Our comment from FitFit UK about Splashpoint Leisure Centre:

Splashpoint Leisure Centre in Worthing is a modern and impressive facility offering a variety of activities for the entire family. The reception staff, particularly Ursula, are frequently praised for their helpfulness, ensuring a positive experience for visitors. The leisure pool features fun amenities, such as slides and a pirate ship, great for younger children. Many families appreciate the cleanliness of the areas they encounter, including the lockers and individual changing rooms.

However, there is substantial feedback concerning the online booking system, described as "archaic" and too complicated, causing frustration among guests. The cleanliness of changing rooms and some facilities has also been brought into question, with calls for better maintenance and regular deep cleaning. Additionally, visitors have reported issues with noise levels in the spa and overcrowding during peak times, particularly during weekends and family sessions.

Despite some negative aspects, the centre is considered a valuable community asset, offering excellent swimming lessons for kids, friendly staff, and a beautiful location by the sea. Overall, it remains a popular choice for families looking for fun and fitness, with room for improvement in customer service and facility maintenance.

Splashpoint Leisure Centre: Opinions

Fantastic experience: Another great experience with the reception staff at Splash Point last week. After I forgot my son’s goggles poolside, Ursula was extremely helpful in locating them and returning them to us ahead of his next lesson. Thank you so much! The swim teachers who have taught my son have also been excellent.

Negative experience: The pool is great. Go there all the time. The online booking however. Please, for the love of all that is holy, sort out your terrible, terrible, mind bending, archaic, ridiculously/laughably complicated online booking process. It always takes an age. If I do manage to negotiate it I never really know what/how I have done it. Also tried the app, which then asks you the same questions. I work for the NHS and I thought our IT systems were terrible, but this is something else. Just want to book my kids in for an hour in a pool, not a trip on the ISS!! Also, does anyone ever ever pick up the phone in reception?!!

Positive experience: I really enjoy swimming at Splashpoint as I think its a great pool, but my feedback would be on the cleanliness and upkeep upkeep of the changing room area. It could do with some tlc including a good deep clean. Also I wish they'd enforce the no hair washing at the poolside showers as I can always taste shampoo in the pool!

Fantastic experience: I dropped into Splashpoint Leisure Centre recently, and it’s a seriously impressive bit of modern architecture right on the Worthing seafront. With its copper-clad peaks and huge glass walls, it looks more like a high-end art gallery than your typical municipal pool. The swimming facilities are the main event here. You’ve got a proper six-lane competition pool for the serious swimmers, but the "leisure" side is where the fun happens. The indoor flume is a hit, and the walk-in beach area is perfect for families with little ones. My personal favourite, though, is the outdoor paddling pool—on a sunny day, sitting there with the sea breeze coming off the English Channel is absolute bliss. The gym and studios are top-tier as well, with loads of natural light, so you don't feel like you're working out in a basement. It can get a bit "hectic" during the weekend family slots, and the changing rooms can be a bit of a mission to navigate when it's busy, but the overall vibe is clean, bright, and energetic. It’s a fantastic community asset that makes a rainy day in Worthing a lot more bearable.

Negative experience: Awful experience, the facilities are awful and the leisure centre is filled with teenagers being silly and rude. Staff dont care about their jobs they care more about their social lives. Gym equipment is always out of use and stuff gets stolen from the changing rooms. Not recommended

luke Thompson 2 months ago

Negative experience: For such an expensive gym I’d expect it to at least be clean. There was mud on the floor, broken and squeaky machines, equipment dumped everywhere, and tattered benches.I payed for a day pass but didn’t even stay to finish my workout because everything I needed couldn’t be used. There was far too much cardio machines and not enough weights. (Twice as many cardio spots than weight spots) People were having to double up on racks and wait for each other to finish and yet the cardio equipment had a couple of people on while the rest was empty. Not a good workout. Kinda want my £11.50 back.

