Negative experience: Started my 4 year old on the preschool swimming lessons, found them to be very impersonal and not interested about any previous swimming experience or abilities on his first lesson. He got into the swimming pool and was swimming around before they even noticed, after a few minutes one of the teachers turned round and laughed that he was already in - there was only 3 children so surely they should be watching them all. They tipped water over his head before even talking to him, whilst he was still swimming, this is something he really isn’t keen on and had they actually called before the swimming lesson like they are meant to or shown any interest I could have told them. I understand this is something they need to learn however abit harsh after a few minutes in his first ever swimming lesson there, and whilst still in the pool with no warning when the other kids were sitting on the edge. Don’t know why people who don’t seem to like kids are doing the kids lessons. Cancelled membership and won’t be coming back. Also the changing rooms cubicles stink of wee and all nappy bins were overflowing EDITED TO ADD: promised a phone call in the response below, what a surprise no one ever called.. again. ADDITION: Morgan did phone me to discuss the issues, I am satisfied my concerns and poor experience was taken seriously but rating remains the same as this shouldn’t have happened in the first place

Positive experience: I changed my membership from elsewhere to wigston when I moved house at beginning of June this year. The gym equipment and room is brilliant. The staff have really friendly and helpful. Having a sauna is a bonus! But today I just got hit with a parking fine??? For parking in the bays directly outside gym by windows of pool. No clear signage here that as a member you still have to pay parking. The cost of parking will add a further 32 pounds a month or 200 pounds a year as non resident to the cost of going to gym on top of my 'already paid' years membership. I'm retired and on a limited budget. So - when was this this considered sensible by the council? I'm not blaming everyone active since its outside of their control. But! With another gym within walking distance of where I live now - plus that they do classes there too inclusive of the price ( wigston has no studio space with classes at all). I'm afraid I will be walking my butt to the local independent gym from now on. Sorry everyone active. The council has done you a disservice here. Additional comment.... After research I have now seen I can get a " leisure car park ticket " for 100 pounds a year from the council. But this still hikes up the overall price of using facilities. Purely gym only going members can find an equivalent gym in wigston with free parking and all classes inclusive for only £30 a month.

Fantastic experience: We use the swimming pool, both our children are attending swimming classes. There teachers are fantastic, they know each child personally. The front desk staff are also very helpful, it feels very personal.

Fantastic experience: I use the gym and I recommend it. It is small, but very clean and organised, the staff are very helpful and easy to approach. Very good personal training prices and easy to book on the app. I tried to find the right PT for a few years and here I found Curtis (personal trainer) who is amazing at what he does and he is highly knowledgeable!

Negative experience: I started to take my daughter here for swimming lessons with dawn who was absolutely lovely, however I have removed her from the class now due to rude reception staff on the front desk every week very unprofessional and even had eyes rolled at me one week when I asked them to buzz me through the gate for the swimming class. Also changing areas are not particularly clean or hygienic, not a nice environment at all and will not be returning here.

Positive experience: Overall a really good gym and swimming facility. Generally well kept and clean, although they have had an ongoing issue with their air conditioning in the gym which is making it a little unpleasant in there, however that's not the staffs fault. Staff wise, they'd get 5 stars if the review was just about them, very good people, special mention to Curtis who is a great asset to their team and seems to get along well with everybody. The gym can get extremely busy, more so lately due to what appears to be an influx in new members, but overall it's still a very good site to attend

Positive experience: People here are epic, all the staff and the people swimming. However, they advertise it as slow, medium and fast lane and actually it should be chatting/ stationary lane, extremely slow lane , and slow lane (people with floats are swimming in the 'fast lane') . Not really any good for people who want to get their lengths in. It's good for a chat and a mingle though and tbh I just met the locals. I got sad cos I basically kept getting behind People and almost touching their toes so I chatted to them instead. Yes I could overtake but from experience that savages my body and I can't get as many lengths in plus it messes up my breathing as I do front crawl. Also they have a weird take your shoes off policy but the changing rooms are filthy and full of dirt. The hairdryers blast about 4mph a bit like someone blowing breath on your hair - I mean it does help because it's hot air ( feels a bit like someone who tells micro lies/story's about their life which you know is blatently untrue but you have to listen to it anyway). You do know that people with veruccas and fungal nails/feet go swimming and they walk around the floor right, also people with ringworm etc.... Taking your shoes off to prevent a bit of outside bacteria in won't really help keep the changing room clean, unless the actual flooring is kept clean/disinfected. Which is obviously isn't! Anyway, I'd go again even it's just to chat , but not really to train!

