Fantastic experience: Excellent classes for kids. Well run, professional and fantastic coaching.

Fantastic experience: I've been training here for over a year and I'm having a really positive experience. The coaches are so friendly and welcoming which shapes the overall environment and atmosphere of the gym. Location is easy to get to and they have a variety of classes throughout the day. I highly recommend this place to everyone, but especially to women who are thinking about starting a martial art.

Negative experience: I would give it 3 stars but the black man shouted at my kids and even told him that he's worthless because he didn't punch properly. The teachers also don't know martial arts. Don't send your kids here

Fantastic experience: I've been training here for approximately 6 months and my experience has been great. The gym has a great culture/ atmosphere and is a fantastic place to train. The coaches are great, very friendly and always happy to help. My 5 year old son also attends the kids classes which are fun and engaging while still teaching the kids the required techniques, which is a great balance and he also loves attending.

Fantastic experience: My son has been training here for about 18 months, (maybe 2 years not exactly sure) he’s doing very well. He’s progressing through the levels of jui jitsu with good support from the trainers who teach all the students the value of martial arts. I’m really happy with the club and the trainers. We were recommended this club by a friend and now travel twice a week from Kennington. I would also recommend the club to new parents.

Fantastic experience: Still one of the greatest places to train. I come from a boxing background, and I was sceptical to move into MMA. Once I came for 2 classes I was sold. The BJJ, Wrestling, MMA and Kickboxing really made me realise I have a lot to learn!! They have helped me adapt and grow throughout the session, where I feel more well rounded and confident to take on any situation. The patient and the personal touches the trainers use has really helped me to adapt. The boxing also is surprisingly amazing! I've been taught a few more tricks here and there. Thank you!!

Negative experience: Robbed me of my money then tried booking me in various different places for "training" to then cancel the day before it was due. Cost me 3 weeks wages on cancelled courses and didn't want to refund me any money. Dont use them their utter scam artists and are burying any real reviews

Fantastic experience: Trained with those guys some time ago and it was awesome. NWA is like a family. People train to help each other improve. Instructors are knowledgeable and enjoy sharing it. I always felt motivated and wanted to do more. If I still lived in london that would be the place I'd train. My kids too as they have a cubs section now!

Fantastic experience: Our son joined New Wave Academy about five months ago. Before we signed him up, we went in to check the atmosphere. We found instructors very knowledgeable, professionals and students very friendly. Last month, it was a friendly competition when our son managed to get the 3rd place. Now, he is even more motivated !So, we are very happy with this Academy, and we definitely recommend it as one of the best place to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!

Fantastic experience: I joined New Wave Academy about 3 months ago and have NOT had any reason to regret it!!! On my first lesson (which was free!) nigh on every member said hello to me and actually introduced themselves by name. To be honest I'm surprised they actually do any fighting (they have world champions training there) because they are always seem to be having fits of laughter!!!!!! The gym has a wonderful family atmosphere with a constant stream of parents either picking up or dropping of children to train. Everyone is made to feel welcome and I have yet to meet any negative egos. EVERYONE seems to want to help each other learn and grow. If you have any doubts check out their Facebook page and you won't find a picture without someone smiling in it!!!

Fantastic experience: I am trying to get back into shape and rehab myself after some spine surgery a few years ago. New Wave has made me feel really welcome. There is no ego on show from anyone and everyone is respectful to each other. I been attending for the past 3 weeks and I haven't once been made to feel like I don't belong. A lot of skill and passion on display mixed in with a huge dose of humility.....I'd recommend these guys and gals to anyone any day!

Fantastic experience: I dont now what ben turner is going on about i have been training there for about a year and a half and have never smiled any weed in gym at all new wave is a very friendly and family friendly gym with students and coaches that are ego free and very willing to always help perfect your martial arts skills i would recommend anyone to come and check out gym all ages these guys at new wave academy aint just people i train with we are brothers and sisters from another mother family.

Fantastic experience: My child, aged 6, has been attending New Wave Academy since April and really enjoys coming to the sessions. I have been very impressed with the progression made so far. The coaches are good at engaging with the children and are very supportive. They also encourage good discipline and time keeping.

Fantastic experience: New wave academy has exceeded all expectations that I had prior to stepping through the front door. I have trained at multiple boxing and mma gyms and everything about NWA has impressed me. Friendly coaches specialised to each discipline, timetabled/organised and also which is very important is that they cator for everyone. Whatever your age, gender or skill set everyone shares the common goal of improving and getting better with a mutal respect in turn creating a family like atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: My son has been going to newwave academy now for nearly 2 years and absolutely loves it. He has learnt and gained so much from there classes and couldnt ask for better coaches to teach my child. Would recommend this club to anyone. For kids that are into this sort of thing garuntee there first day on the mats they will love and will wanna go back.

Fantastic experience: My son has been a member of the warrior cubs for nearly 3 yrs now. After trying many other out of school activities and loosing interest quickly he has remained focused and embroiled in his training at New Wave. In fact his focus and discipline have increased massively at home and school and I believe this is largely down to the sessions at New wave. In a very short time the kids have become competant enough to compete in many regional competitions including a few national competitions. The atmosphere at the club is very welcoming, coming from a non martial arts background I have been welcomed in to the family by all and have even begun attending the streagnth and conditioning sessions (whitch are awesome). There is a strong feeling of the coaches really caring for the kids wellbeing on and off the mat and always seem to have time for the kids with any tips, encouragement and issues. The value for money in my opinion is unbeatable as he trains for the most part 3x a week for a small monthly fee. Big thanks to all the coaches and all involved at New wave training academy. Fantastic experience: This is a great gym! The most important thing when you start training in martial arts is the atmosphere, coaches and of course that they know what they are doing. This place has it all, from day one they make you feel welcome and push you to do your best. I have been doing martial arts for over 30 years and it's one of the best gyms I have come across for adults, kids, Newby or professionals... They are producing some top fighters but also helping people gain confidence and be better person. Even though I have a gym 5mins from my house I travel nearly 30 Mins to come here. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I recently joined from doing boxing and Bjj in two different places. Here you have it all under one roof and more!! They have a huge matted area and weights/bags section! Coaches and team are all super friendly and welcoming and now I feel like I am part of a new family :-). For all the Bjj fans, Checkmat Croydon is also based here. If your looking to be a pro fighter or join for fitness or as a beginner be it male or female this is the place for you.

I drive 35 minutes each way 2-3 times a week for my 7-year-old son and I to train there. No egos, just be prepared to be punched in the face and have a hug afterwards!
