Hi I'm Gyles and I'm the founder of Fitbot. Fitbot is a Personal Training service based in Lewes. Individuals of every age and fitness level come to us for help with Weight Loss and Toning, Rehabilitation through to Strength and Sports Specific Fitness.
I founded Fitbot because of my own passion for and relationship with Health and Fitness. I had to fit training for 100km Ultra Marathons, other Endurance events and various other sports around a busy Media career in London, so I know first hand what challenges this can throw up. I also understand the enormous benefits it can have on every aspect of your life - mentally and physically. I'm now loving the challenge of helping others reach their fitness goals, whilst continuing with the general ‘busyness’ of every day life.Training and staying completely in touch with the latest developments in Health and Fitness are really important to me, I want to ensure I deliver the best and most up to date service to all my clients whatever their needs. I'm a REPS Level 3 Personal Trainer , Boxercise Instructor, Kettle-bell Instructor and QA Level 2 First Aid.
Fitbot Personal Training is purely focused on delivering the best possible session for you, you're in a class of 1. Everyone has different goals, getting in the best shape possible for a wedding or holiday, quickly returning from injury, through to hitting target times for triathlons and marathons. There are also those that love to train for the love of exercise and the de-stressing, energising feeling it gives them. We also train clients in pairs if they choose to do so, some people like the morale support, or competitiveness, of working with a ‘Buddy’
We are serious about what we do, that’s why we get results, but it is essential you enjoy it along the way. Fasting, and quick fixes do not promote long lasting changes. We are focused on helping individuals achieve permanent change and encouraging them to make exercise and healthy living part of their everyday routine. We may work hard, we ask you to be committed, you may sweat a little along the way! We won’t shout at you, our approach is based on encouragement and guidance. From past experience the change you are looking for will not happen unless you find the sessions engaging and rewarding, that’s why every session will be different…..it’s also important to surprise your body with something new on a weekly basis, it has to learn to adapt to change. Fantastic experience: I booked Gyles for back to back 12 week sessions to help with my health. By the time I had finished I was no longer diabetic and my cholesterol was in the normal range. My cholesterol was the highest my doctor had ever seen:) . The sessions were fun hard work and varied which kept the interest up. I continued after the lessons all be it at a slightly less pace. Gyles helped in many ways and is a great Trainer. The best benefit, the fitness levels took 10 strokes of my golf handicap. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Gyles because after 20 sessions (two mornings per week) I can see and feel a real difference in my physical strength. Gyles made each session different and very fun which meant I felt constantly challenged and came away from every session feeling awake, confident and that I had really made a difference to my day. He is motivating, kind and listens and I felt he was always respectful. He was able to focus the workouts on areas of my body I needed to improve, making it true personal training which is much better than a group class. My fitness has helped me improve in other sports such as climbing. Looking forward to more sessions with Gyles!
Fantastic experience: I worked intensively with Gyles whilst I was working at Glyndebourne and it was the best thing I decided to do for my health and fitness. Gyles is an extremely inspiring, motivating and hard working trainer who challenges and pushes you to achieve results you didn't think possible. I always looked forward to my sessions and was so impressed that Gyles was so accommodating with my ever changing schedule- we worked both in my house and outside in the local park. If you're looking for a kind and supportive trainer who achieves amazing results, then Gyles is the one for you. I can't recommend him highly enough.
Fantastic experience: I contacted Gyles when very low after a family bereavement, needing a brand new approach to all round wellbeing. I intended to do just ten sessions ... and six months later, my PT is firmly established as an essential two/three hours of every week. Whether I’m a ball of energy or need scraping off the floor, Gyles never fails to motivate me, is never judgemental and has completely transformed my fitness. The humour and kindness he always brings has greatly strengthened my emotional health too. Every session is different and is flexible to how I am on the day. Gyles has also been hugely informative on diet, and happily lets mad teenagers join in if they’re home. I can not recommend him highly enough - I always enjoy my sessions, have seen great results and never imagined I’d still be making this commitment to my health. If he could change water into wine , he really would be the full miracle worker ;) !!
Fantastic experience: I started training with Giles after coming back from travelling and wanting to get fit again... I wasn't sure exactly how long I'd need a trainer for, but instantly as soon as I started with Giles, training actually became fun and something I looked forward to in my days. The best part about training with Giles is every session is very different and he focuses on the exercises and machines you do like to use rather than the ones you would usually avoid. Boxing has become a big enjoyment of mine, so we usually incorporate that into the sessions. It's easy to train with someone who makes you feel very comfortable and can have a good laugh as well, whilst keeping very professional. Fantastic experience: We have a tiny house and had no motivation, and Gyles has managed to create interesting and challenging workouts that can be done in our home. I wanted to get healthier, which he has managed to help me achieve but I also can't deny it was brilliant to go to my second wedding dress fitting after two months of working out and seeing quite a drastic change in how I look in the mirror! It felt amazing and can't recommend this enough.
Fantastic experience: At uni, I enjoyed going to the gym with my friends, drinking green smoothies and discussing Nike, but in the years since, my motivation and confidence wained drastically. I started feeling embarrassed to turn up at the gym, too awkward running outside and my diet yo-yoed. I looked for a PT in my local area to help me get some confidence back, whilst also being relatively affordable. Gyles was kind, motivating and proffessional at all times. Every session was personalised and I naturally started to make wiser food choices as the weeks rolled by. There were times I felt unable to fit in exercise around work, or I'd eaten three pizzas and a bucket of ice-cream in one weekend, but the message was always to keep moving forward. I now feel so much happier and more confident in myself, and I am more likely to grab a banana and take the stairs than I have done for years.
Fantastic experience: Gyles is an excellent trainer. He uses a very methodical and easygoing approach and always keeps the routines unique. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: I have been training with Gyles for 12 months and seen great improvements in my fitness & core strength. I've always been reasonably fit but never pushed myself hard when training on my own or visiting the gym. I realised that if i wanted to get truly fit & build core strength i needed someone to make me work harder to see that improvement. Gyles designed a tailored program for me that involves weekly sessions and exercises to do between sessions. He pushes hard in training sessions but doesn't make it feel like a chore. I really didn't want someone to shout at me, but rather someone who could motivate in a positive way and encourage me not to give up when I started to flag. And that's exactly what Gyles does. So far the results have been great and I've recommend Gyles to plenty of friends who have had equally great experiences.
Fantastic experience: I've been struggling to get in any regular exercise for the last two years and so decided to kick start things with a block of personal training sessions with Gyles and Fitbot. I'm now 7 weeks into my block of sessions and it’s worked fantastically well. I've just had my yearly snowboarding trip and whereas I'm usually flagging after 2-3 days I managed 6.5 action filled days and really made the most of my trip. Looking forward to the next few sessions, thanks Fitbot :-)
Fantastic experience: Gyles was great. I've never used a PT before and he put me at ease straight away. He somehow manages to push you quite hard while making it all seem 'easy' and fun - but by no means is it easy!! If you are boarder line about PT or think it isn't for you, think again! Give Gyles a call, he's exactly what you are looking for!!
