Negative experience: FIRE BOZ! Disgraceful, disrespectful, racist and discriminatory treatment -. My autistic (well behaved) brother has been swimming here for 1 year with no problem until this so called lifeguard comes to pose some made up policy to not swim and to only paddle in the paddling pool? Keeping in mind my brother can swim and had 2 people swimming with him. We paid for 3 tickets for 1 hour and got 20 mins of disruption and left. We’ve requested a full refund but his behaviour warrants immediate dismissal. - I will be taking this further.

Positive experience: Very good size swimming pool. Changing rooms were clean and the main building is air-conditioned which is great. I have seen comments saying that the pool is cold. It was a great temperature today. It is not a bath or spa, and people need to be able to swim and exercise for fitness without getting too hot. Nice community atmosphere too.

Positive experience: I’ve been visiting this place now three times, I think it’s a very nice community feel small leisure centre, I personally love it and I’ll summarises my review. • they have a decent size car park • they have bicycle racks outside • they sell swimming accessories by the entrance on the left hand side like swimming goggles, ear plugs, swim shorts and towels etc. I think this is a great feature. • they have coffee machines reasonably priced (my opinion) that offer lattes cappuccinos and hot chocolate. • they have two pools, one for adults and fitness swimming, and two for children and those that aren’t that competent. • the changing are decent sized, theyre big, they have a mixed sections and a divided sections for males & females. • they have changing rooms with showers inside them. • they have showers near the pools too • lifeguards are always present watching out • the gym looks decent (although I haven’t used it, I have seen the equipment) All in all my rating is 3.7 stars out of 5.

Negative experience: I paid over 6 pounds for freestyle swim to be told it was in the kids' pool. Communal changing rooms - no private changing - not everyone feels comfortable changing in public. Generally not a successful visit- would not go back.

Negative experience: Absolutely śhïť the receptionist was rude and they didn't let me through to go swimming

Negative experience: They have broken things there and they don’t bother to fix it. Theres been this ONE broken tile here for 8 WHOLE WEEKS and they most they did was block it off. the swimming space that you pay for is SO SMALL. Why have lessons AND free swimming going in at the same time. The MEDIUM SIZED swimming pool is literally split into thirds and sometimes the swimming classes don’t even have enough space and they have to go in a TRAIL. This means most of the time the kids cant even go at their own pace. If you can’t make the quality of the pool good enough then don’t have it. One last note. The changing rooms stink but the only good thing here is the teachers. One guy nearly drowned and they accurately helped him.

Positive experience: It's a good leisure centre with good facilities. Staff are nice and helpful. Could do with an upgrade which they are currently in the process of doing.

Fantastic experience: The leisure centre might have a few issues here and there, such as limited refreshments or facilities needing some attention, but overall, I really enjoy going. What truly makes the difference is the staff – they are kind, helpful, and always doing their best to provide a positive experience. Their friendly attitude and dedication go a long way in making the place welcoming.

Negative experience: For the last couple of months, way before 2025, the watt bikes in the gym have not been working. They have no out of order signs to say they are not working, and everytime we asked nothing is done. This is appalling

Children are not allowed to swim in an empty pool prior to Their lessons because the place has more rules and policies than the gestapo. .

Negative experience: Tiny usable gym area lots of wasted space. Barely any benches, good luck being able to get a full workout when the gym is even half busy. The swimming changing rooms often smell of urine, especially after kids swimming lessons. The showers in both the changing rooms and swimming changing area are filthy, covered in black mould. Broken tiles on the walls and half working. Steam room is broken more than it is open. The facilities are that of a £10 a month gym but Better charges a lot more, not sure how the management have hid the poor standards bringing down the name of better.

Positive experience: Generally a good facility with friendly people. Need to open earlier on weekends. Opening at 8am is very frustrating if you want to train before a busy day.

For God's sake, increase the temperature cause is December almost!!! I was inside of the swimming pool frozen and people next to the swimming pool had jackets and hats on!!!!!

Negative experience: Really bad experience, teachers change every week, late start, they don't use the time efficiently at all, children just play in the water for a bit and then leave.

