Standish Leisure Centre

Negative experience: We were waiting from 2 and was told that we had to wait till 3. Then some people came at 2:30 and they were allowed on even though we had been told that we had to wait until 3 and was waiting half and hour. Then at 3 we asked could we pay and they said that they would be just a moment, made us wait till ten past three and they kicked us off at just after ten to 4, and then told us that if we weren’t of at five to we would not be allowed on next weekend.

Fantastic experience: Have been going here for the last 4 years and it is the best gym I ever went to. It is small and cosy, there is a large variety of machines and equipment you can use in the gym, very good classes to attend, the trainers are fantastic, very knowledgeable and they offer constant encouragement.

Fantastic experience: Great facility for our local community, gym is busy but clean and tidy, have put up barriers around the boundary to repulse travellers, I thank them for that. Decent tunes on the overhead. Plenty of parking which is needed given the busy 4g pitches. Nice modern changing rooms and they run some good classes if you're into that. Pre teens can't use weights area (good/safe)

Fantastic experience: Best gym out of the be life group equipment all working and the recent move around means more accessible areas. Can get busy with kids at times and doesn't have a sauna or steam room like others but my husband has tried them all and goes to the gym 4 times a week and he prefers this one the most due to the equipment being newer and the machines he uses. Could have more classes downstairs is the only downside for me.

Fantastic experience: Went to an appointment for my wife who had been referred to the Be Well team. Met by Nicola who was welcoming and explained different scenarios. My wife elected to go to the Pulmonary Exercise Group at Robin Park. Had her first experience last Monday. She will certainly be going again to improve her mobility.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic all weather pitch,just watched under12's game

Positive experience: Been going since it opened and love the place. Two reasons for not giving 5 stars: 1. Selfish parents of kid footballers who think it's ok to park in disabled spaces and nothing gets done about. 2. Quick and easy maintenance on the machines not getting done.

Negative experience: This place is exactly what is wrong with society and part arlf why we have so much anti social behaviour by young kids. Their pitches are often empty at weekends and Bank Holidays. 10 lads went for a kick about (aged 10). They advertise pay per play @ £2.60 per child. But that is for the first 8. The extra 2 players cost £16.70 because they won't let 10 kids play without paying fill pitch price. This is not a team this is 10 kids/friends of friends. Wanting to play. Absolute disgrace. Their 10. The pitches aren't being used. No common sense no care just profit, profit, profit. We will never keep kids off the street if we charge toooooo much for them to access things.

Fantastic experience: This review is so overdue. The staff here were so kind to and unfazed by me (I am trans) during the post lockdown phase, but still needing regular PCR tests (Due my health), that I truly appreciate their help and commitment to the folks of Standish and surrounds. Well done you all xx

Fantastic experience: I can't praise this gym enough joined last wk and had an induction with addie .who was soo professional, informative and couldn't have been any better.really motivated me and all his guidance and support was superb Really grt team onsite esp this instructor .Many many thks it has really inspired my my journey to better health and fitness..The induction was superb,the plan is really a grt motivating tool in my programme. He was excellent .

Positive experience: Lovely staff and changing rooms are always clean. The gym itself is nice but because it’s a bit smaller it can get easily crowded. Could also do with more than 1 squat rack but they are limited with space.

Fantastic experience: New facilities. Excellent gym. Well arranged changing room and showers. Very helpful staff. Trainers are keen to help and knowledgeable. Off peak it's not busy so no problem getting on the training machines.

Positive experience: The gym and staff are brilliant but unfortunately there's always loads of groups of teenagers in talking and playing on their phones clogging up the equipment. Tried different times but it doesn't change much. Changing gyms when contract is up.

Fantastic experience: Great to see Standish Leisure Centre open. Wide range of gym equipment, classes both live and virtual and outdoor facilities. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. Of the classes attended both virtual and live I would recommend any. Fully trained staff ensure that each session is a pleasure to attend. More please.

Fantastic experience: So glad they decided to build this in Standish! There are a variety of appliances, and classes to choose from. It is fantastic to see that new tech is being used in order to offer even more choice especially when it comes to group classes. The staff are always more than happy to help. The fact that you can use any of the other facilities in the bourough makes a membership feel like a steal.

Fantastic experience: I just going to Standish leisure centre at 4 pm it's closed, Please correct hours for Sat and Sun instead of 05:00pm to 04:00 pm.
