We ran our annual Christmas races for Juniors & Seniors at the Centre on Sunday and celebrated some fine performances in the fantastic Bowls Bar afterwards courtesy of Everyone Active. Thank you from all of us at Harborough Athletic Club for supporting community sport.

Fantastic experience: I've been delighted with Harborough leisure centre from both a personal and professional stand point. I swim twice a week most weeks and it's easy to book onto and easy to work the app etc. From a work perspective, taking 30-50 students swimming, they were super helpful to help organise and book. Would recommend thoroughly..

Fantastic experience: A welcoming, highly equipped, clean, friendly and inclusive leisure centre. Great cafe, amazing high quality gym, numerous fitness studios, friendly staff and a varied health and wellbeing programme for every ability, be it physical fitness or group wellness activities Their community cafe meets each Thursday at 11.30am-1.30pm for a friendly chat and hot drinks (you don’t have to be a member of the centre, you can drop in and look for the red t-shirts, everyone is welcome) Lucky to have in Harborough.

Fantastic experience: The gym is extremely well equipped - plenty of cardio machines and wide range of free weights and strength machines. The PTs are approachable and friendly and the gym is always spotless and tidy. Staff are very friendly at reception and also helpful.

Fantastic experience: Such lovely staff feel so welcomed coming in. I was having problems with my membership and spoke to Sam on the team and she was very knowledgeable and now im investing in the upgrade!! Would recommend. :)

Positive experience: The new sports hall is great and reasonably priced off peak but I really worry about the safety standards at the Harborough Leisure Center. Three times now I have booked to play tennis and there are solid metal obstacles in the way. Football goals, netball posts and metal plates sticking out of the ground. Someone will get really hurt soon so I hope this gets read and dealt with. There's no excuse for it in this day and age and with a brand new sports hall

Negative experience: Where do I start?! The lessons have way too many children, there’s now only ever one lifeguard, the app with their progress is rarely, if ever, updated, despite the teachers assuring me that they were making great progress in the pool, the facilities are dated, the amount of disruptive kids who just do whatever they want while their parents sit on their phones, different teachers every second week, overall an awful experience!!

Negative experience: My partner informed me tonight that her child has been promised to be assessed the past three sessions so he could move up groups. Each time there has been a new instructor with no notice. These sessions are being paid for and a child is being held back due to poor organisation. As another reviewer stated also, the groups are way too big. When the issue had been raised with the manager, Paul, she was encountered with rudeness. This is not the first time this manager has been rude to her either. I'll be making a visit to express my displeasure and to speak with management, hopefully Paul, directly to ensure there is a shake up in how customers, and children are treated moving forward.

Negative experience: Market Harborough leisure centre - Extremely poor to non existing customer service. Ridiculous bureaucracy, putting customers through hell after making a mistake themselves, not even an apology in sight. I'd leave if their Gym wasn't the only option in town. :(

Negative experience: The senior staff from the reception team is very rude, specifically the bigger older short hair lady. If you don't want to be there, just leave.

Positive experience: Cold water, changing room area stinks of urine.

Negative experience: Unable to find a swimming timetable, unable to contact through website. Wow. Worst website I've ever encountered. Guess I won't come for a swim.

Negative experience: I tried calling as had a new member enquiry. No one answered the phone for several days of me calling. Awful. I’ve taken this as a steer far away and likely a blessing in disguise!

Positive experience: Been swimming here since I was a child, took my kids the other day and it hasn’t changed much but it’s still great, food at the cafe is very poor quality and should be more healthy.

Fantastic experience: Nice and friendly place to work out and get fit . All the equipment is new and there's nothing you can't do . You can swim and do lots of other activities. Parking is also available .There is also a nice cafe where to can have a light lunch and hot drinks .

Negative experience: My kids have been having swimming lessons here since 2021. In general the staff are pretty good, with the highest commendation going to the instructor in the youngest poll who is simply amazing. However recently there seem to be too many children in each class meaning that lessons start late or the criteria isn’t signed off because the instructor doesn’t have time or never has a tablet. My daughter has been having lessons for the last 3 months without having a single thing signed off, even though she has clearly been full filling the requirements. Either it’s incompetence or they are milking the monthly membership. Either way I’m not impressed.

Fantastic experience: I’m recovering from a Spine operation and was advised to contact the Leisure Centre to get some much needed physio I cannot speak more highly of the staff there especially Nicky the personal trainer. I am so much better with her help and advice. Can I thank also the blonde haired young man who sorted all the paperwork out for. I’m sorry I didn’t get your name. The cafe is good too and after physio desperately needed haha Thank you all

Positive experience: The only thing that is missing is a shower room. There is in the swimming pool area but not for the gym. I would still come and exercise there because it is always clean.