Negative experience: The amount of money I pay for this gym. Does not add up with the poor service. The cold showers, no air-con in the gym. It's just really hot. They change the gym lockers, then don't let members know. When I turned up, I found out when I went to use the locker. I then went back to the front desk to be told, "Yeah, we change them! OK, so can I buy a pad-lock? No, we are sold out. Extremely bad experience, and I will be cancelling my membership and looking for another gym. This place is a depressing location to be training

Fantastic experience: It's much cleaner than Southbury Leisure centre. Swimming teachers are nice and caring of kids. Reception team also kind and helpful. Changing rooms nice and clean, plenty of spaces.

Negative experience: Swim for fitness has become overtaken by other classes that take up the majority of the pool almost every evening - this leaves up to 10 people swimming in 1 lane, all different speeds and abilities and it has just been chaotic. You can't contact Albany directly to ask in advance if the pool will be dual-used, you can only call Better, who don't know anything about what is actually happening at the leisure centre. Membership cancelled.

Negative experience: Reception staff very rude in need of immediate customer service training,drunk on power let's just say you will be treated different by certain staff members if you look a certain way. Changing rooms and showers in need of major refurb as well or I will notify environmental health of the poor standard! Swim lanes please sort this out!

Positive experience: I decided to do some classes at this site instead of my usual gym. It's smaller but has lots of equipment which we do not have at my gym. Was impressed and booked to do more classes there.

Negative experience: I recently visited Albany Leisure Centre, which has been taken over by Better. These are my observations: Firstly, the hygiene standards leave much to be desired. The toilets, changing rooms, and gym facility areas were dirty, which is puzzling and disappointing. It is reasonable to expect Better to get the basics right and maintain these areas in a pristine condition at all times. The neglect in this aspect severely impacts the overall user experience and raises concerns about health and safety. The gym equipment, while it has almost everything needed for a workout, is noticeably old and the layout seems to lag in embracing contemporary fitness trends, particularly in functional training. The centre has the potential to be a top-notch facility under Better's management, comparable to some of their inner London centres, but significant improvements are needed. Laser focus on hygiene standards and an update in gym equipment and ethos are critical to justify the membership cost.

Fantastic experience: Margaret’s aqua aerobic class is great ! It’s a basic class which caters for all levels of fitness giving those with little confidence an opportunity to give it a go , and those who are stronger to push themselves harder through the exercise and get the most out of it. Great class!

Negative experience: Very dirty and it’s not worth the money you pay monthly, I had to cancel my membership because the changing room was not clean ,the swimming as well not clean people goes in to the pool with their normal clothes on and it’s not clean.

Positive experience: I started visiting again after new company called ‘Best’ took over. Sauna and steam baths are now clean and generally area is clean too. Staff is nice and helpful. However changing areas are utterly cold. No heating. Few hot water showers are working and most of the time water is cold. Water in the Swimming pool is also cold than usual. Hence the 3 stars.

Negative experience: I took my son there for about 3 months for swimming classes, however I had to give up as the teacher was changing every month and was not able to keep up with every child’s progress. And the changing rooms and toilets are very dirty. The changing rooms smell of urine.

Negative experience: My kids have been attending a weekly swimming lesson for almost 1 year. They have moved up 1 stage in this time but their progress since has been poor. In that time they have had at least 4 different instructors. When I asked reception about the change in instructor yet again, they explained that they had to move them around to cover for lifeguards. I also told them about my concern that the kids were not progressing so she advised to look elsewhere if I wasn't happy and keep in mind that other kids have progressed and it could just be my kids not learning. Lovely! To add to all this, the changing rooms are quite dirty and smell of urine. Needless to say that the kids will no longer attend the swimming lessons.

Positive experience: Went for the teaching pool. Was the best one I've used in Enfield, was a nice temperature, staff were good. Was pretty clean in comparison to other fusion sites, would recommend.

Negative experience: Got 2 different pricing also saying they don’t do student discount for pay as u go when. I was told on another call that they do!!

Positive experience: Definitely needs a new locker system. The current isn't fit for purpose. The pool is okay but not deep. I prefer southgate over this place. Also, parking can be difficult.

