Positive experience: Just joined Hull and so far so good. I love how much is available - pool, spa, steam, tennis courts, gym floor, classes etc -and the staff are friendly. Not as fancy as the London gyms but that is more than made up for by the lower price. Looking forward to a year of weight training and the steam room! 4 stars only because it's not as fancy as other lloyds.

Fantastic experience: Excellent induction to the club by Adam. Very friendly and answered all the questions I had. He made me feel very comfortable in a new environment. He asked what my expectations were and made some excellent recommendations. The reception staff also very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to starting my membership!

Fantastic experience: Rejoined again in April after taking about 18 months out. Was great to see an improvement to some of the in club equipment. The club is clean, well equipped and the staff are always super friendly. I've been having PT sessions with Josh and these have been invaluable and amazing. Josh takes his time to find out what your goals are and tailors your workout to help you hit them. still a long way to go but I have already gained size and strength and a lot of confidence in just the few months since starting PT. Definitely recommend the club and highly recommend Josh if you are looking for a fantastic PT.

Fantastic experience: My sister and i have just had an amazing lunch after our workout. Amazing omelets, cheese and spinach and cheese and broccoli both made by Becky in the kitchen, thank you Becky they where delicious.

Fantastic experience: I have 3 most fav members of David Loyd that particularly brighten my dull days if I happen to bump into one of them. Steph at the reception, Neil and Phil. Their customers services is impeccable, and always eager to help with a massive smile on their faces. And not to forget John the chef with his signature dishes. These guys makes the place feel more authentic and enjoyable. Thank you a bunch ❤️❤️

Negative experience: Honestly absolutely over priced and NOT worth it at all. I am now paying nearly £75 a month for outdated equipment, any repairs takes months (We had no air con at the height of summer this year and there was a flying ant infestation in the outdoor pool for a good week that was not addressed), they promote exclusivity but at peak times you wont find a spot in the car park never mind a seat in the sauna and you will be queueing for the machines because there is mostly only one of each. Food is good but expensive even with the membership discount, personally you can get better in most other food establishments. Overall outdated, a lack of speed to complete repairs including air con, over priced and not worth it. You pay over £70 a month and they still put gaffa tape on a bench instead of replace it so you might as well go somewhere else. P.S the womens showers are grotty, there's mould in the ceiling tiles and they're constantly coated in soap scum and hair, never mind the empty bottles and shit people leave in them.

Fantastic experience: Member for nearly 2 years now. I mainly use the gym with our PT Josh, who is absolutely fantastic, and without him I’d have made no progress and abandoned my gym adventure long ago! It’s conveniently placed if you live in or around Kingswood, has a great cafe with delicious food, and quite the mix of facilities like racquet courts, steam room etc… You get a lot of facilities in one and the staff are all super friendly. It is more expensive than other gyms, but you do get a lot with your membership. As I mainly use the gym part, I’d love to see more investment in that to keep it competitive with new local gyms.

Poppy greeted at the booked time, she took the time to explain everything about the club, She asked us both what our expectations where, and what our goals where. She gave us our options and made some excellent suggestions and recommendations. We’re both looking forward to starting our memberships.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined, Poppy helped me through the induction and signup process and made the process very easy. Poppy setup the App for me and arranged my initial PT session which saved me all the faff. Been going a few weeks now and really enjoying the club and staff.

Fantastic experience: Joined in January 2024, but wish I had joined earlier. Has been a complete life changer for the family. Kids love going to the various different clubs whilst my wife and I hit the gym, go for a swim or relax with a coffee. Tennis courts, gym and swimming pool are all in great condition, and if something is not right they work to fix it as soon as possible. Highly recommended.

I can’t thank Connor enough for how amazing and hands on he has been during the sessions. Fantastic experience: I have just been to look around and was given tour by Phil. Facilities are great, from the variety of racquets, the gym and both indoor and outdoor pools. I signed up to join straight away and can’t wait to get started - induction session booked for Tuesday. I was also shown the app which I downloaded and makes booking sessions really easy.

He listened to my questions and expectations on joining the club and was very knowledgeable when giving me a tour and talking about my membership options. I like the gym and especially the rehabilitation centre connected to the gym, I feel this is really exclusive to David Lloyd and the first gym I have seen in hull to have this!

