Personal training in a private gym. Located in Salfords. I specialise in working with over 40's to help them become stronger and healthier. I tailor the sessions specifically to suit your body, fitness level and fitness goals. My personal training service is designed with one goal in mind: to help you get stronger, prevent, and reverse the common problems faced by ageing. This is done through weightlifting, specifically barbell and dumbbell exercises. Weightlifting is an excellent way for individuals over 40 (and all ages) to improve their overall health and well-being. Not only does it help to build muscle and increase strength, but it can also prevent and reverse certain problems that come with ageing!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Jake enough as a Personal Trainer. I wanted to learn how to lift weights properly, get fitter and stronger (aswell as some help on the nutrition side of things) and Jake has delivered on everything. He is professional, knows his stuff and super friendly and flexible!

Fantastic experience: I’d been carrying some extra body weight for a while now, and after the doctor told me my cholesterol was in the ‘high’ bracket I needed to do something more drastic than just rely on self motivation. I reached out to Jake in February 2024 and started weight training twice a week. He’s got a great setup and he’s really personable, knowledgable and professional. I’ve now lost a stone in weight and can both see and feel the difference the training has made. It’s spurring me on to do even more and I’ve lowered my target weight further. I recommend to anyone looking to make a similar change to give Jake a go - I’m very happy with how it’s going!

Fantastic experience: Started twice a week with Jake in Feb 2024 & I always look forward to my sessions with him. His brief was ‘make me stronger’ and we are making good and steady progress building strength, particularly upper body strength. I was thrilled when I went to the gym after 4 weeks or so and could already lift heavier weights on machines I have used at same weight for yonks…that progress continues now. He is knowledgable, patient, explains things in ways that make sense and we always have a laugh (even in v early morning sessions). He has also had to work within limitations of a lingering knee injury that I have. He has adapted sessions accordingly to ensure I’m not exacerbating the issue. I also appreciate that he checks in regularly with me between sessions. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a PT.

Fantastic experience: Jake is a great personal trainer. He was referred to me by an osteopath around 6 months ago to assist with building core strength to alleviate back pain and the results so far are brilliant. Having been off and on at the gym for a number of years, I can honestly say that having a structured program and somebody to push you makes a massive difference! Thanks coach

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with Jake for nearly 3 years - but it was in Sept 2022 when I had a huge shift in mindset and actually started to take the whole balance of weights and proper nutrition seriously and since then I have hit my initial goal of 4 stone weight loss and am pushing into my ultimate goal weight (just a few lbs to go). Since last summer, when I achieved the first goal - the weight lifting has now really come into play and although the scales gains are much smaller - I have dropped another dress size (3 in total and am rapidly heading to 4!). Jake has taught me that the scales are just a guide and the real results are in lifting the weights now. I am not a natural gym bunnie, but throughout every main - Jake has continued to be motivating and encouraging and always pushes me to do better! Also, he’s really accommodating around my sometimes insane work schedule! Though my discipline and his knowledge and constant support I am in the best shape of my adult life and the healthiest I have been in both body and mind regarding weight and fitness.

Fantastic experience: Jake has been training me for 4 months and I look forward to all of his sessions. He ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries and is always prepared with a personalised routine. I have been a regular gym goer for over 20 years but in the 4 months I’ve been working with Jake, the transformation is enormous. With a balance of hard work and a high protein, calorie controlled diet I have been able to tone and strengthen my body. Not only is Jake an excellent personal trainer, he is also a dedicated, professional and delightful chap. I can’t recommend him highly enough. If you want to get fit and are willing to work for it, you need Jake!

Fantastic experience: It was clear to see from my first visit that Jake is very passionate about his job as a personal trainer / fitness coach , I have trained with Jake for about 3 months now twice a week , it’s probably the first time I have ever enjoyed any form of exercise, I’ve seen PT’s before Jake but he has got me hooked , he spends a lot of time making sure everything is done properly and that your form is perfect before attempting to lift anything , I’ve already noticed positive changes in myself , His fitness gym is a great clean personable place with all the right equipment and he’s very knowledgeable on a whole lot of subjects so great for a chat and giggle I’ve just started a nutritional programme with Jake too with lots of support from him , it’s all going really well and with him behind me I feel I can achieve great goals , I would 100% recommend a trial session with him to anyone He’s a top guy !

Fantastic experience: I started weight training with jake once a week about 16 weeks ago. Already I can see the benefits of the work outs and along with a diet programme he has set up to sit alongside the weight programme I can see an improvement in my body tone and weight. He gives very positive feedback and as this is not a crash programme but a slow and steady development of my strength and general health I find it very easy to stick to. I'm 63 years old but love each week that I set a new personal best in bench presses and squats ! Thoroughly recommend him Peter wright

Fantastic experience: Jake has inspired and helped me to build regular exercise into my regular life when I have neglected to do this for over 50 years. He is genuinely interested in my fitness and strength journey. This must be one of the reasons my exercise regime is now ongoing for over 18 months. Jake is well educated in fitness management and regularly amends the programme to help me build on my progress. Since training with Jake I have lost weight, improved strength and stamina and can really enjoy a day's hill walking without it being a torture :) I can 100% recommend him as a personal trainer.

Fantastic experience: Jake is a fantastic personal trainer. I have lost weight, gained muscle and improved both posture and stamina. We have used a mix of activities - some boxing, some cardio, some weight lifting and it has always been tailored to my goals. Importantly, it has also always been fun - I enjoy our conversations in the sessions and learn a lot. My experience is that Jake is expert at adapting an overall programme and each individual session to the client’s needs. He knows when to push me and when I am near my limits. I cannot recommend Jake any more highly than saying I am genuinely disappointed if I am unable to attend a session as it is a great part of my week now. Give it a try - you’ll be glad you did. See you there!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Jake as a personal trainer. He is highly knowledgeable and passionate about what he does, and he always takes the time to explain what each exercise if trying to achieve. He's also not afraid to have a laugh during a session and lighten the mood. I've been working for with him for 6 months now and I can clearly see results. He picked up on my weak spots and adapted the sessions to help strengthen those areas, which has been extremely beneficial to me. I would 100% recommend.