Negative experience: Wish there was 0 stars, there is no hot water in the leisure centre for months and they are doing absolutely nothing about it. So you wont be getting your moneys worth in this place, there literally small children who go there for school swimming and they shower under freezing cold water! Terrible place

Positive experience: Wasn't the best experience, they too many people at the same time, so it was over crowded. Too many people in the pool at same time. No to mention check in, most times ur card won't work and u ve to queue for God knows how long.

Negative experience: Just experienced a case of racism at the centre today. Please give me a number to call asap before I take this matter further. Time now is 19.01pm Thursday 02.03.23. The manager Nikki was poor, lied, and did not resolve my issue. As a long time member of over 20 years, I should not have to experience this kind of thing. Andrew

Positive experience: Facilities are good, better than Southbury for lockers and showers and changing rooms. But there is nowhere to sit while your child is at swim school besides a few chairs which get snapped up fast.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for 3 weeks now ,and I must say Junaid is absolutely SUPERB such a good teacher so professional and really knows his stuff. He makes everyone feel soooo welcome and helps everyone, regardless at what level your at. Fantastic class and he makes us sweat sweat sweat I be at every class now that’s for sure

Negative experience: I will be cancelling my membership. Sauna steam room sometimes they work and most of the time they don’t work. Staff have no clue of the rules and how to enforce them. I been kicked out the sauna that I pay for to use. I would not recommend to anyone to use fusion.

Negative experience: If I could give it no stars, I would. This place is an absolute shambles, with the most horrendous staff, who are always miserable & unapproachable. It’s dirty all the time, never seen it clean. The changing rooms are absolutely vile. For toddler swimming lessons 9/10 you’re in the big pool & your child is frozen. The only good thing about this place is the woman who does the toddler lessons. Other than that, SHOCKING. They are quick to take your money but can’t sort their own centre.

Negative experience: Wanted to query about signing my 2.5 year old daughter for the swim school and the gentleman on reception at the time assured me that she WAS old enough to start swimming lessons in the preschool group (without me going in with her) on Saturday mornings. He took my payment of £64 and told me her first lesson would be the following Saturday. However he was clearly wrong!! When I arrived the following Saturday I was told she was too young to start the preschool swimming school. They made me fill in a refund form and told me I should receive it in 6 weeks. Fusion then took a further £30 a month later baring in mind I had not used any of the services!! So now fusion owe me £94 and I've been waiting over 2 months for my refund!!! I've had numerous calls from the centre asking me why I've cancelled my direct debit as well. So why are they quick enough to contact me wondering why they're not receiving any money from me but taking all this time to give me my £94!! It's absolutely disgusting!!! I've emailed them numerous of times asking where my refund is and all I get told is they'll chase it up. It's not that hard to refund someone what they are owed!! And clearly the man on reception needs further training on ages appropriate for the swim school!! I want my £94 back please!!!!

Fantastic experience: Since 2018 I have had the opportunity to attend the leisure center in Albany park. It is close to home, and every now and then it happens to go to use the swimming pool. Today I was impressed by the customer service for reception, information, welcoming body language. The person in question is Sonia / Sophia (I'm sorry, I don't remember exactly which one was the name, she's Turkish) I observed her not only how she behaved towards me but also with the other customers. Excellent customer service. I think we need more people like her.

Negative experience: Good for a swim and sauna but now they cancelled the option to book it thogather and also you can only make a booking for ONE person online, idk why but it's just very inconvivient. I have called reception they can't book anything through phone, says I have to go there in person, which seems very inconvinient, not everyone wants the app on their phones but otherwise you can't book anything for 2 people only for 1 person. That is if the website is working. Please fix this problem, I would like to come more often but I can't book anything.

Negative experience: Dirty water and life guards that refuse to tell people to move from standing having a chat at the ends during lane swimming. Dirty facilities and unhelpful reception staff; who outright told me a concession card doesn't exist for students when it clearly states it on every fusion website and the Albany specific one that they do.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting service! Pool was freezing my little one was in there for ten minute and lips turning blue! Still waiting for my refund since October and accessories brought broke without use. Customer service and manages useless. An absolute disgrace not what it used to be!

