Positive experience: Have used Sidcup for a few years not realising crook log was included in the membership The gym is fairly well equipped, everything Sidcup has with a few to spare 2 extra Deadlift platforms 1 additional squat rack hack squat machine (Sidcup doesn't have this) Annoyingly crook log is inconsistent with Sidcup on their policy for gym bags where it's never been an issue bringing a bag in Two gate system and poor scan in ability also hinders this gym from feeling good by comparison to Sidcup where I have had no issues Crook log is good if you want to use machines and don't depend on your own equipment Sidcup is better for things like Olympic lifting

Regarding the points of frustration you mentioned, we would like to offer some clarity on our site-specific policies:

Gym Bag Policy: Crook Log is a high-capacity facility. We enforce a strict "no bags on the floor" policy primarily as a safety measure. In the event of an emergency, bags left on the gym floor act as tripping hazards during a fire evacuation. We kindly ask members to use the lockers provided to ensure a clear and safe environment for everyone.

Entry System & Connectivity: Our two-gate system is essential for maintaining the integrity of our memberships, ensuring that our all inclusive membership and swim-only access is managed correctly. We acknowledge that mobile signal can be a challenge in certain areas of the building; therefore, we encourage all members to connect to our complimentary guest WiFi upon arrival to ensure a smooth scan-in experience.

We would like to highlight that our three dedicated deadlift platforms are designed to accomodate all movements including Olympic movements. We hope that as you become more familiar with the new layout, you’ll find it a capable space for your lifting routine.

We value your long-term membership across our sites. Your feedback regarding the "friction" between the two locations is incredibly helpful as we look for ways to make the transition between Sidcup and Crook Log as seamless as possible for our members.

Negative experience: Both the swimming coach and the front desk receptionist displayed a very poor attitude and a complete lack of patience. The coach became visibly impatient after only a few words, showing no willingness to explain or guide properly. The receptionist was equally unfriendly and unhelpful. I came to your facility in a very positive mood, genuinely looking forward to learning and improving my swimming skills. Unfortunately, I left feeling upset and frustrated. The experience completely ruined what should have been a good day. To be honest, if it were not for the fact that there are no other swimming facilities near my home, I would never consider returning. The level of service I experienced was far below acceptable standards.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for just over a year. After suffering some depression I decided to take up swimming. It has really helped and I now feel fantastic. Crook Log is my happy place! But its not only the swimming, the staff are absolutely amazing. From the lovely ladies on reception through the the life guards and everyone else. The reception staff are so helpful. Whether you phone with a query or face to face, they cannot do enough for you. And always have friendly faces when you walk in, what ever the time day. The lifeguards are lovely too. They are always busy working hard but always have a smile and a hello. It makes all the difference. Being a member of Crook Log is great. You feel part of a community as everyone is so friendly including members. I would reccommend to anyone.

Positive experience: Some staff are helpful others are not. The new QR code based entry system is very temperamental. The equipment in the gym is great, and there is usually ample availability. Usually there is no help or guidance. The pool water and the changing village are constantly dirty, hairy, slimy and disgusting. There needs to be a deep clean and controls on people coming in with dirty footwear and not showering before the pool. It is not worth the 55£ but the least worst option in Bexleyheath for a gym and swim. Too bad the sauna is gone now.

We sincerely apologize for the condition of the changing village and pool area. Cleanliness is a top priority, and your description of the facilities is not the standard we aim for. We are immediately reviewing our cleaning schedules and will look into ways to better enforce our policies regarding outdoor footwear and pre-swim showering to ensure a more hygienic environment for everyone.

Regarding our new QR entry system, we understand it can be temperamental as we transition to this new technology; we are working to resolve these technical glitches to make access smoother. We also hear your feedback on the need for more consistent staff support and guidance on the gym floor, as well as the loss of the sauna.

Negative experience: Weekends are kaotic. Too many people are authorised to use the lane swimming pools. It is very difficult to enjoy a relaxing swim any more with so many bodies bumping together. And now children are added to the stew also !

