Fantastic experience: Commenting as a gym user. First contact was warm, welcoming and friendly. Registration, induction and subsequent ongoing visits moved along seamlessly. The equipment and facilities are first class and clean but it is the staff who are the stars. There is an ethos of competence, kindness and respect which is exemplary and which they are so motivated to provide. I will take the opportunity to express my gratitude for this jewel of a community hub, and am looking forward to being the oldest Kitto gym user in years to come!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to YMCA for around 7 years, I’ve tried other gyms during this time for various reasons but this is by far my favourite. The refurbishment the gym and facilities have undergone the last few years have been amazing, adding to the brilliant community spirit that’s brimming at the gym. The staff are all lovely people, and the gym is always full of happy people who love a yap! Fully recommend

Fantastic experience: I booked tickets for Dinomania for my daughter and her two children. All three of them loved every minute! The dinosaurs were fantastic and everybody seemed to be having a great time. They had time to kill so they went upstairs to Billy’s Bistro for a drink and a snack. My daughter did karate there in her younger days so she’s had previous experience of the YMCA but she felt the change for the better since her last visit as a kid is massive. She said the staff were all so friendly, happy and welcoming. The food was good and the atmosphere was one of a big community. A fantastic hub for young and old to get together and enjoy each other’s company. The facilities are brilliant and there’s so much to do for all the family. Very reasonably priced too. What’s not to love! Well done Tom Lavis and your fantastic team!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love coming to ymca its smaller so therefore more personal and not so overwhelming as the big gyms feel. All the staff are really nice and friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: This year we started using YMCA Plymouth for weekly five-a-side football as a company and have been thoroughly impressed by the facilities and friendly staff. With plenty of parking, clean changing rooms, a well-lit all-purpose pitch and very fair prices, we'd highly recommend using YMCA Plymouth.

Fantastic experience: Great, everyone is helpful

Positive experience: I've been going to this gym for a while now and really like many aspects of it, such as the quality of the equipment and the friendly staff. However, there are a few points that I have noticed that I would like to address. Firstly, it doesn't seem to be a common practice here to use towels. Instead, members are encouraged to sanitise the equipment after use. This leads to a huge amount of waste, mainly from the paper used, which shocked me. At a time when we should all be trying to live more environmentally conscious lives, I find this practice quite concerning and in absolute need of reform. A simple towel would make it way more efficient. Secondly, I also have to criticise the cleanliness of the women's toilets. They are often in a poor state and the lack of toilet brushes makes it difficult to improve this situation. It is really surprising that such a basic hygiene tool is missing and I think this should be addressed urgently.

Fantastic experience: Spin Class. Brilliant studio. Visuals lighting and sound are superb and help you immerse yourself into the class. Before you know it, you have done 45mins. The coaches I have experienced were full of passion and drive that is so encouraging to help you get the job done. Fantastic experience

Fantastic experience: Soft play for the under 7s is fantastic. Everytime we have used the facilities they are always clean, tidy and ready to use. You can order coffee, tea or a selection of food items delivered to your table whilst still enjoying the soft play. 10/10

Fantastic experience: The YMCA was recommended to me by a fellow Children's Physiotherapist as a welcoming inclusive environment and I have not been disappointed! Bryony was fantastic during our gym induction and her positive attitude made myself and my client feel extremely welcome. The space is accessible for wheelchair users to exercise; there are automatic doors to gain entry to the building and good parking facilities. The whole gym is level access from the reception area and is spacious. Some of the CV equipment is quite close together so an attendant is required to move it but this is easily done. The gym and wheelchair accessible toilet are accessed through non automatic doors so again an attendant is required. I look forward to a long and happy relationship with the YMCA. Fantastic experience: Visited the soft play with my 10 month old today. Absolutely loved it, the place is clean and there's an under 2's area which was great. Great system for offering food and drinks on your phone which are brought down from upstairs. Great baby changing and toilet facilities and super friendly staff. We'll definitely be going back.

Fantastic experience: I'm 75yrs old and I have attended the YMCA gym for many years. It is a great gym with a friendly atmosphere. Bryony the Fitness Manager will always help and put you at ease when you need help or reassuring. I can't recommend it enough.