I’ve referred friends and family and they’re very satisfied with the facilities and service provided at DL Hull! Great value for money.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to David Lloyd on and off since 2014. I recently rejoined after a break of 2+ years and I’ve been blown away by how much has changed! I love how the entrance is now contactless using your phone, and the BioAge which replaced the old Boditrax machine is awesome and syncs straight to your phone. The app overall is great as everything is one place and you can even order food on it at the Club Lounge. I was especially impressed that you now receive 3 free personal training sessions when you join to help you give direction in the gym. I signed up with PT Ben and had a great initial session. I’m looking forward to doing more in the next few weeks.

My grandchildren and I are amazed at the choice of clubs they are able to book into via the app even at such young age of 3yrs and 4yrs they love it and the environment at the club is perfect particularly enjoying my personal training consultation which has given me a kick start into the gym rounding off the day with a swim and jacuzzi relaxation and cocktail at the bar while watching the tennis thanks David Lloyd really enjoying my experience and finally to mention the reception staff are particularly helpful as a new member.

A great asset to the team. Steff at reception always welcomes us with a smile. She never fails to ask how we're doing and if there's anything we need. It's a thoughtful service like this that makes David Lloyds a great club to be a member of.

Fantastic experience: Nice spacious gym, large indoor and outdoor pool, tennis, badminton, squash, racquetball, pickleball and table tennis. Loads of classes available. Good Cafe/bar too.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to the racquets manager Christine for organising an excellent pickleball tournament this weekend, thoroughly enjoyed playing competitive games. Everyone at the David Lloyd club were very welcoming and decent standard of players. Would definitely play there again!

Negative experience: Update: I had to contact the complaints line as I still hadn't heard back from the Hull club by 3rd July, despite the comment from the owner below saying they would look into it. The lady I spoke to on the complaints line apologised, and offered complimentary guest passes (which have not been put on my account as i wanted this to be escalated to the right department) and kindly reinstated my membership. She advised that she would be getting someone from the Hull team to contact me to look into this and see what they could do for my inconvenience and the lack of response to any of my emails etc... Still, nobody has contacted me. The club and staff members are lovely, but the customer service is lacking. I paid enough to become a member, only to have my membership cancelled, without requesting this. I've sent emails via the app, nobody replies, and I've tried to call the membership line and have been placed in a queue of 80 people, then subsequently 140 people. I've spoken to 2 people on reception, one assured me my membership would not be cancelled (as per the standard cancellation email I received), only to find that it has in fact been cancelled and i no longer have access. Have been told I'll get a call back "in a few days", which is really not acceptable. I paid a joining fee for a membership, which I no longer have!! Quick to contact you when wanting to take your money, however impossible to get to speak to the right person when you have an issue. It's a shame as the time I did have at the club I enjoyed, but I expect a better customer service department than this.

Fantastic experience: Not long lived in the area and wanted a gym with it all. This country club in Kingswood is it. Jason from sales looked after me as my first point of contact and has continued to support me since. His knowledge of the club doubled up with his charismatic approach has won it for me and my family. To be honest all the staff in the club are great.

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with the state of cleanliness in the changing rooms at David Lloyd Clubs. Finding such a mess is not only unpleasant but also reflects poorly on the management's attitude towards hygiene and customer satisfaction. It seems that the company prioritizes profit over providing basic sanitary facilities for its members. It's disheartening to see that David Lloyd Clubs doesn't care about maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for its clients. This lack of concern for hygiene is unacceptable, especially considering the high membership fees. It’s clear that their focus is solely on making money, rather than ensuring a positive experience for their members. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I deeply regret subscribing and wasting my money on such subpar services. This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had with any fitness facility, and I urge others to think twice before considering a membership here.

Positive experience: Great place and staff at reception is extraordinary, would be great if restaurant staff could look up members to ad discount if phoneor card don't work. The only reason this is not a 5 star is because of the state of the restaurant... tables always full and not clean, staff walking past them without grabing anything in they way, it happened twice in a week to have no clean table to sit even when restaurant is empty, as well as received cold steak twice and been told is because of the resting time, which is not an acceptable explanation for receiving cold steak. Other than that, the club itself is great with many good facilities accessible hours, good class selection and gym equipment, locker rooms always clean.

Fantastic experience: Just completed my introductory training sessions with Levi. I was really dubious about them as I have been going to gyms for years and never saw the point of a personal trainer. However I have learned so much from Levi and enjoyed the sessions so much that I am now a convert. Levi took the time to really understand my needs and motivations and made working with the equipment more fun than I ever expected. Thanks Levi
