Positive experience: A great variety of exercise options

Negative experience: Wow this place is disgusting. Everything feels dirty and it clearly hasn’t been cleaned properly in years. But beyond that the pool is freezing and the changing rooms are ice cold. Don’t recommend won’t be coming back.

Negative experience: Gym is the best part of this place although they do need to monitor the under 16s as they mess around and go downstairs (apparently not allowed). Where are the cleaners?!? The toilets have no toilet roll in. People say there’s no paper and it’s not sorted even the day after! Toilets do not flush properly and the smell in the changing rooms is horrid. This place needs a good clean and maintained. It’s a real shame as the gym is great

Positive experience: The classes are good but overcrowded as they aren’t on often, i’d love to see two evening group cycle classes a week. £4 cancellation fee with 4 hours notice feels harsh especially for morning classes, 2 hours would be more reasonable. Changing rooms always smell strongly of wee.

Negative experience: The actual gym is great, everything else however, is horrible. Not one of the female toilets have fully working flushes, there’s no air conditioning anywhere other than the gym meaning in summer the changing rooms are basically another sauna, and the drains/pipes smell so bad that you can smell it as soon as you enter the building - and it literally wafts up the drains in the changing rooms and makes you feel lightheaded. The cleaning staff are lovely and you can tell they try their best to keep the place clean but honestly they haven’t got a chance. Oh and despite all of this - they keep putting the membership prices up…

Negative experience: This was my first visit to the center, and I booked a swim session online. The booking system only stated "family pool available," which I assumed was fine. However, this turned out to be the toddler pool, which is only 0.9m deep. While the pool temperature was around 27°C Which is Not acceptable in a poll that you cannot swim around in to warm up, it was difficult to move around. As a 6-foot adult, sharing the small pool with many children made swimming challenging , I took my 12 and 8-year-olds, who tried to enjoy it, but the limited space and lack of movement made it feel very cold. I had to leave after just 25 minutes to warm up and put on my coat. The online booking system needs more detail about the available pools. A temperature of 29-31°C is generally recommended for pools used by young children. On a Saturday, I expected both pools to be open and accessible. Additionally, I noticed black mold in the shower cubicle. While I appreciate that the facilities are cleaned, I suggest staff pay closer attention to areas like the ceiling when cleaning shower cubicles. Overall, I was not impressed with my experience.

Negative experience: Terrible experience here on Saturday night taking my son to the inflatable session. we got changed and my little boy went poolside! I wasn't far behind but with excitement he decided to jump in as he always does! luckily he had his life vest on and is very confident in water, as there was no one manning the pool which I thought was strange! Within i'd say 2 minutes a young very rude women (Maddie) came over absolute screaming at us for him jumping in! I clearly stated we wasn't told to wait their was no signs telling us to wait ,no barriers nothing the door was wide open with just a shin high little bench placed close to the door!! We was told to go back in the changing room and waitfor 10 minutes !! then when this women was handing out centre life vests she was clearly ignoring my son out of spite he is 5!! So maybe something to look at for the manager! And Hiring jumped up idiots like that needs addressing. What worries me is that maybe a young child who cant swim could easily access that pool and things could really be alot worse

Negative experience: Couldn’t reset password, couldn’t find membership, tried charge over £150 to sign up last year and not only that Mike on the phone was rude as hell and clearly having a bad day. Forget this place.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities and the Everyone Active team is bang on it

Positive experience: Refurb and brand new kit! Brilliant, been a long time coming.. not all positives though.. a lot of negatives. Place is a huge mess!!!! No care for the kit, weights all over the place (left all over kit! No order to the weights on the racks etc!!!) and groups of school kids with no cue just standing talking on their phones. I’ve heard they’re onto the weight issue (a possible positive if it works). No decent leg equipment just the typical squat racks and leg press (not even a seated hamstring curl which is essential, instead a laying one is provided). Parking! Great.. if you can find a space also the main issue is the fact you have to pay for parking and request the money back at the desk (you do get it back each time if you show the parking invoice) but todo this daily when using the centre is a joke surely? Some kind of pass for the car windows would make life easier instead of the faff. Air con! Essential for any gym no matter the weather, this place has no ventilation (open shutter doors / windows to increase clear air flow) and to make it even worse the AC is never ever on properly ! Yes it may be colder outside but people are training in the gym! Surely it’s a health risk having the AC off / or low in a inclosed gym? It gets hot in the gym when actually training properly… IF people are cold they need to work harder or simply just wear more clothes? A hoodie / sweat won’t hurt? Instead of people having to suffer because it gets sweaty and horrible in there. This is one the centre can’t really win, either way people will moan it’s too hot / cold but when cold you can warm! It’s much harder to cool down specially when training.

Fantastic experience: Always enjoy swimming at Waterfield. This time I brought my husband and four grandchildren, two swimmers, two little ones just getting their confidence up. We had a whale of a time, and appreciate the new lockers and the lovely warm showers.