Fantastic experience: First visit to YMCA soft play for my Granddaughter 20 month old On arrival receptionist very polite and helpful explained what and were to go. loved the safety for toddlers with the key fog.the soft play was amazing. So clean everyone is so friendly. Lillie loved it for her age. The Cafe is so reasonably clean and a bonus to be able to order and have it delivered. We take our grandchild to many soft play areas around Plymouth this is the best. L would highly recommend and definitively be back thank you Mrs S Landricombe

He was professional and friendly throughout our whole session and really took the time to work with me on creating a programme that suits my needs and personal goals. Fantastic experience: My wife and I booked the Studio Soft Play Party for our Sons 1st birthday party. The room was kitted out, upon arrival, with everything you would need for an early years birthday party, including bouncy castle. There were 15 under 2’s plus parents in the room and at no time did it feel cramped. Staff were at hand to help throughout and helped tidy the room at the end. I would seriously recommend this party package to anyone booking a pre-school party!

Fantastic experience: Visited today with my kids for them to try out rock climbing. A massive thank you to Briany who showed them the ropes. They couldn't ask for a better teacher. They are very keen to come again if you end up having regular weekend sessions. Very good climbing wall for the kids

Fantastic experience: I hired the YMCA half hall for 3 hours, and then hired my own inflatables through a separate company. The hall was clean, affordable and the staff were very friendly and provided me with chairs and tables to use. My son and his friends had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday! Will happily use again and recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: Had my child's first party here. Could not fault the venue, staff were friendly. The bistro upstairs did party food boxs too and they were really good and great value for money!

Fantastic experience: Loved having my daughter's birthday party here. The staff were so lovely throughout and checked on us now and then to make sure everything was going well. We booked two bouncy castles and the catering. All the kids loved their whole time there. The catering was a bit of a show stopper since it kept all the kids quiet after running and jumping around. There was plenty of feed for adults too. Thank you again for having us. We'll definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: This is a review for the new soft play. Went last week with my 3 year old and baby. Absolutely fantastic, my eldest was able to play on her own whilst I watch her and my baby was able to play in the smaller soft play. Drinks delivered to the table. It maybe smaller than some soft plays but this is definitely our new favourite, also a lot cheaper than other soft plays in the area. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: the new ocean city soft okay looks great. however with the space being so small it gets really crowded with all of the prams.

Fantastic experience: Ocean city soft play absolutely fantastic. Great landmarks,The children loved it great value for money for the 90 minutes great choices at the cafe and you didn't even have to move from your table. Will spread the word at nursery/play group. Will definitely be revisiting. Lovely warm welcome from the receptionist and very helpful. I did ask before we left would there be an option for parents to use the gym whilst Children played in the ocean city soft play with supervision with my husband being away I find it difficult to get to the gym for physical exercise so this would be a fantastic opportunity for me.

Fantastic experience: The children had lots of fun! Adults were able to sit and enjoy a catch up knowing the kids were safe and having fun. Perfect size with lots to see and do. The table service was quick and easy for drink orders. We will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic experience: We had our sons 1st birthday party here in there soft play room with bouncy castle and I couldn’t of been happier! The staff were so helpful and the room and facility is amazing kept the kids happy and playing for two hours! Couldn’t recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: We had my sons 6th birthday party here and the hall was ready as planned with two members of staff waiting for us as we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed…. Nothing was to much trouble and they kept popping in to make sure everything was okay! We had the disco bouncy castle and the slide and it was a good choice. Definitely recommend having a party here to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but praise for the fabulous work that the YMCA team do. They are so aware of the needs of the young people who attend. Lots of variety for the children. They are welcoming and friendly and I am always given an update on how he has been. They also take security seriously making sure everyone is signed in and out. My biggest problem is getting my young man to leave. Thank you guys.

