Saxon Pool & Leisure Centre: Opinions
Positive experience: Pool is clean so are the facilities staff always seen checking the pool and cleaning and moping water from around changing facilities which are also clean and usable not to mention the accessible changing facilities for all to use i took my review back to a 4 star as they did not put out the lane signs until 12:10 so I found myself in the fast lane when I booked to be in the slow lane
Thank you, Sean, for your review. We're delighted to hear that you found our pool and facilities clean and well-maintained. We appreciate your feedback regarding the lane signs and will ensure to keep this in mind. We hope to see you again soon at Saxon Pool & Leisure Centre.
Fantastic experience: Recently joined Saxon Pool on a swim membership. Pool and changing areas are clean and the staff are friendly (special shout out to super polite Sophie). A few more late quiet swims on the timetable would be welcomed, but in all honestly we are impressed and highly recommend.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that you're enjoying your swim membership and that you find our pool and changing areas clean. It's great to know that our staff, especially Sophie, have made a positive impression. We appreciate your suggestion about more late quiet swims and are thrilled to hear that you highly recommend us. Thank you for being a part of our community at Saxon Pool & Leisure Centre.
Negative experience: Horrible smell of urine the whole time I was swimming, which was very disturbing so it cut my swim short .. water was also colder than usual.
Thank you for your feedback, Zoe. I'm sorry to hear about your experience during your visit. We want all our guests to have a pleasant time, and I encourage you to reach out to us at www.everyoneactive.com/enquiries so we can discuss your concerns further. Your input is important to us. Positive experience: I've been a member of this gym for the last 5+ years and previously thought it was okay, not the best gym I've been a member of but recently, it has had a bit of a refurb and I now really like the new layout and it feels like there's more equipment to try out for different types of exercises. The gym still gets very busy during peak times so I try and avoid these times when possible! Since the gym has had a bit of a 'facelift' I definitely have started to enjoy my workouts again. The only feedback that I would give to the team is that the gym sometimes feels quite warm, especially in the summer months and it's so much more pleasant to work up a sweat when the A/C is colder but recently this has definitely improved on previous summers!
Hi Vini,
Thank you for being a loyal member for over five years and for sharing your thoughts with us. We're delighted to hear that you are enjoying the new layout and equipment after the refurbishments. It's great to know that your workouts have become more enjoyable. We appreciate your feedback regarding the temperature, and we're glad to hear there has been some improvement. Your insights are valuable to us, and we hope you continue to have a positive experience at our gym.
Thank you once again for your review.
Positive experience: Renewed my annual membership with the assistance of a very helpful staff member. Pool clean , toilets fresh smelling. Enjoyed my swimming session very much :-)
Thank you, Jo, for your kind review. We're delighted to hear that you had a positive experience renewing your membership and that you enjoyed your swimming session. It's great to know our facilities met your expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back to Saxon Pool & Leisure Centre soon.
Fantastic experience: I recently joined Saxon gym and swimming pool and I can’t rate it highly enough. I recently had my second child and being able to access crèche facilities at such a reasonable price has given me the chance to gain back a bit of time for myself. After a rough broken night with a newborn, knowing I’ll have an hour in a gym class to myself has really improved my mental health. The crèche staff are incredibly experienced and welcoming even offering to help support me with trying to give my breastfed baby a bottle. I have thoroughly enjoyed trying out reformer Pilates, all of the instructors have been great and it has been a lovely reintroduction to exercising postpartum. All of the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming, I would definitely recommend this gym.
