Fantastic experience: First time at IMA to watch an event and I was not disappointed. I had two of my friends competing (against each other nonetheless) and was blown away by both of their performances. Every fight on the card never had a full moment. The staff were warm and welcoming and it is apparent to see that everyone is there to support one another. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn MMA or those who are looking to progress, to join IMA.

I was brand new to the world of Jiu Jitsu and from the first call I received from Harry after filling in the trial form, to the Free trial class with Liam and my first evening at the academy, through to 1-1 coaching with Steve and my first competition, the entirety of staff, the members and the whole environment has been nothing but phenomenal at IMA. They go out of their way to ensure that your journey is unique and tailored towards your goals and ambitions, with a flexible schedule that allows me to train around my work and commitments, every day there is always time to get on the mats and train. Fantastic experience: I usually train at a GB gym but Coach Haseeb invited my friend and I to his no gi and gi classes on Friday night. Both classes were amazing, the environment was a lot more laid back than I’m used to but it put me right at ease. Haseeb has a great coaching style, great banter with his students and high level technique to go along with it. His classes showed fundamental stuff which is perfect for any level but he kept dropping in lovely details I hadn’t heard elsewhere which also made it high level fundamentals for those who are slick enough as Haseeb would say. Couldn’t recommend this place enough

Fantastic experience: IMA Leeds is the best mixed martial arts gym in the area in the area to make sure you put your best foot forward. I am genuinely impressed with the facilities - the mats are the best mats in the business, the heating and sound system is a welcoming luxury and the space is very clean. Every member of the coaching staff are very well experienced and easily share their top quality knowledge whilst being a welcoming troupe of people to talk to. Due to moving around the country IMA is the third BJJ / martial arts gym I have been a memeber at and I had free trails at other gyms in the area and IMA Leeds had the best vibe for me with members having an all round positive outlook.

Fantastic experience: I came to IMA from another Gym that I had a really poor experience with. I signed up to IMA the day it opened it's doors last May and I have been on average 3 times a week, every week, since. IMA is NOT the average gym. There is ZERO ego here. Everyone appreciates each other and the atmosphere is inviting, friendly and welcoming to everyone, regardless of experience & background. The Coaches are elite and the most attentive I have ever come across. There is no "Black Belt" ego here. All the Coaches want to see everyone learn and progress and they will ALWAYS roll with anyone, whether it's your first day doing BJJ or you've been doing it for a decade. I have brought and encouraged as many friends as I can to come and try IMA and the majority end up staying. That says it all. In addition to the Tier 1 coaching & mega facilities/training areas, I have made some amazing friendships at IMA and I really encourage you to come and visit so you can have the experience I have had. Fantastic experience: I started training at IMA for Jiu Jitsu about a month ago after being a member of a couple other BJJ gyms in North / West Yorkshire The facilities and coaching are almost unbelievable. The mat space is massive compared to other gyms & clean, there is heating and good ventilation (after training at other clubs without this, it's ridiculously noticeable), alongside a fun, relaxed atmosphere during classes It feels like you are learning stuff that actually works at the highest level in the sport, and the coaches break these kind of moves & sequences down so that complete beginners in the classes can also understand and improve. All members that I have come across are also super friendly and welcoming to visitors/new members which can always be a worry when joining somewhere new. Such a great place my only regret is not coming sooner!

Fantastic experience: Started at Ima just over 2 weeks ago after showing my interest online I received a phone call from one of the coach’s inviting me down to a trail session for half an hour to learn some basics and then was offered to stay for the next session and to come back later on in the week. Since then I’ve signed up as a member and returned The main reasons being the atmosphere there’s no sense of ego or negative energy everyone there is just trying to learn and have a good time no matter if your complete new (like myself) or had previous experience, the second reason the session times due to my job there’s some days I can only attend in the morning and some times only at night which is fine as they run sessions at different times throughout the week offering up to 41 hours (some of those hours allocated just for pros as well). Third the coaches they have time for everyone that comes in to learn and explain techniques clearly and understandable and just really nice people. Four the equipment the mats, bags, gloves, shin pads and everything else is all top end stuff which is clean and hygienic so if your having to borrow something for a session just know it’s been cleaned to a high standard. I could keep going on and mention many more reasons on why i like this place! So If your wanting to start or grow your abilities in a positive, friendly, supportive environment I would highly recommend showing your interest online.

Fantastic experience: A great gym where everyone is really welcoming. All the coaches are really high level and very well equipped to help you get better quickly. The facilities are also great, being attached to UltraFlex, and benefitting from its showers/changing rooms/sauna/ice bath.

It's not just about the physical training! In just a short time, IMA has helped me feel more confident and definitely reduced my anxiety. It's been amazing for my mental health. Fantastic experience: IMA is a great gym with amazing facilities. I came to Leeds for a month for a work placement and was looking for somewhere to keep up with training as a female blue belt. I found IMA straight away and immediately felt welcome. The coaches are all really friendly, enthusiastic and so knowledgeable, I felt like I learnt a lot from them especially Liam Cann and Joshua Taylor. Everyone who trained here was really welcoming and I never felt intimidated. I would recommend IMA to anyone, of all levels and ages, looking for a fun place to train. If I am ever in Leeds again, I would definitely come back here!

Every time I’ve been to IMA I’ve been made to feel very welcomed and the atmosphere is electric, full of people there to support each other, no egos or people throwing their weight around. The gym is super clean with a break out area including teas and coffees, the cage upstairs is immaculate, perfect location separate from the matted area, giving you the privacy to focus solely on your MMA skills with no distractions. Definitely recommend anyone to try out a session at IMA, you’ll leave learning something new every time.

Everyone is really welcoming, the coaching is fantastic and suitable for all, whether you’re really high level or a beginner.