Fantastic experience: We had my daughters 7th birthday on Sunday 24th July and the staff couldn’t of been any more helpful. They came and checked we had everything! They gave me the cutting cake knife and bin bags I forgot to bring and also came and checked everything was okay at the end of the party. Really pleased with the venue and staff. Fantastic experience: Went for an induction and had a personal plan put together for my personal needs completely for free. Monthly subscription is very well prices too. The staff are brilliant, professional, friendly and very willing to help with any assistance or questions. The gym itself is absolutely top of the range, it has anything you could need and more. You can even jog on a treadmill, cycle or use a cross train while watching your favourite Nerflix show. Just to top it all off, there is a fantastically set up cycle class that has 25 bikes, a cinema screen with different simulation type tracks, very cool lighting to set the mood and the best sound system I’ve ever heard. 5 ***** easy.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym 1 week ago and had my induction with Neil. He was very friendly and never made me nervous at all and gave me a workout for what I wanted rather then what I need. I have been to gyms before and have felt uncomfortable but here at the YMCA it’s so relaxed and not intimidated at all. All staff are very friendly and welcoming .

I wasn't sure how the classes would match up to what I had been doing but they're difficult which is good and the spinning offers something different to what I've done previously. Plus, super convenient!

Fantastic experience: I had a little preview of the refurbishment at the Ymca today and Wow! What a major upgrade our neighbours are having. Its going to be awesome The staff were excited!

Positive experience: I bring my daughter here on a Saturday, as she has singing, ballet and gymnastics lessons with Italia conti. It's a bit chaotic at the moment, as there is a lot of building work going on. Once the work has finished it should be much better. There is also a nice little cafe on the premises called Steve's snacks.

Positive experience: A nice little gym. It's not as busy as the bigger gyms but doesn't have as much equipment either. If you're after a smaller gym and not too interested in the variety of equipment then this gym is perfect for you. Pricing is reasonable too and the staff are very friendly.

Fantastic experience: I did PT session at YMCA Plymouth, my coach Ms Sue Raven is a fab PT. She pushed me beyond my limits which I used to hate during the session but after finishing that session the sense of achievement was amazing.. she assess your potential and brings best out of you. Would highly recommend YMCA Plymouth’s PT sessions.

Fantastic experience: A friendly and welcoming Centre which offers something for everyone. We particularly enjoy the stay and play sessions for under 5's, which is brilliantly run and have used the Centre for a soft play birthday party which was great value and a huge hit with the kids.

Fantastic experience: I have attended YMCA Plymouth to play badminton using a hired court. The staff are very friendly and helpful. And it is good value for money. Plenty of parking too. Would definitely recommend YMCA Plymouth.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to give some feedback I’ve just done body combat with Daniel as the instructor and really enjoyed it - routines I hadn’t done before which were really fun but challenging and he brings so much enthusiasm to the class and encourages us to work to the best of our ability. Really enjoyed it !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been having PT sessions at YMCA for about a year now, and I’m extremely satisfied with the quality of training I’ve been receiving. My coach has successfully designed workouts that cover all fitness areas and are very suitable to my capabilities. The staff at YMCA are amazingly friendly and helpful, and they all have been doing a great job in making it possible to operate during the difficult times of the pandemic. I would definitely recommend the YMCA Plymouth to whoever is looking for a good quality training and a safe and friendly environment!

Fantastic experience: I use the Gym facilities and have done for many years. Always friendly & cooperative. Recently taken up the personal trainer option. Such good value for money and can tailor it to what you want to get out of it.

Positive experience: I used YMCA Plymouth this week for the first time ever (due to the life centre being closed) to do a body combat style class and I loved it! Instructor was good, we all stood on the designated spots in the sports hall to ensure a safe distance from each other, i found the staff at reception were really welcoming and friendly which I find is missing in some places these days! The only criticism would be to have the music a bit louder but I understand that it may not be possible as the hall is a bit echoey. Can't wait till next weeks class

Positive experience: Hosted a party here last year. Facilities are good, but it was a bit of a conveyor belt. There was another party shortly after ours, so it was a bit of a rush clearing up.

Positive experience: Played squash here a few times. No problems.

Negative experience: Cold, expensive and the basketball court has dead spots.
