Negative experience: Receptionist ruined my day , people come to the gym to make themselves feel and look better . I have a gym pass that allows me to use majority gyms in uk + bring a friend . I showed my pass , and my partners name was already logged from pervious sessions which was confirmed by the receptionist. Now because i for some reason was not receiving the link to log my partners details on there , which they already have . I wasnt allowed in . I explained , you have my pass ✅ you have her details ✅ you can see the type of pass i have ✅ no avail . I asked for her to use her discretion, no avail . I asked for a supervisor, i was told it fine , they can send me a link for a guest pass - back to square one because im not receiving a link which wants me to give them information about my partners details they already have. After waiting 20 minutes for this link to arrive , i just mentally had enough and walked away . Why ? Why would you have people working on reception that dont know how to deal with anything ? I should have known by the way the receptionist started the conversation, she had told me my guest needed to log all her information + a gym induction . I told her im a qualified lvl 3 pt , showed her my certificate and told her my partner has been in a gym many times . She then confirmed that she has already done the induction and that it will be fine. Me and my partner just went for a walk to calm ourselves, thank you to the receptionist who ruined our day .

Fantastic experience: Took my two 4 year old grandsons swimming at Flitwick leisure centre in the under 5's session. The parking us easy, the changing rooms and whole swimming area is exceptionally clean and the two pools available are ideal for the age range. We all had a great time.

Fantastic experience: Friendly helpful staff. Went to swim with my grandson all was good.

Negative experience: The people on the desk are miserable

Fantastic experience: Today during badminton at Flitwick Leisure Centre, I somehow managed to throw my racket up in the air… and it landed perfectly wedged on the bars in the ceiling (about 10ft up!). We asked reception if anything could be done, but honestly had little hope. That’s when Josh, the duty manager, and Jed came to the rescue. They were absolutely determined to retrieve it, and after some careful manoeuvring, they heroically got it down , safely and without a scratch. Josh and Jed are absolute legends! Thank you both for going above and beyond, brilliant service and a reminder why I love coming here.

Negative experience: Disappointing. After waiting at the gate for 5 minutes because the app wasn’t working to scan in and the people behind reception wouldn’t acknowledge us, we got in the changing rooms which smelt like sewers. The pool was disappointing to say the least as they hadn’t bothered putting the slow lane in which we had booked due to an injury and needing slow swimming. The general swim was full of lane swimmers meaning we were unable to exercise. Not to mention attempting to access the gym is pointless as it is full of youths and no machines are available. Wishing for a better gym to open in or around Flitwick.

Fantastic experience: Pools great

Negative experience: Only reason I use this gym is due to being close to where I live - the parking is always atrocious, people leaving their cars there and walking up to the train station as there’s no cameras yet sometimes when I come I can’t find a space even though I’m the one paying for the membership. Good gym but not worth the money when most of the machines I need or in general are out of order and there’s no priority to get them fixed, the bathrooms always have a bad smell so I tend to avoid using them as well as the showers.

Negative experience: I used to enjoy using this centre for the classes - and was prepared to put up with the slightly dated equipment - but since Everyone Active made the cost saving decision to only use unlicensed music, my enjoyment has seriously dwindled!!!

Fantastic experience: Lovely clean, new feeling swimming pool. Cafe is great and the coffee and snacks are perfect. Pools are both warm.

Fantastic experience: Went for a swim about 12pm centre was nice and clean. Staff are friendly.

Negative experience: Didn't let me in the pool because my goggles had a nose piece.

Negative experience: Really cold welcome to person who never been here before by reception staff. Unwillingness to help and generally poor attitude towards customer service. Was really unpleasantly surprised. If this happens next time I'll call the manager. I was just stunned so didn't do anything.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and excellent swimming lessons for children.

Negative experience: Pool was filthy and the unisex changing rooms were full of hair on the doors and tiles and unhygienic. Poor experience and if you want to lane swim, other pool users splash you which was unpleasant.

