We are so appreciative of their help and patient. All the staff were amazing and the waitress was very polite and looked after us well. The food was delicious and alot of choices . Negative experience: Poor hot stone massage and terrible facial. Different therapists , person doing facial didn’t even turn light on to look at skin or ask about problem areas and smelt of garlic. Second visit , won’t return

Negative experience: I'm trying to buy two Let it Snow signature Spa Day Packages for my son and daughter in law and give them as a surprise Xmas present ( like a lot of people ). This is not possible, I have to book the date now !!!! I have no idea when in January they would like to have taken it and was advised that I tell them instead of giving them something to show. Not quite the idea of a surprise present. Really shocked they haven't quite grasped the idea of a present. Ill have to go to Bannatynes instead .

Fantastic experience: Just had a lovely spa day at riverhills. The spa and facilities have been refurbished beautifully and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The two treatments I had were just lovely. A little bit of paradise on the outskirts of Ipswich. I can’t wait to go again soon.

Fantastic experience: Wow. This was my first ever massage and I went for the full body driftaway. Lucia who was my therapist was incredible. I had a touch of nervousness and anxiousness being my first time, however, I was made to feel at ease straight away and everything was explained. Never had one before? Do it.. I feel incredible!

Fantastic experience: I had a lovely visit for a manicure and pedicure. The treatment was great and the therapists very friendly. I enjoyed the relaxation rooms too. Looking forward to coming back for maybe a massage, use of the gorgeous new pool area and afternoon tea!

Fantastic experience: Had such a lovely day here (purchased a day pass). Very clean and very friendly staff. Lovely 'homely' vibe. Food was delicious with lovely restaurant staff. Gym equipment was fantastic along with the sauna, steam room and swimming pool areas, very clean and a great day out.

Negative experience: Bought my partner the spa with afternoon tea as a birthday gift. She went along with her daughter they enjoyed the use of the spa but left very disappointed with the quality of the afternoon tea dried up sandwiches and rock hard dried up scones.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff are very welcoming. The whole spa is very clean and well maintained. I felt the benefits of using the unique spa facilities. All around a very enjoyable and relaxing day. I had the drift away back massage and all about the glow facial and I was so relaxed I nearly fell asleep! I would highly recommend Riverhills.

Fantastic experience: Two friends and I thoroughly enjoyed a pre 'return to work' spa day yesterday. It was the most wonderful experience! We were so well looked after, the facilities were fabulous, the treatments were some of the best we've ever had, the food was delicious and the whole ambience of the day was absolutely perfect! It really was a 5 star day. We'll be back!

Negative experience: Visited the spa recently with my husband using a voucher from before the fire. We were also looking at taking out a membership as we have family with memberships, and family who used to work there. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the facilities are nice, except my husband is physically disabled and there are no disabled changing rooms. When I explained this on the phone prior to visiting the staff seemed put out that we wouldn't follow the official rigamarole (walk around) before using the spa, despite me being there a week before. I also had to help my husband get changed in the disabled toilet. When I asked about disabled changing facilities I was told there was none, and we could only use the toilet. Not very dignified or accessible at all really. I'm not sure why there's a disabled lift by the pool when there is no disabled facilities, as I'm sure there is only small single changing rooms in the individual changing rooms too. Seems poor planning when the whole place has just been rebuilt. Anyone with any decent sized wheelchair would not be able to fit in those tiny rooms. It's a shame as we would have liked to take out memberships, but as my husband said, he isn't going to pay £90 a month to be embarrassed!

