Fantastic experience: I’ve been with this gym for about 4 months now and I had never set foot in a gym before this and Amy has just been so amazing and the kindest person ever! So professional and patient, always making the sessions so much fun and the diet plans according to your needs. I’ve lost over 12kgs these past few months, feeling way healthier and stronger. It’s a private gym and perfect if you’re new to the whole working out situation like I was. And meeting Maple, their dog is a plus ❤️ Can’t recommend it enough and so thankful to Amy!
Fantastic experience: Been with this gym since July 2023, and could not be happier with the results. Ryan is an amazing trainer in all ways and taking part in this gym has changed my life. He has always been accommodating and understanding to my circumstances and I always feel comfortable every time I'm there. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I’ve join the gym for 4 months and the experience is amazing. Ryan is an amazing coach. He made bespoke diet and training programs for me to achieve my ideal physique. Fantastic experience: 作为一个自己跑到曼城来上学的中国人,我真的很感谢Socal gym给我带来的欢乐时光和辛苦留下的汗水。在这里的大约四个月的私教训练是我人生中第一次进行器械训练,这里对于新手来说是个非常好的开始的地方!!Amy是我的私教,她更是我的好朋友(是的!!),我们的训练时间设置为每周三次,每次一小时,我总是期盼着可以与她聊天和分享有趣的事情,她也总是很积极很有耐心的回应我(即使我的英文并不是很好)。我喜欢在这里的狗狗(一只名叫Maple的金毛),她很沉稳很可爱,每次被学习压垮的我看看她就能重新充满活力!总而言之,真的很推荐来这里进行私教训练!Amy她有着极高的专业性,会细心地关注每一个动作要点,我的确比之前有了更多的肌肉,体态变得好看!建议大家可以去看看他家的ins上有客户的对比照,真的变化很明显(我就是看了对比图才心动的)。现在我已经要离开英国啦,希望Socal gym的各位(当然包括Maple)天天开心!我会永远记住这段经历!家人们,想报课就快报,说真的,真的值,而且健身真的爽!撸狗也爽! As a Chinese person who ran away to Manchester to go to school on my own, I really appreciate the fun times and the sweat left behind by the hard work at Socal gym. About four months of personal training here was the first time in my life that I trained on machines, and it's a great place for newbies to start! Amy is my personal trainer and she is even a better friend (yes!!!)! Amy is my personal trainer and she is also my best friend (yes!!!), our training time is set to be one hour three times a week, I always look forward to chatting and sharing interesting things with her, and she always responds to me positively and patiently (even though my English isn't very good). I love my dog here (a golden named Maple), she's so calm and sweet, and every time I'm overwhelmed by my studies, I look at her and get energised again! All in all, really recommend coming here for personal training! Amy she has great professionalism and pays careful attention to every movement point, I do have more muscles than before and my physique has become good looking! I suggest you can check out the comparison photos of his clients on his ins, the changes are really obvious (I was just impressed by the comparison pictures). Now that I'm leaving the UK, I hope everyone at Socal gym (including Maple of course) is happy every day! I will always remember this experience!
Fantastic experience: Ryan offered to train me few months ago, we had an initial consultation where I felt listened to and within a few days the diet plan was drafted as well as the training plan. I've since lost 2.2 stone and looking forward to the next phase of my body transformation. Thanks Ryan for choosing to be part of my journey!

Fantastic experience: SoCal is an excellent private gym in Ardwick - I usually have the gym to myself or there may be one other client in there training at a time, so it feels very personal and spacious. I qualified as a personal trainer last year and wanted to work with a more experienced PT to learn and be pushed and I got exactly that. Ryan's knowledge of training and nutrition is unparalleled - he takes the time to explain the logic behind his training methods to help me understand why we are doing things a certain way and what I can expect from the process. The sessions can be tough but I'm the strongest I've ever been and really enjoying the process. Ryan literally lives and breathes health and fitness so if you're looking for someone to get you results practically and efficiently he is your guy. He isn't one to do things by halves - he will expect you to show up and work hard and in return he will give you a very detailed, personalised service to help you achieve your goals, including all the guidance you need around nutrition to support your efforts in the gym. If you want to start taking your fitness seriously then I can't recommend Ryan enough.
