Scimitar Martial Arts: Opinions
Fantastic experience: This school not only allows you to dip your toes into Bruce Lee's much loved philosophy but also enables you to learn ways to protect yourself in a manner relevant to you. I would recommend this school for anyone living in the UK as the instructors are worth their weight in gold and the students are supportive too.
Thanks so much
Fantastic experience: After training in other martial arts its been a real eye opener to train with a real world application street / self defence style taught at a pace that suits you with excellent instruction.
Thanks Andy
Fantastic experience: Welcoming and friendly combat/fitness class. Scott (head instructor) teaches in a very relaxed way adapting classes to the attendees. Not only does he teach JKD which is a mix of wing-chun, ju-jitsu, street combat, muay thai amongst others he also teaches how to avoid such situations escalating and gives you the confidence to walk away with pride in tact. The class is an excellent mix of self defence technique and fitness, Scott blends these by describing why fitness is important and what exercises help which part of the body. This is an all inclusive class teaching self defence and supporting fitness without ego, class mates support and help each other whilst learning
Thanks Matt
Fantastic experience: Dedicated and experienced Instructors, who's Lineage goes all the way back to the formative years of Jeet Kune Do, mid 60's and early 70's Chinatown School in L.A. For anyone interested in the Martial Arts with a desire to get super fit, whilst learning to Train for something that hopefully never happens, or is never needed. These guys are the real deal. Affordable and all levels of fitness and martial knowledge catered for. Good bunch of lads. No over inflated egos.
Thanks very much
Fantastic experience: Scott's classes were brilliant. I trained with him for years and it did wonders for my confidence, stamina, balance, speed and most importantly - my JKD abilities. I've done other martial arts before and JKD was easily my favourite. It's a very well rounded discipline and is enjoyable to practice.
Thanks Stu
Fantastic experience: Scott is an amazing natural teacher, he will ensure you are completely at ease and it is amazing how every student feels as if the lesson was completely tailored to their needs. If you are not getting something, Scott is amazing at making you feel at ease and then re-putting it in a way you understand. You leave the lessons feeling excited about next weeks lesson, feeling more confident, more fitter and valued as a student. You will not be disappointed and I look forward to seeing you there at the next lesson.
Thanks Pete
Fantastic experience: Realistic street fighting techniques, friendly atmosphere, everyone is always made to feel welcome. Scott Pratt is one of the best instructors I have trained under.
Thanks
Fantastic experience: Excellent instructor with an impressive range of skills and knowledge of lots of martial arts. Really nice and welcoming group, too. I highly recommend.
Thanks Steven
Fantastic experience: Best multi style martial arts training, for real life self defence and merging concepts of all competive disciplines. Broke down by a brilliant trainer
Thanks Dan
Fantastic experience: Great tuition done in a relaxed atmosphere. You learn at your own pace.
Thanks Andrew
Fantastic experience: If you're looking to learn self-defense concepts and techniques that combine ancient martial arts (e.g. Wing Chun, Jujitsu, Thai Boxing...) and street fighting skills, then pop along to a ScimitarJKD class. Chief Instructor, Scott Pratt, made me feel very welcome, as did his band of Jeet Kune Do students. If you don't know anything about JKD then Google the name, Bruce Lee. As a 50-something man, I wanted a 'martial arts' class that focused on learning real-world combat skills and not getting beasted for 60-minutes doing shuttle runs and press-ups (been there, got the t-shirt). Yes, there's some PT thrown in but it's not the main event. In addition, I didn't go home battered and bruised! Why? Because there's no sparring. If you want to get beat up or smash your fellow students to a pulp then this is NOT the class for you.
Thanks Simon
Fantastic experience: Great Atmosphere, Great instructorship, build your confidence in what is in my opinion the pinnacle of Martial Arts training.
Thanks Mark
