Positive experience: ​"I am satisfied with the gym facilities; I used them for one month, which was sufficient to evaluate the service. However, I am dissatisfied with the membership cancellation process. Requiring an email notification one month in advance is inconvenient, especially for busy individuals. Despite informing the reception that I only intended to stay for one month, I continued to be charged monthly even though I was no longer using the gym. My request for a refund for the unused months was denied, citing the lack of a formal cancellation email sent thirty days prior."

Negative experience: Scammers. I went to the pool twice. I didn't like it. I wanted to leave. But they told me that I also have to pay for the next month. Because if I want to leave, I have to give a month's notice. In the end, I paid for two months and didn't go.

Positive experience: I’m just for the swimming mainly early morning and in that respect, having only just joined i find it to be quite simply superb, The changing rooms are high quality and clean with good showers, There’s nothing that disappoints Update : Now that i’ve spent a little time at this gym and wishing to add constructive criticism The mention of filthy floors by others is a totally valid one and the reason for the loss of a star. It’s a shame because this is something that could easily be rectified by the proper use of industrial cleaning solutions and scrubbing machinery. The fact that this hasn’t been done and that the steam room remains closed without any sign of it ever opening again means that maybe there something we don’t know about? is the pending desire by fat cats to redevelop the beehive centre which at the moment is being rejected stopping the likes of Mike Ashby (yes he of Sports Direct fame who owns these chain of gyms) from investing anymore money into this particular gym in Cambridge? The staff are always very polite to me and deserve to be proud of the gym they work in. Come on Mr Ashby have a word with your CEO at Everlast is he really up to the challenge as he says he is. What really IS the future of this gym? would hate to see it go. btw - great phone app , and far better than silly membership cards that get lost or misplaced just barscan and you’re in Are you reading Nuffields ? .,, now there’s a gym in Cambridge that’s really gone downhill over the years since it took over from when it was Greens, and certainly with regards the swimming pool , changing rooms/showers. vastly overpriced and can’t even come up with a reasonable membership just for swimmers. “ how do we know you won’t use the gym ?” that was the final straw after 15 years of using THAT pool. clearly never thought of gate access to other parts of a gym which is why i’m genuinely gobsmaked at the comments about Cambridge’s everlast ones. two reviews for the “price” of one

Negative experience: There is a serious lack of cleanliness in the changing facilities, with a bad smell and widespread filth. The equipment is bottom range technogym, and is often not maintained. The lack of plates also makes working out at peak times challenging. Contracts are also binding and difficult to end. Stands out as the worst gym ive been to, out of dozens.

Negative experience: WARNING: Deceptive Contract Terms and Outdated Facilities My experience with this gym started with their promotional £1 December membership. We explicitly inquired with the staff member whether there were any extended commitments or "strings attached." We were verbally assured that we would be able to cancel the membership at any point after the introductory month was over. Trusting this verbal assurance from the gym staff, we signed up without reviewing the fine print in detail. We later discovered that we were actually locked into a full 12-month contract that requires a 30-day notice period to cancel. This is a clear case of verbal misrepresentation contradicting the written terms, which resulted in us paying for a full year despite only using the facility only a few times . Prospective members should be extremely careful and read every line of the fine print, regardless of what sales staff tell you. In addition to the contractual issues, the gym facilities are significantly dated. The equipment is visibly old and the premises are in desperate need of modernization and upgrading.

Negative experience: Great swimming pool and large gym with plenty of space to work out, lots of classes. Sadly the hygiene is not up to standard, the mould and black all over the showers the out dated changing rooms, the pool has no jacuzzis and no steam room to use now, Al are shut. Whole place needs a jet wash to clear the mould and revamp of the changing rooms to bring it up to the now.

Negative experience: I purchased a DAY pass from this gym for £10.00. My plan was to do a short morning workout and a short evening workout. I was told after the purchase that even though it is a DAY pass (a day is 24 hours, or 1 business day which is core business hours), I can only enter and exit the gym ONE TIME, after which the pass expires. I think that when you spend £10.00 to workout for the DAY, you should be allowed to workout for the DAY. Why call it a DAY pass? Maybe they should call it a "1 workout pass."

Negative experience: It was my first time going to this gym with my bf and I wore a flexible dress. After some time the person that let me in “Hannah” an older lady with red hair, told me that I can’t wear a dress and there’s a dress code that I need to put on sports wear and if I have nothing else we need to leave and after looking at my phone she mentions i can’t record. I would’ve left if my bf didn’t ask to see this in the terms and conditions, she said she’d go down and find it. After around 10 minutes one of her colleagues comes to us and asked us to not to record unless we ask permission. We said that we won’t and asked about the “dress code” and told us they didn’t have one. And we almost got kicked out because of her. P.s this was in Cambridge

Positive experience: They closed the spas to save money, and the pool seems colder than it used to be. Good gym equipment upstairs though. Tne steam room has been closed for at least a year. Pool today 24C. Perhaps they intend to convert it into an ice rink?