Fantastic experience: Feedback for Natalie and Angela I would like to share my appreciation for both Natalie and Angela for their continued support during my recovery from a work-related injury. They always check in with me during sessions and ensure that each Pilates class is tailored to meet my needs. Even on days when pain or low motivation make it difficult to continue, I always leave feeling encouraged and positive. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care make a real difference in my recovery. They help me to build confidence in my ability. Negative experience: I took my son for his regular parent and toddler swimming lesson on 20th September and had a deeply unpleasant experience. As we were about to enter a changing cubicle, I was horrified to find a used sanitary towel on the floor. This is completely unacceptable and a serious hygiene concern. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve noticed poor cleanliness at Crook Log Leisure Centre. The changing areas are consistently dirty, with hair everywhere and walls that look like they haven’t been cleaned in a very long time. This latest incident has left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and concerned about the overall hygiene standards at the facility. I will be cancelling my membership and taking my son elsewhere, where cleanliness and basic hygiene are taken seriously. Crook Log needs to seriously review its cleaning procedures and standards if it wants to retain families and regular users.

Negative experience: Another fire alarm today , second time I experience this year at crook log leisure center, and with lately the WiFi issue on gate access , it’s really inconvenience, hope this is resolve soon . More access issue on 12/9 .

Positive experience: They never answer the phone, and its very difficult to find the information you need on the website, the variety of classes are low considering the cost of membership and its close to impossible to book on to the ones you like. The parent and toddler gymnastics is very good and a hit with the little ones you can always find a park space which is also a plus but bexley often have road works near entrance so be mindful of this so you dont end up late for a lesson or class.

You will be pleased to know we offer over 90 group exercise classes, Members are permitted to book up to 7 days in advance or 14 days in advance if an PREMIUM upgrade is purchased; registered non-members are permitted to book 5 days in advance. We kindly ask members to make every effort to cancel your booking via the app or on-line if you are unable to attend a booked session. This allows other customers to utilise the space. Cancellation of reserved sessions is permitted, provided that such cancellation is made at least 2 hours in advance of the activity start time.
Failure to attend a booked activity without giving the requisite notice 3 times within any 30 day period will result in the loss of advanced booking rights for 1 week [7 days].

We are glad to hear you enjoy our parent & toddler sessions they are certainly enjoyable for the children. We unfortunately cannot predict the road works outside the Centre as they are out of control, we just ask members if there are any road works to plan their journeys in advance, there are currently no road works outside the Centre which is great news for our customers.

Negative experience: The member of staff on reception and the membership team could not have been more lovely and helpful... however that is where the positive experience ends for me. In line with Lacey's review (wish I'd read reviews before bothering to be fair!!) the changing village was very dirty not with todays mess but entrenched poor cleaning and shoddy standards. The floor was greasy and unclean, grey not cream, the changing cubicle had hair and sweet wrappers in it .. ok thats todays dirt but take a look behind the doors of the cubicles at the splashed substances up the wall and back of the doors. If that is the state of the changing room then I am not dipping my toes in the pool.. goodness knows what the scum line there looks like. I didn't get past the changing village and in fairness when I told the memberships guy I was leaving due to how unclean the place was he walked round with me and agreed it was in need of attention in lots of areas. Says he will be passing this on to senior teams ASAP... hope it improves for those making the effort to use the facilities.

Negative experience: I am not usually the type of person who complains, but I believe the Changing Village could be maintained to a much higher standard of cleanliness. During my visit, I was surprised to hear lifeguards engaging in loud conversations about their personal experiences with girls, instead of focusing on their duties. This is unprofessional and uncomfortable, On top of that, the swimming teachers themselves are not very professional, as they often spend time laughing and joking with each other during lessons instead of focusing fully on the children. Having to tolerate such an environment makes the situation completely unacceptable, and I know other parents feel the same way.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend swimming lessons with Jo! My son started a Stage One crash course with her and was really nervous on day one, but thanks to Jo’s patience and encouragement, his confidence grew massively throughout the week. She praised him for trying new things and made the experience fun and reassuring. The difference between day one and day five is incredible. He actually feels sad that the course is finished and wishes it went on longer! We’ll definitely be signing him up for the weekly lessons with Jo. A huge thank you!

Negative experience: Terrible trying to get anybody to answer a phone here or use the website to book if you’re a non member. And to top it off they boast about the flexibility of their membership options which includes paying a year in advance or paying monthly (although you still have to pay for at least 12 months…) Not much flexibility there… *And to add further at 2:40pm 8/8/25 after ringing back again and again someone finally picked up. To then immediately hang up…

Fantastic experience: Great variety of quality classes and mega keen instructors. Good 25m pool. Well equipment gym. Environment regularly cleaned by dedicated staff. Friendly receptionists. Good reasonable price. I've been a member for more than 10 years and without doubt it is the best gym on the borough. Poor WiFi and entrance admission system awful.