Fantastic experience: My husband, I and some friends went foe a spa day with afternoon tea and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were all so helpful and very friendly, the treatments were fantastic, loved the outside with the sun loungers and the weather made it feel like I was on holiday. Absolutely loved the ice shower and foot spa . The changing rooms have all facilities and mega clean . Afternoon tea was amazing so much food and you should try the chips , all I can say is thank you Riverhills I can't wait to go back

Fantastic experience: What an amazing spa day we had at Riverhills. The staff were all really friendly. We were both given fluffy robes, a towel and flip flops along with the use of a locker for the day. We tried out all of the different spa rooms. They all smelt so good and we enjoyed the volcano room. The snowski shower was refreshing and we used the foot spas with the salts given to us on arrival. Our day included lunch and it was delicious. We both felt so relaxed by the end of the day. It was the perfect spa day and we will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic experience: This newly refurbished spa is wonderful. My daughter and I were warmly welcomed by Spa staff and from then on had a fabulous day. The facial treatments were incredible, with a herbal tea offered to us afterwards to enjoy in the Relaxation Room. There are so many lovely areas to enjoy, including the saunas, salty foot baths, bubbly spa baths and pool. Lunch deserves a mention; we enjoyed a very fresh, delicious meal of sea bass with crushed potatoes and seasonal veg. I highly recommend the whole experience!

Fantastic experience: The newly re-opened Riverhills Spa and health centre near Ipswich was idillic! While having a full spa day package, you get welcome health shots and consultation; robes and flipflops; pool and temperature rooms; lunch and treatment. The Temple Spa skin products they used completed the most luxurious day!!

Fantastic experience: I had the most wonderful spa day with my Mum on Friday, and it was exactly what we both needed. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was so calming and welcoming—it instantly set the tone for a truly relaxing experience. Mum had a hot stone massage and absolutely loved it. She said it melted away all the tension and worked out knots she didn’t even know she had—she’s still talking about how amazing it felt! I had a facial with Terrie, who was absolutely lovely—professional, attentive, and made me feel so comfortable. She tailored the treatment to suit my skin and I left feeling completely refreshed and glowing. It was such a special experience to share together—beautiful surroundings, kind staff, and top-notch treatments. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Fantastic experience: The mud serail was indulgent, cleansing, soothing and such fun! This was followed by hour of delicious lunch and relaxation in beauty lounge area, before heading to My Purification – A Deeply Cleansing Facial in beautiful and tranquil treatment room. I wore big fluffy robes and comfy flip flops for the duration of my stay, I left feeling uplifted, cleansed, and calm. All the staff we encountered throughout my whole Afternoon there were friendly, helpful and happy - and clearly love being a part of the Riverhills Health Club & Spa Ipswich team. Thank you

Fantastic experience: I’m not a member of Riverhills but even if you’re not, you are able to book their health and beauty spa treatments as a visitor. I had a Mud Serail Experience with an afternoon tea and back massage in January, and it was such a pleasure that I booked in for a full body massage again today. I asked for the same lovely therapist (Claire) who had given me my half hour back massage in January, so I had twice the pleasure today of her brilliant expertise at melting away any stress or tension and delivering a glorious, soothing and pampering massage which left me both relaxed and energised. The spa itself is really beautiful, elegantly decorated in muted colours and with candle light and lamps throughout - and treatment rooms that are quiet, calm and soothing with a fabulous ‘Before You’ room where you wait before your treatment, and a super comfortable ‘After’ room where you can relax, sleep, read or just chill with a hot fruit tea and a magazine. All the products used are luxurious and available to buy if you’d like to treat yourself at home. My treatment today was absolutely five star and I can highly recommend the venue, and the wonderful therapist Claire.

Fantastic experience: Excellent health club real social atmosphere. Totally new changing rooms and gym due to fire damage and renewed swimming pool and steam rooms etc coming in the spring. Has a restaurant and full Spar facilities. Please see photos of additions in the spring.

Positive experience: We shared a wonderful afternoon tea, a group of colleagues, during end of November. A warm welcome, great customer service and my shared gluten free afternoon tea was well presented and very tasty. Nice that the bread was like real bread for a change!

Positive experience: Had an afternoon tea with vouchers bought as a gift. Really tasty sandwiches, fresh and well filled. Warm mini sausage rolls and quiche. Loads of cakes, we had to take them home as too full to eat them. No-one there so atmos a bit flat but it was a Tuesday lunchtime, probably should have gone at the weekend. Nice staff, perhaps a check up to see if everything ok. Would return!

