Gymophobics Stafford

Fantastic experience: I reluctantly arranged a meeting because of health issues, turned up on the day not sure what I was expecting but was very pleasantly surprised by the warmth of welcome I received when I climbed those stairs and opened that door. Fortunately I saw the smiley face of Nicky who I knew and we sat down on comfy chairs in an area where you can grab a tea or coffee at the end of your session whilst seeing talked me through 'Gymophobics & it's story ' The gym comprises of ten work stations that you work around and each station has two identical machines. For your first 6 or so visits you are guided around the circuit by a trained member of staff who will help you set the seat height, adjust the air pressure on the machine and demonstrate how many reps to do. All the staff are marvellous, so friendly & helpful they really go the extra mile and you soon feel like you've been going forever. On every ninth visit you will have a review so if any station seems easy now, adjustments will be made to ensure your getting the workout you need. On my third review I was shown how each of the machines I had been using could be alternatively used to exercise a different range of muscles. So the leg curl becomes a leg extension, a biceps workout becomes a triceps workout etc. There's a stretch out machine at the end and an option to also use the vibro machines. These are lovely way to finish your circuit. There's a clean changing rooms with Toilet cubicles, coat rack and lockers. If you've thought about gyms but don't fancy getting the lycra on or wait endlessly for someone to stop hogging a machine out your fears aside and come take a look !

Fantastic experience: The most welcoming, proffessional and supportive team you could ask for!. A lovely clean environment with great equipment and to me equally as important is it's great atmosphere. Currently having a course of Lipo which i find relaxing , showing good results all round. Fantastic experience: I joined Gymophobics in 2022 after I decided it was about time I got fitter. I didn't enjoy going to the gym and had previously enjoyed an exercise class but that stopped due to COVID and sadly didn't start up again. Gymophobics suits me perfectly, the circuit takes 30 minutes and there are 2 x 45 minutes bootcamps every week if you want to do more, I attend the Monday night bootcamp and can recommend it. It's a lovely atmosphere, very friendly and fun - both staff and gym members. The instructors and volunteer instructors are there to help you not punish you. Highly recommended ⭐⭐

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic gym! I have never joined one before and I’m 47 years old, so a little hesitant. From the moment I did my trial to present day, Ive thoroughly enjoyed going and the fact that I can see amazing results in just a short space of time has been a life changer and a dream come true! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this gym to anyone, any age, any ability as everyone is catered for by a fantastic bunch of instructors! Fantastic experience: For many years I have tried slimming clubs and gyms and nothing has worked. Stafford Gymophobics has changed this and I can’t thank them enough. My fitness has improved, my shape changed and my weight is reducing. This is down to the friendly staff and their continuous help and support and guidance. Thank you ladies. Fantastic experience: As a former member of Gymophobics I knew I had to return when I developed a balance issue that meant a conventional gym would no longer be appropriate for me. The team of course welcomed me back with open arms and made me feel like I had never been away. They work with you and within your capabilities and aims to make the gym work for you. I rejoined at the end of Nov and only go twice a week but today I requested they weigh and redo my measurements. I was thrilled and emotional to find I have lost over 14inches and over a stone in weight. Whilst I am a firm believer that numbers are not everything when it comes to fitness seeing this change has bolstered me and my confidence. Thank you Gymophobics and especially Esther who has supported me so well. ❤️

Fantastic experience: Make it your New Year's resolution to join Staffords Gymophobics! I did it 17 years ago and it's the best thing I've ever done! The instructors are so friendly and supportive, whatever your capabilities. You owe it to yourself !

Fantastic experience: What a great year at Gymophobics Stafford. I was encouraged and supported with the LSD diet - how easy it was! I lost over a stone and many inches! I must say that the new Blasts really helped too. The instructors and members are so fabulous and I continue to meet many new lovely people. It’s one big happy family. Thanks everyone

Fantastic experience: I joined Gymophobics in January 2023 the best thing I have done feel better in yourself loose weight but most of all its ladies only gym and is so friendly with all staff and members they also do lots of events during the year and the money is raised to local charities well done Kay and team

Fantastic experience: This place is my happy place. For 30 minutes, twice a week I get to switch off completely and do something for myself. It is filled with joy each time you go, with the friendliest of people in both staff and members. It's not just a place for those who are looking to lose weight either. I joined for my mental and physical health but without wanting to lose weight. With regular reviews, the team encourage you no matter your shape or size, they work with you to achieve your goals. Last week I left buzzing when I was told by Kay that there was so much more they could push me with and that meant the world to me. To know that even someone like myself who isn't there to lose weight, that they recognised there was still things they could do to improve my tone and body really made my day. Thanks girls!