Negative experience: Booked the free day pass to try out gym, however on reaching we were told its at the gym’s discretion to allow entry as we didn’t ‘check-in’ 24-hour before. It’s £10/ day pass, honestly not worth it. Pool is too cold, no sauna, steam room out of order. Gym equipments not in usable condition or just out of order generally.

Negative experience: Used to be a great place. Recent Manager i think his name was Scott was the best they ever had but has left when I asked recently, and now they have a cabbage trying to run the place from a recent promotion. What a joke of a place it is now. It is become filthy, manager she is rude, and has no idea about standards!!! Everlast what are you doing here??? Re hire and bring the standards back.

Negative experience: The staff are nice and friendly , unfortunately the centre consistently fallen below the standards I was led to expect. • The swimming pool water has consistently been very cold and certainly not at the 28°C I was advised. • The swimming pool itself does not appear clean, which raises serious concerns about hygiene and maintenance. • The steam room has not been available at all since I joined. • Today female members, including myself, were directed to use the men’s changing room, which I found wholly unacceptable. I even felt compelled to take photographs as the conditions were unhygienic and inappropriate. • The changing room areas, including the marble flooring in the entrance , were dirty and poorly maintained. The floor was so unclean that I had to keep my shoes on rather than walk barefoot. • The shower gel dispensers were empty. It is also worth noting that when the site was previously DW, the standards were far higher. At that time, there was a jacuzzi, the steam room was always available, and while cleaning was not perfect, it was far more acceptable than the current situation.

Negative experience: I'm moving to the area and needed a new gym. So when I came to meet my new client I thought I'd check out a new gym aswell. I'm not fussy I can work out with pretty much whatever space so I googled gyms and the first one I found was Everlast. I looked on their site and it said free trial I thought oh lovely that'll do nicely for the day to check it out and inevitably get a membership when I move down to Cambridge however I got a call that morning and they said I can't go for the free trial that day because they needed 24 hours notice regardless of the fact that the email said "take this pass to reception for your free trail" .... 24 hours notice for what ?? I couldn't tell you so I sacked it off and paid for a day pass at RP fitness round the corner very straight forward and decent gym. If I was you I'd go there to avoid the Mickey mouse gym nonsense!

Fantastic experience: My son and I have had a membership with Everlast Cambridge for around 3 months. I have been to a variety of gyms before but this is my son's first membership. I am very impressed by this gym, particularly the staff. The gym is rarely over crowed and even when it's busy I have never struggled to get on what I need. The pool is great and I havent experienced it being too busy. The changing rooms and showers have always been clean and good quality. We pay for the champion membership which gives us guest passes and money off clothes etc, we have taken advantage of both. The gym has a very welcoming feel to it. My son (17) feels confident enough to go by himself now. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. Areas of improvement: The sauna etc hasn't worked since I started, I am not too concerned as the monthly price is low for a gym with these facilities, but it would be nice to have. There is one young male worker who unfortunately let's the team down. No issues when I am there but certainly doesn't treat my son with the same welcoming respect when he comes by himself, can be rude and unhelpful. Despite him being a quiet, polite gym user. Guessing he is assuming that a teenage boy might cause trouble, unfortunate stereotype which he should bare in mind when supporting all customers.

Positive experience: The pool here has always been a highlight for me personally, and is still really great - clean and not crowded. And the steam room was the other great thing about this place which convinced me to join years ago - while it was always unreliable and out of action every so often, it was usually fixed within a week or so when this was DW gym. Not so anymore. Everlast /Frasers Group - you really, really need to pull your finger out. The steam room at the Cambridge gym has been out of action for well over a year now, and I'm guessing that - like me - a lot of members are pretty cheesed off about it. Sort it out, or stop bullshitting members that its going to be fixed 'soon'. Apart from the fact that we're all paying for a facility that's supposed to work but doesnt, it's extremely unfair on your staff on the ground - they're given no information to pass on, and they're the people who are going to get it in the neck on site. The staff here are all friendly and great and its absolutely not their fault the place is under-invested and the owners - Fraser's Group - obviously dont give one. Sure, the price of monthly/yearly membership here is still pretty good value compared to places like Nuffield and David Lloyd but it still feels pretty frustrating to know that things could be so much better here, like they were before.

Showers now all working and well maintained, gym itself have few new workout machines! A lot cleaning and sanitizing stations around! Give 4* coz think spa zone could be more improved too

Negative experience: Spamming on a daily basis by calling and text messages, trying to get me on a membership after I got a free day pass to try. Showing "No Caller ID" making it impossible to block. Making impossible options to choose from in their contact form so I can't even get my contact details deleted. Extremely frustrating experience.