Negative experience: Changing rooms need fixing/cleaning shower doors broken Its a deadzone for mobile signal so wifi is a must. The wifi does not work. Peak time weekends have zero wifi capability. Please upgrade this as a priority.

Positive experience: Crook Log Sports Centre is a well-equipped and popular local facility, offering a range of sports and fitness options. However, one drawback is its operating hours — it opens a bit late and closes a little early compared to other centres in the area. Because of this, although many people initially consider coming here, the limited hours often lead them to choose other venues with more flexible schedules. Extending the opening times could make it much more convenient for those with busy routines.

Negative experience: If you think your kids will learn how to swim with these jokers, think again, I took my kids swimming lessons on Sunday, the swimming instructor was more worried about getting wet than teaching the kids. I have paid for the month once that’s up I’m gone.

Positive experience: Good leisure centre. Generally quite clean inside. You often see the cleaners, cleaning the changing rooms and swimming areas. Staff friendly and front desk always helpful. Nice family-run cafe inside which is reasonably priced. Only negative is gym prices are quite pricey. Obviously cheaper than the likes of virgin and David Lloyds but I think it is still pricey for what it offers. But for kids activities, swimming lessons etc - can't complain! It's worth it for that!

Negative experience: Standards of swimming instruction has gone down. The grading/levels are not aligning with skills at all which slows fown the whole group. Instructors do not focus on individuals in a group class and there is hardly any feedback on individual issues or things to correct in a stroke. I have seen much much better standards of instruction elsewhere.

Negative experience: Very poor customer service received. Due to an admin error by this centre, which the centre eventually owned up to, my son was forced to get out of the pool after 10 minutes of a pre-paid swimming lesson due to not being on the register. The duty manager who handled this was extremely rude, and acted like a complete jobsworth. The centre has subsequently owned this mistake and apologised, yet has since been harassing me for an "outstanding balance" of a month's payment despite this, and the fact that I paid for lessons last month that were not delivered. Shambolically poor customer service all round and neither me nor my son want to return given the way we have been treated.

Positive experience: The function room where mainly yoga and Pilates classes are held was absolutely filthy - full of dust on some broken equipments, floor horribly dirty. It aggravated my asthma. The changing rooms are equally unhygienic; in some places mould is growing.

Fantastic experience: Only been here for the pool, changing rooms I see get cleaned often, both pools great. The younger Kids love the smaller pool as the depth can be adjusted so they can touch the bottom. Fun evening swim to tire the kids out.

Negative experience: I signed the contract in January. I have been informed that the fee for January and February will be £10 each and the full amount will be charged from March 1. To make sure I understood correctly, I asked three times. Unfortunately, after the first month, they tried to download the whole thing from my account. I was there to talk to the manager, but he rudely said that no one told me that. At the time of signing the contract, my wife and another lady were also there, who also claims that she was misled by an employee.

Negative experience: After several years, I’ve had to cancel my kids' swimming classes, just because I couldn’t leave my personal belongings in one of the dozens of empty changing cabins for 10 minutes. I had two classes, 30 minutes apart, but due to a long school trip, I couldn’t arrive in time for the first lesson. My second child was still changing around 45 minutes past the hour, while my first child’s lesson ended at 55 minutes past. It’s absolutely ridiculous that this is an issue, especially when the pool is nearly empty at that time on a weekday. Now it will be even emptier, so your precious changing rooms will remain unused.

Positive experience: Good overall, however the crèche booking system needs to be improved massively. Every parent should be able to see in the leisure centre app how many spaces are available for each age group as it saves time from having to call the reception and sometimes they're busy so no one can answer. I have upgraded to premium purely for crèche and it us still difficult to book it in advance as there's no info on the app.... Please improve the app as I'm sure there are more parents out there that agree with me...