Negative experience: This is my experience of the centre. Following a torn hamstring in 2 places and a dislocated pelvis I was put onto a brutal physio regime to get better but with obvious limited exercise options and movements I could make. First signed up to the gym in 2023 whereby they booked an induction. I turned up to the induction an anxious mess only to be told that there was no record of the booking by the guy in the gym. I showed him the email with the clear date and time and was basically told “you’ll need to re-book i’m busy” (sat at the staff station). Re-booked at reception and the same happened again. At this point I was now 4 weeks into my membership that had cost me over £100 due to all of their fee’s and other complicated charges without actually using the gym! Finally get the induction and start using the gym. Limited to use of the leg press, leg curl and hip inductor machines for my physio therapy plan and this was all I wanted and needed to focus on. 3 weeks into my plan and the leg press machine is broken and remains broken followed by BOTH leg curl machines. I ask the gym guy at the time when they will be repaired as it’s the only machines i need to use and he literally laughed and said “who knows! Could be a week could he a month” a further 3 weeks go by and still broken so I cancel the membership. 3 months later, the manager calls me to ask why i cancelled my membership and what could they do to entice me back! I explain all the above and don’t get so much as an apology but since I still cant drive due to the injury i’m limited on gym options so re-join. Once again I have to cough up for joining fees, pro rata fees and 1st month fee before setting foot in the gym! The use of 3 weeks of actual gym time has now cost me Over £300 at this stage. First months payment comes out, use the gym for a further month and then I log onto my online account to enquire about PT sessions only to find my account is not active. Confused, I call them up and they state I cancelled my direct debit (i most certainly did not) but what I did do was change my account over email which had not been actioned despite me having confirmation that it was done! And to re-activate? Yeah you guessed it… joining fee + pro rata + 1 month fee. Unbelievable. Then everyone active takes over. After letting them settle in i decided to give them a go following an “ex member” marketing reach out to give them a chance. I stupidly did….everything went smoothly for first 4 weeks again and then once again they stated i cancelled my direct debit ( i did not) and i even sent them a screen shot of my online bank showing the direct debit as active and there were funds available so it wasn’t down to that either! No apology, and of course they wanted all the usual fees to restart my membership that I had once more not cancelled. In summary, whichever company takes up the managing of this centre don't care one inch about the service or their failings, and will bleed you dry as much as possible even when they’ve done wrong! It really is quite unbelievable.
Negative experience: Can’t use anything, kicked off of machines often, and constantly threatened to be kicked out
Negative experience: Terrible gym, can't use anything more than 5 kg for £20 a month
Fantastic experience: Just a great place to go fantastic gym an great staff always helpful
Negative experience: Probably the worst gym I've been too, whilst it has good equipment its so packed that there aren't enough for how busy it is. Reception staff are welcoming and helpful, can never find a gym instructor in the gym unless they are doing their own training. No actual workout plan to work with coaching session was very much well you have some knowledge why don't you work with that. They charge luxury prices for bare basic standards. Showers are fulling apart and the water doesn't stay on long enough to actually wash without getting cold. They don't advertise their crazy joining fee until you're ready to sign up. The GP appointment is only a telephone call. You have to use the app to track your work outs yet there is no signal in the gym area its self so its really hard to track what you are doing. And then there's the disgustingly rude emails you receive
Negative experience: Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I booked swimming for my mum and I on the website. The payment went through and I was emailed a booking confirmation and a payment receipt. When we got to the pool the system said that I hadn't paid. I showed the receptionist the receipt but this was not accepted and she continued to be rude, unhelpful and accusational. In what world is a payment receipt not proof of payment? Rather than appogise and seek to find out what had gone wrong, I was belittled in front of other customers and told I should have booked on the app and that I couldn't prove I had paid because I dont have a banking app on my phone. I had to firmly, but not unreasonably ask to speak to the manager because she appeared to have no intention of getting someone to resolve the issue. Following this, the horrible receptionist acussed me of being rude to her! My mum and I just stood there in disbelief. What was I supposed to say, she was trying to get me to pay twice? This is no way to treat regular customers. To be fair to him, the duty manager did deal with the situation and could see that I had paid (it turns out that there is a problem with their booking system and if you pay using the website, the details can take a day to come through) However, at no point was an apology offered. The whole situation was upsetting and ruined our swim.
Fantastic experience: Was there for the skatepark. Was great. Nice area. Coop right next to it.
Negative experience: Poor service from the managers who are either deliberately difficult or not qualified to do their job. The pool is cold and dirty, the changing rooms, cubicles and showers are also dirty. The time of our lessons was changed at short notice. The price also increased with no evidence of improvement seen for the extra cost. We have received a much better service after going to a private pool with helpful staff and a lower price. Really disappointed in the service provided even from the complaints department. Now recommending all family and friends to avoid this gym and swimming pool when looking at their options as the service is much better and actually cheaper elsewhere.
