Negative experience: Called to make a query about the facilities of the hotel today, 13:00 at 24/05/2021. The lady who picked up the phone at reception was incredibly rude. I’ve stayed at the hotel before and it was great but this customer service was horrific. She didn’t answer our query about the gym and also asked “why are you asking me this. Call the gym” word for word, in a passive aggressive tone. Won’t be staying here again

Positive experience: This hotel is contracted to Croydon council and is for people who are in a crisis situation who find themselves homeless.

Positive experience: Very pleasant staff and nice room. Only thing that bothered me was people arriving in the middle of the night being rowdy and banging doors shut.

Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're looking for somewhere localthere is no parking and it cost £16 to stay at the NCP overnight The bathroom was absolutely freezing and the shower barely worked The rooms are heated with a small radiator blow heater stuck on the wall

Negative experience: No breakfast ,had to go across the rd for breakfast at a cost £11 ,no parking had to park in carpark £16, and it was not work £50 a room and in total £77 could of got somewhere else better rate I feel

Fantastic experience: Great location! Just 15mins away from Central London. Easily accessible and reasonable prices. I had a really pleasant time and the rooms were clean but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay is the staff’s excellent customer service. All of the people were very helpful and wonderfully patient with their time and advice. I so enjoyed my stay there and I hope to return.

Fantastic experience: A good place to stay for a solo traveller. I really enjoyed the stay an apt room value for money. As a tourist you visit this is really economical.

Positive experience: Nice neat room, I have heard some bad stuff about the place but personally I had a good experience. It was only for one night though. Room was small but really only really needed it to sleep in.

Negative experience: Avoid!! The room was gross. The bathroom looked like a male pub toilet. there was no hot water for the shower and the pressure was rubbish. There was blood splattered up the wall in the bedroom. There are no breakfast facilities and the staff weren't friendly. I would give 0 stars if I could! There were a few mess ups with our booking which I took up with the reservation team and the woman on reception wasn't being helpful. Lucky this was a trip on a virgin experience day and I took the issues up with them and got most of the trip cost back.

Negative experience: This is a two star hotel charging 3 star prices - I actually could have saved money by cancelling and moving to the Jurys Inn directly opposite but like a mug I chose to support the independent option. From the outside it started badly - a bit of the hotel had clearly been demolished and that turned out to be right by our room so the fire exit opened to the outside - I didnt thankfully need to open it as the fire hoses were also marked as out of service. The room was tiny, the bathroom too large and had mould in the grout and had clearly just been painted over on the walls - shower pressure was an absolute joke. The bed was awful - it squeaked if you moved even slightly and i left with backache. The TV had about 5 channels which were viewable and it was not cable, just Freeview. Fixing it would cost a few hundred quid. If this place cost about £30 I would say it was ok for the price, at £65 it is an awful deal and I would not recommend it.

Negative experience: It would have be been a three if it weren't for one of your staff colleagues being condescending towards me when I asked for help plus showers and lights not working properly...... Not a great experience I'm afraid especially coming down from Lancashire.

Negative experience: WARNING: Public Service Notice, in the early morning hours on 22nd July 2019, the Lansdowne Hotel Croydon luggage room was BURGLED by one black male, who tricked staff and gave him access to the luggage room ALONE. Several customers will be waking up this morning checking out, will soon discover, all their possessions were stolen out of a "locked luggage room" whilst you were sleeping. Immediately phone the Police and complain to the GM.

Negative experience: Hotel would be ok if was not located next to a hostel. Every day and night have people in and out the hostel rowing, drinking, smoking drugs, police visits, ambulance visits. They hang out, outside the hotel. Can be intimidating. The hotel itself is in need of a serious refurbishment. Bedroom was small, bathroom large, weird. Door locks with a key. Don't forget to lock it after you close it! If your street side you have the noise of the hostel folk keeping you awake. Can be entertaining! The only reason I give two stars is that you have access to a three floor gym. Not the best by any means, but good enough, with cardio on one floor, racks, freeweights and resistance machines. Not too busy either. If the hostel closed and they updated the place, door security etc would be better. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: I was not impressed at all. Unnecessarily pricey, no air conditioning. A room down the hall had a group shouting all night. I had to get a refund. I just got a reply from this hotel. An apology and short reminder that I was compensated. This is true, but even so I should give my honest opinion about what my experiences were.

