Fantastic experience: I won’t be leaving this gym anytime soon. Its location is great and I’m able to train when I want and use any piece of equipment, without having to wait an eternity. I’ve only had positive experiences here and if you’re unsure of something people are quick to help and support. Unlike, the rest of the gyms in Southport, the music is actually worth listening to, so forgetting you headphones isn’t an issue. For me it’s perfect and I’m glad I’ve joined.

Fantastic experience: Anvil gym (24hr) blends old-school and modern equipment with a welcoming atmosphere when visiting at any time of the day. Recent upgrades include an upstairs expansion, a new boxing facility with a skilled coach, a qualified sports therapist, and new changing rooms with added privacy. They also offer a wide selection of constantly re-stocked; pre-workouts, protein, supplements, and clothing, making it the most convenient space to workout in, in all of Southport.

Fantastic experience: This place is a hidden gem the staff are fantastic the homely feel you get when you are in here is unreal I had only just moved to the area and was a bit anxious about joining a gym but the anvil staff and customers welcomed me in hygiene is fantastic all in all just a great place for anyone just starting out and a little anxious this is the gym for you

Fantastic experience: The Staff are extremely friendly, everyone else working out in here are proper sound aswell, the equipment is ace, whole place has a nice serious old school feel to it which is great. Mid way through writing this, one of the staff even gave us a free pre-workout shot boost. Also not to mention the changing room lighting area is the best lighting I've ever used , mint place overall.

Liam and Ethan are the friendliest and most welcoming gym owners going. I’ve tried commercial gyms before but this is so much better in every single way, it’s a great community to be a part of!

Anvil has an extensive range of equipment that provides the perfect tools for any workout The gym has recently undergone a huge expansion providing even more machinery and space to workout, not to mention they are now equipped with shower and change facilities for a freshen up post workout. Highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

Fantastic experience: I was given a free day pass and a tour around the place . I've been working out solidly for 30 years and been to almost all of the gyms in Southport. Anvil gym impressed me , I have spent years working out and not felt like I have actually done anything , but upon my visit to Anvil gym, I left feeling like I'd actually worked out. In my opinion it is the best gym in Southport and the lads there are all smashing lads, very friendly and oozes a community feel, which makes the whole experience an excellent one . There is a mixture of old school equipment there and I'm a stickler for old school equipment myself , it ensures a proper , decent workout by hitting your muscles at different angles . I'm seriously considering becoming a member of Anvil gym , I don't drive , so I just need to figure out how to get there and back , but it shouldn't be too much of an issue for me . I can see my strength and overall physique improving that's for sure .. fantastic gym.. thoroughly recommended !

Fantastic experience: As someone that starting working out in March 2023, I was at another gym when I started, I stumbled across Anvil in June 2023 and can honestly say, it was game changing. The members are friendly, will strike up conversation, will give out advice and help & the vibe inside is another level, worlds away from the previous commercial gym I was at. The old school machines and equipment are superb aswell. The progress & the friends I have made since joining has changed my life. Ethan and Liam put their heart and soul into providing the best environment possible. I would advise anyone to try Anvil at least once, you won’t regret it!

Ethan and Liam who own the gym , didn't hesitate to show me how to use everything correctly . I have gained so much confidence now to use equipment independently. Classes are fab although my legs don't always agree the following day

High quality equipment, great community environment and a hint of the old skool gym vibe. Ethan and Liam have got their heads screwed on and are taking this gym to the next level. Fantastic experience: A friendly community feel gym. When you go in people acknowledge you, say hi which makes you feel less uncomfortable and very welcome and at ease. The lads Ethan and Liam are so friendly and approachable and make you feel so welcome. They have alot of knowledge and are more than happy to help with anything and any questions you may have. It feels like a warm, enjoyable, happy and healthy space for people of all capabilities and ages whether your just starting out on your fitness journey or have been doing it for years it is a place to enjoy the process of becoming a better you! Plus they play banging tunes . The classes are great fun and they use the equipment in the gym so then you build confidence and knowledge on how to use them to go in and use them on your own. So glad I joined and would recommend anyone else to aswell!

With it being a family business it made me feel so much more comfortable joining the gym knowing i'm guaranteed to get a friendly reception and have a positive community environment to train in. At the start, as a female powerlifter, I was worried about training somewhere new but everyone is so inviting and happy to help. highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start the gym or continue in their fitness journey.

Fantastic experience: Great modern friendly vibe to an old skool at heart gym,all the equipment you need to train any body part and wake up the next day regretting it.Friendly and helpful new owners,members will always give you a spot if needed also. Refreshments and energy drinks available at reception and a decent sound system to connect your tunes upto while you train. Day passes and monthly membership available and open 7 days a week. Definately worth a look.

Fantastic experience: As a family owned gym, the energy and duty of care is truly unmatched, that’s aside from the leading facilities provided. Regardless of your fitness experience, or confidence levels in the gym, the owners provide great service and make your transition into a healthier lifestyle a breeze. With some of the best (and rarest) weighted machines I’ve come across to date, as well as large space for powerlifting (squat, bench, and deadlift) and free weight dumbbells, it’s going to be difficult to find a better place to train, especially in the Southport area. Highly recommended to all.
