Negative experience: Terrible first day experience, Got my membership the night before, got to the gym 5am the next day to be told the gym is shut and no one there to explain nothing, no email no text to inform members, nothing! To me that is as incompetent as it can get when it comes to customer services, a lot of effort to go to the gym, never mind at 5AM in December Scottish weather. It’s unacceptable to waste people’s time like that. Very disappointed ☹️

Fantastic experience: The gym group Irvine is one of the friendliest gyms I’ve been to with a great atmosphere. All the pts are very friendly, really helpful and nothing is a hassle to them! Very well spaced out gym and cleanliness is great! I’ve been going to this gym since it opened and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Positive experience: This is a great gym to choose if you want a no-nonsense place to work out and get back in shape. It seems to be missing a rowing machine (or I just haven’t found it yet!) and the lockers don’t seem very secure, but for the price and the contract terms, you can’t beat it in this area.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a really friendly atmosphere. Something for everyone with a good weights section, cardio machines and classes. Fantastic experience: Recently joined The Gym after a few years off. The atmosphere along with the staff are brilliant. I've spent most of the time with Jimmy, who's been helping me out with form, and making sure everything is going well. The range of equipment is good, so there's plenty to keep you busy :-)

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed my work out . The place is spotless…. Only one little niggle is James the AGM needs to iron his polo shirt. But that’s me being picky.

Fantastic experience: Excellent value gym. Friendly atmosphere which makes you feel at ease. The gym is always very clean and tidy. Good range of equipment and lots of classes to choose from. The Staff are super helpful and knowledgeable and are always happy to help me with anything I’m unsure of.

Positive experience: The gym itself and equipment are fine for the membership cost, but unlike other Ayrshire Gym Group gyms, there is a very prominent culture of weights and plates being left out and on machines. This is not being addressed appropriately by management and makes the gym look untidy and is frustrating for other users.

Positive experience: First off the staff are excellent, first class service and nothings too much trouble. The equipment is very good and have a good range of different types. It’s nicely laid out and easy to find yourself a routine. Everyone just gets on with their own thing and no one bothers you, any interaction with other users I’ve had I’ve found them friendly and polite. Now, some issues: The location for me is a bit of a pain, my problem perhaps as I don’t drive. So I have a fairly long walk from either the train station or even more if I get the bus. Unfair I suppose to complain about that as it’s my problem not the gym but worth knowing about if these same things affect you. It is pretty far over at the very edge of Irvine main shopping area. It can be very busy, the app that you use will tell how approx how many people are using the gym. Very handy and useful but can also be off-putting. Taking concerns about covid aside, I will not go to the gym on a day I was intending to because of this. 30 people in what is quite a small area is a lot and you would wait for equipment. Facilities: I was extremely disappointed to find there wasn’t a dedicated mens and womens changing room with showers, you effectively shower in a toilet. Which feels odd and uncomfortable. I’m sure this could have integrated in the original design and layout. Although a small area to work with. It these are just minor gripes, if I had to pick one major complaint for me personally it would have to be the location. There were larger and closer units available for a while around the retail park that could have been used. It costs me a fortune in public transport in addition to the cost of the gym membership (which is cheap) and it’s a reason I am actively looking for somewhere closer. If this isn’t an issue for you then I highly recommend The Gym @ Irvine, probably for the staff alone.

Fantastic experience: Fab place. Easy to get in and out. No need to park and walk through a leisure centre etc to get in. Just straight in from the carpark. Everyone is focusing on themselves and not bothered about what everyone else is doing. It is light and airy, very spacious. Also very cheap.