Fantastic experience: I’m not sure what all the bad reviews are about? It’s a great accessible leisure centre that’s reasonably priced. They cater for everyone, it’s clean, dated in parts - but daily use of things will do that. I cannot recommend the classes enough, especially Clare’s class for Body Pump, she’s a total gem and I cannot recommend this enough. Good place, good facilities, good people

Negative experience: I went to Leisure Centre Bexleyheath to try the gym and had a horrible experience. When I arrived I was asked to have the app. I explained I didn’t have the membership, but I was just told “ It doesn’t matter! I can print a ticket but you will have to wait upstairs until someone comes around “ I then tried to download the app but straight away the receptionist gave me a ticket and said… just go upstairs. When I arrived there I had to wait for someone… and that’s fine. A really nice lady passed by with some cleaning products and asked me if I needed help. I explained to her that I came to try the gym and she called another member of staff to help. This blond lady came with a massive attitude, said I didn’t have to download the app as I was not a member. Didn’t make me feel welcome at all and with an angry face just said I can use the gym. Before start training I tried to have some water but the fountain was not working . I then asked the same blonde girl where could I find another fountain but with a really bad tone and attitude just told me to go to the end of the gym. At the end I just decided to leave as it was not worth to even think about spending money in a place like this . FYI…. I have trained in Erith as part of the trial and the service was amazing! Such a nice people and they make you feel really welcome!

Positive experience: Tried the 3 day gym pass. Whilst the gym has good space and most of the equipment required, it lacks others. The equipment has rust on some of the adjustable components making it difficult to alter, particularly on the leg extension and leg curl machines. Not any fault of the gym, but a tendency for others to not de-rack equipment after use. Maybe there should be a sign like in other gyms to remind people not to be so lazy! Lots of cardio machines available. Good classes available.

Negative experience: My family and myself have been using this leisure centre for almost 8 years, and paying premium prices. As I am going on holiday so decided cancelled my subscription on 8th Dec (even payment made by 31 Dec 2024), but when I visited leisure centre today came to know they have blocked my membership and when I asked first they said I have not paid, then I said already paid for December, then they said you have not told us that you have cancelled your direct debit, again I said I have already mentioned in my cancellation note. Despite this the manager was a very rude and raised voice, which is not acceptable at all. Also going to write to the head office so that they can arrange some behaviour training to their staff. Although the staff at reception are good.

Negative experience: The sand and mud accumulated at the bottom of the swimming pool can be clearly seen from the second floor stand. Please clean it up as soon as possible. The only reason went to crook log Because it is the nearest swimming pool from my house ,my child learn to swim here.

Fantastic experience: I have coming here regularly in the past 2 months. It is clean and staff are very friendly. It is a shame the gym doesn't have any adult classes around from 12 to 2pm, they would be perfect for pwo2who work from home. I can only go to evening classes there.

Negative experience: I primarily use this center for gym and honestly, I think it’s overpriced for what’s offered. The equipment and overall setup are quite basic, and the facilities, such as the toilets and showers, are outdated and often not very clean. On the positive side, the location is convenient for me as it’s very close to where I live, and there’s ample parking available. However, I feel the cost doesn’t reflect the quality of the amenities provided.

Positive experience: I am usually swim. Saturdays are very busy, including mornings. During the week late afternoons are used by swimming clubs, early afternoon is quite ok. Toilets are usually not very clean even first thing in the morning. Bottom of the pool usually dirty - sand, dirt, small rubbish, hair.

Fantastic experience: As a member of Crook Log gym I would say it's amazing! Great value and get a lot for it out of my money.. Free swimming. Sauna use and many different classes. One of the best gyms I've been to so far. Would definitely recommend it. Friendly people around. Overall a great place to work out! :)

Positive experience: It has a nice pool and staff are friendly enough. It's a shame that there are those folks that have little notion of their capabilities ( often less adept ) and choose the wrong lanes and then bully others. There is a guide on pace when booking lanes but not everyone is cognisant of this or they deliberately overlook this.

Negative experience: I was very sorry to said that, why must we book the swimming on the internet or online, it should be free for people like to swimming just go an pay the price at anytime if they are free for for swimming, Not book the time. Negative experience: This is a members only club. As there are no other swimming pools in the area I feel this discriminates against those where can't afford a membership and those who want to take their kids as a treat on a hot day. I don't want to have to pay for a monthly membership just to go swimming once.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at the centre for two years. The staff has always been friendly and polite, I loved going for lane swimming practice, even though sometimes it was hard to get a slot as they were booked pretty quickly in the evenings. And the centre has a very well equipped gym with loads of different machines and a lot of cardio equipment as well. Great instructors who are always happy to show you the correct way of doing the workout. Clean premises. Free parking. I attended several classes as well - the yoga one, hiit and body pump were my favourites! Teachers were great and very motivating too! I had to cancel my membership because I moved too far from Bexleyheath to travel to Crook Log but I miss this place a lot, especially as I'm struggling to find a decent gym around my area.

