Positive experience: Good small gym but not crowded, nice large swimming pool and tennis courts. The place is clean and the staff is nice. The only drawback is that you can't use it during school hours.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, only hard to book courts on weekends.

Fantastic experience: UCS Active is one of the best fitness facilities I have experienced in Hampstead, the staff are super friendly, approachable and will go out of there way to help. There's a lot of activities and classes available, I especially enjoy the Fury and Indoor Cycling Classes, the instructors are fantastic and they definitely make the classes so much more fun. I would highly recommend UCS Active!

Negative experience: Great pool and decent gym at a reasonable price but the place is so badly run it's shambolic. Junior staff aren't allowed to do what's necessary to treat members fairly. Senior staff just aren't around when they are needed.

Fantastic experience: It is a lovely and pleasant swimming pool. If you’re only interested in the gym, you may find it a bit overpriced, especially given that it’s open for the public only outside 8 am-6 pm on weekdays. But that’s all outweighed by the public you tend to see here: very polite staff and pleasant attendees.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym a few weeks ago and the facilities are great. However, part of the crowd doesn’t seem to be mindful of other users, reserving multiple equipment simultaneously, which is annoying. P.S. I have to say the PT Natasa Karankevic is great, always polite, happy and helpful.

Negative experience: If you think that people should take the a shower before jumping (often sweaty) into the pool, this is not the place for you. I have been member of UCS active for about a year and complained several times (also in writing) about this, but the rule of taking a shower before swimming is just not policed/enforced, which is quite gross. I do suggest visiting the facility in between pool shifts to see how people go in the water without taking a shower before becoming members. I'd give one star only but apart from the dirtiness of the water, the facilities are quite nice, hence the second star. What a shame!

Fantastic experience: This is such a well organised day camp. The multi-activity camp is full of new and stimulating experiences like laser tag, karate classes, darts.. My children love every minute.

Gym equipment to the highest specification everything an avid gym goer could ask for. Staff are brilliant, very friendly and knowledgeable will go out of their way to help with anything. Lovely pool and kid fit sessions which my children thoroughly! Top class establishment!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for many years and it's by far and away the best gym and swimming pool experience in North London, if not the city. The staff have all helped me out over the years, are hugely experienced, welcoming and courteous. I swim twice a week and I love the pool. I've read a few reviews commenting about the temperature and 'pool-etiquette' which I'd like to address. I've been training there for a long, long time and if you find it too cold then I'd suggest you are possibly not moving fast enough. It's a swimming pool not a jacuzzi. I've trained in swimming pools all across the UK and the temperature is perfect. Furthermore, I've not had any problems in terms of pool-etiquette, the rules are set out clearly on the wall and the lifeguards and staff are very helpful in maintaining good lane management. As with any swimming pool, if you follow the rules and act responsibly then you won't have any problems. The Paul Dillon Swimming School that operates there is fantastic with many of the staff having swam at competitive levels. The adult swim squads will certainly put you through your paces & Paul also provides training for adults regardless if you are a beginner or looking to improve your technique or speed. Whether it be from the reception staff, the cleaners, the managers, the gym-team/Personal Trainers or the swimming staff - the level of customer service I have always found to be exemplary and it has a real 'family' atmosphere. They care about their clients and it shows. I can't recommend UCS Active highly enough.

Fantastic experience: The best swimming lessons! Wonderful pool for teaching children how to swim. You can choose from one teacher to one child, one teacher to two children along with other choices. I spent an hour watching the swimming teachers giving 110% to all the kids in their care. The teachers were all so fit, full of energy and enthusiastic. It was pure joy to watch the children being taught, being so encouraged and having so much fun. There's a nice gallery where parents and carers can watch their children having a brilliant time, achieving their goals of swimming well and thoroughly enjoying the whole experience. So professional. Five, big, splish, splash, splosh, gold stars. Well done!

Fantastic experience: UCS Active's excellent pool is their jewel in their crown - so well managed and clean (also the floor in the changing area leading from the showers is constantly mopped). Very family friendly - it is in a school after all - and feels like a community really, underpinned by friendly staff team. Caters well for all fitness levels. Great range of classes in the studio timetable. Staff are always approachable and encouraging with advice and tips. The Gym is modern with a balanced range of equipment and a focused working atmosphere. Having Physio Fitness on site is a real bonus and the Personal Trainers are also first class in my experience. I've been a member for twelve years and counting...

Negative experience: So they charge £10 for a guest pass even if a parent is a full paying member on a £60 monthly subscription. No wonder the tiny gym is completely empty.

Negative experience: Pricing not as shown on the website. Went to sign up with my daughter (aged 12) having checked the price plans online. However, was told that she would have to pay twice the price shown as apparently the website is wrong.. The staff could not provide any explanation or help and could only present me with a generic feedback form with no contact information and a card for one of the fitness instructors. A waste of time and very disappointing. Given that the website is clearly intended to provide clear information on the facilities and pricing, they could at least check that it's correct and / or honour the prices shown if there is an error or offer some other form of solution.

Negative experience: I understand this minute gym is based In Hampstead and can charge this ridiculous amount of money... Swimming pool is always too cold Changing rooms are messy and many lockers are broken and no secure. Gym area is far too small and busy with trainers who cant train... Opening hours from 6pm to 10pm...is this a joke?

Fantastic experience: I have had the chance to go back to UCS active a few times recently and was surprised and impressed by the radical change I experienced 1- The communication was pleasant and very clear , it took me 5 minutes to pick up the activity schedule for kids and understand from the manager what was available for kids' age and abilities. A few years ago it felt like impossible to undertand what activites were actually running for kids; 2- The manager Jes was very responsive, kind and helpful in helping us navigate the facilities and the new activities; 3- I was impressed to see my friends who have been members being truly excited by the activities and classes 4- the zumba class was just fantastic ....a massice change from a few years ago. We are very pleased to see that those beautful facilities are finally being used to provide a truly great experience.