Negative experience: As a pensioner, I thought I'd book a fun swimming session for myself, my partner and three grandchildren. The on-line booking system has to be the worst I've ever encountered. It's taken almost two hours to wade through multiple questions, in order to create an account, including what is my ethnicity, and country of residence. I don't want to create an account, I just wanted to book and pay! I gave up after 45 mins and thought I'd phone, which would be far easier, but nobody answers the phone. So I had to try all the options available until I eventually succeeded. That's two hours of my life that I'll never get back, why make it so difficult? When I got to the reception to book in, I questioned why they never answered the phone and complained about how difficult it was to book the session. Instead of being sympathetic, the receptionist went all defensive and said they wouldn’t answer the phone if there was a customer present. She went on to say that it must have been my fault and also everyone else uses a phone app to book in. Unbelievable!

Negative experience: The inability of reception to ever answer the phone drives me insane. “All staff are currently on the phone” for over an hour? Really? I have quite specific questions that can be answered by a person. Every time I’ve ever tried to get through no one ever answers. Whoever is the manager needs to sort this out.

Fantastic experience: I went to splashpoint for the first time today to do Aqua and swimming. I was so impressed with the helpfulness of the reception staff at 11-30. The area that I saw was really clean. Good lockers and good sized individual changing room. Aqua was really good with nice friendly people taking part. I will become a member. Also a nice friendly cafe for coffee afterwards.

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed about the noise levels inside the spa at splashpoint. This is an ongoing issue every day, where nothing is done to help manage the insanely loud noise levels inside there. There is often loud swearing and a disrespectful volume of noise constantly made by men in the sauna and steam rooms which echoes all around the spa. The spa is supposed to be a nice relaxing environment, and I’m finding that it’s the opposite to be honest.

Negative experience: My family and I love the pools, I only wish the lifeguards were more attentive and actually enforced the rules consistently. On multiple times one of my young has narrowly been missed by older children bombing! I feel like it's only a matter of time before someone lands one one of them! I have also seen teenagers lining up floating pads and trying to run across them which is unbelievably dangerous, not only to other swimmers but to themselves. Also people stacking 3 or more floaters, sometimes they'll get whistled other times not. When the guards do blow their whistle and get ignored they just look the other way. Which they have done twice before when my daughter swallowed a load of water and was throwing up on the side of the pool, even when my wife was waving at them to get their attention, they loked every which way but towards us. It's a shame because it's the cleanest, and best maintained pool in the Brighton/Worthing area

Fantastic experience: An excellent leisure centre. Choose your staff member carefully and you will get both freindly and professional service. Some of the Reception staff and trainers make it a joy to be there. Sadly, the equipment and staffing levels are showing signs of inevitable financial cutbacks - not the fault of the staff of course. SDL's investors might want to think of this when they receive their next dividend. However, if you are disabled and dependent on the lift, - beware. It frequently breaks down and takes weeks to repair. A management statement of outrage with the maintenance company would go a long way. Quibbles aside, Splashpoint enriches Worthing lives.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback Kevin.
We are delighted to hear that you find Splashpoint Leisure Centre to be an excellent Leisure Centre and it is wonderful to know that many of our reception team members and trainers help make your visits enjoyable through their friendly and professional service.

We also appreciate your comments regarding equipment, staffing levels and the challenges faced when the lift is out of service. We understand how essential reliable access is, particularly for disabled users and we recognise the frustration caused when repairs take longer than expected.
Your feedback on this has been shared with our senior team so that it can be reviewed as part of our ongoing work with our maintenance providers.

Thank you again for your thoughtful review and for acknowledging the positive impact Splashpoint Leisure Centre has on the Worthing community. Your insights are valued and help us continue improving the experience for all visitors.

Fantastic experience: Lovely warm pool for little ones with pirate ship and lots of small water features. Perfect for the under 1s (and over I imagine). Sept 2025: Update five years later. Still lovely but the pool was freezing cold today. Haven't been since the first time though so could be a one off.

Negative experience: I think Splashpoint are brilliant for swimming lessons for kids. And diving lessons. Just a small detail which means a lot, which takes 3 stars away from an otherwise great pool, is that unlike other organisations who take the time to show they care about the children's achievements, the fact they just hand over a blank certificate they can't be bothered to not only fill the child's name in but also the examiner doesnt even bother signing it so the certificate means absolutely zilch. I think splashpoint if you could at least be bothered to get the Teachers to sign the certificates they might actually mean something? All my daughters other clubs the teachers take the time to sign. And it does mean a lot to the child. Surely each day that is certificate day the Teachers could just sign the examiner signature section at least? Especially being I have to also pay £3.95 for the privilege of getting one. Devil is in the detail and this is a significant one.