Fantastic experience: Been coming to the gym for a few weeks now, I use the pool it’s always clean and water is warm. Showers available and plenty of lockers and changing cubicles. Staff seem friendly and always say hello on arrival. Can be very busy in the evenings but enjoy that there are plenty of swimming sessions to go to.

Positive experience: Kit is good, changing facilities are poor because you have to shower and leave your stuff on a bench unsecure because lockers are ridiculously placed in the public corridor... Mental...

Negative experience: Absolutely filthy changing rooms and toilets. My children attend swimming lessons since last summer and every week the changing rooms/toilet area is unhygienic, unclean and dirty. The toilets have wee/poo all over the toilets and on the floor no toilet roll and the floor has wee all over it and smells. The changing rooms are disgusting as well to the point I make my children stand on the benches to get ready. Wee on the floor in changing rooms, clumps of old hair, broken glass mirrors, bins smell really unhygienic. Never once seen anyone cleaning the changing rooms or toilets ever. My partner said the men’s toilet is the same no toilet paper, toilers not cleaned and smells really bad. I have spoken to reception about this before. Quite clearly not been taken on board at all. I have spoken to other parents and people who have been here as well who have all said the same thing. Surely hygiene in a swimming pool and toilets is not a hard thing to keep on top of. This isn’t a one off it’s every single week it’s filthy dirty and beyond disgusting. Somebody needs to get a proper cleaning team, or train staff how to clean properly, before people become ill. I make sure my children use the toilet after school now before bringing them to swimming that’s how bad it actually is. **updated review we have now left and found some amazing swimming lessons elsewhere, the hygiene was so bad and the swimming lessons had 10 kids in with 1/2 teachers/assistants in half hour my kids went 2 metres twice and back if that - appalling and such a waste of money they have learnt more in 4 weeks at their new swimming lessons than they did in a year !**

Negative experience: This gym is so unhygienic, I can’t even think to go back. I have joined the Oadby one, further from home but more hygienic.. I heard and read so many complains but nothing gets done. A real shame !

Fantastic experience: I attend the Saturday evening sessions that are arranged by Hubb Leicester. I come with my children and we've had an amazing experience, the pool is actively used before us, but it's all clean for when we use it (private session) staff are wonderful, very respectful and approachable. We really enjoy our Saturday evening swim!! Thank you to everyone involved!!

Fantastic experience: The Gym has Nice Modern Equipment. The atmosphere is friendly which helps with nervous gym goers. and the staff are very nice and helpful even when very busy. Always doing local challenges and events to fundraise for charities which helps bring members closer together. See some reviews talking about cleanliness not being great but not experienced this myself.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym! Facilities are kept clean and tidy. Staff are super friendly, approachable and supportive. Peak times are busy but that is to be expected and there is always someone to help if you need it. Definitely recommend

Negative experience: This is without doubt the most disgusting Gym in the area (Wigston), I will will go further and say the whole of Leicestershire. I have complained about the cleanliness on many many occasions, the hygiene standards are way beloid what should be acceptable. I'm told there is a cleaning schedule, if there is its not on public display, I was also told the staff who close the gym at the end of the day carry out a full clean NOT TRUE, if you arrive early in the morning you will find on most days the dry changing room is in a disgusting state, the toilets dirty and filthy dirty floors sinks and the showers not cleaned. I asked about the training of staff regarding there cleaning duties, no reply, I asked when they do through some water over the changing room floor what cleaning and sanitising products do the use, the answer none, the staff are inadequate trained in sanitising the whole Gym. This gym needs trained and qualified cleaning team, you would have thought the local council would have an interest by inspecting the facilitates, no one inspects anything at the Everyone Active Gym in Wigston not even management disgusting place.