Negative experience: Both myself and my daughter had a pedicure here. All I can say is dont bother. Staff are lovely, the place is amazing but the pedicure is not worth bothering with. We ended up doing it again ourselves when we got home. They did offer to do it again but by then we had both done our feet ourselves.

Food is great and good value for money. Lots of classes to choose from. Cannot wait for the new pool etc to be opened later in 2024.

Fantastic experience: My colleagues kindly gifted me a voucher for my birthday. In the interim the spa had been the victim of a fire but they offered my friend and I a package consisting of a treatment of our choice each and an afternoon tea. My friend had a hot stone massage and I had a pregnancy massage which included the most sublime face massage. The afternoon tea was delicious (with enough to takeway!) and the staff were all lovely and in no rush to get rid of us. We had a lovely afternoon catching up and hope to visit again when the spa facilities are open. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: My friend and I had booked a spa day in June but due to a fire at Riverhills we rebooked. Due to there being no swimming pool or jacuzzi facilities, we were offered an upgrade. So our Journey into Serenity turned into a full body massage with facial which lasted 2 hours. We have been before but this was the best treatment yet. It was amazing, so relaxing and my friend and I were very impressed by our girls who did our treatments. It would've been nice to chill by the pool but really, I didn't miss that part as it was lovely in the conservatory. We had an afternoon tea as well and that was delicious. All staff were friendly and helpful. I hope we'll be able to come again next year.

Fantastic experience: Really impressed with this place, based on using the gym through personal training with Dan from DNA Personal Trainers. It's just been refurbished, all the gym kit is state of the art and brand new. It has a nice profesional vibe with more 'sophiticated' members. Staff were very relaxed and kind and just let you get on with it. Would recomend.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing spa. Felt so at ease and relaxed. The staff were 5* every single one of them. Being a larger lady I have felt uncomfortable at other spas but I did not feel that here, I’ve had problems with robes not fitting and them not being able to accommodate that which spoils the day. But here the robe was lovely, covered me and I felt relaxed and comfortable. The treatments we had between us, the mud chamber , back massage and brow reshape we could not be happier. Facilities were spotless and lovely. Lastly the food we had, scampi and chips and a prawn salad were outstanding. Such good quality, very fresh and so tasty. Would we go back? YES definitely we will be returning. Thank you riverhills for making the day amazing.

Positive experience: Very good value for a spa afternoon. We enjoyed the pool where seating around to relax is plentiful, steam rooms and sauna and good sized and clean. The changing area is spacious and well designed to provide privacy, locker space and shower facilities. Treatments are also available and there is a relaxation room upstairs which was a blissful place to chill on a lounger or egg chair. We finished our afternoon with a delicious cream tea. The only slight tarnish was the fact that staff were cleaning and reorganising the dining room (quite loudly) as we finished our meal. Otherwise a great spot; good value and excellent facilities.

Fantastic experience: I have a membership here. Love the gym which is well stocked and air conditioned. Spend a lot of time in the pool and steam rooms. I like how they have renovated the outside space with Love Island style fire pits. Don't feel out of place here as a middle aged lady either which was important to me.