Fantastic experience: Great centre, state of the art sports gym.

Positive experience: They really need to lower the price of the astro pitches

Fantastic experience: I wanted to review the leisure centre based on the excelled customer service support when trying to sort out my membership. Chelsea was so helpful and so lovely on the phone sorting out an issue I had (the issue I had made myself not the centre) The leisure centre itself has been refurbished and has lots of classes to choose from. Would recommend!

Positive experience: Biannual antique fair. Lots of dealers of exceptional standard (especially the silver dealer) well attended. Cafe was rather slow as if they'd not anticipated the event but the food when it came was still excellent.

Negative experience: The ceiling in the showers literally fell down on us as we were showering! A huge crash and all the water shut off. I had to inform the life guard and when I spoke to the front desk about it they told me to report it on the app?! Toilets were clogged with loo roll (again, reception didn't/wouldn't do anything about it). Kids pool is cold in my opinion, compared to other pools we've been to, and my 2yo was shivering after 20 mins, depite wearing 3 layers incl a little wetsuit thing. Such a shame that the family swim times have been reduced and are often fully booked. These facilities could be great, but sadly they are poorly managed, and clearly falling down!

Negative experience: Gym for kids apparently! 100% avoid after 3pm on a weekday and just skip weekends. Large groups of teens utilising the equipment. A lot better gyms that don’t run gyms like youth clubs. I’ll take my £53 a month (membership cost is shocking too tbh) elsewhere.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with the management and staff at this centre. It has supposedly won the regional centre of the year award. It cannot be for hygiene. You only have to go in to the gym and see that neither the staff or the majority of members wipe down the apparatus after use. There is one large sign near the gym entrance and only one very small sign in the gym reminding everybody to wipe down after use. If ever we have a health issue on the scale of covid or even a winter illness problem the centre may have to close. This would mean possible staff job loss and no recreational use by members. Please, please abide by the rules otherwise we may lose the facilities.

Fantastic experience: Used both the swimming pool and gym. The newly refurbished gym is well kitted out and has a good atmosphere. The lane swimming is good but we try and go when there are fast lanes as well as medium lanes as otherwise you find that fast swimmers book onto the medium lane and then slower swimmers can feel pressured and forced out of the lane they booked.

Negative experience: Far too many kids just standing around or sitting on machines and not using them, recently underwent a gym refurb but there were still clear issues, leaks in the ceiling and so many pieces of equipment / machines broken and a lot without notice. Ended up cancelling the membership after 10 days, really unfortunate as it’s a local but I’d rather travel elsewhere further out!!

Negative experience: Bit of werid request but got asked to move seats by pool staff by 4 foot from where i sitting

Negative experience: The gym needs condemning, where to start… the female changing rooms stink of drains, which has been ongoing for a few years. No staff about to advise. When I join the gym, it was part of my membership that staff would tailor a workout in the gym suit my goals in this would be reviewed every few months as part of my membership. After you have done the initial instructions on how to use the machines that is it, no more staff, participation. Machines aren’t working properly or broken. Internet is patchy and you have to keep logging in all the time. As for the scan entry system, that takes for ever with people struggling with it, the membership fees is extortionate for the quality. This gym is not value for money.

Negative experience: Super friendly staff in the gym but the gym is just average and overpriced. Simply is far superior and cheaper- worth the extra drive tbh. Plus Everyone Active are vile and only interested in making money out of the public. Avoid EA at all costs.

Negative experience: Greedy corporation at everyone active. Use to love taking my children swimming. Went from during the week to now only allowing family swim in the small pools on the weekend. 3 hours for Saturday and Sunday? And it's going to be ramned! Scummy company

Negative experience: Some awful people work here. My daughter had lessons with Lana and doesn't want to go and now hates it. She loved swimming before. Very disappointed. Spoke to the manager who didn't do anything. Never again.