Splashpoint Leisure Centre
Splashpoint Leisure Centre

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback and for your kind comments about our swimming and diving lessons for children at Splashpoint Leisure Centre.

We appreciate you highlighting the importance of certificates being personally completed and signed by the teacher or examiner. Recognition of a child’s achievements is a special moment and the details you have mentioned clearly mean a great deal to them and to their families.

Your comments have been shared with our swim management team so that we can review our current process for certificates, including how they are completed and presented.

Negative experience: Went with two kids on an inflate session day, extremely crowded in both pools. Multiple people doing down the slide at once in incorrect positions and lifeguards spoke to them 1/5 of the time. Lifeguards in the inflatable section told off most of the kids (some of them not even in the wrong) but overall good experience for what it was worth but would go to larger splash parks in the future.

Splashpoint Leisure Centre
Splashpoint Leisure Centre

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that your overall experience was positive; however, we appreciate you raising your concerns about crowding during the inflatable session and the consistency of supervision around the slide and inflatable area.

Safety and enjoyment are equally important to us, and your comments highlight areas where we can improve. We will share your feedback with our management and lifeguarding teams so they can review staffing levels, supervision approaches, and session management to help ensure a safer and more consistent experience for all visitors.

Thank you again for your comments, and we hope we may welcome you back in the future.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it helps us identify areas for improvement.

Fantastic experience: Haven't been swimming for a number of years but I have recently had to have a Hernia operation that needed a larger incision than normal (5" scar). So Swimming & a Sauna is a massive part of my rehab & later on some Gym work will also be a benefit. Swimming, Sauna & Gym, all in one handy place at Worthing Splashpoint Leisure Centre! Wonderful new building with three separate area's for Swimming. 1 fun family friendly pool with a waterside & other fun stuff, 2 a Lanes pool unfortunately not Olympic Length but plenty long enough to make me feel that only 10 lengths was plenty long enough in my current condition, 3 diving pool that makes me wish for years gone by. All the pools are very well attended by multiple Lifeguards, who were all very attentive & switched on. I could see that each of the Lifeguards had their duty posts rotated at good short intervals which is very reassuring & shows they really know what they are doing. The Sauna is off away from the family pool & is Heavenly & a real treat. I haven't seen the Gym yet that's aways down the road for me at the moment. I can't say that the website you'll be directed to is great, it's not. The two bookings I've made so far went wrong. What is great is the staff at the reception desk, incredibly helpful & managed to sort out the kinks with my bookings with ease. A super helpful lady Joe really helped. I will be popping along to see Louisa, a member of the Splashpoint membership team to discuss my best membership options. While I've only been there twice since my operation I know that the Swimming & Sauna have really helped, easier to move & less pain.

Negative experience: Appears to be becoming like the Lido. Changing rooms with broken locks and worn baby changing tables, toilets with broken flashers, lockers with broken key bands so can't put on arm or leg and keys cabled tied to them. Children's water buckets that's tip stuck open and tiles behind slide dirty. Reported a few a couple of times, once to reception and to pool life guards cleaning changing rooms yet weeks later nothing addressed. Hopefully it's due maintenance and doesn't fall into dis repair like prior ownership.

Negative experience: £9.10 for a swim!? who can afford that? Prices are an absolute joke! Where is the evening lane swimming for adults?? Only one evening during the week because of kids half term Half term and school holidays are unbearable - barely any space for adult lane swimming and the space that is there is unusable - kids just left to crash into adults wanting to do lane swimming.

Negative experience: The swimming pool changing rooms and cafe area were absolutely filthy. All of the hair dryers were out of order as was the basin in one of the cafe toilets.