Negative experience: Last session of the day with four children and six adults. The children enjoyed the swim. We were told the session was over at 4 and at 4.15 they were trying to hurry us up to leave. At four twenty five someone came in and said they were waiting to close. We were ready and came out of the changing area in pitch blackness as they had turned all the lights off. There were a few corridors to walk through which was quite daunting with young children in toe. We walked to the automatic doors which would not open and a guy said we had to open them ourselves. Quite frankly the staff were rude, the changing are was dirty and I would not recommend it to anyone

Negative experience: Swimming pool is chaotic and unsafe. I have been a member for 6 months and I only use the swimming pool despite having access to the gym. The pool schedule is appalling; majority of the lane swims are during normal working hours and Saturday lane swims have been closed for the past couple of months due to staff shortage. The sessions I am able to attend are managed terribly. Too many people in one lane with different level of swimmers, kids jumping and playing in the middle of the pool, showers barely work... The lifeguards are supposed to spot and prevent hazards and accidents. Unless told otherwise, I believe they would let anything happen in the pool unless someone is drowning. I have raised this to staff members and management, and left feedback on their website. The leisure centre is in a great location and I was willing to pay the membership price despite using only the pool facilities. So glad I've terminated my membership, good riddance!

Positive experience: Took my kids on numerous occasions.They always have a great time, staff were nice and accommodating to my needs. However reason I'm giving 4 stars is the showers are awful, 2 of them didn't work and the rest had very low pressure. Changing room have half the light bulbs out in the family changing cubicles and only one hair dryer works. Parking is good.

Negative experience: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME! I just spoke to the most awful ‘manager’ ever. She was full of attitude and did not even listen to what I had to say. My sons swimming classes have been cancelled twice now with only a couple of hours warning when I have asked them why they just tell me that there is no teacher to facilitate the session. Mind you we only signed up a couple of weeks ago and he has not even had one session as they have booked him onto a class with no teacher!! I do not know what the manager is being paid to do but is absolutely awful and hang up the phone on me- disgraceful behaviour!!

Negative experience: DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS CENTRE! They don’t even deserve 1 star! I have been a member for over a year and I can honestly say it has become worse over time. The staff have a disgusting attitude and do not communicate with one another or their customers. They keep changing times or cancelling classes or swim sessions, they wipe it from your app but do not call you about it. Last week I scheduled a yoga session and swim and was not informed the time for yoga classes had changed so I was then 30 minutes late and could not attend the class and they did not have a lifeguard available for Lane swimming so it was cancelled! I was informed by the area manager that I would receive an apology email and they could not reimburse my membership sessions but, they would give me credit to by swimwear from their desk which I did not want or need and I did not receive any email or credit so they like to lie!! Today I was on my way to yoga which I usually attend every Friday and Saturday and noticed halfway on my bus journey there the classes were not showing on the app. I called the centre and a rude lady said with an attitude that it was cancelled and that I should check my phone number on my membership as it’s wrong because they tried to call me. I informed the lady I have been working from home and my phone did not ring, I then asked for a contact number for head office and the lady hung up on me. I am now going to cancel my membership as they do not deserve to be getting £46 a month to not be able to attend things you have booked, or go into the gym with half the equipment broken or to use their filthy facilities!!!! They are a JOKE!

Positive experience: The Gym is not too big, and is alright if you're not there at peak times otherwise it would be too busy. The swimming pool is decent size, but when I went at 9am for a morning swim, the pool was divided. 1/4 for swim lane swimming and 3/4 for a class. The class had about 8 people hardly using any space and the swim lane had about 15 people swimming at all different speeds on 1 lane of swimming. Quite poorly delegated space usage. The bottom of the swimming pool as a lot of dirt in some areas and looks very bad. The steam room smells very bad and needs major refurbishment. The sauna room is quite good. 4/7 showers work by the pool. Changing rooms are okay. All in all, not bad for a public leisure centre, users are friendly and they have a good community.
