Fantastic experience: Before joining Arena Gym, I was terrified and genuinely hated the idea of stepping into a gym. That all changed when I signed up and met my personal trainer, Graham. I’m now almost a year into my journey, and the difference in my strength and overall health is incredible. Graham’s expertise and genuine care for my wellbeing have been a game changer. We work hard during sessions, but it’s never without fun and laughter. Both Graham and Martin create such a positive, welcoming environment. I’ve never felt more comfortable in a gym – there’s no judgment, only support from everyone, including the other members. If you’re looking for a gym where you can push yourself and still enjoy the process, Arena Gym is the place to be.

Fantastic experience: We started the year with low energy, lost on how to approach diet and fitness. We reached out to Martin; being highly recommended to us by friends. As early as the initial meet, Martin guided us through food suggestions in relation to our personal goals. Where you may usually expect the opposite, the nutritional guidance actually opened up so many food options for us, as before we would restrict ourselves or give up on diets after burnout or hunger spells. Martin’s knowledge and approach is extremely refreshing, the information shared surrounding nutrition is something we will forever refer to. The fitness sessions were amazing, all demonstrated, guided and supported where needed. Considering how I am always prone to injury, from Martin’s guidance and care, the workouts achieved great results with no injury whatsoever - continuing to fuel more energy into the week and always looking forward to the next session. The gym space is incredible, being upbeat, with plenty of equipment and areas for space to allow for ‘you do you’ moments. Thank you Martin, you carry on doing you! You’re the best! We are so grateful.

Negative experience: Very small claustrophobic gym. Too hot. Poor ventilation, making for a poor work lot. No space downstairs for proper dumbbell use. Will not be going again.

Fantastic experience: A brilliant gym helped me to prepare for the army building up both my strength and cardio great staff and a great community with members always there to give you an extra tip to make your life easier nothing bad to say about the equipment everything is spaced out nicely and you never feel crowded. Changing rooms are always kept clean and the gym has a great choice on drinks in its vending machine at good prices. Only bad thing I would say is I believe the deadlifting spot in the bottom of the gym is on a slant as I would have to put two smaller plates next to the weights to stop the bar from rolling back. Other than that I would recommend this gym to anyone

Positive experience: A great gym with the best equipment I've ever used and by far the best equipment in the surrounding area! It's always clean with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I would like to see it open longer on the weekends as it's shut by noon, which makes it difficult to get to if you have other morning commitments.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Gym and Fitness space, everything you could possibly need under one roof. Substantial equipment for all fitness levels and needs. Highly recommend to anyone who is a super pro right down to a gym novice like me. Fitness coaches available on site, and for personal training session plans if required. You will always feel welcome here right from day one.

Fantastic experience: I have gone to the Arena on and off for 8 years and been trained by Martin. The atmosphere in the gym is great with members from age 18 to 80. Martin is knowledgeable and patient when it comes to explaining the equipment and doing PT sessions.

Fantastic experience: A brilliant gym with kind experienced staff. Arena is a very friendly and very well equipped gym. Excellent facilities for all abilities and training programmes. The staff are all kind and very knowledgeable. A light fun atmosphere means there’s no pressure, other customers become friends. Different classes run every day and are professional, they are included in the very well priced membership fee. All in all this is the best gym in Newark, ten out of ten!!!

Fantastic experience: I've been training at gyms for 40 plus years, and at this gym for around 4. The equipment is excellent, it a proper gym for all around fitness enthusiasts of all ages. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There's always an excellent atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: I honestly can’t praise the gym and owners enough! Everyone is friendly, there’s plenty of help when you need it and lots of support no matter what stage you’re at. The gym is always spotlessly clean and all the current safety measures are in place. It’s the only gym I’ve been to where I’ve felt part of a family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Fantastic experience: If you want a gym that is friendly, with great staff with loads of experience. Great equipment. Free parking. Then this is the place for you. A mix of ages and abilities so you don't need to worry about feeling out of place. The trainers are all really knowledgeable and always on hand to help you. They offer pt sessions if you want one on one training, nutrition to help you lose weight or to help with your training. All in all a good place to be where you are treated as one of the family and not just a number on the books.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Arena fitness for over 20 years, from it's it's previous location on Appleton gate and now the new site. This new building has much more space and a varied range of new equipment. However the friendly welcoming atmosphere is still the same as it always has been. The gym suits people of all ages and abilities so don't worry about giving it a go.

Fantastic experience: Welcoming, friendly staff and other gym users. Clean pleasant surroundings. I didn't feel uncomfortable in the gym they have a wide range of clients spanning all age groups. Lovely place to work out. Would recommend to anyone no matter what your age, size or fitness level.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Arena for nearly 3 years now on the recommendation of 2 separate friends. I had P.T with Martin for 2 years and on my own for the rest of the time. I’d never done this type of thing before and Martin gave me targeted programmes to help fitness and strength for other sports. He became a mentor and friend. The gym is well run, clean and all the other members are friendly. I’ve never felt out of place, there are people of all ages and abilities I would recommend it to anyone

Fantastic experience: As my first experience of a gym I couldn't be happier. Everyone is so friendly, you don't feel judged and if you're socially awkward like me this is the gym for you lol. Everything is kept clean, tidy and looking great and youve always got support if you need it.

Fantastic experience: At Arena you don't just get excellent instructors that are professional you get a smile and a kind word that will put you at ease the minute you walk in.....Training at Arena is second to none and if your stuck on anything there is always someone there to help you out....Arena is split over 2 floors with top of the notch equipment excellent for cardio general fitness....Arena has a varied range of classes and can adapt any kind of programme to suit any age group which makes the Arena gym family friendly as well as an awesome place to train..... the owners and staff are pretty awesome too... cheers to you all.....kel.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Staff always friendly, welcoming and professional. Good range of equipment, all new, for novices or experts with advice freely available. They are taking all measures to keep the gym Covid free with plenty of sanitisers and paper towels to clean equipment after use. They also offer Personal Training sessions that are excellent. Great gym.

Fantastic experience: Arena Health and Fitness is an great gym it caters for all ages and abilities and Martin,Graham and the rest of the Arena team are always there on hand to help you when ever you need it by creating programmes for your personal needs or one to one personal training and always encouraging you to achieve your goals,I've just returned after the lockdown and they've worked hard and created a clean and safe environment for everyone to workout in and I would recommend this gym to anyone it's 1st class.

Fantastic experience: A person is made very welcome at this gym. It covers 3 floors with the addition of a sauna and sun bed room too. The gym is very friendly and the personal training is excellent.