Fantastic experience: It offers the full package, gym & swim plus classes. A good asset for the town.

Positive experience: My experience, i use the gym so i can only comment on the gym its a great gym with free weights and machines and cardio , Here is the but there is shall i say younger person's use their phones more than a work out . I use the gym in the evening so there seem's to be very few staff to police this .

Negative experience: Dreadful dreadful website and app! Can’t login, no password comes through, no response to my emails to reset it. Just take my money and then aren’t bothered! The lady on reception however was very helpful…but the website and app are shocking!

Negative experience: Fantastic new facilities. But seems to be poorly managed ATM. The conditions our youngest swimmers are having to deal with at harborough everywhere active is not acceptable. Blue lips and shivering from the cold water with swimming teachers even struggling with the temperature. Staff ignoring repeat pleas to improve the conditions. Success starts at grass routes. It won't if they are afraid to even get in the pool.

Fantastic experience: This is a brilliant facility with a lovely community feel. The staff are friendly and helpful and are always prepared to go the extra mile. There are many activities to choose from here and it has so much more to offer than just a gym and swimming pool. There is some refurbishment going on at the moment but once that is completed it will be a wonderful facility for the people of Harborough and beyond.

Positive experience: Swimming pool is designed with lane swimming more in mind but there is areas with shallow parts for little ones. There is a single tube slide which is fun enough, but not very big. But it's lovely to have a quick hour swimming locally.

Fantastic experience: Harborough leisure centre, has a wonderful swimming pool, and now that the centre has spent some money refreshing the facilities, they look and feel so much better. Soon the new gym facilities will also be available, so there will be something for everyone to stay active

Negative experience: Don't bother calling no-one answers.......ever. on hold for 32 mins before I gave up, from first thing this morning If the app worked flawlessly it wouldn't be such a problem. It doesn't

Negative experience: The changing rooms are incredibly dirty and unpleasant for the pool and the smell of urine is very overpowering. Cleanliness is clearly not something that the management team seem to value. You know your in for a good time when even the lifeguards chairs are covered in rust and filth.

Positive experience: Swim coach Julie is really nice and booking system is easy. Really wish cleanliness was a higher priority, changing rooms particularly the floors can get pretty gross-people ignore the no outdoor shoes rule. and it would be good if toilets had any heating so there wasn’t always pools of water left on the floor.

Positive experience: If you are after some leisure, in Harborough, this is a place to visit.

Fantastic experience: Had a birthday party here and hired out the pool. The children had a great time and we were also allowed to use the cafe area for our food. Many thanks to the staff

Negative experience: DIRTY! Spinning room is appalling nobody wants to be breathing in dust, fly and bug excrement while exercising? 2 weeks ago I brought to their attention only to return today and find that nothing at all had changed! I was met my an argumentative lady claiming to be the owner of the gym, later turned out to be just a gym worker who made excuses about its condition and even went as far a scratching the dead flies off the big screen with the sleeve of her jumper, spitting on her finger and scratching away with her fingernail. I was appalled by the lack of respect, decorum and customer service. I would not be surprised if Health and safety were to visit anytime soon!

Negative experience: The gym is OK but the showers in the men's changing room are luke warm at best. Not really good enough for £34.99/month!

Positive experience: The swimming lessons have really improved in recent years. The changing rooms are terrible though. The floors are always filthy and there’s no drains along the cubicles for excess water. Plus, no underfloor heating so the floor is always wet and mucky. Corby always seems infinitely cleaner, probably because they have the drains and a warmer floor. If you’re looking for kids lessons try to book in with Julie or Nic. They’re fantastic teachers.

Fantastic experience: Depends on your expectations and what you’re looking for, but for a pool of this age (80/90’s with little investment) and for the price I think it’s great for young kids. All seem to be having a great time at family sessions. Anyway, reason for the review was to just mention Dillon who is one of the life guard staff. He was really supportive and helpful to my child who has special needs. Thanks Dillon!

Fantastic experience: Best pool I found locally during our brief visit from Australia. Staff were friendly, and they were happy to let me pay per visit rather than hassle me about membership. The regular swimmers in the 6:30am slot were all really friendly to a new face in the pool too

Negative experience: Friendly and helpful staff! … but the changing rooms were dirty and needed a deep clean. Black mould could be seen all over, hadn’t been cleaned properly for some time. Didn’t feel pleasant! Image to demonstrate, worse in places!