Harley Wilson 9 months ago

Negative experience: Louisa on the upstairs front desk of the gym is extremely officious and authoritarian and makes it very clear that she is the boss, considering this is a tax payer funded facility and the members are paying her wages, I hope her attitude will change in the future! The light and space itself is great, although some of the facilities could be maintained better.

sian jones 10 months ago

Negative experience: Why is the "music" so loud and actually invasive, at Splashpoint? It appears (no, it does) get exponentially louder from time I enter. When 96% of gym-users in gym have their OWN listening devices, this can't be a request by above for louder, intrusive noise. Also means people there are SHOUTING AT EACH OTHER TO BE HEARD!!! . Lastly, the noise drowns out the podcasts I am trying to listen to. Been using this gym for 17 years. Have never been so disillusioned. And that's not even mentioning all the other faults here.

Blake Cornwall 10 months ago

Negative experience: The leisure pool is extremely small and really shallow. The shape is also really unusual which makes it very awkward. Won't be coming back especially considering the price. The £10 we paid didn't even include access to the sauna or other facilities. The changing rooms and showers were not very clean either. Maybe a good option for very young children and beginner swimmers.

Fantastic experience: I came for my first adult lane swimming today. The receptionist was very helpful, helping me chose goggles and explaining the way things work. The main pool was not too busy and well organised. I hope to go regularly.

Negative experience: Great facilities but extremely poor customer service, seriously concerning manner how they treat and deal with children and members to be honest. Julia in particular had a absolutely vile manner of talking to my son and myself today and worst is when her line manager came over (Josh) I raised my concerns and she even had a extremely sarcastic laugh infront of him. He was so useless to the point that I could see why the staff acts they way they do because clearly the management is untrained in dealing with their staff accordingly infront of clients. Would strongly recommend some kind of staff reshuffle as you can clearly see the ones that do not want to be there or have no experience in dealing customer. unprofessional and frankly pathetic customer service

Scott White 1 year ago

Negative experience: I've been a member here for several years and regularly take my daughter swimming, but the experience has gone downhill. The pool is overcrowded beyond reason—people book in advance (maximum capacity is 50), but then swimming lesson groups pile into the leisure pool, along with spa users and lane swimmers. By 9 AM, it’s a chaotic mess. If you want a decent swim, you have to come at 8 AM; any later, and it’s unbearable. The changing rooms are hit or miss—sometimes clean, sometimes covered in mud. The showers are just as unpredictable: if you’re lucky enough to find one available, I've had more cold showers than hot, and often they're not very clean. Overall, the place feels neglected and poorly managed.

emma scott 1 year ago

Positive experience: I've lived in Worthing since 2018 and today (9/2/25) is the first time I've set foot in Splashpoint. I was nervous as there are so many terrible reviews online and having recently made the mistake of visiting the luxurious (but extortionate) David Lloyd pool I was keeping my expectations of my local public pool low. I went for the 7am slot and I have to say my experience was great. I'd made a mistake with booking and the receptionist was lovely, helpful and efficient at giving me a refund. The changing rooms and poolside were spotless. Showers could be a little warmer. Pool water temperature was fine for slow lane swimming. I did my 30 mins and got out. All in all it was just what I needed. It's busy at that time but not annoyingly so. It was starting to fill up with kids even as I left at 8am and I can imagine when it's in full family swing later today it will be the chlorinated version of hell in there (luckily my family swim days are over). My only niggle (in a Victor Meldrew way as it's not specific to Splashpoint) are the 'swimmers' who swim a length then spend 15 minutes at the end of the lane chatting to their friends! Perhaps they could chat in the non-lane bit where there's more room?? So if you're looking for a good place to do an early morning swim I highly recommend it. Oh and you need a 10p piece for the lockers - that you don't get back - which is just silly (though you can take your own padlock).

Positive experience: This pool is great for an early morning swim with the kids before work. However £8.75 for what for me is less than an hour is a lot. More pricing options would be great! Also for that hourly rate I would expect the family changing rooms to be cleaner. All three were in dire need of a deep clean this morning. The free 2 hour parking is a nice addition though. Negative experience: I come here swimming with my baby and toddler often. Had a rude receptionist today and she insisted I SHOW her my daughters buoyancy aids before I swam today. So I had to rifle through my bags at the check in desk with 2 children. Going swimming with 2 kids on your own is stressful enough and I've never had to do this before - very intrusive. The water was freezing today and the changing facilities were dirty. Will be taking my children to swim elsewhere from now on.

