Fantastic experience: Latte was really tasty with a caramel note. The other half had a filter coffee which I tried and that was also lovely. Only small feedback is a member of staff kept catching myself and partner as she walked past us whilst we were waiting inline and that was a bit annoying. Appreciate it is a bit narrow between the counter and the seats/tables because of how it is arranged but saying excuse me would be fine.

Positive experience: Love the space this place has both inside and out. The inside sofas are very comfy and it’s a very relaxed vibe. Love the location tucked away like a hidden gem. I ordered a matcha and cappuccino with a chocolate croissant as they don’t serve food everyday. Only gave 4 stars because the customer service was basic and could be improved, like acknowledging customers when they enter/leave and trying to smile or look happy at least. Will definitely come back and will over look the service.

Negative experience: I visited a few weeks ago and unfortunately didn’t have the best experience… We ordered French toast and Shakshuka, yet the first dish consisted of undercooked, basically raw inside brioche with gummy structure. When we mentioned it to the barista he said that the chef is new and did not even apologise. He just took the plate and went away… Very disappointing.

Positive experience: The setting is very nice with a terrace overlooking the wandle river, and our drinks were good. The granola however was very average and overly sweet. Also, they have a buzzer system so you go and collect your order, which can be tricky if you have to carry various items back and forth. Would be nicer to just have table service.

Fantastic experience: This is hands down my favourite coffee spot. I come here regularly and it never disappoints. The coffee is absolutely amazing, rich, smooth, and consistently perfect every time. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel more like a guest in their home than a customer. There’s always great music playing in the background, just the right vibe, not too loud, not too quiet. The atmosphere is so cozy and relaxed, I often find myself staying longer than I planned. It genuinely feels like a second home. Plus, the Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, which makes it a perfect place to work or unwind with your laptop. If you’re looking for a spot that serves great coffee with a side of kindness and comfort, this is it.

Fantastic experience: They have a vegan red velvet cake, which hits the spot! Friendly service. Also often on Too Good to Go, so great to see that they do their bit to minimise on waste.

Positive experience: Always want to support local business but I’m afraid I wasn’t a fan of M.E.D. There isn’t service (you go to the cashier to order stuff and then pick them up). We paid £36 for 2 coffees and 2 eggs Benedict’s. So that’s a bit expensive. The place is very cluttered. Nothing really fit together, which is an aesthetic in itself I guess. Food was okay, but not that great. The buns were not toasted. Eggs were overcooked for my partner. The hollandaise was too acidic. Not a bad place, just needs some work.

Negative experience: Always keen to support small businesses but this was all a bit confusing. Perhaps a reply may shed some light so I can change my review? Completely empty for the duration of my visit, but wasn’t (initially) allowed a drink-in cup due to “staff having to wash up as it gets busy”. Also a bizarre 5p surcharge (not mentioned anywhere) was added to my drink. I had to fetch the drink myself - not a huge thing, but when you’ve had two slightly grating customer moments, surely, as the only customer, you’d want to serve them their drink?

Positive experience: Located on the bank of the River Wandle in a former early 20th.Century textile dying/manufacturing facility - a spacious sunlit space with outside seating overlooking the river. Despite the no-frills and sparse interior there’s still a residual quotient of originality and a relaxed ambiance. “Light bites”, sandwiches, smoothies and brunch terrain without deviating from the tried, tested and the obvious: you’re unlikely to be disappointed. Service friendly and efficient. I’d come back.

Fantastic experience: Good location in the heart of Merton Abbey Mills, the music and atmopshere is great, and there's both inside and outside seating which is great on a sunny day. The coffee is fantastic and it's a decent environment to do a bit of work on the laptop with the WiFi provided. Staff are friendly.

Positive experience: I really like this place- the only independent place nearby and such a great space. Some really simple changes could make this place excellent. The toilets are always dirty and there has been a broken toilet seat for weeks. The outside just needs a bit of a refresh- but overall it’s a great relaxing place with nice staff :)

Fantastic experience: This is such a cute hidden gem! Staff are so warm and welcoming. I love how great they are with kids and dogs. They make us feel like family. Their food and hot drinks are so good! Other cafe’s the coffee sometimes tastes bad. This one has never failed. I also love the events and extra activities that they run thought the year. We love MED Cafe.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful coffee shop with delicious pastries and lovely staff. They offer some vegetarian, vegan and gf sweets. The shop is kid-friendly and it even has some toys and books for them to play with, if you have a pet, it is pet-friendly too! Coffee is good and the drinks menu is very varied.

Negative experience: Terrible cafe, awful coffee. No customer service, tables not cleared or wiped. Place was empty, service was slow. Not kid friendly. Not enough seats or tables. Been here 3 times but always terrible

Negative experience: Visited on a Friday early afternoon , 2 weeks ago. Despite being almost empty, it took quite a bit to be served. When I finally managed to order my coffee, I was charged £4.05 for a small almond cappuccino. When questioned, the barista replied "The prices have gone up, but I haven't updated the board yet". No apologies, no refund offered. This place got more experience that other speciality coffee shops serving way better coffeee. Shame, as it is such a nice place in a great location. Management really needs to work on their service.