Negative experience: I have to use the swimming pool for both my kids swimming lessons the swimming teachers are amazing but the pool and changing areas are so dirty and disgusting that it makes me feel sick. I have had to change my daughter in the toilets just to find a cleaner area for her to stand. I have raised this twice to staff on different days, once I got told they don't have enough staff on to clean and once they just shrugged their shoulders. The floors are so dirty covered in mud dirt and clumps of hair there isn't anywhere you can walk in bare feet. Really disappointing because the people teaching at the pool are great it's the only reason I haven't cancelled the lessons yet.

Negative experience: Poor swimming facilities especially given the expensive price. Nothing is ever clean, men/female showers are never open, the communal showers are regularly cold and don't stay on for more than 1 second. The whole place needs a revamp, avoid. Harborough needs a good pool.

Negative experience: Changing rooms are old and gross. Swimming teacher looks like she can't be bothered. Website couldn't be designed in a less user friendly way. Nobody answers the phone.

Fantastic experience: We go to the swimming pool when I'm up to visit my mum and the kids LOVE it. Sincerely- it's such a great pool. I live in London and there are few pools like this. Lots of bad reviews about the changing rooms which I think could be cleaner but are fairly standard for the number of ppl coming through. Didn't Interact much with staff so can't comment on that side. Just love facilities!

Negative experience: Pool was fine. Pleasant temperature, not too busy and enough lane space. Changing rooms another story. Chewing gum stuck all over cubicles. Floors filthy. Clogs of hair in drains and not cleaned away. Smears on cubicle doors that look very unsanitary. Made me feel disgusting getting changed after swim. Needs a revamp and for staff to care about cleanliness.

Negative experience: I have tried a number of times at different times to get through to reception and even an attempt to transfer me to an Everyone Active manager resulted in getting cut off ! Emails do not work frustrated

Negative experience: A total joke from start to finish joining the gym. Watch your direct debit they take what they feel like! Especially if you sign up as concessionary, supply necessary proof but keep re requesting it

Negative experience: Cannot get through to anyone to ask about summer timetables and booking. Just rings off. Same issue in oadby branch. Obviously a universal issue with everyone active! Won't be attending if I can't find out the information I need.

Negative experience: One member of staff at the reception counter is very unfriendly and doesn't appear interested in actually signing up new members. One member of staff is actually friendly and helpful. Try and work out which is which when you visit!

Negative experience: It's quite sad to rate my local gym 3 star . I have been going to this gym past 4 years. Quite good when I started. Cleaned, tidy, very helpful and friendly staffs. Always one instructor was present whatever time u come to gym. These days no instructor at all, dirty floors whole gym, messy areas. New girls sitting on reception look miserable- don't have a clue what's going on. I'm very disappointed honestly n very sad to say this ☹️☹️☹️

Positive experience: Excellent swimming for little ones. The only annoyance is that it has a slide but only uses for a few mins at a time then turns off again. Found out today 26th June 2022 that you need to register and be a member before you are allowed to swim now.

Negative experience: Unfortunately due to the animosity and outright rudeness of 1 staff member, we won't renew our 3 memberships. We would like to support the local leisure centre but the philosophy and atmosphere is all very wrong. Its a shame as it takes the enjoyment and fun out of the experience. I would like to add that the dedicated reception staff, crèche and swimming teachers are excellent.

Fantastic experience: A brilliant range of facilities that I’ve loved using for the last year - never had a problem booking onto numerous sessions using the app, friendly staff and fab to have the pool included in the membership - great value!

Fantastic experience: Jake and his team are marvellous at Harborough leisure centre. The gym is very Covid secure with plenty of cleaning stations & the gym goers are polite & follow the guidance very well. I have only joined when lockdown eased. Joining was easy and had a good chat with Jake beforehand and he answered all my questions. Such a lovely bloke.

Positive experience: Not a review of the classes, but of the facilities - getting a bit tired to say the least! Has a feel of a school sports centre from the 1990s. Gym area with machines is relatively modern but quite small. One water point was also not easy access, not obviously signposted. Staff are friendly though and willing to help!

Negative experience: was absolutely awful, booked a court for an hour online and upon arrival were forced to wait 30 more minutes by the manager and after waiting 30 minutes were then told that we could not play by a rude and incompetent manager, do not go to this sports facility, the management is extremely poor and cannot deal with small issues at all. Terrible all round experience.

Negative experience: This place is in a very poor state, especially the swimming area. Broken tiles and damaged rails that we've seen kids cutting themselves on. Dirty changing rooms, even at opening. Uninformed staff, generally disorganised.

Negative experience: If you're thinking of hiring the hall/gym for a scooter party - don't! My son's 4th birthday party was a total shambles thanks to grotty and run-down facilities, bag management and poor staff attitudes. It was dangerously hot, bins over flowing with rubbish, no supervising staff. Shocking.