Negative experience: Have messaged and filled out an enquiry form re: being charged incorrectly for not coming to classes, when I had. My app didn’t work and the receptionist said she would let me in and register me. Obviously didn’t happen, as they have now barred me from booking anything unless I pay a penalty. I’m not doing that due to your own incompetence. Even messaged your bot. Still nothing. Negative experience: Spa experience wasn't as expected, what is the most annoying is that , they start cleaning the changing rooms and swimming area before closing time, when people are taking shower and getting ready. This is insane, how they leave hazardous situations around, it's shocking how they're so careless about their customers if they slip on a soupy floor, or trip over the hose which is left everywhere in most dangerous hazardous way!!!!!!!! When I was drying my hair a staff came exactly where I was to wash the floor literally next to me and splashing water on me , this is unbelievably careless and inconsiderate!!! I'm cancelling my membership for this poor customer care ... I'm done!

Negative experience: This venue is so poorly run. 1. Reception NEVER answer the phone. One day, I rang 46 times. I then rang the member joining line, which was, suprise suprise, answered immediately! I asked this chap to get the manager to ring me back, which she did a daylater. I told her about the issue. Nothing has changed. Phones in reception are still NEVER ANSWERED!!! 2. It's filthy. Floors, changing rooms, toilets. 3. The pools are absolutely freezing. My little 2 year old granddaughter had blue lips and arms, where she was so cold. We left after 20 mins. £17 for the pleasure. 4. The lifeguards are not watching what's going on. My older grandsons were on the diving boards. Other kids were jumping whilst one was still in the water be neath. DANGEROUS. 5. Diving boards advertised on website as open, but rarely are. 6. Overcrowded. This place is an utter shambles. I think it is now privately owned, and clearly the heating bills are more than they want to pay, hence the Icelandic temperatures. This place needs to hVe a complete overhaul, but have no faith this will happen. Will be taking our money and family elsewhere.

Negative experience: £17 for 2 adults to swim in a 1.2m pool thats not even long enough to swim in with people constantly being in the way, life guards dont even pay any attention, hygiene is awful, nowhere to swim freely lockers are ruined as the wristband that has the key half of them cant be tightened on your wrist as children have broken them or adults. Will not be coming back especially not for £17 for 2 adults and you cant even swim freely and the pool for adults to swim still not be deep enough even toddlers can stand in there ! Terrible place!

Positive experience: This place has so much potential. The toddler/kids leisure pool is great with 4 slides and a splash area. However, I have been here twice this year and the pool is always freezing. Far too cold for babies and toddlers. I had hoped on my second visit that it would have been warmer but it was not and we ended up getting out after 30 minutes due to my little girl shivering. Nice warm changing rooms and showers but I won't be returning unless the water temperature increases dramatically.

Fantastic experience: A lovely leisure centre, staffed by helpful, happy people. My two young boys have been learning to swim here for over two years, I find the facilities clean and well thought out. The membership is great value for money and the on site cafe is reasonable and offers all manner of healthy and cheeky delights. I can't can't speak for the gym as I've never used it. There are signs of wear; cracked tiles and broken lockers aren't uncommon but it's not bad enough to warrant knocking off a star. They also keep the pools a little on the cooler side but you get used to it pretty quickly.

Negative experience: Still very dirty and not safe. Machines are dangerous. Do not let your kids go as machines have already caused injury yet are not repaired. Really badly run. A very costly development with lots of staff, more than customers from what I've seen yet nobody answers the phone, emails, Facebook enquires and the only response I could get through the owning company they just didn't know when the pool was open and didn't know about pool depth. So after weeks trying to find stuff out I did meet one nice guy who works there who let me know the pool does change depth from 1.5m to 1.2m at differing times during the day. Think early morning and late evening is deeper times. It does not have varying depth like most pools. The swim times published are not the actual times general people can swim as there is swimming lessons in term time. This is why I have not been able to book afternoon swims. Some afternoons the pool is not open at all. I did manage to get in the pool today. Noticed there was rubbish left on the floor in the changing rooms when I came in and when I left. Did not see anyone clean. May not be covid safe as you have to open doors that everyone touches and its busy due to lots of staff more than anything

Splashpoint Leisure Centre
Splashpoint Leisure Centre

I'm sorry to hear of your negative experience when visiting Splashpoint Leisure Centre. Staffing levels are monitored accordingly to different session times and activities to assist customers in busier periods, clean down touchpoints and stay on top of the cleaning to make our customers feel safe and welcome. Certain doors are required to stay closed to keep temperatures regulated in areas such as the Fitness Suite and pool halls where more hand sanitations stations have been installed.

