Fantastic experience: We have just been swimming for the first time here and it was great. Good facilities. The main reason for my review is the Cafe, Noreen's Recovery Cafe was fabulous. the gentlemen were honestly just lovely, my coffee came with a biscuit that my boys fought over so the gentleman who served us brought over extra biscuits and made two little boys very happy. Coffee was great also. Such friendly service, will definitely be coming back.

Positive experience: Noreens cafe is a lovely place nice food run by addicts in recovery, food is cooked by a qualified chef, not stingy on portions. Noreen Langham opened the first detox and rehabilitation centre in Burton and with the help of her Brother Kevin Langham (MPsych) Psychotherapist help is being delivered to Stoke-on-Trent.. The story is on a big pic inside the cafe. Lots of equipment to use in the gym area, pool, sauna, steamroom and dunkpool available.

Fantastic experience: Massive sports complex that ticks all the boxes. 1. Clean. 2. Well organised/reception. 3. Multiple sporting facilities.

Hanan Yassin 4 months ago

Positive experience: Its a good centre. They did have mixed gender toilets which I do not agree with so had to use the famela only toilets round the corner with my daughter. The restaurant was good.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities for teens with multiple gym and activities classes. On site Car park is pay and display and quite strict.

Eddie P 5 months ago

Negative experience: Nice sized pool, but too cold for a toddler. 15 mins and he insisted on getting out. Not worth going with young kids unless warmer pool available.

Fantastic experience: Lovely place really helpful team that work there with the heart rehab team. Amazing work they do to help people get back to a normal life.

Negative experience: Visited Fenton Manor recently, and to be frank, it was a deeply underwhelming experience. Firstly, there’s no online booking system - a serious oversight in 2025. I left a voicemail for an enquiry and waited for a response, only to be told later in person that they don’t call back unless you explicitly leave a mobile number. So after getting no reply, I had to go there in person to sort it out. It’s crazy that a business operating since 1976 can’t have an efficient phone system, let alone an online booking system that makes reserving slots and courts a seamless experience. The badminton courts were an absolute disgrace - damaged flooring, visible wear, and neglect. The photo attached speaks for itself. Not only does this raise safety concerns, but it also shows a lack of pride or investment in the facility. The whole place felt like stepping into a time capsule - outdated and neglected, with zero modernisation effort. And for that, I was charged £11 for a single badminton session on a Sunday, which felt like a rip-off given the state of the venue. Fenton Manor seriously needs to rethink its approach - both in customer service and facility maintenance. Until then, I won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: Went here to watch the charity boxing match’s I telly recommend having a vip table. The service is impressive and the view of the ring is much better than it is in the standing areas.

Fantastic experience: Clean, modern, my daughter had a blast at Aquatots. Haven't tried the canteen yet but it smelled good. Will be coming back :-D

Derek Mcgough 7 months ago

Negative experience: Round trip of 100 miles to be told the swimming wasn't available. Rating would've been zero if that was an option

S 7 months ago

Negative experience: Went their today for little to play on inflatable in pool no good for toddlers just full of teenagers so little Carnt go on as not safe plus half of swimming pool shut off and you Carnt use the little pool with toddlers waste of money all the life guards were rude if you spoke to them and when you watch them they stare inappropriately at women and young teenagers in their costumes I wouldn’t want my daughter go on her own there

Fantastic experience: Went for a swim with my friends during the long weekend. Facilities were clean and the pool had a great atmosphere. Did have a minor issue where my token for my locker fell as there was no collector under the mechanism so I had to go and purchase a new one, no big deal and the whole process was painless. Will be going again during uni term time to hopefully use their free swimming for uni student offers

simon “blue badger” redstone 9 months ago

Fantastic experience: Provides on the day price and cost effective memberships, gym is well equipped with a range of cardio or weight machines and free weights to use as well as boxing bits, the pool is well sized and utilised for lessons and public accessibility, small children have special sessions to learn. Pool availability to the public is good. Halls are spacious and well suited to events and partys

Lee Griffiths 10 months ago

Positive experience: Went for recent white collar boxing and it was a good venue.

Radu Onofrei 10 months ago

Negative experience: Stoke Cossacs really needs a new 50m pool. Come on, Mr and Mrs MPs and councilors built them a new pool for performance.

Dean Eastwood 10 months ago

Nigel Halliday 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, friendly staff, good value. Used the new cafe. Friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyable breakfast and coffee served in a proper cup!! Gets my vote!