Negative experience: Be aware that Everyone Active is now applying their 4 hour cancellation fee period to swimming lessons as well, no prior warning to customers. If you need to change a swimming lane don't cancel and ring them instead! For a four hour period this is insane to have, even the staff agree about it.

Negative experience: Came to use the gym which was ok. Some equipment is broken but it is going to be refurbished at some point. The changing rooms on the right smelt DISGUSTING! The smell was horrid and especially near the hairdryers. It definitely needs to be cleaned properly! It’s a big shame

Fantastic experience: I like spending time here, especially at the pool with children, my kids love this pool.

Negative experience: Lockers broken no one cleans locker rooms through the day it's absolutely disgusting

Fantastic experience: The lifeguards were brilliant especially the young lovely chap called Richard he looked after me after my first time swimming for a while and made sure I was safe!

Negative experience: Full of cardio machines, missing important machines such as pecdeck and remove age restriction to use the dumbbells downstairs as the ones they provide only go up to 10kg and most the machines break and just get left there for months and i got told there was a refurbish on the machines when i signed up which never even happened? Refurbish was said to be in January and it is march already and still no new machines added definitely a ripoff don’t recommend signing up.

Negative experience: This gym sucks, there are barely any new machines and the broken machines barely even get fixed or it will just take so long, heard from my mate that there would be a revamp but instead there was no difference at all no machines, not anything. Too many unused cardio machines, i see lots of empty ones everyday. You can invest in new machines and replace the unused machines with the new ones.

Negative experience: What a terrible experience All we wanted to do is go swimming What a waste of time, shocking! We have just booked Uppingham school 20 mile journey because of this terrible system What ever happened to just going for a swim Maybe just maybe someone could actually answer the phone and take a booking or even help

Fantastic experience: Inflatables Party. 4th Nov Had my Son's birthday party at Waterfeild tonight, they had so much fun, the set up was great and the staff were absolutely fantastic, they made it so much fun for the kids and were very helpful. We had two children sat on the side as they had been poorly and couldn't swim and the staff even found ways to play with and include them. Fabulous! Really tidy and clean party room after the pool to feed and water the kids. Great night, thank you.

Negative experience: I have never left a bad review of anywhere before. But oh my. I was shocked. Mould growing everywhere you looked. The pool had mould growing around the sides and the water tasted stagnant. Nothing worked in the “better changing room” and the family one was vile. No locks on shower doors, mould on the floors, broken sides and hair filled drains that didn’t work- so leaving a pool of dirty water. I wouldn’t even give one star but cannot give none at all. Rude staff when you ask simple questions and when you raise an issue at the end, they just say “ok bye”. Like they don’t care. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting. The whole place was filthy and I don’t mean dirt I mean mould. All the changing rooms and swimming pool was covered in mould. All of the showers and locks on the cubicles were broken. Most of the lockers were also broken. It is also fairly price and for what nothing. I’ve never left a bad review of a place but this is an exception. Even when I confronted the receptionist saying that this is the worst pool I’ve ever been to she didn’t apologise she just nodded her head and said goodbye. Please whatever you do save your money and time and go somewhere else even if it’s a drive you will thank me big time

Negative experience: The pool designated for children is far too cold, the changing rooms are far too cold, the staff especially the manager could not care less. Week after week of rubbish excuses. Turn the heating on. Turn the pool temperature up.

Negative experience: Dirty changing rooms and a dirty pool. Visible lines of dirt and lime scale. Showers don’t work so everyone is going in the pool without rinsing and you cant shower after. Worst swimming experience I’ve ever had. Sometimes you show up on a Sunday and it’s closed without notice . Today I’ve been told the gym closes at 9 when the website says 10. This place is unreliable in the information they give out.

Negative experience: I used to live in Melton, am visiting with the kids and want to come swimming. Just going onto the website and it looks like you need a degree in figuring out the timetable, very messy and confusing. Just overly complicated. Three timetables for laned swimming? Just have one, timetables don't state which pool you are looking at. Will go swimming when we get back home.

Negative experience: The staff appeared great. But after my swim was surprised no shower facilities. A fellow swimmer said they’d been broken for months or years. The single changing room I used had no bench in it just a triangle in a corner big enough for a bag but not to sit on to put socks on etc. Other pools I’ve used from this group have better facilities. This one needs some investment. The pool itself was clean and water quality good.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member here for 2 yrs. Although the staff are polite the hygiene is below par, by quite some way. The shower in the Steam/Sauna has been broken for 7/8 months and is never fixed. I heard from one member that staff are saying it has legionaries disease due to the pipes….what!!?? If so, the area is not protected. I keep finding nail clippings on the floor, even the floor feels greasy. There is damp on the walls and on many occasions one member is using the steam room as his bath/shower. He washes himself in there every time I’ve seen him. When mentioning all this to the guy at reception he just turned his back on me. He clearly doesn’t care. The gym equipment isn’t great either. I’m not one to complain but I’ve had enough - myself and my girlfriend have both caught virus’ from this gym and were v unwell. As a gym you would think hygiene and wellbeing of members would be top priority, well it’s not. After asking to have my membership cancelled I have received no apology or contact from the gym. Don’t become a member.

