Fantastic experience: An excellent gym. Was in Bridport for a little over a month and Rich was friendly, welcoming, and extremely accommodating of all my needs. The gym boasts a tight knight, supportive community of dedicated athletes, and I never had to wait to use equipment. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I found the Hurt Locker to be a wonderful community, especially for an older woman in her 40s, who wasn't confident in the gym, when starting out. Everyone is there to lend a helping hand, when needed, especially Rich, the owner ☺️!

I recently discovered the Hurt Locker and I was seriously impressed, the facility and equipment are excellent. Rich, the owner, was very welcoming and the members are really friendly, they have created a fantastic community feel at the gym. Rich (the owner and PT) is friendly, welcoming, highly knowledgeable and encouraging to all gym goers. The equipment is brilliant, the gym is clean and tidy, and the parking access is ample and easy. Positive experience: Smaller gyms have a nicer atmosphere, staff are helpful & friendly! No showers though which is the only downside.

Fantastic experience: I Spent a week training in the hurt locker whilst on holiday. The gym was well equipped, clean and very welcoming. I was impressed by the circuit classes! They looked very challenging. I always like to maintain my fitness whilst on holiday and was pleased to have such a great little gym locally.

Fantastic experience: I joined the Hurt Locker as a member last September. The gym is always spotlessly clean and the equipment well cared for. Rich, the owner is really helpful, very friendly and approachable. His HIIT classes on a Monday and Wednesday morning are hard work but really good fun. He keeps things interesting by changing workouts each session. The other gym members are really friendly, always a 'Good morning' or 'Hello'. The atmosphere in the gym is excellent. I would highly recommend it for use as a full member or as holiday maker visiting Bridport or the surrounding area. I hope this helps someone find a friendly gym that suits them.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant gym ! A lot of different high quality equipment. If you’re feeling thirsty or hangry they have a vending machine with yummy electrolyte/energy drinks and snacks. It’s super clean and the other gym members are so friendly and always happy to help. The weekend workouts are tough but absolutely worth it ! Highly Recommend this gym

Fantastic experience: I'm on holiday this weekend so I attended the Saturday morning Hyrox WOD as a guest. The trainer and members couldn't have been more welcoming! Fantastic experience: I spent a week in Bridport and wanted to use a gym whilst in town. I found The Hurt Locker online, it looked exactly what I was looking for. The welcome from Rich was very warm and genuine and the gym didn’t disappoint. The equipment was expansive, in good condition and spotlessly clean. Fantastic experience: I’ve been to this gym for a few months now and it has honestly been the best decision I have made. Not only is rich extremely lovely but he’s super supportive and informative for those who have no experience. I’ve never been made to feel uncomfortable or stupid which helps tremendously when you have a lot of questions and questionable form too. I enjoy going so much not to just work out but to see familiar faces - the members are equally friendly too. I’ve learnt so much and have a lot to learn too which keeps me hooked. Since joining I’ve lost a further 8kg, have muscle definition and my confidence has severely increased plus I have gained an invaluable group of friends. Just wish I had started sooner!

Fantastic experience: I joined as a member in May this year and can highly recommend it. Completely new experience for me as I’ve only ever done yoga/ swimming/ running previously, and have always found gyms a bit intimidating - but it’s very friendly and welcoming, with a great range of equipment. Rich is really helpful getting you started if you’re not totally sure what you’re doing, and he runs a tight ship - it’s always spotlessly clean, tidy, good music, free bananas! - everything you need.

The welcoming and motivating atmosphere meant I quickly became a member and have been attending the classes every week since . The gym is spotless , Rich is a great owner and motivating trainer and the members are such a lovely group of people, all of which makes working out there enjoyable instead of a chore ! Fantastic experience: I visit the in-laws a few times a year and have been looking for a decent gym to train at while i am in the manor. Well, boy did I find one! £22 for a week pass? Hells yeah. Having trained at more gyms than I have had hot dinners, i challenge anyone to find a more complete gym. This dude has thought of everything you could ever want to train with. Every time i tried to catch him out, I find something in the corner somewhere! Lovely friendly guy, nice and welcoming. If you want to train, look no further.