Negative experience: Very bad customer service. Been using the gym with my family a few days a week for the last few months (5 members of our household are members here.) I arrived with my dad to use the gym as usual to find my monthly payment had bounced back due to the bank holiday weekend. I spoke with the lady Claire at the desk who was very dismissive and didn’t offer any options. Refused to make the exception as “too many people trying to use the gym for free and we are watched on the cameras.” I was not trying to use the gym for free I am a loyal member wishing to fix the payment issue. There was no solution to pay for the membership on the spot, 0 customer service, flexibility or understanding therefore I was falsed to walk home leaving my dad upstairs waiting for me none the wiser. Due to this I feel like not even continuing the membership. When issues like this occur if it’s not possible to fix in person on the spot you should at least have a phone call OR EMAIL from the membership team to inform you so you can fix it and avoid this kind of situation. Very disappointing Further to this In reply to the team I have not been contacted by a member of staff or emailed as you say I have. Today I have spent 40 minutes on hold on the phone to the leisure Center as I was given the wrong phone number by your team last night. Another member of staff finally gave me the phone number for the membership team. Finally when I reached them they informed me it is the responsibility of the leisure Center team to fix the issue. Very bad customer service I will be attending the gym like usual between now and the 15th as I am paying for the full month.

We apologise if you experienced this customer service. There was a default fee charge on your account due to a missed payment, however the solution would be for one of our team to contact our team who deal with these missed payments where we would then subsequently query this payment and this would have saved you leaving the Centre. If there are missed payments you will always receive an email stating this and then you can query on the back of the email. Due to the missed payment we will collect your direct debit around the 15th. Going forward you will just need to ensure that we are able to collect the monies to counter further default fee charges. Once again we apologise for the inconvenience, as from a customer service perspective we could have done much better which we have highlighted with our front of house team to improve our customer service.

Negative experience: Took my grandaughter of 8 months after previously phoning to check small pool was free , when arrived and after changing was told small pool is not available and stayed unused for the next 45 mins , asked 2 members of staff why we couldnt use and was told that it was used for lessons. It stayed empty , every time i use this pool there is a issue iof some kind . Really cant be bothered anymore and will go elsewhere .

Unfortunately we was unable to get hold of you, we advise members when participating in our spin classes to book an instructor led class first as the instructor will be able to set up your bike according which will assist you in future classes.

Positive experience: Switched Gyms for a family membership that included a pool. A little too busy after 5pm owing to groups of people congregating around weight machines. Other than that, decent value for money. Plenty of cardio machines.

Negative experience: There’s a very rude lady manager that works in the gym part of the leisure Centre wants some sort of conflict for some reason first telling me my qr code is not scanning because it’s my account then I had to inform her that I can see on her screen that there’s a greentick next to my name which said approved then she was just staring at me later on I was about to start working out then she came Over and said ohh you can’t wear a backpack while working out very bizarre anyway 40min later when doing stretches I was in the stretching area she came over I asked her if there’s a different skipping rope as this one was very short like very short she said “no!that’s the only one and you have to leave in a min because there’s a class” in the stretching area?but in a rude way there was 5 other people there stretching she only told me to leave I don’t usually make complaints as it’s too time consuming but seriously strangest behaviour I have ever experienced. Apart from the skipping rope and the ladies strange behaviour the equipment was excellent full range of stuff to use for everyone’s fitness needs.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed to see a pieces of food near the medium swimming lane not being cleaned for the third day. This indicates that the floors are not being cleaned or at least swept every day. Bunches of hair and other dirt are seen in the water. It’s the same story with the gent's WC. The toilet seats are in such a state that one must be brave to sit in them. I wonder how soon people will start experiencing health issues, such as serious stomach bugs, due to such an appealing level of cleanliness. This should be reported to the HSE or the local authorities to invite them for a detailed inspection. Also, a two days after I left this review, despite paying a whole year subscription for using the swimming pool, my booking app which I suppose to use every time I plan to use their facilities, stopped suddenly working. I was told by the receptionist that this is due to not scanning my bar membership code in the entrance. That's funny, because the gate system is unlocked all the time, allowing anyone to enter their facilities without any verification. Am I being penalised for leaving a negative review? I will keep observing all closely. A dodgy things are happening here.

