Negative experience: Just saw the ticket prices for their firework display 2025, what a bloody rip off for 2 adults £33 plus.

Fantastic experience: As a swimmer, just moved to the area, I made the mistake of joining a local well known franchise gym (and more expensive) due to its location and within a week deeply regretted it. Now 3 months cost later which was the cost of the franchise gym… I joined Colets and I’ve swam more and had better swims here in my first few weeks than in the entire three months at that said gym. Yes there are always niggles like the fast lane is not always policed that well but you’ve got enough space and less people to make it work. Also I’m not suffering chlorine sneezing like I’ve got huge flu. Happy to be a member. 100% recommend. Really glad I found it.

Positive experience: Frustrated by lack of response to calls re reimbursement of membership fees being taken on a family members paused membership (issue raised 4 days ago) and re questions about lack of mirrors on the top floor of gym (issue raised in a call week's ago). Fantastic experience: Very nice facilities. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Emma who onbaorded us left a very good impression from day 1. Gym is very high quality. Colets is a club that puts the experience first and could truly be charging a lot more for what it has on offer. Great value.

Negative experience: Colets has completely lost its way under the new management. Our 6 year membership will sadly be the last.

Fantastic experience: I've visited Colets a few times, and it's exceeded expectations. The gym has recently been refurbished too and offers top-notch facilities, including a great pool and a wide range of classes. What really stands out is the warm, friendly atmosphere - it feels like a real community. It's clean and not crowded, and has lovely big grounds with plenty of parking. Plus, their café/bar is excellent - great coffee, food, and drinks. Definitely a local gem

Fantastic experience: I joined today after looking around a different Fitness centre in Surbiton. Emma Clarendon at Colets couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and made me feel at ease straight away, for this reason I decided to sign up. The club has a really friendly community vibe with excellent facilities and a really good range of classes, what a difference to the other club I was shown around earlier in Surbiton. Thank you Emma and the team at Colets, looking forward to restarting my fitness journey with yourselves!

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed visiting Colets and using the squash courts. The staff were all friendly too!

Positive experience: Went there for the pool facilities. Pros: - very welcoming staff - pool temperature is great - pool size is good - not crowded! Cons: All other pool facilities: - tiny private showers (in the men changing room at lest) - the hot tub is very basic with only some bottom jets. - no wet sauna - the dry sauna is very small For the membership price, if your main reason is the pool, it might not be worth it.

Incredible new equipment, super friendly staff that genuinely care about the members and a great place to eat! LOVE IT!

Fantastic experience: Great gym! Super friendly and helpful staff. The new equipment is awesome. And my favourite of all is the personal workout room, I use it with my PT. Never been to another gym with one, it means my sessions are always focused and uninterrupted

Negative experience: I’ve been a member of this gym on and off for three years. The gym does the job except for the hard sales by one elderly fitness trainer that keeps following me around and last Friday followed me to the car park looking at me and gesturing that I have belly fat. Body shaming is a form of mental abuse. The gym is supposed to be a place where you destress. Act you age have some basic manners and knock it off!

Positive experience: I attended a comedy night at the club which was great, I also had a quick look around the rest of the facilities which were impressive. The grounds are also really good and the balcony a nice place to relax after a workout with a cuppa.

Negative experience: If I can choose ZERO star obviously it was my choice. managers and staffs are very very very RACISTS. You can’t Imagine how they treated my husband and I. Their behavior is like medieval racists. Shame on you.

Positive experience: Good club, facilities are good but for the price (almost 100£ a month) it definitely could do with some upgrades. Changing rooms and showers are often not cleaned to a good standard, for the price I'd expect to have good quality shampoo and shower gel and not having to bring my own from home as the ones provided in the shower cubicles are low quality and often empty. Should offer memberships add ons options, i.e you're paying a lot for all classes and pool although some people will never use that. Unfortunately with the even further price increase this year I am having to discontinue my membership.