The Pool depth timetable is located on the website and available at Reception for customers to swim at a time of preference to swim in their desired depth of water. We do offer term time and half term programmes that differ as well as ongoing reactive changes to Covid Restrictions.

Please do feel free to speak to a manager on your next visit if you feel any improvements to our service can be made.

Negative experience: Filthy, filthy, filthy... The management of the whole place including the gym, the pool and the sauna/steam is shockingly awful. Changing rooms are filthy and full of litter. The floors are very dirty. There seems to be a lot of staff doing nothing, certainly not keeping hygiene up to standard. Nobody seems to care. It is such a shame as it has such a potential to be a great place for the community. Instead tax payers and members' money is being wasted.

Positive experience: Decent swimming pool, wish the main pool got gradually deeper though as its a fixed depth of 1.2m throughout. Only the dive pool goes deeper, but you can't swim around in that (it's only used for diving). No diving into the main pool is allowed but kids were constantly doing it and parents nor lifeguards were saying anything. Might return but would only do so during the week to avoid the kids running wild

Shannon 1 year ago

Negative experience: The lifeguards don't seem to pay much attention. The slide is a total disaster. Children unattended just flying down it on the knees multiple children at a time. We have swimming lessons here and attend also once a week. To be kicked in the back because children cannot wait. It's really unfair and ruining it for other children. Why are they not being spoken to?

Jon Hardcastle 1 year ago

Negative experience: It would be impossible for our experience to have been any worse. The staff are/were utterly useless. Rammed beyond capacity as they closed the other pool. Older kids fighting, running around the edge playing football, cannonballing in. Staff did nothing. Infact they complained more when someone splashed them. Whistle twice then! Parents with kids were cowering wherever the hoodlums weren't. It was just insane, stressful and the kids were genuinely scared to move.

Marta Tyler 1 year ago

Negative experience: Facilities are full of potential, but the water in the pool is way too cold to be able to relax and enjoy the experience. I really hope this will change in the near future, otherwise we won't be coming back.

balenostyling 1 year ago

Positive experience: Parking up is the biggest issue and what doesn't help is all the parking spaces directly outside the front of the building have been reserved till Dec 2024 for the trustees of the pool. So not really in the interest of serving the community. Once you have managed to find a space and arrived having missed 10 minutes of your slot, the lockers are either 10p which you don't get back or bring your own padlock. Reception does have spare padlocks which they will sell for £5.99 Also it was very busy, you couldn't swim, standing and floating only. If you were to stretch out you will definitely contact another swimming pool user. Only 1 'proper' which can get busy. There are a few other slides but they're about the height of a small child (about 1m. In length total).

Negative experience: Awful customer service and website. Unable to find details of inflatable sessions over the school holidays. After choosing many phone options the system cuts you off if reception do not answer so you have to start again and hope to get thro. The website is not user friendly. Unable to book any tickets as I previously had a holiday membership which is not now running so this prevents me using the App to book anything, I cannot even book and pay for a session as it thinks I have a membership that I've not paid for when it was only for a limited time but I cannot get this reset either as I keep getting purposefully disconnected. How can an organisation. Get their systems so wrong!!!

john kelly 1 year ago

Negative experience: Price going up, service going down. I used the gym regularly for 8 months and I’ve now terminated my membership. The gym is full of kids, unsupervised and 3 or 4 to a machine. Bags and coats around the gym floor, resistance machine handles strewn around, trap bar always blocking the fire exit. Showers are consistently dirty, the water is rarely warm and any any one time there’s some thing broken in the toilets (last week 1 toilet, 1 sink, 1 hand dryer). The hand sanitizer in the corridor has been empty for weeks. Great effort on environmental issues but if you can’t manage the basics then it’s no good waving a green flag if no one is there to see it. Compared with Lancing Manor, this place is a shambles.

