Fantastic experience: Great gym , lots of good equipment , very friendly staff and always nice welcomes . And can’t forget about the delicious protein shakes . Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone especially with such ideal location !!

Fantastic experience: Having tried many of the gyms in Sheffield I can honestly say this is my favourite. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The classes are tough in a good way and the instructors are so motivating. The gym also has a great selection of equipment and plenty of space.

Negative experience: Facilities are very good for a small gym I will not discredit that. Service however is awful. Aftersales staff are rude, drag out resolving issues and after my contract itself ending on 1st June and me cancelling my direct debit they still tried to tied me to a 30 day leaving notification which I gave and they kept taking the payments ? I have had the offer of 1 payment refunding, including asking for bank details on email which I just find incredibly alarming from a GPDR stand point and that will just have to do to cut ties with this business but would not recommend. Pure gym is bang across the road from Millhouses, go there.

Fantastic experience: A brilliant, friendly and welcoming gym. Classes are inclusive for all fitness levels and the instructors/trainers push you to achieve your best. Never a problem getting on equipment. The community feel here has helped ease my gym anxieties and is turning me into a stronger and fitter person

Fantastic experience: I use this gym when I come to Sheffield. I always find this gym to be a very welcoming space. The changing/shower facilities are excellent, always clean and tidy. There are lockers. You just need a padlock. The equipment on the gym floor is fantastic & no shortage of squat racks and weight plates. There are weight machines too, so you can easily train any muscle group you want! There classes, a spin studio and drill area. But I can't speak for those as I've not done any classes here. I find this a really nice friendly space to train.

Negative experience: Edit: FHF rectified this after review was written but not after a lot of confusing mixed messages. I never tried to leave the agreed contract (which incidentally your sales staff did not tell me the length of upon sale), but to cancel upon contract completion. Please train your staff to be more transparent during sales and during the cancellation process. Thanks. Have given plenty of notice to cancel but they won't let me. Sneaky sales tactics, tie people into longer contracts without being clear with them. "Welcome pack" has no useful information in but all more sales tactics. Horrible money grabbing company.

Fantastic experience: Don’t normally review, but saw some unfair one stars and wanted to promote this place from my experience as if today. Staff 100% friendly, always helpful. Gym equipment is varied and in good condition. My PT who I’ve been with for 3 months now (Chris) is probably the best PT I’ve ever had (and I’ve been with many in the past) making me feel like he actually cares about my goals and frequently changes the routines. The protein shakes are good and reasonably priced. Overall this is a very good gym, bolstered by an exceptionally friendly and helpful team.

Fantastic experience: Good gym for proper training - barbells, kettlebells, pullup rigs, sleds, open floorspace etc. Overall vibe is friendly but no nonsense - a nice place to go and get the work done. Can be busy at peak hours but rarely a problem.

Negative experience: Last year I had a bad experience with Firehouse; they phoned me and gave me a trial for £1 and failed to tell me if the trial expired I would be tied into a 6-month contract. They simply said after it’s a monthly £30 contract. I missed the cancellation by one day and was informed I was now tied in for 6 months - when I explained I hadn’t been informed this, they said it was irrelevant and not their issue. Policy is policy, and all that. I then didn’t get a job I was hoping to get, so didn’t have an income - I asked if there was anyway to get out of the contract given this, and they refused (unless I provided official proof of being fired or being on benefits). Because of the way our benefits system works for self employed people (I live with my partner who has an income) I wasn’t entitled to benefits. I offered email evidence and bank statements, showing my lack of earnings, but they refused to accept any of it. It was a humiliating experience and I had to pay for the 6 month contract - money I could have really used, particularly during a cost of living crisis. I didn’t leave a review at the time, as I wanted to just move past it and forget about it… but I have seen that recently Firehouse have challenged other people who have had really similar experiences to me by saying they’re fake accounts or lying. I encourage people to not believe them. They adopted a manipulative marketing technique, get their staff to intentionally mislead people, and then trap them into contracts - for those who try to get out of them, it’s a humiliating and unkind process. I spoke to multiple staff throughout the process and all but one were unhelpful and unkind. Strongly urge people to avoid this gym.

Negative experience: Would give this place zero stay away if you no what's good for you. Absolutely disgusting excuse for a company falsely sign you up with a trial run with 7 days to cancel, and then tie you into a 6 month contract without you knowing, my carer tried to cancel a day before the free trial ended which was rejected they have taken money from the bank without consent its now been 6 months and we are still fighting for them to cancel it iv never known a money begging company like this and by the looks of Google reviews we are not the only one with the same problem we have now contacted trading standards because what they are doing is falsely signing you and then holding u under a contract that was never even signed !! YOU have been asked multiple times to cancel it we have never even stepped foot in your gym the way you treat your customers is vile and for people like me who struggle majorly with my disabilities and anxiety on a daily basis you should be ashamed of yourselfs

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to leave a review as I felt the gym was really welcoming and clean, the receptionist lexi was really friendly and gave a warm welcome when entering the gym, she also makes the best protein shakes, staff are always friendly best gym I’ve been to in ages and I would recommend it to everyone.

