Fantastic experience: Awesome gym and great people. A friendly and helpful environment. A true Bristolian landmark. A must for any true fitness enthusiast

Fantastic experience: Lots of good weightlifting kit hopefully use again if passing

Negative experience: Decent equipment but could do with a deep clean. Showers are dirty and half turned into a storage room. Music is blasted at top volume through the speakers. Good range of equipment.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Bristol, the equipment looks rugged BUT are very high quality and are clearly very well maintained. Great atmosphere, wall art, music too. Miles better than the dime-a-dozen commercial gyms I have been to.

Fantastic experience: Decided to buy a day pass here. Soon as you walk in the walls around full with supplements you can buy, protein bars, drinks etc. once I bought the day pass, the gym is fairly old and rugged looking. However, the machines are high quality still and the metal plates do feel better than the rubber plates… maybe it’s placebo but I enjoyed that. If I lived local I would definitely pick this as my gym as it’s a no nonsense good old fashioned weight lifting gym

Fantastic experience: Great music, friendly staff, great equipment. Love the atmosphere. You have everything you need for bodybuilding, it's just what I was looking for, after trying out several gyms here in Bristol. I wouldn't go for something else than bodybuilding / powerlifting / fitness though. Crossfitters and weightlifters probably won't find the equipment they need ;) Pure old school bodybuilding vibe !

Positive experience: This is a great gym. Reminds me of the gym from Rocky - real people! They play good music and have all the equipment you need. Affordable too, plus you can take a friend as a guest for free on the weekend. Everyone is super friendly and the place has a positive atmosphere.

Negative experience: Nobody bothers to answer the phone email or message back and when they do answer the phone they put it down all I want to know is about an order and four days of trying is far to much

Fantastic experience: OLD SKOOL GYM WITH A NEW SKOOL FEEL. Perfect for first timers, professional athletes, females couples, young old etc. - What ever your fitness goals are!! Has friendly and knowledgeable staff, sports clothing and nutrition shop also on the premises so you can stock up on all your supplemental needs. Clean, spacious facilities, with a great weight selection and range of cardio and resistance machines you don't find in many of the commercial gyms. What really made me feel at ease is that the site has been updated to be covid safe. There lots of close links to public transport and Bristol town centre. Good space in the car park too.

Fantastic experience: Fully equipped 'proper' bodybuilding gym although it caters for anyone that is serious about their training. Loads of space over two floors, recently refurbished with new kit and a fresh look but it still retains that old school vibe it's famous for. Bristol's biggest & best supplement store doubles up as reception, with all the supplements that you could ask for and a smoothie & coffee bar to boot. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. Worth travelling to train here. Love it.

Fantastic experience: Focal point for all Gym's in Bristol, totally revamped and modernised whilst keeping the old school style. Best place to train for all backgrounds. Good and friendly crowd. The shop has a huge range of supplements to support your training, as well as options for post workout shakes at the juice bar. Owners have an extensive knowledge on health, fitness and bodybuilding!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training at LA GYM for many years. It’s always been my favourite place to train but I have to say with the major uplift over lockdown the gym now is providing a lot more under the new management. It’s a great training environment and now with the newly fitted SNUK shop I can also get all my supplements in the same place.

Negative experience: Really unfreindly care taker. I was thinking about joing the gym and wanted to look around as it's just opposit my bus stop to work, he tried to charge me £4 to use the toilet. Very bad customer experence.

Fantastic experience: Been going on and off for years here. Proper metal gym. No posers and lycra. Helpful knowledgeable customers and staff. Full range of free weights that go up every 5kg to over 100.

Fantastic experience: Just began training at LA Gym again after the lockdown & it's great to be back! The measures they have in place to compact the spread of the virus is brilliant. They read your temperature as you go in the gym, there are plenty of bottles of disinfectant to wipe down the equipment & benches & there is plenty of space between the machines & equipment to move around for social distancing. There is also hand sanitiser available as well to clean your hands as well as being able to wash your hands in the toilet. Still got a great social aspect & the new management are doing a good job.

Fantastic experience: LA Gym is my favourite gym in Bristol. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The average user of the gym is also very good natured and this gym has an excellent positive vibe around it. Way better than PureGym!

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a no BS powerlifting gym with punchbags then this is for you. Run by staff that lift, for people that lift. They have pre-workout, protein shakes, energy snacks for sale, so no need to bring loads of supplements with you. Dumbbells up to 70KG and plenty of squat racks; you can even park your bicycle inside if you cycle.
