Cherry Dance - Academy of Burlesque and Pole Fitness

Negative experience: I started my pole journey with Cherry while studying at Sunderland University. As well as the classes offered at uni I started attending a second studio’s classes so I could access/learn as many classes as possible. Once the university sessions stopped I decided to book into some of Cherry’s general classes to improve my skills & blocked booked as this is the best option financially. When I returned to Cherry’s classes, I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable for attending the other studio, essentially being given an ultimatum by Cherry to decide which studio to attend because she didn't not want me attending both. However, Cherry continued to further insult me by bringing up a move I'd posted on my social media which I'd been taught at the other studio and said that I was doing it "wrong" and it looked "ugly". After this encounter I was so uncomfortable and disheartened by her comment, I did not attend any further lessons with Cherry resulting in losing money in the process. I have not returned nor do I plan too. I know a few other students that attend both studios, none of them had been asked to chose and I don't believe they had those kind of comments. I only hope others don't have situations like this in the future. I did enjoy my time there but I do not appreciate how poorly I was spoken to and treated.

Fantastic experience: I've attended cherry dance for 5 years. Have thoroughly enjoyed it, learning new routines and being creative. Cheryl is very encouraging and I highly recommend if you are looking for fitness and fun.

Fantastic experience: Being a new mum and fitness-phobe the idea of starting a pole class was daunting. At my first session I was a nervous wreck.. a few months on I feel stronger, fitter and more confident and look forward to my classes each week, even signing up for extra Flex courses! Cherry and Laura are fantastic instructors and create an encouraging, inclusive and empowering environment where everyone is part of a team and supports each other. I'd recommend anyone thinking about signing up to just give it a try. #thisgirlcan

Fantastic experience: At Cherry Towers you’re guaranteed an amazing atmosphere, a bunch of friendly faces and a whole lot of fun! I absolutely love my Tuesday nights here. Cherry and the team are helping me go from strength to strength and I love feeling my confidence grow. There is no problem that is too small for them to help with and they always make time for everyone. Keep being amazing, #TeamCherry!

Fantastic experience: Cherry Towers is a safe and supportive space unlike any training environment I have ever experienced before, and this is down to Cherry and Laura, the amazing trainers who single handedly transformed my confidence and self esteem from the minute I joined the team. It’s so clear to see that Cherry dedicates herself not only to sharing her passion, But also to assuring the well being of every single one of her students inside the studio and out. It’s inspring to see such a boss-ass business woman touch the lives of anyone who walks through her door, and I can honnestly say I have not only gained a training team, but a family! I cannot sing this ladies praises enough, her positive attitude is contagious and inspiring and I could not reccomend Cherry Towers Academy Of Dance more! I really cannot say a bad word about Cherry or her amazing bespoke dance academy, her level of professionalism and commitment to the team is unbelievable, whether your 18 or 80, cherry will welcome you into the family and help you in your journey every step of the way.

Fantastic experience: It is simply not possible to say a bad word about Cherry, Laura or any part of my experiences within the year and a half I've been training at Cherry Dance. As a male, there is so much potential stigma and worry about entering into a sport like Pole and I have been made to feel more than welcome, this is no exclusivity, no unprofessionalism and no animosity amongst any of the various sessions and days I've frequented which is the BEST possible characteristic to have in a studio. Having spent a lot of time amongst dancers and performers of all types, I cannot put into words just how rare it is to have instructors who place such value on your personal development. I cannot, to this day, understand how Cherry has the time to do so many workshops, pole sessions, flexibility sessions and private tutorship whilst also maintaining support amongst the Cherry Team. I've been to several pole classes in the north and there have been many good ones, but there is only one Cherry Dance.

Fantastic experience: Before I started taking lessons here, I was unsure of what to think of Pole dancing, basically what it'd be like for guys. Since starting in September 2017 though, I've went from strength to strength both inside Cherry's studio and outside of it as well. These lessons have helped to build up my overall fitness, confidence, and love for the sport. I've also gained not only new friends, but an utterly amazing family. Both Cherry and Laura are unreal teachers and amazing people who are so helpful in so many ways, and I could never thank them enough for all that they've done to help me throughout, and I know that they will continue to help me grow not only the amount of moves I know and my fitness levels, but me myself as a person, and this is the same for anyone who takes part in the sessions I'm in or other sessions that I don't, Pole or otherwise, and I'm sure the same would absolutely be said for anyone else who thinks about joining and would join. To;dr: Cherry and the whole family are in short absolutely unreal, and Cherry is highly professional, and extremely caring and welcoming as a teacher, and also as a person.

Fantastic experience: Cherry and Laura are the best instructors I could of ever wished for. Always helping me when I can’t get a move down and both always give huge support and praise to each member that they train. Couldn’t recommend Cherry Towers more!

Fantastic experience: I love this place so much it had majorly improved my confidence and social skills I'm learning new things every week and even when I struggle I have the amazing support of cherry and everyone there helping me. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I love coming to classes here, the environment it so warm and friendly and the people always push you to do your best. The instructors Laura and Cherry have really supported me in my progress and I am thoroughly enjoying my time there!!