Fantastic experience: My daughter and granddaughter were coming for a few weeks when my Daughter suggested I should come and look around. To me a gym was a place where everyone had petite bodies and big muscles. How wrong I was. Coming to gymphophics has changed my life literally. I have several health issues which I thought wouldn't allow me to use a gym. The instructor asked me all about myself and what I would like to achieve. My goals were not to lose weight but to build up my muscle strength and to help my mental health by getting out. I have been coming for a while now and introduced my sister to gymphophics. Can't recommend enough for anyone who wants to feel better physically and mentally. Thankyou to you all

Positive experience: Been using gymaphobics for almost 12 months now. I have seen a big improvement in my ability to move more. I have varied health conditions which cause much pain and being able to move more easily. The staff are friendly and professional and each plan is personalised. If I miss sessions at the gym I can tell as tasks become more painful.

Fantastic experience: Have been a member before and have since rejoined. The gym and staff are brilliant and Iam really getting into the swing of regular exercise and actually enjoying it. The gym has recently been redecorated and has much brighter, fresher feel to it. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Gymophobics for over 15 years now and I enjoy exercising in a happy and relaxed atmosphere. All the staff are friendly, helpful and kind. I am now mid 70's and I remain very fit and healthy.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Stafford Gymophobics for over 15 years so have seen many changes. The current staff are especially knowledgeable and helpful, always willing to update your personalised exercise programme either on a regular basis or as you require. Going to exercise there is always a pleasant and rewarding hour in a friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to other ladies. It's a hidden gem in Stafford.

Fantastic experience: I’m not one for reviews but feel I have to leave one for this gym. I am a fairly new member and joined after being diagnosed with health issues. From the very first moment I walked in the atmosphere and the instructors incredible. That is not the only reason I want to write this today, I then hit a low in my personal life and went to see Kay in tears, the way she treated me the support and kindness and some really good advise meant I had a plan when I went back home and I will never forget this. I’m now in a position to go back and the ladies are going to ease me back into the gym. This is not just a gym it’s a family and I’m eternally grateful for all the love and support. It's still the best gym in Stafford and I would heartily recommend it to anyone who is wanting to improve their health and wellbeing or might be hesitating about joining a gym: "Gymophobics Stafford changed my life. It gave me back my confidence after surgery and I now consider it to be an essential part of my physical and mental health. I never thought I would join a gym but this one is different! Staff are attentive, knowledgable, cheerful. Programme is worked out to suit your health, age, fitness and regularly reviewed to make sure you are still meeting your goals. There are additional classes and diet groups for anyone who wants them. The staff worked incredibly hard to keep offering support online during covid and to amend procedures constantly to ensure safety during the various stages of re-opening. Members are also friendly, relaxed and several friendships and support groups have evidently been formed here. Can't fault it - I will be devastated if I ever have to move away from this gym!"

Fantastic experience: Great gym. I have been a member since April 2019. It is a great start to the day either before work or on days off. I have met lovely people in both instructors and other members and have made new friends. I would thoroughly recommend Stafford Gymophobics.

Fantastic experience: I joined in 2016 and love being a member of Gymophobics Stafford which is a comfortable, friendly, fun place with great instructors who tailors a program that suits my needs. This is consistently reviewed and changed to keep me motivated. Love the ladies I’ve met with many becoming good friends. They help with your diet and extra mini workouts. I love the weekly boot camps too!

Negative experience: Terrible trouble trying to cancel membership. If you look on their website all about joining not a word on how to cancel. My wife has rung the gym to cancel membership, they told her to ring an intermediatory body who collect the money etc. Rung them and they have told her to ring the gym. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Great place for ladies to exercise and well look after with regular reviews of programme. Great place for making new friends and for socialising. Arranging summer party and christmas afternoon tea. Does lots off events for charity.