Negative experience: USE ONLY IF YOU HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE. The gym is often too busy to be able to use the equipment or complete a scheduled exercise routine. There are no limits on the amount of people allowed in the gym at any one time. It can become quite claustrophobic. This is exacerbated by limited numbers of equipment. For example, there are only 3 upright exercise bikes, only 1 each of the various weight machines and only 2 benches. This is woefully inadequate. The gym also has the poorest level of hygiene and supervision I have ever encountered. Hygiene wipes are available, but dispensers are often empty. Even so, wipes are inadequate; it is impossible to clean equiment properly with wipes. Besides, many users don't bother to clean machines either before or after use because staff are not supervising the situation. Other gyms have paper towel dispensers and bottles of disinfectant spray available to use, which facilitates better cleaning options. This used to be the case at this gym, but shortly after the covid public health crisis passed these cleaning aids were withdrawn. Extraordinary! Very rarely are staff available in the gym itself. Assistance can be obtained from the reception desk, but to do so it is necessary to leave the gym, walk along a corridor, pass through a turnstile to access the reception desk, where invariably a queue of people are waiting. Not a very practical arrangement if an emergency occurs in the gym. On top of all this, gym users/members have to pay for parking, which is not included in the price of gym access. I continue to use this gym only because it is very close to my home and their are no real alternatives nearby. But if a decent gym opened up elsewhere in Wigston I'd be off like a shot. Oh, for a nearby David Lloyd facility! Today, was my first visit on many months. I had hoped things might have changed for the better. How wrong was I!

Negative experience: Micheal mitchel horrible man was aware of 2 children with autism and triggered it by using a fire alarm and screaming at everyone to get out of the pool and line up 5 minutes before the session was over!!!!

Negative experience: Parked here as a carer / support worker for just over a hour to support my client. Someone backed into my car and caused £420 worth of damage and drove off. Only cctv is at the front of the building but none down where I had parked. As I’m not in the area I pay £150 a year for parking so this years bill already totals £570 About time oadby and wigston council looked after the people who are paying to park on their car parks!

Fantastic experience: Been to more than 20 Everyone Active pools across the UK due to work and never seen this level of care and understanding from the pool staff! Not big in ages but very big in personalities!!

Negative experience: Book to use the sauna and there’s a 3/10 chance that staff will have turned it on. Waste of time and money - complaints fall on deaf ears.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Wigston are always friendly and helpful. I approached the manager, Jamie on two occasions. He is very easy to approach, very professional and generous with his time. In 42 years of going to my various children's swimming lessons, I believe he is probably the best I've had the privilege to watch

Negative experience: Please clean all the showers properly and daily. The drainage, tiles and walls are disgusting. Rubbish and stickers remain on the walls for days on end. The main gym area needs a vacuum once in a while to clear up toe nail clippings and dust etc. Why are the main gym TVs never switched on in the morning when they open? When will the men's dry gym hair dryers be repaired? very rarely working and the switches on them are smashed to pieces and look electrically dangerous. It's a shame it's not being looked after. The equipment is good quality and the staff are friendly.

Negative experience: So, after 3 years (Due to lockdown) Not swimming, I decided to take the plunge (No pun intended) and try Wigston Pool.. First thing parking now not free. Swimming price gone up. When I arrived at reception I was met by some young Yoot ( A work experience kid would of been more enthusiastic) Informing me 10.30 was in-between sessions. I informed him I didn't want to wait till 11.00, he had a word with Manager and reluctantly handed over my £4.50.and he opened the turnstile. Then off for a swim. To say the water was freezing was a understatement. Even Wim Hoff Would of struggled. I Lasted 20 Mins. Sauna was not on, But at least the shower was warm. When I challenged a Lifeguard On the temperature of pool he admitted Heat turned down to save money. Says it all really!