My gran's 50 year old sofa is in better condition than the barbell pad Back ext isn't adjustable- only made for giants + there's an annoying diagonal bar in the way at the front so you can't really curl round App doesn't track visits which is a bit annoying

Negative experience: Great location, nice swimming pool, but the biggest downside is the manager of this place. A very unpleasant person whose attitude toward customers really harms the reputation of the facility. She refused to let me onto the premises for a few minutes to help my 6-year-old child change, while my partner was in the pool with our other child. Even though the central office replied that the local manager has the authority to allow this, and I showed her the email, it was still a big issue for her to let me on the premises for a few minutes to help my child change. Additionally, when my children attended swimming lessons with Elite Swimming Academy at the same pool, it was actually the parents' responsibility to wait for their children on-site or help them change. In short, a complete lack of professionalism on the part of the manager. It's a shame because it could be a really great place, but the lack of basic problem-solving skills has made me completely turn away from this place.

Fantastic experience: Great when all its sytems are operational. Now and then repair and revamp but certain areas off limits or unusable. As the beehives shutting down in a year most buisness in this retail park are probaly not consdiering reinvestment in modernisation.

Negative experience: It is impossible to end the contract. I mailed the manager that I want to discontinue, they don't do it. Even I paid on time they say payment pending. Never got the free month for recommending a friend who joined. Manager lied that we don't do it even when showed on app. Now they say I have debt. This is bullshit. Puregym or the gym group far better

Negative experience: Great staff, great location, great people who work out there. Always friendly even after goes on into third hands or so. However coast cutting, or what!? While losing landslide membership!? It seems they(the management /investors) do have no more care, it's matter of time one day, we'll find the place has shut down for goods!

Negative experience: I came into this gym mainly for the steam room and jacuzzi, only to see that it was closed and will be for the foreseeable future. (Although they say they are still fixing it- from reviews this has been going on for nearly a year.) I emailed to cancel my membership, but was met with refusal as they are still “fixing” it, whilst still advertising it on their website as a feature. HIGHLY UNETHICAL. I highly warn against joining this gym due to their misleading practices.

Negative experience: Decent enough equipment and workout space. Staff are generally helpful. However, equipment often broken and left unrepaired for weeks, air conditioning not working, poor senior management who run the gym appallingly. If these are rectified it could be an excellent gym

Negative experience: This could be a great gym but it seems to be run on a shoestring. Staff and trainers are a nice team, I guess their hands are tied. Jacuzzis have gone, steam room out now for 12 weeks with no comms. or sign of repair, showers and equipment need TLC. The pool is the redeeming feature. Hard to recommend overall at present.

Negative experience: After being a member here for nearly 10 years I have to say the change in staff has not been a positive one. The staff have no understanding of an issue or a solution of any sort. I had an issue with my app today and they simply refused to let me in to the gym. This is disgraceful and very unprofessional. Although My details are on the system they refused to check me in manually. They were happy to resend my account details (even though I repeatedly said I have an issue with my phone) but were unable to help me in entering the gym. I later found out they let someone in without the app... If you are looking for a gym with friendly and considerate staff, then look elsewhere!

Negative experience: showers a number are broken... you have to press the button every 6 secs. .the temperature is hit and miss Steam room ..present state.. not working and when its is its only half power.. little heat and less steam jacuzzi x2 both out of order and have been for a long while .. pool .. small .. and usually cold... was once the go to gym... the Staff are good pleasant helpful. But can only do what they are told.. at present not a gym to join..

Negative experience: I have been member of this gym for many years, it used to be lovely at a decent price, with Jacuzzis, steam room and pool. Now its slowy falling apart. FIRST the 2 Jacuzzis are now permanently CLOSED (I found out this after weeks over weeks of them being closed) bare in mind NOBODY NOTIFIED THE CUSTOMERS, AND THE PRICE DIDNT CHANGE. SECOND the steam Room now it's been off for 2 WEEKS, (AND ITS NOT THE FIRST TIME) nobody notified the customers and of course NO COMPENSATION. I plan my days on how long I would be for a full session with steam room, to then GET THERE AND FIND OUT ITS SHUT AGAIN, NO NOTIFICATION, NO EMAILS, NOTHING. I asked the staff how long this is going to be shut for and the answer is " I DONT KNOW". 3 The Gym it's not cleaned properly, the shower are dirty, no soap, the steam room (when it works of course) have never been so dirty. The equipment it's old. They should have more consideration and respect on their customers, at least notify when something doesn't work. Their price it's still higher than many other places in Cambridge, but it's basically becoming a scam due to the facilities always shut.

