Fantastic experience: I unfortunately had to leave due to work related issues, Not for long though I am wanting to come back! However the Mcgowan family are nothing short of spectacular. I spent 10 years in the academy and they watched me grow into who I am now. They are great for fitness, mental health and always a laugh in classes too. All ages are welcome and beginners too! Fantastic experience: Excellent classes for youngsters that go far beyond just martial arts. Stranger awareness, nutrition, bullying etc. are all covered in a fun and inclusive way. I highly recommend this club.

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for a club that will build your child's self-confidence, enhance their communication and social skills, whilst developing age-appropriate conflict management and self defence skills, then MBA has you covered! Our daughter has flourished at the hands of a highly skilled and well respected coaching team over the last 18 months, during which time, she has established new friendships and has learned to become much more resilient. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: MBA has been a fantastic club for my daughters. Not only does it encourage fitness, but also respect for others, team work, resilience and healthy habits. Both of my children have consistently attended since the age of 3 and are now 12 and 10 which speaks volumes. The coaches are supportive and encouraging, and my eldest is now in Junior Leadership, helping younger groups. This experience along with preparing for gradings and competitions has really developed her self-confidence which has had a knock-on effect at school. I would thoroughly recommend McGowan’s Blackbelt Academy.

The club brings a real sense of family and belonging into their teaching style. There is a no nonsense but fun approach to coaching which has contributed significantly to my child’s development within martial arts and her wider social development. Fantastic experience: My daughter has been going to McGowan’s since she was 3 years old and she loves it! They learn so much - not just Taekwondo but lots about being safe, interacting with others in a respectful way and how to deal with challenging situations. She goes twice a week and has a great time - she is especially enjoying learning to spar!

Fantastic experience: My son Jimi has been attending MBA for 10 months now, he absolutely loves it. He really enjoys the exercise and learning everything about taekwondo. He has built a good relationship with coaches and as parents we love to see the tenured students developing their coaching and leadership skills. A real community.

Fantastic experience: My 5yo son has been enjoying coming to Taekwondo . The owners are professional, kind and very knowledgeable with really good customer service skills. The coaches/trainers are really good with kids, they make the class fun for the kids, my son always looking forward to go. All staff possess amazing verbal skills to engage kids in the exercises, they have patience and take their time with kids. Mrs McGowan was very supportive and kind when my son was scared to start Taekwondo and helped my son overcome his fears. There is a waiting room for parents to watch their kids on tv, plenty of seats, changing room and toilets. The kids receive a booklet to track their taekwondo progress, it’s tailored for their age and filling it out and learning from it with my son is exciting. I found that there are plenty of classes running so parents can manage to take the kids along whenever suits. There are adult’s taekwondo and fitness classes too, which I may explore in the near future. Parking is ample and easy to get to.

Fantastic experience: Amazing club, with great team spirit. We have been part of the club for around 6 years and my kids absolutely love it. The full team at MBA are great, especially the upcoming younger coaches who are amazing role models for the kids. MBA is very welcoming and friendly, fantastic family environment. Highly recommend. Fantastic experience: An amazing family run academy, everyone is made to feel welcome, running classes every day and inbetween Easter camp and summer camps for the children and young adults are nothing short of amazing.

Fantastic experience: I used to train here since the age of three up on till the age of 8 because I had to move out and looking back at this place it is the best academy I have ever trained.

Fantastic experience: Excellent family run club. My daughter started just after her 3rd birthday. Covid lockdown restrictions had just been reduced, but after a few short weeks we were in lockdown again. McGowans family and all staff went above and beyond during these challenging times to keep kids involved, zoom classes and when allowed outdoor classes before finally getting back into the dojang, while keeping everyone safe. My daughter looks forward to going every week, and is building her confidence and fitness while having loads of fun.

Fantastic experience: McGowans is an awesome TKD club that is hugely supportive of kids. They have helped our girls develop self defence skills, whilst also improving their confidence and discipline. 10/10.

Fantastic experience: MBA are really friendly and welcoming and have a really engaging and fun way of not only teaching Tae Kwon Do but teaching about the body, health and wellbeing and how to deal with bullying. I would recommend McGowan Blackbelt Academy to anyone that is looking to get not only their kids into martial arts but themselves as well.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic family run business and all the instructors are patient, fun and really care. My grandson has been going for nearly 2 years and can't recommend them highly enough, for helping build his confidence and the gum that he has.