Negative experience: This is the second time I leave this review here and they delete my review. You wouldn't believe what my wife and I experienced at this club. We sadly had to face abhorrent racism, not only from the management but also from other patrons. If you value human rights and equality, I urge you to read this review. My wife and I reside in the Surrey area, and as a young couple working as TV producers for a London-based channel, we lead busy lives. We both hail from Iran. Three months ago, we purchased a membership to this club, primarily using the swimming pool as our sanctuary to unwind after long workdays. Today, like many other days in the past month, we visited the club for a swim. We initially enjoyed some time in the jacuzzi before heading to the pool. However, before we could even step into the water, an instructor approached us. With a stern expression, he told us that my wife and I were not permitted to use the swimming pool. Confused and taken aback, I asked her why. She vaguely mentioned that their customers weren't comfortable with us using the swimming facility. In disbelief, I inquired about her statement's meaning, to which she simply responded that her manager had instructed her to ask us to leave. Insistent on understanding this sudden turn of events, I asked her to summon her manager so I could speak to him directly. The manager came and reiterated the same message: we needed to leave because our presence was apparently causing discomfort to other customers. I was stunned and appalled. I asked him what led him to make such a statement. We hadn't done anything wrong; we were there simply to enjoy a swim, like any other paying member would do. Driven by frustration and the glaring injustice, I dialed the police to report the incident. Amidst this, two managers approached us, insisting that we leave the premises. They audaciously stated that we couldn't be at the pool if their other customers didn't want us there. At this point, some of the club's patrons confronted us, making derogatory remarks about us tarnishing the club's 'high-class' image. They even went as far as telling us to go back to our country, questioning who allowed us entry in the first place. The overt racism was shocking and utterly disheartening. A woman rudely asserted, "This is my country." I was left utterly dumbfounded by the sheer audacity of her words. Gathering myself, I retorted, "We are legally residing here and contribute to society through our work." The unabashed prejudice we were subjected to was utterly shocking. Ultimately, we were expelled from the club. Can you fathom such a prejudiced incident occurring in a cosmopolitan city like London? As a tranquil couple in our mid-thirties who abstain from alcohol, we always aim to be friendly, kind, and model citizens. But today, our spirits have been crushed. This distressing incident at the club has severely impacted our feelings and overall wellbeing. The severity of this distressing incident has pushed us to the brink. My wife hasn't stopped crying, and I feel an overwhelming sense of despair. If human rights and dignity mean anything to you, I urge you to contemplate the implications of our ordeal.

Fantastic experience: Always a nice range of classes (evenings and weekends quite busy) and all the instructurs are well prepared and friendly. Today I had an outdoor class with Jeff and was brilliant! Nice energetic luch time break!

Negative experience: £99 a month is heavy for a gym with one squat rack, no deadlifting platform, and one single bench. Largest kettlebell is 20kg which is also nothing. Got a nice pool but that’s about it for the spend.

Negative experience: On main website they are saying their not a gym for money gain -iterary, ist there, on main site. Jet they only have memvership and realy expensive over 100 per month. And if you agree on membership you have to pay for a year. Preatty dam look for me exactly like other gyms are doing - only for gain. And without agreeing on expensive membership you cant use it not even as paying per hour.

Fantastic experience: I attended for a private swimming lesson with Steven Shaw, and I can honestly say this is the best Health Club. I have used various health clubs over the years, to assist my swimming, and Colets is the most friendly, caring, clean and stress free environment I have experienced. The pool is excellent as are the other facilities eg steam room and changing room and showers. I cannot recommend this club highly enough. Nathan has been very kind in explaining everything to me, and I am looking forward to working on my swimming abilities, after a long break from swimming. Nathan recommended the jacket potato from the bar. Truly, it was the best I have had, so well presented and delicious. Thank you to Colets for making my visit so enjoyable. I look forward to future visits.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with excellent facilities. Always clean and a welcoming and relaxed environment. Changing rooms are lovely and so much room, always guaranteed locker space. Staff are friendly and helpful with any queries, and fitness instructors/teachers are positive and encouraging! Great choice of fitness classes that cater to all. I have enjoyed being a member for the past 3 years and would struggle to find another gym in the area that has so much to offer.

Fantastic experience: Lovely warm welcome back to club after being an Ex staff member. Joe was on hand to sign myself and my girlfriend up for a years membership. Joe made the process really easy and answered any questions we had. Signed up and in the pool all within about 20 minutes which was perfect. The club was looking fantastic with the new bar. Very excited to get down and use the sauna… I mean gym.