Rich, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable about all the equipment and always happy to help out if I have any questions or need some guidance on my workouts. The atmosphere here is really friendly and welcoming, which makes it easy to stay motivated and push myself to reach my fitness goals. One thing I really appreciate about The Hurt Locker is that Rich will offer technical workshops for women on fundamental exercises like deadlifts and barbell squats. These have been super helpful for me and have definitely improved my form and confidence in the gym. Overall, I highly recommend The Hurt Locker to anyone looking for a neighborhood gym with a great community feel and excellent resources for improving your fitness.

Fantastic experience: Hurt Locker is a brilliant gym with excellent equipment and facilities. Rich is extremely knowledgeable and encourages everyone regardless of their experience or fitness levels. Fantastic experience: I stayed in Bridport in December and needed somewhere to carry on my training. The Hurt Locker was ideal! I was able to pay for a week and Rich kindly added on an extra week for free after a mix up - top bloke! The gym itself is fairly small but well equipped, clean and modern. It met all my needs and I would highly recommend anyone visiting Bridport that is in need of a workout to look no further than the Hurt Locker.

Rich does a fantastic job of running the gym, he keeps it exceptionally clean and there is a really friendly vibe. Fantastic experience: Absolute hidden gem. Wanted a place to workout while I was on holiday and The Hurt Locker was an amazing find. Unbelievable value considering the high level equipment inside; everything is top of the range, well-maintained, and clean. Buying a pass and gaining access was so easy as well. Owner is really nice and responsive too. Felt very welcome there. Only downside is I live too far away to go again!

Fantastic experience: I switched gyms to Hurt Locker a few months ago, 1 of the best decisions I made in 2021, been a pleasure being a member here, Rich is amazing, he's close with his members which is an added bonus, you don't get that at many gyms, always there if you need a hand and the community is excellent, you always feel comfortable and at home there, which for me was perfect cause I've never been overly confident at the gym until I signed up to Hurt Locker, I wouldn't think twice about recommending Hurt Locker, plus I got a Christmas card from them so that's a bonus!

Fantastic experience: Let me set the scene.... slightly daunting at first, you walk in at 6.30 and you’re greeted by the owner, an enthusiastic ex-soldier. He’s sipping a coffee from his dodgy mug, that reads “I’m a fitness instructor because being a badass isn’t an official job title”, telling you to go smash your workout. You wouldn’t believe anyone can be that happy nor encouraging so early in the morning EVERYDAY, but Rich somehow is. Maybe it’s the mug? Minimal machines to be seen and it has you quickly searching dumbbell/barbell/cable workouts on Instagram so you don’t look as clueless as you are. Give it a week, or two, and then you realise you have access to everything, and more. You’re hitting muscle groups you never even knew existed. You’ve never engage your core so much because you’re so used to sitting on a machine and just aimlessly pushing or pulling in one set, rigid direction. You’ll catch yourself constantly staring at the big 50’s at the bottom of the wrack thinking ‘maybe one day I’ll bench them’ (that day is still yet to come). You may want to bring your own pair of headphones because the tunes are questionable, the owner firmly believes the members should decide what plays next, so you really have no clue what to expect; but at least you are not forced to listen to dodgy chart remixes. The Hurt Locker has transformed the fitness scene in Bridport- no longer do you have to reluctantly choose between a leisure centre or a commercial gym full of beefcakes flexing in a mirror. The gym has a community feeling to it, there’s nothing better than *almost* failing a bench and the random guy next to telling you to maybe lower the wrack next time. It’s like a you have an unlimited access to a free PT every time you train ! I’m not sure if I have reviewed this place in the way I intended. It is not really ‘just a gym’. If you want somewhere that feels safe (as a girl I can firmly say you will not be creeped on), pushes you past your limits and has a big rope you can climb then you know where to go. One last thing to note, the place is spotless and you’d never know about 5 litres of my sweat have fallen on that floor- remarkable.

Fantastic experience: Rich and what he has made here is a community of like minded people. It's welcoming and a great place to achieve your goals. You will always get a hello, either from Rich himself or one of the members, I can't recommend this place enough if your looking to build your fitness and strength.