Positive experience: Along with Melton Sports Village has some great facilities and staff are great. Has very annoying closing times. Saturday is very early and Sunday can be random week to week swinging from 9pm one week to 4pm or 6pm the next. Sometimes I've planned to go and it's been shut.

Negative experience: Web site a shambles and useless, impossible to book, App does not work ! Don't try calling as no one will answers the phone or response to email. Find somewhere else if what to use the pool.. unless you turn up in person but they will not let you swim as you not booked online!!! Only time you can get in if you have a child with swimming lessons, or your a member they do not what anybody else's custom...

Positive experience: Doing a great job with managing risk during Covid reopening! If only people who used the facility were aware of the requirements and etiquettes! Life Guards and Management need to work on how Swim England rules are applied. Staff happy to highlight where swimmers are overtaking (rightly so) but not advising / encouraging slow swimmers to let the faster swimmers pass. This is one of the reasons that faster swimmers are overtaking. Poor customer service levels also need to be tackled, members and clients are the lifeblood of any business and deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect.

Positive experience: Had a slot in the training pool this morning at 7am and was really shocked to be swimming with lots of bugs. Dead flies spiders and a beetle. The training pool has not been open long but I thought a good clean would have been done. I did bring it to the attention of the lifeguard. Will see how it is Friday

Negative experience: I recently visited this “centre” and was appalled by their shockingly low standards. This facility is a wreck, upper management obviously do not care about the standards of the centre or their staff. The changing rooms are disgusting and the building is falling apart. The woman who I now know to be the General Manager does nothing but skip around the building acting oblivious to the ruin around her, this kind of unprofessionalism in front of service users is horrendous, this girl needs to remember she is at work and not in a school yard. It is safe to say I will not be returning to this centre and I wouldn’t recommend it anyone I know.

Positive experience: Swimming is open at long last! But you have to book a slot online in advance. It is laned swimming with each session lasting 50 minutes and limited numbers allowed in each lane. There's a queue to get in and a one-way system round the pool and changing rooms. Not such an enjoyable experience any longer but at least they've reopened and you can swim again!

Positive experience: Prices my be rather expensive but the amount of equipment there is very good, staff are friendly and there is a nice atmosphere about the place.

Negative experience: Staff at the main entrance are pleasant and polite, however the same cannot be said for the woman running a class for a doctor referral. After being a regular user of the swimming pool on the session for the over fifties for over six years was surprised by this person lying to me and others, being offensive, rude, and wrongly accusing. I left the pool and other regular users found that the swimming was no longer enjoyable. Such a shame when this is the only swimming pool in Melton.

Negative experience: Absolutely mortified! I’ve been going to these swimming baths for 20+ years and yesterday I can honestly say was my worst experience yet and has really put me off ever going back. It’s £4.05 for an adult to swim now a days in what I can only describe as a very basic, very boring set of swimming pools. The changing rooms are absolutely awful, they constantly smell of urine from the toilets which are honestly vile and the floors are disgustingly filthy, with parents in and out for their childrens swimming lessons. I went into the pool played with my son and with 15 minutes left until the end of the session was being made to feel as though we should be getting out. After the session had ended I always use the showers which let’s be honest are ridiculous, they dribble and are normally filled with lose hair everywhere but, this time I was not only filled with the usual lose hair everywhere but by a dead and live cockroach! I have never, ever moved so quick as I did then. I took my son out and got dressed as quickly as possible and most certainly got my refund. The lady at the reception was lovely and got hold of the manager immediately who fully refunded me and assured me I would be receiving a phone call within the next few days to speak to the main pool manager! Let’s hope they stick to their word and get this hygiene issue sorted. UPDATE: Never did get my phone call from the manager even though I complained in a separate phone call, just got fobbed off and told that they would be in touch later that day moral of the story never trust a place that has cockroaches.

Positive experience: Nice pools. Children's pool can be quite cold, a mixed changing room can be a little off putting and the floors can be very slippery on exit from the pools.

Positive experience: Good gym services once you're in, getting bin though is confusing, I just wanted to use the gym, and they constantly tried to give me a membership, I just wanted to use the gym

Negative experience: My kids do swimming lessons which are always running late and overcrowded. the toilets always smell..otherwise staff are helpful and polite and probs need a pay rise.

Positive experience: Basic pool, no flumes or anything. Floats need replacing but kids still had a great time. Coffee machine out of order too ☹️

Negative experience: Changing rooms are awful as are the showers. I take my little one every week and the baby changing cubicals are always filthy. I have complained so many times but always falls on deaf ears. I Even dragged the duty manager in to show him once and he just looked at me gone out. Its usually Freezing cold amd stinks of urine as well. The lockers don't accept the new £1 coins and they expect you to buy a token to use in them which doesn't get refunded. Such a shame because it's all basic stuff that could easily be sorted.