Fantastic experience: I'm proud to say I've now been a member of Colets for 37 years - and over that time, I've seen a great many changes to the grounds and facilities. But the one thing that has remained constant is the sense of friendship and caring that has permeates every part of the club. Colets staff are always keen to ensure you get the best experience each and every time you visit. I hope I'm still a member in another 37 years !!!

Fantastic experience: really unique club, If you are looking for a place where you can relax and not feel self-conscious whirl working out this is the place to go, very family orientated. It is an old club with a lot of tradition however you can see that are currently working on each area to modernize it. Lots of diverse classes to go to as well.

Fantastic experience: Having been a member of Colets for many years, I can honestly say this is a wonderful place to visit. The staff are friendly and always available to help - I’m always able to go up to them and ask for assistance. I really love the pool in particular but i need to make the most of the other facilities as well going forwards!

Fantastic experience: I joined Colets in April 2023 and I can honestly say its the most welcoming and friendly gym / health club I have ever used. The variety of classes is great and the pool is lovely. I am particularly enjoying the option to exercise outside with the functional fitness sessions. My kids love the junior gym sessions too. Parking is free and easy - highly recommend!

Negative experience: I really don’t understand the good reviews, I can only assume the club has gone downhill. It is not good value for money when compared to other clubs, it’s quite run down. The staff have also never been particularly friendly, I was even told by a miserable man behind reception that my son had to be out of the pool by 6pm which confused me as that would only allow us 30 minutes after last entry and I was not told this upon joining. It’s already very difficult to get to the club for 5.30 as a working parent. The pool has also been really cold lately. I’m leaving this review as I was already considering other options given the fairly poor value for money (that’s without the extortionate towel hire membership) and now the prices are being increased. The only positive thing I really have to say is that it’s a very convenient location and the changing rooms aren’t bad. I wouldn’t be surprised if the increase in price pushes people to look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Colets for many years now It is not only very convenient as I live locally but a great place with all the facilities you could want It is very professionally run with good gym instructors The reception staff are always very friendly and make you welcome every time you attend I have been unwell for the last two years, what with one thing and another so could not attend Now with this Covid issue, I again cannot attend Gloria the membership secretary has been excellent in deferring my membership over the last two years, which has been a great help financially She has also been very understanding and supportive during this period I am very impressed with both the attitude and professionalism of all the staff in this organisation I would highly recommend Colets to anybody who wants to exercise whether it be swimming, gym, pilates, squash or any other form of exercise There is something for everybody including children's pool activities Although these can sometimes be a pain especially when you are lane swimming

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic club. I have been a member for over 20 years and in that time the club has grown and invested continually. So today we get all the classes and gym machines etc that any new club would have, but also the extra benefit of belonging to a club which is well established in the community. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the club is always responsive to comments and suggestions. I always see someone I know when I visit, someone I have met at the gym or classes or someone I know from the local community. You feel so welcome - like you really belong. I feel fitter now than I did when I joined despite being so much older, that is because going to the club to exercise is always a pleasure and never a chore. Thanks to all the team for their hard work.

Negative experience: Disappointing. I tried it because of the location, there not being too many options around the area without going into Kingston. As a swimming pool/squash club for families it may be alright, but as a gym I feel it's overpriced for the facilities. The weights area is small and basic, and the cardio area on the upper floor primarily holds cross trainers facing windows into the cafeteria. So you can trundle away on those while watching people eat their lunch. The bikes section in the middle felt stuffy because the ceiling's quite low there and you're away from the windows in what feels like a converted loft space. It felt pretty dated. You need to exchange your membership card for a locker key at reception and the receptionists I met seemed uninterested - I felt like an inconvenience. The gym staff were similar and so the general feel I got was uninspiring. When you're paying over £80 a month for something like that then for me it has to feel like somewhere to enjoy going, have a bit of a lifting atmosphere, but it didn't. Towels were an additional cost on top and four months was the minimum membership. Showers, apart from two or three, are the open communal type. I imagined the equipment wouldn't be the same standard as Virgin or David Lloyd, etc. But I'd expected it would make up for that on value and friendlier atmosphere. So, because it didn't have any of that, that's why it was a disappointment to me. If you're a family in the area and swimming or squash is what you're after then I'd say give it a look. Otherwise, I can't recommend it.