Negative experience: Not clean. Showers and changing cubicles smell often of wee. There are many leaks in the changing rooms. Pool is very cold. Lessons cramp as many students in as possible and put the rates up several times a year. Would not recommend.
Positive experience: Saxon is really a wonderful place to kickstart ones journey to fitness, although the people there(not staff) aren’t that open and welcoming,it’s still the best center for you with wonderful amenities….Honestly I love to workout at Saxon!
Positive experience: With my membership I'm entitled to 1 personal training session every 3 months however 2 times my session has been cancelled with no prior notice. However went into the gym today and the personal trainer Dani helped me with a couple of machines she was amazing! Can highly recommend her she showed me 5 different machines to help me focus on the parts I want to focus on as I've used other machines. Dani was very informative and showed me how to work the machines and put the weight levels different on each to test how much I can work with. If you want to get a personal trainer from this gym I'd ask for Dani despite my learning difficulties she was amazing and helped a lot
Fantastic experience: I’m taking swimming lessons at the age of 69 and I’m really enjoying every lesson. My instructor Kerry is amazing and even though I was terrified of the water, I’m now swimming 10 metres un aided by float's.
Fantastic experience: My son is really enjoying the swimming tuition provided here
Positive experience: Good leisure centre great PTs. There are things that need updating Swimming pool is decent, the kids go to swim lessons and the teachers seem great
Positive experience: Decent pool. Spectator area far too hot. Swimmers saying the pool too hot too. Must have money to burn!
Negative experience: Swimming pool is normally dirty alongside the changing rooms. Sometimes the swimming pool smells like urine. Staff are good, but the swimming pool is generally very cold and sometimes dirty inside. I can’t recommend this place; it’s gone downhill, and they do not maintain the building or the swimming pool.
Fantastic experience: Excellent staff well trained
Negative experience: Ever since this gym was taken over by Everyone Active it has gone downhill. There are no staff around to keep an eye on everyone - surely a duty of care is of high importance. No one around in the office to ask. Some of the equipment is out of order for ages or not maintained. No wipes in the gym now for at least 4 days to my knowledge but could be longer. I asked the manager about it and she said she'd just come back from holiday and was sorting it. But surely that's just a matter of stocktaking being done not anything to do with being on holiday! They need to pull their socks up as losing customers all the time. Of course the subscriptions continue to go up. Very disappointed
Fantastic experience: Nice gym and swimming pool!
Positive experience: Fun place for children's Birthday parties.
Fantastic experience: Clean pool and changing room. Staff are friendly.
Negative experience: My son is a junior member of the gym and his (already limited) sessions are frequently cancelled due to staffing issues. I’ve emailed management numerous times, who are apologetic, but despite their promise of ensuring these sessions are covered.. the cancellations continue. Turning up to be told it’s cancelled is very frustrating! So we now ring the gym before setting off to check the sessions are actually running, to avoid anymore wasted journeys. Shame, as staff are nice and the gym equipment meets his needs. But, I’d not recommend.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic morning swim, staff really friendly and great facilities
Fantastic experience: Clean pool and changing room. Staff are friendly.
Negative experience: I've been swimming here three times with my 2 year old son. On each occasion we haven't got the experience we thought we were getting. I've been really careful to pick a swim which would work us. The latest one was I picked a public swim where "everyone is welcome" and it's in the main pool (previously the toddler pool has meant chattering teeth for him despite full body swim suit). When I get there literally three quarters of the swimming pool were barriers off for aqua aerobics session, leaving one swimming lane for "everyone". Us paddling about annoyed everyone so definitely didn't feel welcome. Moved to toddler pool, teeth chattering again, could barely move because a third was of it was barriers off for a swimming lesson. Every time it's been something like this. Despite recent upgrade to booking system it's still almost impossible to tell what is happening in the pool at any given time. It's a shame but got to go elsewhere now
Positive experience: Nice gym , use regularly. I wish there were bigger weights sections and aircon. No aircon on meaning yes you get a good sweat but not to the point where you nearly pass out. Please switch the aircon on :(
Positive experience: Well organised and clean
Negative experience: Everyone active have slowly cut the public swimming sessions to basically one hour on a Saturday and nothing until Sunday evening without notice and without a reduction in membership price. Diabolical. It was better off under SLL management!
