensers . My socks thick with dirt after walking around on the disgusting floors. The showers absolutely stink. Mould buildup and hair in the showers. Honestly heaving the fact I had to freshen up after my workout in the women’s changing rooms! Water fountain for bottles thick with limescale and old residue. Disable toilets absolutely covered in poo. I train in PureGym is all over the country and for a brand-new gym, I’ve absolutely never seen something so Disgusting. Speaking to the gym staff, they just nod and don’t listen/ dont care. Message to pure gym manager with no reply. Gym equipment dusty. How can you even be open to the public with obvious health and hygiene issues. Steps to changing rooms falling apart.

Fantastic experience: I've really enjoyed the experience at PureGym, There's so many different machines for people to use , and the staff are very good and will advise you and answer any questions you have and are super friendly.

Showers in mens have hair in and a smell seeping out the drainage..... might be wortb pouring 50 liters of bleech down them or have it loomed at my last gym use to close the showers for a day or two the weekends every so often for maintence

Fantastic experience: I have been attending free classes 'Learn to Lift' run by Zac Budde for the last few weeks. I highly recommend this class, Zac is as enthusiastic about weight lifting, fitness & health as he is knowledgeable & professional. I highly recommend this class and this gym! ️‍♀️

Fantastic experience: PureGym is the best gym with a range of classes available. I went to bootcamp and the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely going to do it again.

Negative experience: When it opened great standards but with such high staff turnover and a lack of care of standards - it has quickly become a dive gym. From slack approaches to safety checks, to using duck tape to ‘fix’ maintenance issues, filthy equipment & dirty changing room and also over subscribing classes/being able to access them - I really don’t see the value in being part of this gym now. With plenty of other gyms in the area, it’s worth looking elsewhere. Tried to approach the team to speak to them but no one is ever there or approachable, always on their phones or having a chat to each other. Messaged the team as PureGym website advises but got a pointless reply so have reached out to head office. Appreciate it’s a budget gym but there’s budget and then there’s a dive gym.

Positive experience: 4 stars becuase men showers are constantly dirty and full of hair. Swimming pool would be too much to ask but Sauna would be a nice add.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Friendly and helpful staff. Never usually have any problems waiting for machines or equipment. Nice and clean downstairs. The only downfall with this gym is the showers. They're sometimes dirty and there has been a foul smell in the drains for well over a month now.

Negative experience: Great gym, just a shame the classes change times on a regular cadence. Unfortunately, I have now joined another Gym due to their constant price hikes on the West Thurrock Gym (twice in 6 months) - I'm a multi-gym user and a premium member, when they raise the price of one gym you can then not use it despite paying your premium membership, only rectified by upgrading on the date your direct debit is taken, which could be a month!! So no gym access for that duration! Poor service levels with regard to assistance and complaints! You can never speak to a human!! Poor maintenance of equipment, especially the Spin bikes, pedal straps are always broken, therefore, pretty unusable! Would never return to this gym group!

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Ashford for affordability cleanliness, spaciousness, variety of equipment, availability of equipment, parking availability (although I hear it can be bad during the week between 6-8) and it allows you to have a gym buddy and open 24 hours.

Positive experience: Really low monthly cost which is great. New equipment and never really have to wait to use stuff. Staff are helpful when you need them. Only loses a star because the showers could be a bit cleaner and more hand sanitiser available. Also air con could be cooler.

Positive experience: Having joined from the Stour centre you quickly realise you pay for what you get. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Gym is kept clean and tidy. Equipment however is sub standard, free weights have a cheap feel, cardio machines seem old even though it’s a new gym. Spin bikes are the worst I’ve ever experienced, seat and handles do not stay in position and resistance is different on every bike.

Took my first spin class today and made me look like I just got out the shower :) very pleased with myself and zac (staff member leading the class). Overall just a great experience and the price is in my opinion low for all the opportunities you get.