Si Johnson 11 months ago

Positive experience: Been visiting this place for most of my life. Mainly for swimming. Clean and warm changing area. The only problem is the parking. Which, I believe, is controlled by SoT Council. I arrived today for my daughter's swim lesson, making sure I had the correct change to find out none of the machines were accepting either cash or card payments. I had to download another ruddy app and create an account. Several other customers were spitting feathers for the same reason. This isn't the first time parking has been an issue there.

matt 364 11 months ago

Negative experience: If you want hypothermia from swimming, then swim here in the pool area it's self absolutely freezing cold, and the water is cold.dont think they can afford to heat the building as the lockers rooms and other areas were also cold It totally ruined it it was very busy but still cold

Jordan Hinch 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Very clean nice pool and gym noreens cafe very good

Heather Bird 1 year ago

Negative experience: Lovely pool however very cold had to get put earlier than I wanted to even swimming I ended up with cramp because of how cold it was. Looking at the board which displays the temperature this said 28 but my friend can't go at the moment because her 6 year old son got so cold. Hopefully she will come again in summer.

Kristian Brennan 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The complex but the lego/brick event sucked. It was just a sales fest with nothing to see really. It took longer to get there than time we spent there.

Moz Wright 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Was there for an indoor cricket tournament. The only downside is the payment for parking

Jana dB 1 year ago

Positive experience: Could do with a thorough refurb, but it does what it is there for. More hot showers in the pool area would be great! The members section upstairs has 7 showers for female members while pool section has 2 female showers - that’s mums with babies, swimming lessons girl pupils, and other female members of public using 2 warm showers - and today (08/12/24) 1 was broken.

MyatKaung Shan 1 year ago

Negative experience: Rude staff. No way to complaint. Threatening to continue payment even if no desire to continue membership due to rude staff. Forcing me to pay even after I stop going there for 2 months.

Fantastic experience: We went to watch robot wars with my sons it was good. Good facilities.

kenneth hackett 1 year ago

Positive experience: Went here for boxing again.great night with my grandson winning 2 fights. I like this venue as it's run well and not to much waiting in between fights.

Scott Dutton 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The kids love a swim there, but is cold this time of year.

Sarah Staples 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: We went to a robot wars event here at the weekend it was well organised and had a lovely café. But the car parking is a pain you have to download an app to park.

Billy Read 1 year ago

Negative experience: Toddlers swimming pool was cold unfortunately. Also no heating outside the pools which means we were shivering as soon as we stepped out the pool, and the fact the toddler’s pool was farthest away from the showers meant we had to walk shivering and soaking wet all the way past the adult pool to the showers. It’s a shame that staff keep pool heating to a bare minimum to save money, despite raising admission prices over the years not to mention taking in a tidy profit from their car park charges.

Hughead 1 year ago

Positive experience: One squash court and it’s well in need of some love. Unfortunately it’s really dusty and the line markings are faded

STEVE t 1 year ago

Positive experience: Seating badly worn and the parking is ridiculous. Pay and display car park with up to 3hrs £1.50 over 3hrs £9.00. Where is the sense in this.

Dan Phillips 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great venue for RobotLive The main arena worked really well Car park pricing could do with a bit of work

matt wilson 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Swim, gym, spa, courts and pitches for £35pm. Magic and really no comparison at that price. Special mention to Michael who looks after the gents beautifully in Shapes.

Kenneth Garry Phillips 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym at Shapes, not too crowded with helpful staff, great value especially for the over 60s, afternoons are usually quieter.

Jim Rambling Man 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: No-one there, was a ghost town for Badmo, good facilities, parkings £1.50 though which is spicey, still mustn't grumble......

susanne newton 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Clean pool and changing area . Parking good but red machines took money and I didn’t receive ticket , so use card machine . ( money was refunded at sports centre ) overall good experience

Duncan 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: There is lots to do here, gym and swimming etc. They do swimming lessons and events. Big car park, but you do have to pay its not free.

michelle atkins 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Took 2 grandchildren we all had a lovely time. The lifeguards were friendly and helpful.Had lunch in the cafe after very nice and reasonable prices

Joanne Carpenter 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Attended for a family swim during school holidays. Really friendly staff and nice updated venue. Clean changing rooms with lots of private changing and family rooms, excellent facilities for those with disabilities including SEND swimming sessions and free swimming lessons for children 6+ during the holidays. Didn't use the gym or sports hall but plan to view the gym as monthly membership includes free pool use for 1 adult and 1 child. Great value and can include other sites for just a little more.