Positive experience: Mixed experience. Lad on front desk needs training in customer service, one word - miserable! Facilities were excellent tho, plenty of changing cubicles with lockable doors rather than curtains, private showers and hairdryers which is a nice touch. Clean and quiet. The pool was colder than the artic, myself and others arriving at the same time gasped on entering the pool, my baby was shivering and distressed most of the time. I managed to control the situation by holding her close to my body for warmth. To be honest I would have expected a life guard to come over and enquire if she was okay and advise about the risks of hyperthermia in their pool, I did hear other parents and little ones complaining about the cold. I'm going to try once more with a full body wetsuit, but I do not recommend this pool for babies and young children without full protection.

Thanks for the free childrens' sessions this summer... this enabled families enjoy the pool without worrying about affordability. I wish other pools and council would follow you.

Positive experience: Oadby & Wigston Swimming Club is excellent, friendly and welcoming. The head coach, Josh, is exceptionally passionate about swimming, nurturing and caring about the swimmers in the club. Great for parents too as friendly and social

Fantastic experience: Joined this gym after my regular one just shut down, was quite apprehensive at first but Lucy (personal trainer) reassured me after signing up to the gym. Lucy has been absolutely amazing in my fitness journey from creating exciting workout plans to real heavy sweaty personal training sessions, she constantly keeps in contact to track how things are going and always keeps her clients informed of up coming fitness event's A real asset to the gym.

Fantastic experience: This place has really good customer service, staff are really helpful getting started in the gym. Find the centre clean and tidy. The centre provides great cleaning stands so people can clean their stations after use so feeling very covid secure and even got myself a new gym kit from their shop

Negative experience: My daughter has been going swimming lessons for 2 years and even though she started school and will be going into her next year at school in September she is still at stage one, stage one is meant to be for pre school and then you go into stage 2, she's had loads of different teachers which means the consistency isn't there, there is no room in the pool too many children not enough space to swim, the only reason I stayed was because she likes the people, a few people have been under the water for the lifeguard to save them because the teachers are oblivious, manager is very unprofessional and will argue with the staff in front of everyone, reception is always very unorganised, can't think of anything good to be honest, also there is apparently a log in on the website to see how your child is doing I only know this from another parent being told by someone else not by anyone working at everyone active no surprise! Unless you are desperate enrol somewhere else!

Positive experience: Pricing - haven't been able to find pay as you swim prices online, but each time we do swim it seems to be a different amount - perhaps different between term time and holidays? Once there, it's quite clean but we've found a few issues with locks on changing cubicles broken (today only two of the family cubicles were available, and the others really aren't enough to squeeze in a family). There are also a fair few lockers that don't work, or lockers with broken wrist bands that won't stay on in the water. The pool itself seems clean, and is never too busy on a Sunday morning, although it was cold enough that our youngest son was shivering. The swim lessons look like fun and are well attended and supervised.

Positive experience: It's a decent pool and gym but they missed a trick here as there should have been a room or two for classes, such as yoga, body pump etc. The water is too cold in the pool, especially in winter.

Negative experience: As all everyone active gyms I've been to, it's too small for the number of people there.. Gym is always busy and there are queues for certain weight machines..

Negative experience: Went swimming today at 18:00 with my disabled sister. We were in the pool which was crowded and really load so we stuck to one side. When swimming a group of kids jumped in taking up half of the pool nearly landing on both me and my sister and nothing was said. The lifeguard almost laughed as he saw these kids nearly jump on a pregnant woman and disabled adult. Not impressed and will not be returning!!

Negative experience: Not happy of their swimming pool health and safety (hygiene). Lots of notice everywhere that all visitors must to wear overshoes, but only few people follow this rules and manager keep ignoring this fact...

Positive experience: Clean and all you can expect from a local family sport's centre. New gym, not always able to go swimming due to swimming lessons but they do have a sauna.