Negative experience: The staff here are ok, friendly and helpful. HOWEVER - there's signage saying 'No outdoor shoes' by the pool entrance (to go with all the other ones), but nobody does ANYTHING to enforce this! There's mud (and other stuff) around what should be a clean area - and this just adds to the overall tired / uncared for appearance of the pool area. It's when you see people with filthy buggies and muddy site boots by the side of the pool you realise the customers AND the staff couldn't care less about other people that it hits home. Really not nice - and the prices keep going up.
Positive experience: Seems good. Had a good kids pool party here.
Positive experience: We visited Saxon pool on late April 2024. Saxon pool is pretty good and pretty clean. The swimming pool use to by so cold but now it’s really warm but the changing rooms are ok. The room where the pool is used to be dark but now it’s had a little refurb. The sports hall is very well maintained. The gym is huge and usually busy. The cafe is usually quiet. This place is also my local leisure centre and now I come here every Monday
Positive experience: Good gym at a very reasonable price but the changing rooms, showers and pool are not the cleanest
Negative experience: Shower cubicals flooded & smells funny
Negative experience: You pay for both gym and swim as there’s no option for a gym only price which should therefore be about £28 per month as the current charge of £40 is too much for a gym that has only basic equipment. Biggleswade really does need another large gym as a bit of competition would bring cheaper prices as well as investment in better kit.
Negative experience: Terrible place. Gym is pretty small and not well kept, water fountain was broken for months. My husband tried to cancel his membership as he signed up to the wrong centre and then got switched to this one instead of being cancelled, and got charged 3 times anyway. Customer service is terrible as we were trying to get him refunded. I spoke to Tracy and she was so unsympathetic and told me “it’s going to be a while” which obviously isn’t acceptable. He was owed nearly £140! This place really isn’t worth the money. I ended up speaking to the Westminster lodge branch who sorted the issues within a day! Don’t bother here.
Negative experience: Went for a swim session today with the kids and there were a few serious problems. 1. I saw attendant staff rinsing muddy shoes at the edge of the pool. This is a major health and safety issue for obvious reasons, but to be clear, this could include animal excrement. In spite of all the signs around the pool area asking people to remove shoes, this is especially serious as staff themselves are setting an example for others. 2. I saw the same individual and another was sitting in the attendant chairs and using the pool cleaning brushes to clean their shoes, making the paths around the pool gritty when those brushes were used for the pool and, again, causing a major health and safety issue. I had a word with them and they denied what they had just done, saying that the 'black sand' had been there for some time (which in itself is another issue). 3. Baby change rooms couldn't be used because swimmers had left all their gear and dirty nappies in the baby change rooms. I would appreciate a response with acknowledgment of the problems, including what steps the pool management intend to take to prevent this from happening in future.
Fantastic experience: I would like to say a massive thankyou to Sonia who works in the creche at the Biggleswade centre. Sonia has been fantastic with welcoming my niece into the creche as it was her first visit and she was a little nervous but once she saw Sonia she felt very happy and went straight in. Sonia spent time with her painting, drawing and doing puzzles, We came away extremely happy and that was down to Sonia for making her feel very comfortable, I highly recommend this wonderful lady. So a massive thankyou Sonia from the both of us.