Negative experience: One of the most expensive leisure centre as compared to other centre like in Harrow, Watford etc. In other centre with £30 a month, swimming, gym and sauna is covered but here just swim membership is £32 which is very expensive. On top of that, most of the gym equipmets are outdated. Won’t recommend this centre

Negative experience: Since the recent gym refurbishment the gym is better but there are still a lot of issues like a leaking ceiling, old kit, lack of staff, broken lighting, disgusting toilets, etc. The other facilities in the leisure centre are good enough. Too often the gym is not staffed and they let underage kids use kit they are not supposed to use because they don't police their policy.

Fantastic experience: Been swimming here on many occasions. Changing rooms are nice and tidy and clean. Individual changing cubicles and cubicle showers are great. 2 small pools are fab for kids just starting out and learning and the big pool is great for getting in some lengths in the lanes or diving for a pool toy in the free swim area. Overall a lovely place to go alone for a swim or to take the family.

Negative experience: I will start by saying the gyms adequate with the selection of machines it has to use. The gym is also currently under renovation-(let’s see what they actually do to improve it). The smell of the toilets and changing room are so grotesque from the drains and human waste I have to physically hold my breath when walking in there. As other reviewers have mentioned it’s more like a youth club with amount of kids hanging around. Now I’m all for young people being interested in a healthy lifestyle and getting into fitness early. However they hang around machines in large groups ,taking up so much space and wasting so much time nattering to each other. It’s simply not fair on people like myself who only have a limited time to train. Surely having time slots for those 16 and under would resolve this issue as I’m not the first person to state their annoyance by this. I would 100 percent use an alternative gym if I could- but again living out in the sticks there are sadly no other alternatives.

Negative experience: Overcrowded, dirty, and expensive. Last time I went the squash courts were filthy. This has always been the case in the dozens of times I have used the courts. The gym is undersized, busy and staff not that helpful. Shame.

Fantastic experience: So friendly, clean and accessible. Classes, gym and pool are all brilliant. Good price for membership or you can pay as you go. Loads of parking!

Negative experience: The showers on the inside have not been cleaned for at least 3 weeks now (if they have then not properly) as one of the doors had grime splashed on the door and is still there as we had swimming this week. Cleanliness is the worst in the area, thinking about trying Robinsons in Bedford where the swimming lessons are also cheaper. Or Bedford girls school swim school is amazing too. I don't know how this place has passed health and safety, it's really dirty. The entry system acts as if it's a secret MI5 Base. The amount of kids and adults that have been hurt or trapped in the entry door, it doesn't give you enough time to enter really and slams shut after 0.06 seconds. We are just taking our kids swimming, leave it open during lesson times? Ridiculous. The swim lessons themselves are okay. However, the new company everyone active have made it complicated and we are not really able to see our child's progress so it's not very good tbh, using silly little stars. The old company system was better we could see a percentage of what they've done and what exactly they need to do to.progress, 80% etc. Not great.

Fantastic experience: Good facility for walking football

Fantastic experience: Great staff, the pool and changing area are kept clean, the cafe and viewing area are great for parents watching underwater hockey children's sessions as well as our adult sessions

Negative experience: Worst gym I’ve ever been to. Constant issues with the OUTDATED machines and take forever to be fixed. I’ve seen countless nude men in the changing facilities whilst there were young teenagers present and the rancid smell every time I enter is absolutely revolting. The manager is very rude.

Negative experience: My son has been having swimming lessons here and to say the instructor is disinterested and appears to not enjoy working with children is an understatement. The instructor looks bored and unenthusiastic week after week. He will often complain on the side of the pool about a child not listening even when he isn’t given much direction and the child is trying their hardest. He turns to parents watching in his words to have “a rant” about his pupils, rolls his eyes whilst they are swimming, and I could go on. Incredibly unprofessional. He looks like he would rather be anywhere else. My son has sadly lost his enthusiasm for swimming since moving into the class as he getting any positive feedback and little teaching. I am making a complaint and will try a different instructor but looking at others there I am not hopeful as a few just don’t appear to have any interest either and would rather chat to one another. Shame as it’s so close but will look elsewhere so he doesn’t lose the enjoyment of swimming.