Negative experience: This is a terrible, terrible hotel! The walls between the rooms are paper thin. I am sitting here at 2am having been kept up from 11:30pm by my neighbours having screaming sex, shouting and then back to the screaming sex. Called down to reception who couldn’t move me as no other rooms and had no answer from the room next door so just left. Honestly, for £30 more to stay in Jury’s across the road I urge you to book there!

Negative experience: The hotel rooms are to small and the baths are old. Children aren't allowed to go to the pool during weekdays which can be inconvenient nd makes the hotel boring. This is the worst hotel.

Positive experience: Clean and tidy but someone else booked my room and didn’t know they never do breakfast you have to go over the road for breakfast at the Jury Inn don't know if this is the norm. So I wouldn't fancy having to do all that in the winter

Negative experience: The venue next door has licence to play music at ear piercing volume until 3am. So if there is an event on I would strongly recommend not staying here if you wish to sleep before this time.

Negative experience: Not very happy - stayed weekends in a row Pool & Soa facilities do not even belong to the hotel Last weekend I was not allowed in the spa area and was told it was ‘woman’s club only’ This weekend me and my partner were told ‘not to show love and affection in the pool area’ which is absolutely ridiculous as we are hotel guest That’s 2 weekends in a row we’re we’re ‘stopped’ using the facilities so if your planning on staying here because of the spa and pool area I would strongly recommend you don’t.

Positive experience: One of my favourite hotels in greater London. I used to stay here often, but I thought it was due to close early 2019, and so found alternatives. My recent stay during 20th-22nd Jan was excellent, and I was upgraded to a very nice (executive) warm room during freezing weather. The head of Reception took great pains to help my stay and ensured that I had a fine short two-day break. Both Reception and cleaning staff were warm and friendly (and the Solutions team too!). Please don't close, as this is a gem. (I have NEVER encountered problems from drunks and druggies.) The hotel is ideally located for East Croydon, and onwards to London or for the south coast. Positive experience: A good budget option should work drag you, kicking and screaming, to surprisingly vibrant and multicultural East Croydon. Near everything and with a largish gym, pool and sauna club next door included in the price. There's also a reduced rate co-working place another door away if you go stir crazy in the small but perfectly functional rooms. The staff also handled drunken idiots needing police and paramedics in the early hours and offered generous compensation for something beyond their control. That was a personal and pleasing touch you probably wouldn't get in the chain budget hotels in the area.

Negative experience: Not happy with the service at all i got stuck in a room with mould also the staff are very rude the room was never being hovered during our stay i would never stay hear again and still waiting for some sort of refund as the service was very very poor ...

Negative experience: Unable to use pool after 15:45. Booked this hotel for facilities and was unable to use them.

Positive experience: Good sized room, clean and all the usual facilities, including a gym and 12 meter pool. Really reasonably priced as well. Only criticism was the bathroom had a little bit of mildew.

Negative experience: Doggy staff, Manager failed to meet me for an issues. staff at the reception wanted to take cash from me liying about the card reader doesnt work.

Positive experience: I must admit that I though it would be a very common hotel, but I got surprised. It's value for money! I got better service and facilities than what I thought I was paying for. The only negative is that you could end up having a calm night around 1am when all people drinking by the street are gone (I just got unlucky one night)

Positive experience: Reasonably comfortable. Rooms are small.Has leisure facilities but there is limited access for hotel residents, especially children.

