Fantastic experience: The new steps into the pool are a god send and make this great venue even better. Staff are always friendly, water is warm, changing rooms clean and good parking available.

Fantastic experience: A great local swimming pool. Well maintained with toddler and larger pool. Free car parking behind. A bit more expensive than some council pools but you can swim for longer.

Fantastic experience: The building is lovely and clean, changing rooms nice with hot showers. The pool area is great, and dim lighting helps if your abit self conscious about your body shape or size like me. Both pools are lovely, warm, and clean. We have become regular visitors to the pool. Lots of other activities are available in the baths. Free parking available, fully accessible for disabled visitors.

Positive experience: The pools, reception, viewing area are all impeccable but I can't give 5 stars at the changing rooms are always below par (speaking for ladies only). Changing rooms and toilets always stink (to the point where you have to hold your breath) the floors seems to rarely get mopped down so you find yourself dodging pools with hair and bits even though there is a squeedgy right there. It really brings down the rest of the facility. Would be great if they could pay more attention here.

Positive experience: Good facility clean and well maintained, just a little lacking. Would appear that they don't get many outsiders. But not quite (league of gentlemen) local. Reasonable price and availability. A good option when the hotel pool is not available

Negative experience: Sunday late morning, late January. Rammed - couldn't access the small pool and absolutely freezing cold. Kids shivering the whole time. Showers luke warm. No fun whatsoever. Energise Acomb it is from now on.

Fantastic experience: My first time with the grandchildren here, but got a lovely surprise, two pools one for smaller children with plenty of floats,and water toys to choose from, my oldest grandchild enjoyed the Crazy Fun inflatable assault course that ran for 1 hour at a great price of £7.50. Pool and changing room lovely and clean,well staffed with lifeguards,and nice welcome from reception staff.

Fantastic experience: Went here for the first time today for a swim with my 2 young children. Really nice leisure centre and the pool is really nice. Will definitely be coming back here regularly.

Fantastic experience: Great pool. Doesn't usually get too busy. Changing rooms can get a bit wet and cold. Would be good if there was a squeegee mop available to remove puddles. My son has been having some 1-on-1 lessons during the summer which have helped tremendously. Update: he's now swimming! Loves to go every weekend. Take a poncho to throw on in the changing room to stay warm.

Fantastic experience: Moved out of York a few years back and wanted a pool in the area, discovered this one and glad I did. It's always clean and the staff always friendly. I also started using the gym too - its small but has everything I need so no complaints there either.

Positive experience: Very clean pool (only been in the small pool with my daughter) and friendly staff! We love the toddler session as they bring out pool toys and have music playing - it's a great session! Few pointers - 1) Not many changing cubicles that you can fit in with a child comfortably, so during the busier sessions you may have to get changed in the main locker area. 2) There's only 1 toilet that you can fit in with a child. 3) Bring indoor flip flops too as you have to take your shoes off before entering the changing area (which does make it much cleaner!) but I still personally wouldn't want to walk bare foot (they do have flip flops for sale which is great if you forget some).

Positive experience: Be aware that if you're helping children into the inflatable (my 11 could get on solo, my 8 year old needed a boost) the lifeguard will make you remove your locker key band and place it into a bucket at the side of the pool with everyone else's, don't leave anything of value in your locker!

Fantastic experience: We take the little one here for the small pool. Place is clean and tidy, not too busy and numbers are controlled in the small pool so it didn't get to crowded. I think the prices are reasonable and staff are always friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: 25m pool, clean changing areas with lockers. Friendly staff. Gym facilities well maintained. Pool tends to get busy on a weekend and weekday evenings but well managed

Fantastic experience: Has its own car park. Pool areas are nice and clean and well staffed. Main pool is 25m and there is also a baby pool. Need a pound coin to use the lockers and don't forget to take your shoes off in reception. Maybe take flip flops.

Fantastic experience: Really great place, clean and friendly, I personally can't swim so just stand in the pool doing resistance workouts, only thing I would pick at is there isn't any swimming aids available for adults, if there is I haven't seen them

Positive experience: Great little pool we're happy to support,like the idea of taking shoes off before going to the changing rooms! However improvements would be an increase in water temp in the baby pool as it was freezing, and having a swim suit spinner to dry them after a swim is common place in most other pools.

Negative experience: The pool is closed and will be for several more months. I went to post a letter to the manager. I have been a regular swimmer since the pool opened and I will be when it opens again. It can't happen too soon. How can I give a star rating when it's closed I put one so the questionnaire will go.

Positive experience: A very handy facility, nice to see it available again during the Boris Bug. Haven't quite got the hang of whatever the machine is that wants to log your picture inside the doorway .... doesn't do anything unless you remove your facemask, and all it then does is tell you to put a facemask on .... someone's idea of a joke, or what? ... and a shame numbers are still well down as being the only person in the pool sometimes is great for avoiding the occasional peak problem of slobs leaving their clothes in cubicles even whilst they swim, but it lacks atmosphere. Looking forward to making our recent 'toe dipping' more regular to regain the habit.

Fantastic experience: The family thought that this was a fantastic pool. The changing rooms were fantastic and really clean. The pool its self was really well maintained with some nice bonus water features to keep the kids entertained. There were also swimming aids available if needed.