Positive experience: A rather nice and interesting café with friendly staff working to 'make a go of things' and build a business. The coffee and cakes are very good, and our group of cyclists enjoyed our visit today.

Negative experience: Food is better at home, and inconsistent day to day. Service likewise is not great, and can be very poor at times. Positive is coffee is not the worst, and the location is good for locals.

Positive experience: The brunch food is ok just very average (can do better at home). The atmosphere is nice by the river. When I visited the staff seemed overwhelmed and it was a mess, tables weren’t cleared, getting orders wrong. Prob best for takeaway coffee but not eat in.

Negative experience: Not bad but badly let down by their obvious attempts to scale down and purchase cheaper ingredients for maximum profit. For example, my eggs benedict was nice but it was badly let down by a very small amount of sauce with the thinnest slices of bread I have ever seen on a plate (menu said that it would come with english muffin). My partner was also not impressed by the size of her omelette. Customer service was non-existent. Didn't asked if we were okay, no hello, no bye and staff struggled to explain the menu. Definitely won't be coming back, feels like I wasted my money and time coming here. A pretty boring experience with equally boring food

Negative experience: Felt very unwelcome, staff didn’t even acknowledge me standing waiting to order, I said hi and got ignored by two members of staff, when I eventually ordered she was unfriendly and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her and got my order wrong even though I payed extra for what I originally wanted. I was having a lovely day so didn’t want to be in a mood killing place any longer so didn't say anything. Such a shame as I have just moved to the area and thought this could be my local, lovely space in a beautiful location ruined by bad staff and the sandwich was disappointing too, brown slither of avocado and the mozzarella had started turning hard and yellow on the edges, I think maybe I picked up something made a previous day. I hope this place makes some changes because it could be so lovely!

Positive experience: Sadly this once lovely coffee shop has gone really down hill. The coffee is variable depending on who the barista is, some do not know the difference between a flat white and a cortado. We ordered brunch of avo and toast and eggs royale. The eggs royale was delivered promptly and looked and tasted nice. However, a long wait for the avo + toast ... Which arrived after my husband has finished his breakfast. It was both completely cold and the poached eggs were completely undercooked with raw egg white in the middle. Having waited so long to receive the dish, we just had to ask for a refund. This used to be one of my favourite places to go... Sadly not now.

Negative experience: I've tried this place twice and no one acknowledged me at the till and I just walked out in the end very odd experience. My partner went in today and had the same experience. No customer service skills. Happy to wait if they acknowledged your presence/asked to take a seat etc. 1 star for food as no plant-based options! It's a shame because we're local and the place looks nice.

Negative experience: Visited in a quiet Wednesday (around midday) with my grandparents. Went up to order and told they had stopped food for a month, without any notice of this on their website or any signs in the cafe. Menus were still out on tables so this was very deceiving. We all picked the only other option we had baguettes. They were nice enough and asked for a knife to cut them and share. Was handed a dirty cake knife. Ordered some drinks alongside our food, was giving them in a takeaway cup even though I made it very clear I was dining in. When taking my order, I was asked to wait twice when I was the only person waiting to order. All round frustrating experience, won’t be going back. It’s a shame because it’s in a good location right by the river and a really good building with nice interior.

Positive experience: Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good coffee. Unfortunately can’t give a better review as there are no vegan food options at all, which is really disappointing as almost all other cafes and restaurants have at least one option. Would love to see this in future!

Positive experience: Was a lovely cozy venue and the food was good and it's dog friendly. However chose it because the website said it could do plant based options and nothing on the menu was vegan. Ask what they could make vegan and their was no option.

Negative experience: I took my daughter and her friend for a late breakfast as we had been before and loved it. After waiting about 30 minutes for our food, my toast turned up. It was two slices of sliced bread spread with jam. It cost £4.95. I wanted to complain but waited for the pancakes. They arrived and looked nothing like the ones we had before. Nor did they look like pancakes. They were approximately 7cm in diameter, flat and anaemic looking. They cost £9.95. Again I wanted to complain but my daughter got upset and didn’t want me to make a fuss. After we’d finished I did go and complain. The staff were very kind and looked embarrassed about the state of the food. I was given a refund for the toast but I’m still unhappy about the pancakes. I’m hoping my experience was a one off. I feel completely ripped off.

Positive experience: It’s a bit of a gamble with coffee. It used to be very good, but recently it became very average and sometimes quite bad, which is a shame. The atmosphere, food and cakes are great.

Positive experience: I went twice - once for brunch with friends, another time for coffee. The first time food was pleasant and coffees and cocktails good. The other time coffee was much worse. The same goes for the team - it seems a bit of a lottery whether you encounter someone smiley and social or not. Nothing to fault them on other than the inconsistency. Hopefully things will get better and more consistent over time as Merton Abbey Mills really need a nice coffee shop.