Em K 1 year ago

Negative experience: Absolutely vile. The place is getting so run-down so quickly. It is very dirty with people leaving their trash and hygiene waste all over the changing room area. People even eat snacks in the changing rooms - and staff do nothing. Since they reduced opening hours, it has become impossible to find a time for an adult lane swim, as all Splashpoint does it cater for families with children. There is no opportunity to swim when it’s quieter after work, as most evenings there are no slots at all. Avoid.

Charlotte Hill 2 years ago

Negative experience: Today was absolutely freezing in both pools! Far too cold for anyone let alone young children. We paid for the fun session /inflatable/boards. We turned up with excited children and boards were closed until 12.30 , no inflatable and only a few mats slung In the water! Also, they cut half the main pool off for lane swimming so everyone was on top of one another. Quite a disappointing visit.

Kathleen Baldwin 2 years ago

Negative experience: Staff didnt offer to show me around (was my first time) seemed blunt. Half pool is rammed with a class was so loud, the other half were public lanes were so busy like 8 people in 1 lane and going clockwise so you have half a lane to swim in? Changing rooms were filthy can see the dirt built up on floor £8 was a waste in my opinion

Douglas Hammond 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Enjoyable place to go with kids - have been coming here pretty much since it opened any time we're in Worthing.

Danny Passey 2 years ago

Negative experience: Confusing when trying to book a family swim, because the time table references another swimming pool, which is not comparable. Also the overall design of the building seems focused more on artistic design than practical function (e.g. high vaulted ceilings, 1 slide, no pool side seating, no warm pool for babies and toddlers).

Davide 2 years ago

Negative experience: I've just been to this swimming venue. The venue and pools are nice enough to score a 4 or 5 star review. But the management, safety and hygiene are shockingly awful. Changing rooms filthy, the cubicles full of litter and one had a used nappy on the floor. It says a lot about the dirty people that use it too. But the floors were very dirty, the policy of not having outside shoes in the changing areas is ignored by many people and staff too. The "lifeguards" essentially seemed like teenagers earning holiday money. Not especially attentive and gave the impression of not really caring..evidenced by the slide which was basically not supervised by anyone and children and teenagers firing themselves down it in groups of three and before the previous slider had even reached the bottom. Highly dangerous practice. Won't be going again. The Triangle Burgess Hill is better managed by far...suggest people go there if they want to stay out of hospital. I'm not even expecting a response by the company to this review...at best I expect a "we'll take a look" and nothing to change since these kind of issues are critical of people in high places and they won't start the changes needed to make good facility, great. Shame

Charane Armatey 2 years ago

Negative experience: Used to use this place when living in Worthing, accepted it’s a bit on the expensive side but was worth it because it’s the cleanest pool from Brighton to goring. However there had been one or two problems with staff being unhelpful and even a little rude if you don’t know all the details. Came back today and was disappointing. partner and I paid for use in gym swim and sauna unaware that the pool would be closing before we had a chance to get in. If we’d informed we would have adjusted our timing or not gotten tickets, and we mention before purchase that we haven’t been here in a while and that things seemed a bit different, so there was an opportunity to tell us about any changes or details to our visit a regular night not be aware of. Ended up being £10.50 each for us to use the gym for 40 minutes so we spoke to staff about it.whilst they were professional sounding, their policy was no refund and we were given a ‘not my problem’ kind of energy. Experience was quite upsetting but you live and learn.

Positive experience: My wife, a frequent user of the swimming pool along with many others, has a need to dry her hair after swimming, long hair currently being much the fashion for women. At one time from my own experience there was something like at least 6 hairdryers available to use, no longer, there is only ONE functioning effectively. Apparently a notice indicating a H & S problem was put up some few months ago when many were removed. Nothing has been done since, ONE hairdryer to serve the entire custom of Splashpoint isn't acceptable.