Negative experience: I’ve been a member at this gym for years, I’m someone who trains really often do a good gym is really important to me. Here are my thoughts - value for money is not good, £40 a month is really expensive for the facilities on offer (this is my opinion at the moment). There should also be an option to opt out of swim as I would never use this facility - there is a massive cleanliness issue, mirrors are smeared and covered in sweat, base of all equipment dusty and unkempt. My brother has complained about the state of the men’s shower and locker room facilities and another member mentioned this to me also. I haven’t had an issue with cleanliness of the women’s facilities - if something breaks in this gym it is almost certainly out of commission for weeks! This includes high traffic equipment. The only ezy bar in the gym broke and wasn’t replaced for weeks. There are 3 barbells in the gym between one squat rack/bench/ partial squat rack. One of these barbells broke weeks ago and a replacement hasn’t been brought in yet which is concerning for such high traffic equipment. The water machine broke for weeks and water facilities weren’t provided for a while, water bottles had to be filled up in the studio at the front or via the kitchen which was highly inconvenient. They brought in a fountain but quickly ran out of water for it, it took a few weeks for the water machine to be replaced indefinitely. Cables break often and take weeks to be repaired, other high traffic equipment breaks often too and takes a while to be brought back into commission. - you can get a decent training session in, there’s a good range of equipment and dumbbells up to 48kg I believe. Decent amount of benches. The gym really needs to invest in some new handles/grips/ ropes for cables though and take suggestions from members on what they’d like to see in the gym, there’s plenty of room to add more equipment Overall this gym has a good potential just needs much better management. A better cleaning schedule, a contract with a repair company so repairs can be made in a more timely manner and a team should be checking equipment on a regular basis so that things can be replaced before they break. I’d encourage the gym to seek the opinion of more members who attend regularly as I’m not the only one who has been frustrated with some things lately. If things improve I’ll be updating my rating :) thanks
Positive experience: There to watch my grandson in a swimming competition.
Negative experience: Poor customer service always send you to due online
Positive experience: Lovely swimming pool & staff are very friendly.
Positive experience: Peter and Jackie are especially friendly and go beyond the call of duty.
Fantastic experience: Cheerful helpful staff. Good sized lockers and good changing cubicles.
Fantastic experience: Lovely pool kids loved family swim session
Fantastic experience: Great facilities - pools, changing rooms, crèche and cafe!
Positive experience: I love here the only thing is the system i cant keep track of my swimming progress
Positive experience: Pleasant leisure centre but limited parking on swim gala days... gallery seating most uncomfortable
Positive experience: Great place with friendly staff and good swimming teachers and a nice warm poop with a baby area
Positive experience: It's OK, nothing special. The Internet is awful considering gym equipment runs off wiffi it seriously needs upgrading
Positive experience: Great local facility…some of the front of house staff can be a bit grumpy sometimes.
Negative experience: Pool is always being closed due to undisclosed incidents. Not impressed. Finally thrown in the towel after missing five classes due to the centre cancelling last minute. No reduction or refund offered on my months membership.
Negative experience: If you like cancelled swimming lessons and not having the same teacher two weeks in a row, this is for you and your kids. At least they give you ten minutes notice!
Positive experience: Unfortunately, on my last two visits, some of the more able swimmers show no manners to the moderate adult swimmers. They knock, scratch and bump into you and do not follow the lane disciplines, with no apologies!
Fantastic experience: Good swim, pool empty. Staff pool side nice and friendly, young lady on reception coping very well, and wished me Happy Christmas. Well done
Fantastic experience: I have to commend the customer service at Saxon gym because the staff truly deserve to be recognised for their professionalism and warmth. Tracy's very helpful and friendly consultation is the reason I took up a membership, she is brilliant! Serrah on the desk offers premier league type customer service and cannot do enough to help. Adam is super! He gave me a programme that hurts like hell, but it is working! He actually listens and works with you so you stay motivated to continue.
Negative experience: Unfortunately they work like the government. I am talking about the reception staff, not the gym staff. Too many people at the gym, all day, everyday, so you end up waiting most of the time for the equipment to be freed. For what they provide, it should be a lot cheaper than they charge.
Negative experience: Took my little one to Saxson gym this morning for baby bouncer to find out it was booked up nothing saying this on there Facebook and so I walked all the way up with my newborn aswell for nothing spoke to manger saying I had a learning disability he didn’t seem to know what that meant or was and the reception people didn’t either and have tryed ringing to book my daughter on a Sunday and staff say they don’t know how to manger just said sorry my daughter was crying all the way home did say I don’t have a car so I can’t take her anywhere else I have always been paying my phone number was on there system wish someone had rang my phone and said this had a horrible morning thanks to the staff
Positive experience: No hot water for at least four weeks in the showers , two drinking water taps out of order. No food in the cafe for months. Seems like the new owners want to run the place into the ground
Positive experience: The change of ownership to Saxon pool has certainly seen a decline in the standards regarding swimming lesson. The ratio of adults to children has become disproportionate. There are far too many children in each class. However, staff remain helpful, kind and professional. The park, adjacent to the pool, is excellent.