Grace Christopher 1 year ago

Negative experience: Incredibly poor experience. The facilities are adequate at best but the prices are extortionate and they drained your money at every single interaction. Booked a tennis court with my friends - it was 12 pound for a badminton court that they lowered the net on to "make it a tennis court", so not even a full size tennis court. Then to borrow tennis rackets you have to pay a sizeable deposit that you only get half of back even if everything is returned in perfect condition. And the final straw was having to pay parking as well to park in an overcrowded car park where you had to avoid crashing into a dance group practicing there as the facilities themselves were massively over crowded. In total it cost 20 quid to rent one "tennis court" for an hour and I left feeling incredibly scammed.

Aimee Clarke 1 year ago

Positive experience: Attend for swimming lessons, the swimming lessons are fab, teacher Joe is great however the place needs a complete refurb. The changing rooms stink of urine, the sinks and toilet areas are filthy with dust and grime. There is too many members of staff on reception chatting to each other when we go in and same when we come out, talking while serving you, absolutely no customer service. 1 staff member's problem seems to affect all members of staff on the reception creating a staff discussion including the member of staff who is dealing with yourself, seems unprofessional to me. Needs more family changing rooms. Pools are great and clean.

Ibraheem Muhammad 1 year ago

Positive experience: Good Badminton courts. A bit pricey though if you're not a regular member.

Niki Richards 1 year ago

Negative experience: Second time I've been here for a competition. Not a venue I like. It's just a bit run down. The stands in the sports hall are filthy. The car park has no one way system and is tight if you've got a bigger car. There are two contactless machines but they're very slow. Otherwise it's cash.

Ian Wallace 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Staff really helpful and friendly. Loads of parking. Great day at the ICE cheer event.

Pete Tucker 1 year ago

Positive experience: Went here for Acro Gymnastics National competitions. Downside was the queue for the coffee shop/cafe. 3 people trying to serve hot food, drinks and take money. Must have lost a lot of trade with people not prepared to join a long queue!

Lindsey Bell 1 year ago

Positive experience: We attended for a large event and it felt like the catering was a bit under prepared which is a shame as I'm sure that they could have made a lot of money from the spectators. The venue is large, a bit tired fine, the tiered seating was pretty comfortable, the toilets were remarkably clean and could handle the large event which was impressive. The staff were friendly and inconspicuous, parking is plentiful although the rates are a bit strange.

Phoebe Ripard 1 year ago

Negative experience: Absolute disgrace of getting in waited 3 hours in the line the cafe line was massive only 1 staff member working. Dirty everywhere it stunk everywhere flies coming left right and centre. Worst of all we couldn’t hardly hear our music it was very quiet which made some people mess up. Not happy at all.

Kate Jones 1 year ago

Negative experience: Unsafe. Lane wasn’t wide enough for swimmers and with only one lane available, there were fast, medium and slow swimmers all shoved together. I got slapped twice (accidentally) by other swimmers because they couldn’t pass me safely. This was in less than 15 minutes. The small pool was closed so they had the family swim next to us. Lots of toys going into the lane and having to swim round kids who swam in to collect them. To top it all off, they charge £1.50 for a locker token and only refund £1 on return. Alright for families who can share a locker, but not individuals who will have to supplement every time. Why not just put the swim price up? Adult only swims are either super early or super late. I have given 2 stars because although I had a bad experience, I just think the entire place is catered for families. If you are a family, you might like it.

A J 1 year ago

Positive experience: Need urgent refurbishment. Most of the areas are old, moulded, and cracked. The male shower room feels unhygienic, and there are moulds on the walls and ceilings. However, it's OK to use.

Penney Bell 1 year ago

Positive experience: Disappointed that the cafe was rarely open during the Gymnastics event. A missed opportunity to make some money when you have a 'capti e' audience

Christabel Hayter 1 year ago

Positive experience: Attended for an Athletics event across 2 sports halls. Good facilities, toilets were good enough. Car park was OK but would benefit from an upgrade, and better signage. Long queues at the ticket machines, a clear notice that you can buy a car park ticket at Reception would be beneficial.