Will Hammond 2 years ago

Negative experience: Attended in the Half-Term holidays with my kids. Expected it to be more busy naturally. We arrived in good time but it took us over 40 minutes to find a parking space due to the Centre only having about 6 spaces. Then the public car park next to it was also full. Poor Council planning there. In the venue (we were now late and they don’t offer a refund), the staff member on reception offered us a later slot which was kind. She’s the only reason this isn’t 1 star. The changing rooms are vile. Insufficient cubicles and dirty. Went in the children’s pool which is quite fun but the amount of teenagers running around, throwing balls and being rough made my small children very nervous. I won’t be bringing them back. There’s a Leisure Centre in Burgess Hill (yes, it’s a drive) but you can park, the facilities are great and it’s clean. Go there, no SplashPoint!

Jo Cole 2 years ago

Negative experience: Great facilities but impossible to park as parking is shared with the beach and the park. I just cancelled my membership because of this! Only one star as what's the point if I can't park!

Positive experience: Very nice swimming pool with diving boards. Boards not open all the time. So when you book to swim. Check the boards are open. Good kids pool with a slide and and things for little ones to play with. Nice little cafe in reception. Does lovely milk shakes.

Ricky Clark 2 years ago

Negative experience: For the second time in a month the pool was not open on a Sunday at 7 because a member of staff was again late. No apology given and everyone waiting including staff and swimmers standing outside. Can the management create a system that involves a back up member of staff with a contingency plan. This is unacceptable especially for £8.50 a swim.

N kohan 2 years ago

Negative experience: In the sauna, loud individuals constantly using profanities disrupt the relaxing atmosphere, making it challenging to unwind. The showers are consistently cold, and the swimming pools are always crowded. On the bright side, I do enjoy their classes.

Sam Bishop 2 years ago

Negative experience: At time of writing this an adult wanting to take a child swimming will cost over £13! This is simply too expensive and for such a small pool. Splash point will also charge you for using their lockers.

BearFamily Email 2 years ago

Negative experience: If your wanting to relax and use the sauna don’t. The sauna wasn’t even busy par 3 other people but the entire time these people just sat there having a very loud conversation despite the signs saying be quiet. I paid £10 as a guest to use the sauna and wouldn’t go back. Asked to speak to the manager Josh and he was pretty useless. Just said we’ve got signs and theres nothing else I can do about it. No refund offered or a free entry for the waste of time / money. Just an unpleasant experience as a whole and left feeling even more stressed than before.

Positive experience: We've been three times over the last year and each time it has been more filthy than the last. Hairs and fluff absolutely everywhere in the changing rooms, I felt pretty icky after today's visit. I know most public pools get a fair bit of that but it seemed particularly bad today. We also came away with more than usual red and stinging eyes, and our son had two coughing fits in the water which felt particularly strongly chlorinated. Also the pirate ship and the water features near it weren't working which was a shame. But these are all fixable points and we did have a nice time so I hope today was a one off and when we come back next time, it will be improved again!

Positive experience: We're on holiday in the area so first time here, really beautiful clean pool with plenty of fun on offer for the kids with the floats and slide. Life guards friendly,we know from personal experience what a difficult job this is so we always are very thankful. Reception were really kind and helpful to. We had a bite to eat at the café next to reception after our swim, staff friendly but the food was quite limited for the prices, sorry, maybe it's just us but jacket potatoes and rolls without any kind of salad or crisp garnish just all looked a bit odd and bare plonked on the plates, the kids packed lunch box was just a jam sandwich that came out a bit late (sorry maybe they were busy as we all got our food at different times), crisps and juice, very basic, no fruit or carrot or cucumber sticks included which would have been alot better. Lovely coffee and hot chocolate though.

Positive experience: I went with a friend who has disabilities. Phone and welcome staff were great, friendly, caring and funny. Facilities were adequate- 1x changing places and 1x disabled. Both with shower/ toilet. Neither with a shower curtain. This makes it difficult for 2 as neither should be seen naked. Although the changing places had a free standing screen. 3 pools; only 2 open. Disabled parking is a long way from the entrance desk. To be blunt too far.

Fantastic experience: But wooden ceiling inside swimming pool has drop on the floor. So need to update ceiling and cleaning out the dirts. By the way love it for whole activities xx
