Gainz Station - House Of Gainz

Fantastic experience: Old school gym with good equipment, dumbbell set goes up to 80kg. Charged us £7 for a day pass when it was meant to be £5 as seen on the website. Has a really good room for posing, and communal tripods.

Negative experience: Firstly, before this review, I would like to thank Caitlin for her time and communication. The same cannot be said for the manager. When you sign up to the gym, they advertise that the gym is open from 5am-12am. What they don’t tell you on their website is that you have to open up the gym yourself, if you are there first at 5am. This involves opening up a shutter by myself (in the dark car park) at 5am, as they have no lighting in the car park or at their shutter. I believe this is unsafe. I messaged on the 2nd February, asking to cancel my membership, as I believe this should be stated when the membership starts. I had no response to my email, so I rang the gym to share the same message. Caitlin tried to help me, but the manager said this was unable to happen, stating that other members are there within 10-15 minutes. I should not have to rely on other members of the gym, I should be able to safely enter the gym within the opening times stated on their website. Also, this is untrue, as on multiple occasions I have turned up at 5:30am and the shutter has been down. I believe the manager has tried to accuse me of lying, when all I want is to be able to enter the gym safely. I do not believe this gym is safe for young women wanting to go to the gym by themselves. Edit based on response: Unmanned is not the same as un open. Members should not have to open the gym by themselves, and as stated, I do not feel comfortable, as a young woman, opening the gym myself at 5am. Also, I find your tone condescending. I am allowed to change my training regime whenever I feel. I haven’t “now decided” that I don’t want to go at 5am, I sent an email in January when I started going at 5am and couldn’t get in. It was only then that I was made aware of this system, which is nowhere on your website. I have not been back since as I believe this is inappropriate for my safety.

Fantastic experience: whatever i say can not do this place justice after being out of training for quite a while and feeling pretty fed up with how i looked i saw a post for a new gym opening. best decision i ever made joining the place. it has that old school friendly feel that most gyms just lack these days. every member no matter what size or level of ability everyone is happy to help each other that with the no nonsense kit is worth the membership alone. been a member since the old site opened and will never go anywhere else. try the place out well worth the visit

Fantastic experience: Honestly best gym I've been to, great bodybuilding old school atmosphere, full of state of the art cybex equipment and great attachments such as gym pin bars. There is even a communal tripod for everyone to use if they want to record videos. Great loud music and nice and clean. The lady at the counter was very kind and helpful and the clothing is top tier. Definitely come here if you get a chance.

Fantastic experience: A real gym! Absolutely love training here. There aren't many gyms around anymore that have what GS does. Old school kit that is in perfect working order, friendly staff, members and good tunes. Creating a positive atmosphere to train in. Highly recommended to anyone serious about getting it done!

Fantastic experience: This gym is the true meaning of old school. If you want to feel like you're training in the old temple gym (just with a walk upstairs instead of down...) then you're in for a treat. The staff, other members & guests of the gym are all super welcoming & kind regardless of your goal, you do not have to be a bodybuilder to love training here. Pleasure to train here & excited to see the gym grow even more :)