Negative experience: Absolutely appalling. I have finally given up and cancelled my membership. Pool is hardly ever open. Cannot take the kids after school for swimming as always ‘aqua ed’ on. Can’t take children swimming in the evening either as adults only. Tried Saturday and Sunday 4 consecutive weeks but was told have to book via the phone, but strangely enough they never answer the phone when you try and ring? They need to completely scrap the current staff who are rude and hate their work life. Hire new people with a friendly outlook with the want to help. It really is a very poorly run centre. It has the potential to be good but needs a lot of restructuring
Negative experience: Gym is an embarrassment! A gym with no water fountains working and empty water machines. Had to ask to get them filled. Staff walk around doing sod all. Can't wait for pure gym to open at retail park
Positive experience: We went for a fun swimming session as 2 adults and 2 one year old. We had fun, but pnly had access to a small section of the teaching pool. No access to floats or swimming noodles etc. After our session we wanted to stay in the cafe for some lunch and a coffee, only to be told there was no hot food being served. We asked why, and the lovely lady working in the cafe said since they have been taken over by everyone active, they haven't been able to serve hot food as the new company haven't given their training. Also haven't been anywhere near to offer training. She wasn't sure when food was going to be served. We will be looking at alternative pools where we have access to more facilities.
Fantastic experience: Not a member and went for an advocate swim session to relieve some achey muscles after a tough gym session elsewhere. Place was clean and plenty of availability for facilities. Definitely reccomend the adults only sessions so you can actually get on with swimming at your own pace.
Negative experience: I'm a member and have no issues with my gym membership, but, recently booked my 3 year old and a friend for a birthday party, when I booked I was told that I would be allocated the hours from 215-415, I paid the money, never received a confirmation email but thought that this would be fine as the receptionist confirmed with me once again on the phone the week before that we were all booked in. We were running late and were told we could have an extra 15 minutes on our party as the traffic was horrifc, this we thought was a lovely gesture. Party was in full swing and I asked when was good to do the birthday cakes for our kids, to be told that they had messed up the times and that we had to be out by 4, I asked to speak to the manager as it wasn't the party hosts fault that this was happening, the duty manager that we spoke to was incredibly rude, offered no solutions to our concern, offered no partial refund, I even asked if the kids could have an extra 15 minutes in the bouncy castle or soft play, which was shut down, he even said at one point that we should "stop arguing and do the cakes as the time is being wasted" and that he would stop the party right there and then if we kept arguing, we were obviously upset and were trying to put our point across and nothing was being resolved. After the party we spoke to a lovely receptionist who gave us a voucher for swimming, and apologised and said that she would try and sort the miscommunication on times. We said that if we had known the party was only 1hr 30m we probably would have gone somewhere else as the kids just didn't have enough time to play in our opinion.
Negative experience: Been constantly messed around with my sons lessons from the start and manager not helpful also majority of the staff are very rude. it such a shame how much saxon pool has gone down hill as been going there for 18+ years. Highly recommended you get else for swim lessons and avoid Saxon pool.
Fantastic experience: great swimming pool great staff best manager i’ve ever seen
Positive experience: Swimming lessons are now becoming a joke , been taking my children for over 8 years now and at first it was brilliant. Now the feedback is non existent, the updates on the app are none existent, seems to me that the higher up you go , the worst the teaching gets . Unless you ask or put a complaint in to the lovely reception team , you won’t get and update on your child’s progress. The changing rooms are now just hogged from selfishness with parents who can’t be bothered to use the lockers and leave all their belongings in there meaning you have no where for the children to change and there’s not enough seating in the waiting/watching room .
Fantastic experience: Good clean pool.
Negative experience: I have recently enjoyed starting swimming here, but sorry, it is a bit grubby.