In regards to pieces of food you found on poolside this is completely forbidden, and after investigating this it was a cracked tile which we have raised with our maintenance team.

We operate a regimented cleaning regime at the Centre to welcome our customers into a clean environment.

Certain areas of the Centre for example floors, toilets and changing rooms are checked hourly due to our high footfall, and our team will perform cleaning duties as expected.

Negative experience: By far the dirtiest changing rooms and pool area I have ever seen. The lanes for lane swimming are not fit for purpose and far too small. The whole place is a sensory nightmare.

Negative experience: Went swimming last Saturday with a good friend of mine and when we went swimming in the big pool they had some kind of sand or brown stuff at the bottom of the pool and it looked disgusting I thought they would of at least closed the pool or done something about it

Thank you for the enquiry. The sand in the bottom of the pool is currently under review by the Maintenance team as we have recently had this removed. This does not require the pool to be closed as this is being investigated and simply has come from the filters that operate the pool plant.

Negative experience: Very poor Gym. I was sworn at and shouted at by the manager (i think). Later on during my session she said that i deserved to be sworn at and then denied that she said anything to her colleagues and said to me it was my word against an adults. New manager needed immediately before the gym goes downhill even more. Very poor gym and faulty/broken equipment, do not join

Negative experience: Firstly walked in and had no acknowledgement from staff, I understand they were on the phone but they could have still given a signal. Instead we had to stand waiting for ages just to be told we can't go swimming because the pool closes at 3:20 (it was 3PM), and we should have booked online. No details online about swimming times, and all information suggests you can walk in. We didn't even manage to see the swimming timetables unless we actually went to book a session. No offers from staff to book us into a different session at all and quite frankly the woman at the desk spoke to us like we were petulant children and should know this information. It's not even displayed in the leisure centre so it's not exactly obvious. Honestly just an entirely off putting experience from start to finish.

Negative experience: With the new system they have, meaning more kids and cleaner place. It's a miss because our kids does not have enough time to swim and learn. Also my kid is stuck in 89% progress for 3 months, due to more kids to look after. We went to 89% in 3 weeks and stayed there for 3 months. we swim a lot, so I know she can move to stage 3.

Negative experience: Phoned twice no answer from members of staff waited 20mins on hold still didn't answered had to pay 20£ on top of my standart fee because direct debit didn't gone throught to them they haven't set it up properly although money was on my account and i left my bank details for them upon signing also got 3 strikes on my entry althought i was all the time coming to leisure centre and they didnt signed me in no one told me about member cards that you should have and i am only over one month signed with this leisure centre whats gonna happen next i am already scare to think seems like it's lack of organization skills between staff members no one's litteraly care about the customer and it's a shame so far not so good.. just ruining my sport routine and time..

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting. They have changed the swimming pool for lane swimming. Keeping half the pool open for the public and half the pool for lane swimming. This means lane swimming only gets one lane. There are 3 lanes for slow medium and fast. Also now allowing 12 swimmers in each lane. Who in hell thought this was a good idea. The slow lane is meant to be for slow swimmers of various swimming speeds and disabilities. Now there is absolutely no room to overtake if you are stuck behind a really slow swimmer. Who on earth thought this was a good idea. This is not what we signed up for. They just changed it without telling any members. I will be cancelling my membership with you.

Negative experience: The swimming lessons are great but the changing rooms are so unhygienic and dirty. I've been trying to cancel my swimming lessons but no-one has helped so far, I followed the steps online but yet to have them cancelled.

Negative experience: Crooklog Leisure Centre has gone downhill since the new manager I believe her name to be Charmaine has taken over I do not recommend anyone to come here. I've noticed lifeguards being left on poolside for multiple hours with no break, which is extremely unsafe for both customers and staff. However, I must say that the employees who work there are fantastic. It's just a shame that the upper management isn’t taking into consideration how the new changes are not positive.