Negative experience: So it had been a few months since moving and leaving the gym. Heard they had some new equipment, was in the area and requested a free day pass. This was emailed to me so went along to see what changes if any had been made and possible rejoin. On my arrival, I was refused the day pass and had to pay £10 to use the facility. Only after I had finished training, was I sent an email offering £5 for the 1st month and half price for the next 2. Clearly feeling mugged off, tried calling the gym but it appears the employees are either deaf or unfamiliar with the protocol of phone calls. To add insult to injury, no additional equipment had been added. All I observed was that a couple of the machines had been moved and relocated to a different spot. Needless to say, highly unimpressed and disappointed I wasn’t offered this deal when I arrived……especially being a former member for quite sometime

Negative experience: It was like a sauna because air conditions weren’t working. also the wardrobes were very dirty! I think they should spend money to improve it! Anyway I have cancelled my membership. If they get any better I might come back but definitely not in these condition.

Negative experience: The jaccuzi is broken but the main problem is there is NO air conditioning in the gym it's complete madness, I had to leave the gym as I over heated from working out in there during the summer time. Aircon has been broken for months aswell, no aircon in a gym should be illegal

Negative experience: Overpriced budget gym. Equipment is old and falling apart, the jacuzzi's are turned off to save money, same with the aircon in the gym, which is replaced with portable fans and leaving the emergency doors open. It gets warm quickly. There is no reduce in fee's either to compensate. Looking for a new gym.

Positive experience: Good gym with different equipment, and access to the app. Swimming pool looks good but lots of sand at the bottom. Jacuzzi doesn't work, I am member for almost year, but I never could use it. Steam room very neglected and should be repaired. I never seen anybody to clean steam room, or pool. Classes available at different days and time and they are really good! I was always capable to find something suitable. This is huge advantage! I signed contract with availablity to jacuzzi and access for kids but after 2 months they change roules. Most of the staff friendly, just some of them moody. Free parking available. 2 stars off for a not best hygiene standards.

Negative experience: One of the worst gym I have ever been too!!! The Air conditioner is not working from past 2 months, when asked they tend to say they are working on it. Not at all recommended gym to everyone out there

Negative experience: This gym remaining open with no hygiene, is a mystery to me. This got to be the filthiest gym I’ve ever been to, changing room floor has never seen a mop, or bleach. It is completely abandoned, you could die at the sauna and no one would notice. Jacuzzis always broken, gym equipment broken and unsafe. Swimming pool way too cold. One day, a man came into the ladies changing rooms and a member of the staff saw it and didn’t say anything.

Negative experience: Rude staff,unprofessional front of house staff, I'm leaving this gym me and my two son's,I do not know who recruits these rude staff??? I would NOT recommend this gym to no one! Go elsewhere!!!

Negative experience: Appalling service used to be nice and clean but now it's dirty and changing rooms are disgusting it looks they haven't cleaned it for weeks and Some workers at reception can be very rude. I would not recommend at all I'm looking for another gym.

Positive experience: Haven't used the pool but it looks good, the water is clean and clear and it is long and spacious allowing a lot of people to swim at the same time. The gym is good as well. They have a good collection of technogym and hamerstrength equipment which feel good to use.

Negative experience: Gym is falling apart. Dirty showers no soap, soap containers recently removed from showers , steam room tails dis replaced, roof ceiling dirty full of mould. Jackuzis permanently closed. Existing members guest passes scrapped.

Negative experience: As an avid gym-goer, I was excited to try out Everlast Gyms Cambridge, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The lack of cleanliness was appalling and severely detracted from the overall atmosphere of the facility. Upon entering, I immediately noticed a musty odor lingering in the air, indicating a neglectful approach to hygiene. The gym equipment appeared visibly dirty, with sweat stains and grime accumulating on various surfaces. It was evident that proper sanitization protocols were not being followed, raising concerns about the transmission of germs and bacteria. The restroom facilities were no better, with unkempt floors and overflowing trash bins. It was clear that thorough cleaning and maintenance were not a priority for the establishment. Additionally, the lack of available cleaning supplies for patrons to use only exacerbated the issue. Furthermore, the staff seemed indifferent to the cleanliness concerns raised by myself and other members, showing a lack of accountability and commitment to customer satisfaction. Overall, my experience at Everlast Gyms Cambridge was marred by the pervasive lack of cleanliness, leaving me deeply disappointed and unwilling to return.

Fantastic experience: I wasn't expecting much from a chain gym, used it a few times while my gym was closed, 1 week later I joined as a full time member, surely that says it all.

Fantastic experience: It’s one of the best gym in Cambridge. Nice big gym with all the essentials. Facilities are clean and there are plenty of class and PT options at the gym at an affordable price.There is plenty of bike and car parking available if you need it. I enjoy going there and the Manager Scott, Dan, Joe are super friendly and kind and make sure you’re okay! :)

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, staff is super friendly. Very quiet during school times in the week. Amazing changing facilities and gym equipment. The pool is a must!