Negative experience: Most uncomfortable mattress, can feel springs of mattress, non-ac rooms charges equivalent to near by 3-4 star hotel, shower in room baths needs proper force and quality. Noise of public on front rooms and big fan noise in back side rooms. Swimming pool, baths and sauna needs some improvement overall. Steam room and Jacuzzi facilities are good. Personally new owner should address mattress quality and shower heads in room bath very first thing to get good reviews.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff

Positive experience: Very nice experience. Rooms didn't have air conditioning so not recommended during a heatwave. Didn't get an opportunity to use the spa but a definite plus for me. Only fault was in the morning of check out the cleaner didn't knock but just unlocked the door and came straight in to naked guest. I spoke to the receptionist who said they would speak to her. Outside the front door of the hotel is the unofficial smoking area. This does present the hotel in a good light or good for the image. I feel something more suitable should be set up maybe towards the back of the hotel.

Negative experience: Rooms were worse than the premier Inn next door (dirty, hairs in bed etc.) and the stated flexible check out time is not really flexible. Not recommended.

Positive experience: A little noisy, our room window opened onto the street. Room was nice, fan was a welcome addition. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Pizza from attached restaurant was out of this world, would highly recommend.

Positive experience: Even though few things are lacking, somehow I liked to stay in this hotel compared to other hotels . In Croydon area . Friendly staff and receptionist. They should install Ac in all the rooms , the fan which they provided is not at all effective especially in summer. They can improve the common facilities for the price which they have qoated.

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Tiny, airless room, mould on the wall in the bathroom, toilet seat fell off when I lifted it to have a pee, no bar, no breakfast, noise from the street was horrendous and no parking. Other than that, ok. Staff were helpful but helpless in the face of a horrid hotel. If this seems a little grumpy it's because I didn't get any sleep!!!!!

Positive experience: The room could be nicer but it is a 3* hotel in England so nothing to complain about. Rooms are very clean which is the most important. Ironing room on the same floor and two minutes from East Croydon station. Perfect for business. The best of all is the fully equipped three floor gym next door.

Negative experience: I was staying at the Lansdowne for 6 days on business as the hotel was very close to the office where I was working. On arrival, the lady at the desk was very friendly but as I had arrived early, I was not able to check in for a couple of hours but she did suggest that I could leave my cases in a locked room and return after lunch. This was fine and understandable. I took this time to get some lunch and look around the local area which is immediately next to a shopping centre so this was convenient. On return I sat in reception which it where I first had my suspicions that this trip would not be all comfortable as the sofas in reception were really only suitable for the tip. The were tired and worn and were being jumped on like a tampoline by some small children who were not being controlled by their parent. However, I didnt really let this bother me and just wanted to get to my room and check in. I booked a "Superior Double Room" so expected a lot more than a double bed squeezed between two walls and a tv that was placed on the wall at the other side of the room which was very small. It was actually very basic but was clean Unfortunately though, it was so noisy on a Saturday evening until about 3am so did not get much sleep that night. The following evening I was noticing groups of individuals congregating outside the front of the building drinking and being very rowdy. This was the norm every evening due to it being next door to a hostel so it was impossible to get a restful sleep of an evening. One evening was particularly bad where a man was being attacked by several people in which I captured some of the incident on video from my room window. If I was to sumarise my stay, it would be that the hotel is in need of refurbishment as was very tired looking but I could not fault the staff for their work. I would also say that the location, although seemingly convenient next to a shopping centre, is very intimidating with the group of people who crowd outside from the hostel next door on a nightly basis. It did not make me feel safe or secure.

Positive experience: O hotel em si é muito bom, tem serviço de quarto, piscina aquecida, academia. Porém como pontos negativos é a falta de um frigobar no quarto para resfriar alguma bebida e o fato de ser muito longe do centro de Londres. Dependendo do horário chega a demorar 2 horas de ônibus dos principais pontos turísticos da cidade.

Positive experience: Average hotel experience. It was very noisy and far too hot in the room, which made it hard to sleep. Very convenient location for direct train into London. Cheaper and easier than staying somewhere in central. You get what you pay for.

Positive experience: I've given this place a good review mostly because of the free gym access for guests. The gym is huge and has loads of equipment. There's a beauty salon there too. There's no breakfast in the hotel, you have to buy a voucher and go across the road to the jury's inn - not cheap! The restaurant/bar is a separate establishment and it's not open late. You would struggle to find anywhere open serving food, ended up ordering take away. The rooms are kinda small but have what you need.