I can not speak highly enough of Shaun Mark the personal trainer that is working with me to achieve my goals... Shaun has mountains of knowledge not only about training your body but also in nutrition. Shaun listened to what I wanted to achieve and went though the plan that he had tailed to my own personal needs.. I highly recommend Shaun to anyone that what's to change there life style.... Negative experience: I’m sure the gym itself is great, however members of staff such as ‘Kerri’ tie you into 6 month contracts you cannot get out of, whilst promoting a free session- without actually revealing this. Really really poor selling techniques, especially during a cost of living crisis and although ‘legal’ it is shocking that they are more concerned about £ than creating a good reputation for the gym. Shocking please avoid and try a different gym within the area where you won’t be scammed.

Fantastic experience: Each trainer has a different style, so we always get a different session. All the trainers are friendly, fully explain each exercise and correct you if you are struggling. All sessions are a good full body workout. I've done well over 50 sessions now and every session has been different. I always come away feeling fully worked out.

Negative experience: Decent gym amenities, certainly better than their customer service. Unsurprisingly the reviews on this page have summed up my experience at FHF, that they make it difficult to cancel membership and are almost impossible to contact when you need them. Not the professionalism I’d expect from a service provider.

Positive experience: y6 weeks holiday!! Young kids need to be shown how to respect a gym. Going on equipment and doing one rep on a machine each wasting time, leaving weights on the bar and equipment they use. Taking up nearly the whole dumbell area, trying all the different weighted dumbells and not putting them back on the rack. Not knowing how to use equipment properly and safely. One lad grab my bar 3 times while I was unracking it, walking past. I could have got hurt if I'd not noticed. I don't see point in having a gym if staff ain't going to tell people how to use equipment safely. Especially when there's enough staff on at one time who can help people,when there doing it terribly wrong. This is the only issue I have lately. I do really like firehouse and the atmosphere it's really good.

Fantastic experience: The staff are amazing and very friendly, the atmosphere of the gym is great and welcoming. Considering the size of the gym, the variety of equipment is good which allows alternative exercises to be performed if busy. I wouldn’t recommend any other gym in the area!

Positive experience: It's a fairly good gym. Decent equipment, I don't do any of the classes so I can't comment on those . The staff that I've interacted with have always seemed friendly and knowledgeable. A couple of grumbles though - and this isn't necessarily the gym's fault - one of the reasons I stopped going to PureGym which is virtually next door to this place was because there were too many people just sat around taking up equipment and scrolling social media on their phones. Well this place is going the same way. Instagram wannabes who are more interested in posing than exercising. Personally I think they should ban mobile devices in gyms. There's no need for them. Put your phone down and train!!

Negative experience: I would avoid at all costs. The gym takes photos of you without any prior notice or permission and plasters these photos on social media & printed signage as advertisement.

Fantastic experience: This place is brilliant!! There are many gyms out there, but the firehouse is the only one where that from the moment when you walk in the front desk, the ladies and gentlemen look genuinely glad to see you. They call you by your first name and help you with whatever you want. This is a gym. But what makes this gym so different is the community inside. On this level, the firehouse just can not be beaten. 98% of the people you come across are warm and friendly. The classes are really, in my eyes, funny and tough, which is what you want if you are not sure what you're doing and don't wanna go at it alone. But don't listen to me... Come in and get a day pass and see for yourself! It's a yes from me

Fantastic experience: Really Friendly gym!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym, great equipment and very friendly staff. The range of equipment (especially the number of racks, barbells and platforms) is brilliant and it is all maintained to a great standard. The gym doesn't get horribly busy like other gyms, but at the same time there usually a good atmosphere - feels like people are taking their workouts seriously. When I had a serious knee injury and couldn't go for a few months, all I had to do was ring up and they froze my membership and payments until I was ready to come back - no paperwork needed.

Negative experience: Poor customer service. I never received a contract, and I was never guided through the setup process. Tried contacting several times, but could never get through and haven't my issue properly addressed. I also was never told the cancellation period over the phone. Not sure if any of this is legally binding? I've been a member of Virgin Active for a few years and not once had an issue like this, they get things sorted straight away, they have professional, legally binding and WRITTEN contracts making it fair for both parties. I'm probably going to have to pay my membership off in full to avoid stress, go back to my previous gym, which is worth every single penny extra. Didn't get the chance to go to Firehouse Fitness once, as I was ill with covid within my "free period". Poor service, sorry - first bad review I've had to leave in my life :/

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of firehouse gym since April 2021, i originally got off to a slow start going to classes a few days a week and gradually increased that over time and now i try to go most days to do a 45 minute class, giving myself maybe one day off.Before i joined Firehouse I'd not been to a gym in a good 15yr, i thought i'd never enjoy going to the gym and got my exercise from a few long walks a week, however Firehouse has changed my whole perception of gyms, the staff are all very friendly, very encouraging and always willing to help and motivate members. I genuinely do enjoy my 45 min classes, i feel much better after going and i'm motivated to go, which i never thought i would be. I'm much fitter, healthier and happier and have already recommended the gym to a number of friends, two have already joined as members.

Fantastic experience: All the equipment is very modern and clean, everything works as it should but what I love most about firehouse is the team, the personal trainers, receptionists, sales team.. everyone that works there. I would like to mention all of them but I don’t know everyone’s names, Libby, Joe, Shaun, Emma, Paige, Celia, Dan, Felix.. every single one of them. They make you feel very welcome and they help you with everything. SUPERB!