Positive experience: Only been open a couple of years now, so facilities still fairly new. Has a small cafe so can have a coffee etc.

Negative experience: I hate this gym and only use it because there are no alternatives nearby. Gym is old and tired, with constant maintenance issues. Toilets reek. Changing room is badly laid out. Free weights area old and too small. Full of school kids milling around from 3:30pm. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

Negative experience: terrible staff and overpriced, go simplygym bedford instead + staff literally lie to charge you more i have experienced multiple times

Negative experience: Not gonna lie this gym is awful, I used to be a member a few years ago and came back as it’s near my work. Dirty, broken equipment, stinks, rude staff, kids everywhere on the gym floor. Also you have to log into some of the cardio equipment but nobody can tell me what details as my everyone active login doesn’t seem to work. For £39.99 raised to £42.49 a month in, it’s a rip off compared to gyms that can get the basics right. If you can avoid this place, do yourself a favour.

Negative experience: Cannot understand why the floats aren't put out in school holidays for the children to have a bit of added fun, the pool is more directed to lane swimming. Do not think that is a lot to ask, pls give it a re think and let the kids have some fun !!

Positive experience: Yeah the centre has nice people working there. Think some of the new booking setup for the swimming pool is a bit over the top but works ok. Would be great to see the climbing wall back in action.

Positive experience: Well laid out changing rooms, clean and good sized children's pool.

Negative experience: Can never take my Son to swimming due to the pool either being "fully booked" when there's barely anyone in it too oh theres a problem with the pool temperature. Poor show since the take over

Negative experience: My daughter has enjoyed swimming lessons here from the age of 6 months. Do register your kids early as there’s a waiting list. Good pool, and well heated. Changing facilities are good but sometimes needs cleaning more often. The new company who has taken over the sports centre has made booking the next stage sessions a nightmare! Surely there should be a system that you can book the same swimming instructor and have some continuity in the key stage process?! Please sort out your app and process otherwise you will lose clients. 5 stars for the current swimming instructor who’s has a wealth of experience, knowledge and has given my daughter the confidence to swim. I am taking time to edit this review with a 1 star!! The swimming facilities and a particular swimming instructor (not the one previously mentioned who has left), has completely gone downhill. There is an issue with safeguarding. I have complained to the sports centre and the council. I will be making alternative arrangements for swimming lessons for my child.

Fantastic experience: Started swimming here this week. Pool is just the right temperature and not strong with chlorine. Lighting is perfect and not too bright. Makes for a relaxing workout. Life guard always on standby.

Positive experience: New to area so trying out gyms - tried this on a day pass. The gym at this leisure centre feels like a leisure centre. It’s not comparable with cheap gyms like Pure/Anytime/The Gym - I think they’re better as gyms, but not any round Flitwick. The weights equipment is mismatched and quite old. The dumbbells go up to 56kg which is wild considering there is no bench press or any other barbell pressing equipment. There are two squat racks and two smith machines, but as no bench press I think these will be difficult to use in peak times. Tonnes of cardio and weights machines but the free weights area lacks. Will be joining another gym.

Negative experience: Please avoid at all costs. The manager is inhumane, rude and pathetic. I requested my issue to be investigated which they refused to and said the customer is at the wrong here. Upon asking for complaints procedure I was threatened with being sued.

Positive experience: 3 different sized swimming pools, various rooms for other activities, a gym and a crèche. There is a climbing wall but it hasn't been open for a while. Allow extra time to get through the barriers

Fantastic experience: Nice gym with different activities for different age groups. It had a rough patch when switching parent companies, but everything seems to be in working order again.