Fantastic experience: Ryan and Amy are fantastic coaches. They are very professional and patient. They are not only focused on my training but also take care about my food and gave me the appropriate recipe to help me achieve my aim quicker. Before I came to Socal, I was quite worried about my language as I’m an international student. It turned out that language isn’t an issue. Ryan and Amy always listen to me and spend a lot of time explaining their idea. Also, their training sessions are very effective. I’ve been here for two months, and I can see my body shape has changed a lot. I think I’ll stick with Ryan and Amy for my whole uni life here. Btw, they have a lovely doggy called Maple. If you love doggy but are unable to keep one like me, that will be very nice having Maple when you are training (but to be prepared that princess Maple might give you a cold shoulder :)

Ryan knows his stuff, exercise, training and diets, if it is to be known, he knows it and he is always willing to share the info that he has researched, many years of experience makes him a go to person and SoCal Gym the place to be the place to get results
Fantastic experience: I have been working out with Ryan for a couple of months now and couldn't be happier about the results! He is super easy-going and will help you with nutrition plan as well. I managed to lose fat while building a lot of muscle, so now I am very close to having the body I wanted. Dedication is really the key, and Ryan is very good at staying focused on your objectives while having a good time! The sessions are always very good, he is very attentive and pays a lot of attention to help you develop your technique. I have a desk work and going to the gym was never my thing but working out with him is really motivating! I can't recommend him enough!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been working out at SoCal gym with Ryan for around 10 weeks now, and I’m super surprised and satisfied with the results. The gym and the facilities are great, and Ryan is an incredible coach, professional and welcoming all the time, it’s always a pleasure to train with Ryan! Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to soCal for almost just over 2 months, I have to say I feel stronger , more confident in my ability to go heavier with weights. Ryan is an awesome PT always helping me to improve my form . I never thought I could squat 100kg in such little time and I only weigh 62kg. Fantastic experience: I’ll start by saying, I didn’t realise how much I needed Ryan or Socal until after my 4 months came to an end. I initially signed up to get a little in shape before being a bridesmaid. I had no idea how much the comfort eating of numerous lockdowns had affected me. Not only do my before & after pictures show so much progress but I genuinely feel lighter. The difference in my posture and how I carry myself is unbelievable (as this has always been a concern for me sitting at a desk all day). My main weakness is food, and with a busy schedule I found myself grabbing anything ‘on the go’. Ryan helped with a nutrition plan & vitamins to ensure I was getting the all of the goodness and energy I needed. I am now able to make more positive choices & enjoy everything in moderation alongside training. Ryan was very accommodating and helped work around my ever-changing schedules, even looking after my puppy whilst I trained. Being in the gym with Ryan 3 times a week helped me focus on myself, my health and my mindset. This has completely changed my life and I would 100% recommend. I can’t wait to get back!
Fantastic experience: Ive been training here since it opened and can't recommend it enough without sounding cheesy or false . Facts are the facilities are great and staff dont treat you as a number. They train your head aswell as your physique. Try try try
Fantastic experience: Ryan is an incredible PT. I was initially concerned about having a PT because I had some negative experiences in other gyms but Ryan was soooo patient with me. He put me at ease straight away. As well as the physical benefits, I have truly benefited mentally from working with Ryan. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Found SoCal and Ryan via Google. Great and well equipped private Gym near the University’s. Ryan took time to understand my goals and be patient whilst I was learning. Working with Ryan I not only lost 30lbs but gained the motivation and confidence to go the gym myself and now am committed to living healthier. Thanks Ryan!
Fantastic experience: The best weight lifting experience I have had - we agreed on an initial 12 weeks training plan which went beyond expectations. The gym and equipments are world class. The plan was 100% bespoke and we constantly adapt the 1:1 sessions to push further, while making other work/life commitments manageable. I very much like their holistic approach to weight training - exercise, diet, lifestyle. I have had absolutely no injuries too, thank to their expertise in biomechanics. Highly recommend it!