Rich is always buzzing about helping spot or motivate if he isn’t with a client and giving advise where needed, I couldn’t recommend this gym enough

Fantastic experience: Great gym! Decent equipment! Early birds and Weekend sessions are brilliant - led by Rich who is extremely knowledgeable and makes the sessions enjoyable but still hard work. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic experience: My go-to gym when I’m in the area. It’s the little things, you can set up your own work station, there’s plenty of kit, pre and post workout snacks provided (bananas), all the drinks and great HIIT circuits (if you can get up early enough!). There’s also a great space do do your stretching after some lifting. My wife had 1:1 personal training with Rich, for someone who has never set foot in a gym she felt comfortable and confident using all the kit and equipment. She enjoyed something she never thought she would thanks to Rich. Might have to move to Bridport.

Fantastic experience: Rich Harvey lives and breathes this facility and the community of people who train here. He's a knowledgeable and passionate trainer, who gets the balance between training and other commitments in life. Yes it's a great facility with good equipment but beyond that, if you want to connect with a local business owner, who trains himself - as well as others, and offers positivity in abundance (and free bananas) check out the Hurt locker.

Fantastic experience: Me and my partner have just got back from a trip to West Bay, Bridport. Whilst down there we googled local gyms and discovered The Hurt Locker which was just minutes away. The owner Rich and his partner made us feel so welcome we went everyday. The gym is modern, well equipped, extremely clean and has a real positive vibe. Rich is extremely knowledgable and clearly knows his stuff. He went above and beyond and even gave us free fruit every morning!!! If we lived in the area we would defo sign up to this gym. Fantastic experience: I found the gym via google search whilst staying on holiday in Bridport. The health pre check admin was easy and quick to fill out. I purchased the pay as you go weekly pass which was great value and i used the gym three times. The gym has a fantastic free weight section together with areas for circuits, cardio and stretch. There is also a section for pad work. The reception area and staff were all very personable and welcoming. A fantastic local business which i certainly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have recently joined Hurt locker after spending years working out and working as a instructor in fitness suites. I took a long time out in fact to long but I wanted something different and this is what Hurt locker have given me. If anyone had said to me that I would be going to a mainly free weight and bar bell gym I would of said not a chance due to the way some are but Hurt locker is different. It's got a chilled out fresh vibe and friendly to everyone weather you are a newbie to the fitness world or more experienced and it don't have that horrible you must be fit before you go feel like some do. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to work out.

Rich is the most understanding and motivating person I’ve ever met! Fantastic experience: Went on Holiday to West Bay in April 2022 with the whole family. Three of us wanted to use a gym for the week. I found Hurt Locker online and having checked out their website I made contact with Rich. Rich provided guidance on getting signed up so that we would be ready to go from day 1. We all signed up to a one week pass which was perfect for us. We arrived on day one and was made to feel really welcome. Rich gave us to tour and induction and before you knew it we were working out. Everything was perfect, the equipment is of a high quality and there was plenty of it. The atmosphere was perfect, music was good and everyone was so friendly. So if you are looking for a gym with genuine people, excellent equipment and great support then look no further. I highly recommend Hurt Locker.

There is a friendly atmosphere, where you’d feel welcomed and motivated to acheive your goals. Rich is an amazing trainer. He is passionate, motivating and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in fitness. The Hurt Locker has been the best and most enjoyable gym I’ve ever joined! I highly recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I've ever signed up to. Equipment is great and well looked after and you yourself are well looked after there. The environment is great no matter what time you go in there. Rich (the owner) is very friendly and easy to get on with. If you are ever unsure about anything he will happily help you out. The place is kept extremely clean and the music is nice and loud. Whatever your fitness goals are The Hurt Locker will make them happen

Fantastic experience: Best gym I've ever been too. Top notch equipment. And a real community feel to it. Me and my partner recently moved to the area and joining the gym helped us settle into the town much quicker. The owner, Rich, is so passionate about fitness and helping people improve - no matter what level you're at. His energy is infectious. It's inspiring and he cultivates a brilliant, non-judgemental atmosphere, which makes me look forward to going each day. Would definitely recommend if you were just passing through and on holiday, or you wanted to join as a member.