Positive experience: The gym facilities are excellent and varied and the pool is great (if not too crowded when they keep half the lanes closed at peak time so everyone is crammed into half the pool), staff are friendly but main downside of crook log is that the changing rooms and showers in pool area are in huge need of an upgrade and very very unhygienic, there is always clumps of hair caked onto the floor and walls of every shower for days on end, bottom of pool floor is covered in plasters and sand. Can’t understand why the amazing refurb or the gym etc hasnt extended into changing facilities, it would be 5 stars otherwise.

Negative experience: Not recommended, paid for children's Gymnastics class via direct debit, teacher did not show up for classes, no communication so arrived to find classes cancelled. And then told money will not be refunded - as cancelled classes within the terms and conditions. Update in reply to Crook Log Response. You offered a partial refund, not a full refund and you told me your terms and conditions allow for 6 cancelled classes a year without need for reimbursement.

Positive experience: The toilets in the swimming changing rooms are the stuff of nightmares. They are absolutely disgusting. The pool is great. The lifeguards are brilliant. It would be very helpful to have more family changing rooms, and also more benches near the door to the pool; if the kids are lining up for swim class there is nowhere for you to put your shoes on before heading out. A pram park would also be very helpful.

Positive experience: Great place for swimming , management need to enforce a strict ban on people entering wet areas , without covers on thier outdoor shoes , Alternatively shoes should be removed. I have seen muddy footmarks around the pool area .

Fantastic experience: We came here for the very popular antique and collectors fair. It's packed with over 140 stalls selling a variety of antiques, vintage, and memorabilia to suit all tastes and pockets. Parking is free, small admission price. We bought a few things today. It's worth a visit.

Negative experience: Fast lane is used by people that take longer than 1’45’’ every 50m so it is very hard to train at a faster pace (eventhough it is supposed to be used only by people that swim under 45’’/50m). Cannot use fins or snorkel to train with if not in a swimming lesson. The bottom of the pool is dirty with plasters and all sort of things.

In regards to the situation where the fast lane swim is being used by slower swimmers I will ensure that lifeguards are made aware that they can monitor the swimmers and move them into different lanes if they are not meeting the required lane conditions.

As for the use of snorkels and fins to train during these lane swims, it is not permitted due to various health and safety concerns.

Fantastic experience: I attend public swimming sessions and swimming with my baby classes. I like swimming pool facilities and changing room with key lockers. quite clean pool and near pool area, friendly stuff and reception ladies, what I like very much. Plus there is a good cafe inside. With not bad coffee :) P.S. recently have some questions to baby swimming classes - teacher made impolite comments to me, so I felt uncomfortable. And water in baby pool could be a bit warmer as my baby was chattering teeth. But in general classes are okay and price is reasonable.

Negative experience: I take my son for swimming lessons but the facilities are not clean at all! Also the lessons have too many children stuffed into one batch. My son in the same level for months as the coaches can’t train so many students at the same time, the attention obviously is restricted to few children that they can manage. Also the progress is not updated for last 4 months. It feels like only direct debit is taken each month and no one at the Leisure Centre is responsible for any progress made by the pupils.

Negative experience: My daughter wasn't comfortable when we left her there while we trained, so I preferred not to go to the gym anymore. We only went once and I had to pay over £200 for something I didn't use. I looked for the cancellation option in the app and did not find it, I sent an email with my case but no one cared, they just wanted my money, and they had it. I paid enraged, because in addition to this problem, the sauna didn't work, the pool would have to be scheduled, all the classes for the entire week were already empty, so I just threw money away. They will never see money come out of my wallet again, and I would not recommend this place in any way.

In regards to cancelling this is stated in members terms & conditions whereby you must provide at least one months notice. The health suite has not been a facility since March 2020, we know you only joined in June 2022, and since March 2020 we spent a significant investment into improving the whole facility giving a fully refurbished gym, alongside upgrades to our Group Cycling and Aerobic studios with top of the range equipment from Life Fitness.

Negative experience: Today I took son for my swimming lesson with Alexandera in stage 1. He enjoyed his swimming as usual. But today incident( at 15:30) was utterly unprofessional by one swimming instructor her name is Sam as my son was in pool and Alexandera was trying to get him off but out of nowhere that instructor Sam she yelled at him saying get out of the pool now and she's not his instructor, it was very threating verbal and body language. I have liased with today's deputy manager Jodie and said she will forward the issue. If that things continue I will have to report to police as it's very threating to kids with autism. I request to the manager that please don't let that instructor to dealt with my son in near future thanking you.