Trantp 1 year ago

Positive experience: Need serious refurbishment and windows need a good clean. Staff lovely and suits us for ad hoc swimming. Update Jan 2023 - still the same but reduced hours. How long will it take for a refurb lol!! Must check the website turned up today and there is a different timetable for Easter so couldn't swim!! I suggest everyone checks as this is the second time we have called and things have changed!! Update 10th April 2024 Still waiting for a refurb but in these times I suppose we should be grateful it is even open!! Sadly there are some ill behaved youngsters about whose main aim is to spoil it for everyone else. Difficult to deal with, but staff need to deal with it to allow the majority to enjoy a leisure swim. However, we are regulars here and it suits our needs for ad hoc swimming at reasonable prices (except for the parking fees of £1.50, Thank you Stoke council)

Mark williams 1 year ago

Negative experience: Parking charges are daylight robbery, pure greed! Only two ticket machines that actually work, 20 mins stood in a queue to get a bloody ticket!!

David Richardson 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I was at a cheer leading comp. Very busy the only complaint I have was the long wait trying to leave the car park.

Cassie Stanley 1 year ago

Negative experience: The door to get in and out of the changing rooms you have to press a button and they should be censored because they hit my little sister in the head and gave her a cut, bruise and a lump.

Pete 1 year ago

Positive experience: Great facility. Staff are largely friendly and happy to help. Some of equipment etc could use a bit of an update however

Coach Cadden 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great boxing show this weekend

Emma 1 year ago

Positive experience: Good gym, classes and facilities. All instructors are brilliant! Marked down for the swim times/lane access- half the pool is always shut since Covid (if not used by swim clubs) so it’s quite cramped with different speed/abilities sharing the same lane when trying to have a good fitness swim.

Victoria Smith 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: First time taking kids swimming they loved it. Clean showers will be going again.

sebastian bujor 2 years ago

Negative experience: Very dirty place , the guy on reception by the gym entrance no manners whatsoever… def not recommended

Ian Edwards 2 years ago

Positive experience: Took 3 year old swimming on a fun session. Was disappointed there was only a float that she was to small to use, wasn't allowed any other toys in the pool. Water was really cold and she was shivering after a short time in the water, other people commented on the water temperature too. Left after half hour or so as even I was cold. Will probably stick to taking her dimensions

Nigel Steventon 2 years ago

Negative experience: Can't gat a hot drink anywhere in the building. Bar closed and no drink vending machine! After a swim and minus degrees outside I think they should have somewhere you can get a hot drink. Very rude receptionist.

Carl Sean 2 years ago

Positive experience: Used the 3G pitches. Great pitch. The goals however let it down. All nets were ripped, goals were slanted.

Paul Kielty 2 years ago

Negative experience: Really seems like a great place but two parking machines for a massive car park meant that my son and I turned up early and ended up getting into our event after it had started because of the truly colossal queue to pay for parking.

Negative experience: Went swimming earlier and everything was good staff was lovely and pool was decent although after swimming we went to the cafe and it was very bland food not the nicest but was alright for the price, at home writing this after I have just thrown up my whole meal. Fantastic experience: Great facilities. I normally go to football on a Monday evening on the astroturf which is ran pretty well. I have used the facilities inside Fenton manger a couple of times, it’s well kept and looked after I would recommend.

Terri Johnson 2 years ago

Negative experience: Took my 3 year old here today for the first time for swimming, and I won't be taking her again. The changing rooms are old and dirty and the small pool for Aquatots was disgusting, too. There was dirt all over the floor inside and outside of the pool and you have to pay £1.50 for a locker token and only get £1 back. We tried to go the cafe for food after and were told they were not doing any food as there was only 1 member of staff working. There's much better and cleaner pools within the area that I will be going to instead.

Ian Machin 2 years ago

Positive experience: Go here for gym, squash and swimming plus my kids swimming lessons. Can't daily the price per service but.... 5th start is reserved after money has been invested, needs a revamp in most areas now

ash kattell 2 years ago

Negative experience: Staff are lovely, can't fault them, but a casual swim cost me over £7. £5.10 for the swim, £1.50 to park, 50p for a locker and even 20p to use the hair dryer. It's a shame in society when you can get a McDonalds 99p hamburger, but going for a swim costs you over £7.

Kathryn Mullock 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Took my grandaugter to the toddler session on Wednesday. It was lovely. The water was warm. The male staff who was on was very encouraging when he could see she was practising what she's learnt so far from lessons, in between her fun time. There were plenty of fun things to play with. It was a very friendly experience with the other swimmers also :)

Claire Mawby 2 years ago

Positive experience: Never been before read some bad reviews but was ok reception staff were nice and explained what we had do nice clean in side lots of life guards on duty lockers 1.50 but get a pound back after parking 1.50 for the hours would go again