Negative experience: Edit: the manager came to me when I was about to leave asked me if I asked for vegan and If I left this review. I said yes and I repited to her what I said here, she said "if this happend talk to the manager", and walk a way to talk to the staff with no apologies or explanation for their false advertising

Negative experience: After many tries to contact them I am yet to get a reply to my emails. I wanted to ask if I can have my baby shower there as I can see that the café offers a nice atmosphere and plenty of space for a small gathering. About a month ago I messaged them on FB but didn't get a reply which is not unusual and then I went in one day to ask on the spot. The manager Julie was not there so I was given an email. After two emails and no reply I have given up. I guess they don't want my business but I expected at least to get a reply.

Fantastic experience: Our favourite place to visit for a great cuppa coffee where we’re able to sit down and converse until we’ve realised we’ve been there for nearly 2 hours. The comfiest spot in Colliers Wood for good coffee with great friendly staff. Always recommending this spot to our friends and family who come to visit. Keep up the good work guys.

Positive experience: I really like the coffee and the environment. Staff really nice, welcoming and polite except for the tall curly guy who looks always in the mood, never smile and he looks annoyed every time I ask for a milkshake. Sometimes I even got told in a not nice way that the blender didn't work because he can't be bothered to make a milkshake (which is on the menu so I don't see the point) and I could see the two jars (for the blender) dirty in the sink. Also, I am still confused of how the loyalty card is working in MED: I usually get a stamp for each drink (coffee, hot chocolate, tea, milkshake) -like everywhere else until he decided that it's a stamp for each visit (so it doesn't matter if you buy 7 coffees or one it would be just one stamp which in my opinion it's not fair). The other girls always give me a stamp for each coffee. However, I think the coffee is good and the girls are really nice and I love the fact that they have toys for kids. My son loves it. I live really close to the cafe, but I am now going when I see that the guy is not there because I don't like his attitude and the way he makes the coffee. If it wasn't for that I would have given 5 stars.

Negative experience: I have been here before a couple of times to drink and would give a 2-3 star at best. Today I was just passing this place and staff were by the door opening up so I thought I’d asked politely if they were open yet. I received a surly, delayed and confused response from the guy like i was asking the most difficult question in the world! Fair enough they are not open until 8am but it’s not unreasonable to think a cafe might be open at 7.15 as most open at 6-7am, however this is Merton abbey mills!

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for a while and what differentiates this cafe from other cafes are the staff. They have such a wonderful, inviting energy! The coffee is also good but the atmosphere is what keeps me coming back; the staff are a testament to what a local coffee place should be. I've felt comfortable enough to bring my laptop to work until they close and I can honestly say that, whether it's busy or quiet, they are working their butts off 'till the very end while being friendly and attentive. They care about what they're doing, the customers, and each other which makes for a much less sterile environment than the big franchises populating the high streets. If they can maintain the energy of staff they currently have, this place will only go from strength to strength. Bring back the meal deal, ha! Keep up the excellent work!

Negative experience: I've order 2 food bags like before . I got to the shop at 2000 and waited at the till end for 15 mins before 1 of the staff shook her finger at me and asked me to leave and was rude about it. I informed her that I was here to pick up 2 magic bags and she just walked off and ignored me and left me waiting there for another 10 mins. I will not be returning to this store as if that's how they treat paying customers then I will take my custom else where. It's a shame as they do nice cakes there.

Fantastic experience: Just stopped for a coffee and snacks for my kids. The service was great with friendly staff. Amazing coffee with vegan options, lovely decor and atmosphere with lots of indoor and outdoor space. Would be great for working as it’s quiet. It’s in a pretty spot near the river. There are lots of snack options and I would recommend it for people who are in the area and is dog friendly with dog water bowls. Overall it is lovely and we’d come back again.

Fantastic experience: Much love for M.E.D! They opened over the road from me, and thankful they did! Decent coffee was missing from my life after so much time in lockdown. Opening a pandemic is never easy, but for the last few weeks M.E.D has been a real community hub for those working from home who need a little pick me up. And for those heading off on a walk around Morden Park Hall, I recommend their hot chocolate. It's also great to see an independent around here too. Staff are really lovely, and there's a nice selection of drinks and sandwiches on offer for a cheeky little lunch break at Merton Abbey Mills. The cakes are just. Wow. Like I buy way too many because they are so good- but highly recommend the Buenno Blondies when they have those in- they are really lovely. Jaffa cake sponge was also out of this world. I usually get a latte but I'm dying to try milkshakes next.

M.E.D... got a take away there today, service was good, premises warm and friendly, with clean toilets. No Soya milk, is that the norm? Anyways I hope you prosper, I'll deffo be using M.E.D. again ...

Fantastic experience: We walked passed this regularly on the way to Morden Hall Park. Only recently I realised it was 1) a coffee shop, 2) open everyday (even Christmas Day!) We’ve been going in a few times a week, the coffee is gorgeous and they use a lovely oat milk (Oatly), crossiants have been warm/delicious and they allow dogs. We plan to stop in a few times a week to fuel us for our long dog walks. I do think they’d benefit from better signage.