Negative experience: I asked why people were not taking outdoor shoes off before entering changing room or putting on overshoes & staff said that they are told not to enforce it. There was a school there last week for lessons & 2 teachers were wearing outdoor shoes (not good example). Again when I pointed this out to a member staff he said they can't make anyone use overshoes if they don't want to! Toilets are also not clean or bottom of pool. Showers have been out of operation for nearly 4 weeks but not kept informed of when they will be back working although there is hot water in basins! Not very hygienic as you should shower prior to swimming. Apparently men's toilets in gym were out of action last week too! Need to make some changes if they want to attract new members.

Negative experience: Don't subscribe here. 53£ month for a gym without shower. I subscribed last week, I have asked explicitly if there are showers as i finish my night shift, I go straight away to the gym and i need to have a shower before to go home. As my time is precious and I can't waste another half hour home to have a shower there. They said they have. I started to go and showers are out of use since October and they didn't tell me when i subscribed. Then i went to tell this to their advisors and they can't do nothing... Not even a discount. Ridicolous. For the same service I can go to another gym 50 meters far and pay half, but i need to advise 1 month in advance to cancel subscription here. Avoid!!! Waste of money

Negative experience: Showers are not working for a month. Staff says they have not been informed of what’s happening or when the issue should be fix. At minimum the centre should discount everyone’s membership as they are providing only partially the service they have contractually agreed to under the T&Cs.

Negative experience: The worst gym I have used! I can’t recommend anyone join them for the gym. The charge an absolute fortune for monthly membership but don’t make it worth it. In this place if things break, don’t expect it to get fixed fast. You’ll be waiting at least a few months. The fast track entry has been out of use for about 5months. The upstairs Smith machine was out of use for about 3/4 months. When asked when it was getting fixed, they said they had the part but was waiting for an engineer to come and fix it. The upstairs changing room are horrible. They stink of p**s and are filthy. It never has hand wash. I’ve complained to the cleaner and the reception staff a few times. But complaints always fall on deaf ears. Honestly, for the gym this really isn’t a nice place.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Crook Log Leisure Centre, we are disappointed to read your comments. The monthly membership fee includes a 200 station Fitness Suite, 8 lane Swimming Pool and 109 Group Exercise Classes, access to 2 other leisure centres within the borough that also have similar facilities and is therefore competitively priced. The membership you have chosen is the Flexi membership allowing you to cancel with a month's notice but there are many other memberships available depending on your situation and needs.

Unfortunately, due to world events, there are many delays on parts that are required to fix the maintenance issues. Whilst the fast track turnstile was out for an extended period of time, you were still able to walk through the Reception area and use the Honeywell readers to swipe through resulting in a minimal delay when utilising the facilities. Unfortunately, there was a delay with the Smith machine via our supplier but as soon as it was received, the engineer was contacted to attend and resolve the issue. We appreciate and understand the frustrations when equipment breaks and the delays when parts are not freely available but please be rest assured that we want this equipment fixed as quickly as the customers

All areas are cleaned in line with the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules, which also include ensuring that there is soap available for use. I would like to thank you for bringing this area to our attention, we will ensure that this area receives increased inspections to meet the standards and expectations our customers deserve.

If you would like to speak to a member of the management team, we would be happy to speak to you about the issues and alleviate your concerns.

Negative experience: Swimming and changing rooms not clean enough,Leisure centre should improve their cleaning procedures.Also various people especially parents picking up children from lessons, don’t wear overshoes or don’t take their shoes off either, this makes it harder to maintain the cleanliness off the facility.Leisure Centre Senior Management should be looking into how this can be stopped.Strong measures should be brought in and possibly staff should lead by example as they are also wearing outdoor shoes.Swimming pool needs the bottom of the pool cleaned too as it’s full of sand,etc.Crook Log Centre have the best set up in the area it’s a real shame the facility cannot be maintained at high levels.

Positive experience: Great pool and a lovely training pool for kiddies with a changeable floor level. Only slightly annoying thing would be the slow swimmers that book the fast lane and refuse to move lanes when asked by the lifeguard. The policy is you must swim 25m in 30 seconds or less, but they don't stick to it. Some swimmers taking a minute or more to do 25m!

Positive experience: Slow swimmers in the wrong lanes seems to be the norm here. Isn’t it the life guards job to police this kind of stuff? Also the water in the training pool tastes weird.