Negative experience: Have to book to general swim and only got an hour as aqua dance class was going in on a bank holiday. Half of pool could hve stayed open

Positive experience: Nice swimming pool. Great little area for babies. Not the biggest baby pool but good they have something specific.

Negative experience: We have been going regularly for 3 years every Sunday morning myself and my daughter for a general swim and to be told we now can't swim because a new company has taken over has upset my daughter we didn't even get an email or call to let us know definitely will be cancelling our membership and find somewhere else

Negative experience: Congested swimming lanes since EA took over. Mandatory booking for swimming for members doesn’t work. Lots of issues since the new management took over and no signs of them taking any notice of customer feedback.

Negative experience: So they changed the booking cancellations and now you have to cancel classes 4h before it starts. This is unbelievable and I will not be attending it in the future. Had to pay as I cancel it 2h before. Very annoying!

Negative experience: Has gone down hill! The gym is full of old equipment that is in desperate need to be replaced. July 2023 when writing this, I've attached a photo that shows some equipment was not tested since 2016/2017. £40 a month for this!!!!!!! Shameful!

Negative experience: The only reason I am still at the gym is for the Bodycombat and Boxercise classes that are run by a lovely instructor and the community. Unfortunately the gym itself has been taken over by Everyone Active and they have increased the numbers for some of the classes that have made them risky of people kicking each other as we are very close. Apparently Everyone Active have completed risk assessments but not very well. It is not being very inclusive for those who may struggle with change, easily overwhelmed or being in close proximity of others. In addition to this, I also go to Tai Chi, which is now hard to relax for due to the amount of people and that is with 22 people out of 32. The QR code to scan to access the gym has been very hit and miss. It has gone down hill dramatically. They only care about money and profit. If I was able to rate the instructors themselves be 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: Great facilities and love the pool! clean and good sized changing rooms, friendly staff, coffee shop and so much more. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Cancelled my membership months ago and since EA took over my direct debit has been re taken again (without my permission) have spent the last 2 weeks ringing the centre and emailing EA with no response Emailed the MD directly today- so far no reply Can’t make any contact with the centre to sort out a issue they have made and as a result I am £40 short!

Negative experience: My comment focuses on aqua ed swimming lessons. The manager is rude, dismissive and unwilling to listen. The swimming classes are very overcrowded, 8 children per lesson and most of the children's pool time is spent at the side waiting for their turn to swim. I would not recommend aqua ed for swim lessons.

Negative experience: Would give it 0 if I could. Where do I start? This gym is worse than any gym I have been to, in comparison to gyms in 2 of the UK's supposed worst towns - Luton and Birmingham. Dirty often. Clumps of mess under machines like the stairmasters. Showers and men's changing room smells and is often dirty. Hot water doesn't come out the showers and there's no sign up to say so. I've had a brain injury so these sort of things really really make me angry. JUST LEAVE A Sign. I take my contact lenses out, to have a shower and am virutally blind once I do. Naked and jump in the shower to find not an ounce of hot water coming out. Just the basics of having working suitable hand-wash dispensers seems an issue in this gym. Theres either no soap in the dispenser or the dispenser in completely broken/not there. People go and take dumps and don't even wash there hands then go train and touch up the equipment. Is it that hard. Go and buy some from tesco if it is and just leave it next to the sink! The staff that sit in that little office outside the training hall above the staircase are a bunch of see you next Tuesdays. Pretend to busy on the phone when you go in there. Go and do some work and clean the gym. Ampthill is cryinggg out for a new premium gym. Wake up. The only gym for all these villages is flitwick leisure centre which is a shambles. Piccadilly circus with loads of kids everywhere hogging the equipment/ on the phones and chatting away. So much land. Should be majorly refurbed and extended. Ampthill needs a new premium gym. It's an affluent Borough but really needs to open up and expand just like Solihull in the west Midlands