Positive experience: It is very good gym and all kind of sports
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place very friendly staff would love to join a ladies group x
Positive experience: Generally good but needs to fix some of the handrails around the pool!
Positive experience: Pool was lovely 86 degrees wasn't too packed (over monday lunchtime) enjoyed it only 3rd time in 7 years
Negative experience: This is a terrible organisation I have never in my life seen such bad mannered staff who were even horrible towards my children and then had the audacity to say I could not look after my own children in the pool because there was 2 adults and 4 children even know we have been here lots of times before I would strongly advise any one not to use this place absolutely disgusting
Negative experience: Just dont sign up to be a member - its a decent facility - but if you then try and leave you are hit with all types of fees! Typical of all gyms i guess.
Negative experience: It's a decent facility (pool closed more than it's open lately) but when you try and leave they make it's very difficult with hidden fees and notice periods. They then become quite rude and unhelpful with plenty of debt collector threats. Think twice before taking a membership!
Negative experience: I've called this centre many times and have found they don't answer the phone/voicemails which was my first downfall, the front of house staff were not friendly, changing area smelt of urine and was very dirty, the toilets smelt of pungent sanitary waste. The showers were either scolding hot or freezing and stayed on for 10 seconds - will not be returning - surprised by the levels of care as all other SLL centres we have visited have been to a very high standard.
Fantastic experience: My children have swimming lessons here with aqua Ed and are doing so well. They get free swim sessions on their membership including fun swim which they absolutely loved.
Fantastic experience: Reasonably priced swim and a nice clean place
Fantastic experience: The float fun session was thoroughly enjoyed by 3 granddaughters 8, 7 & 5. There were plenty of lifeguards & pool & changing rooms clean. Pleased we pre booked ad session was full when we arrivef
Fantastic experience: I joined Saxon pool as a gym and swimming pool member. I was nervous about using a gym for the first time but was very happy how welcoming the reception staff where. I was shown around the centre by Lydia before joining who was very helpful and friendly she made me feel less anxious. Great clean gym and swimming pool, exceptionally friendly staff would really recommend it here.
Fantastic experience: They keep the pool in very good condition with excellent maintenance. From what I've seen and heard the gym equipment looks very new with very polite staff. would recommend this to someone with 0-5 years of lifting experience. wish this place the best of business and good customers.
Fantastic experience: The pool is clean and nice. The baby pool is perfect size and depth for me to manage a 2 and 4 year old alone. The main reason this gets 5* from me is because of the great staff and customer service. They are friendly helpful and warm. In particular manger Jon who resolved a recent issue very well, going above and beyond. The gym and other facilities are great and you can feel the nice buzzing energy as you walk around which makes a big difference to other places
Fantastic experience: Great community pool, great wee cafe too
Fantastic experience: Loved the gym after a 10 year absence so glad to be back. The trainer who inducted me was very pleasant and showed me the ropes and let me get on with it, good value for money with pleasant staff and a good range of,equipment. J
Fantastic experience: Lewis is a great swimming instructor. The reception staff have always been very helpful. Car park is free and always has spaces. Located next to a fab play and skate park.
Fantastic experience: My family have been swimming here for years. Great swimming lessons, friendly and skilled teachers. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Enjoy the swim not a fan of the aqua blast at 930 as two lanes of the pool gets shut for only half of it to be used, makes the other lanes very undesirable.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place very friendly staff would love to join a ladies group x
Fantastic experience: The staff are incredibly polite and helpful and the pool is kept nice and clean. No complaints here!
Fantastic experience: Today we went to the fun floats session. They had the slide out and loads of floats in the water. Friendly and watchful lifeguards. We had some issues getting there on time and the very Friendly staff let us stay in the next session as there was space. It was very good value as the kids do their swimming lessons there so they go free. Changing rooms were clean. Recommend booking one of these holiday sessions.
Fantastic experience: Friendly helpful staff. Great gym great swimming pool. Very clean and covid safe. Lovely cafe area.
Fantastic experience: Great facility with big pools and excellent shower and changing facilities. Staff were excellent
Positive experience: Went in for a coffee whilst the eldest was using the skatepark out the back. A well made flat white by the staff serving that day and decent enough WiFi to get through some emails