Fantastic experience: I went to Riverhills with a friend for a spa day and facial treatment. Having never had a spa day I was a little nervous but the reception staff were very nice and helpful, giving us a quick tour of the spa facilities. We took our own robes and flip flops but did hire towels for £2 each. I had read reviews saying that the changing room area seems a bit tired but I didn't think it was. Plenty of easy-to-use lockers and benches, toilets and showers. The only thing I would say is that there we only 4 changing cubicles, so we had to hang around waiting for one to free up. They could with a couple more as not everyone is comfortable or confident enough go get naked in the communal area. The treatment area itself was lovely, chilled, relaxing and smelled divine. I already felt relaxed in the waiting room. The treatment room was super relaxing with calming music and again, the gorgeous aromas just made me want to sleep! The treatment itself (power breakfast facial) was amazing and the therapist (Cherise) was lovely and so friendly. I really enjoyed every second and felt truly pampered. After the treatment we settled down by the pool and just chilled, had a little swim, had a spot of lunch (sandwiches with chips - reasonable price, big portions) and had a little go in the jacuzzi - was only able to spend 10 minutes or so in there as the chlorine was quite strong and made my eyes a little sore. We didn't use the steam room/sauna as neither of us are particularly keen but we did have a look and thought the facilities looked nice. The relaxation room is lovely but there was a group of ladies in there when we got there who were all chatting and laughing and all sounded like they had bad colds, coughing and sniffing - it was hard to relax with that going on so we didn't spend as much time as we would have liked in there. Throughout the day the pool never got overcrowded and only adults, although towards the evening there was a small group of young teenage boys in the pool messing around, which spoiled the relaxing vibe for us and we decided to head off at that point. I think we may have stayed an hour or so longer if it had been adults only. All in all, apart from a couple minor gripes, I thought Riverhills was a lovely facility and I wouldn't hesitate at spending another day there. The most important thing for me was that it wasn't at all pretentious, I never felt out of place and the clientele were both men and ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes. Really nice.

Fantastic experience: Had a spa day as a present from my husband. Never had one before. It was lovely. Had a facial and back and neck massage as well as a pedicure. Had lunch which was great. A lovely and relaxing experience.

Fantastic experience: This is the first gym I've found that I actually WANT to go to, rather than with other gyms in the past I have just wanted results and tried to force myself to keep going. It's just such a different atmosphere here. It's so much more inviting than the budget busy gyms in town, and SO much cheaper than the big brand fancy gym. It's almost like a little holiday treat with all the facilities available with a membership here, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming it can feel like you're in a hotel. As well as the normal gym facilities there are exercise machines that you can log into and watch netflix on, lots of classes in the studio (including zumba for no extra fee), the pool which is small but it's enough for some lengths, the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and cute outdoor spaces for relaxing in good weather. I just think there's so much on offer here, it's really good value. I love that I can exercise as well as relax and de-stress here, which is all important to me when trying to be more healthy and motivated. I actually find going to the gym enjoyable which I've never been able to say before. I realise this sounds like I work here, but I don't, I'm just excited to share my experience of finding a gym I can love for the first time!

Fantastic experience: Had an afternoon tea/use of spa facilities and full body massage with my partner. We both had a lovely & relaxing time. Treatment girls were very nice, professional and gave us both a great massage (my hot stone massage was lush). Bar staff on afternoon lunch was a little slow on our drinks order but food was delicious cannot wait to visit again!

Positive experience: Booked an afternoon tea with an hours hot stone massage, both were lovely. Friendly staff and its had a refurb, so looking really fresh and modern. Only downside was it was so cold in all areas, even around the pool and with damp towels and robes after being in the pool, jacuzzi etc., we just couldn't get warm, lots of people were changing into clothes they'd arrived in to eat in the dining room, which doesn't make for a relaxing day.

Fantastic experience: It's always a treat to spend the day at Riverhills. My massage was amazing, I asked for firm pressure and my therapist was able to successfully work out the uncomfortable knots in my calf muscles. Lunch was 2 courses and delicious. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Similar to other comments staff not attentive, too busy chatting about their own lives to focus on customer. Robe/towel hire was surprisingling additional and not apparent on booking. Would be a nice gym but as a Spa venue it's second rate. The afternoon tea appeared OK, service not exactly with a smile. 2 hours after eating both myself and daughter experienced symptoms of food poisoning. Having both only consumed food from this venue the source was fairly conclusive. Wouldn't recommend if you were looking for a gift or spoiling someone. Disappointing to say the least...

Positive experience: Daughter and I wanted a spa day to spend a bit of much needed quality time together. Was a bit surprised that you had to hire robes, towels slippers, thought this was included in price, receptionist was a bit rude and said that I should of read it online, fair point but she could of said in a nicer manner, i could of been rude back and told her she needed the next size up on the dress she was wearing...but I'm a nice person and I didnt, we just paid the extra and enjoyed our day, the treatment was amazing, the girls were lovely. The afternoon tea was dreadful, the sandwiches were dry and crusty and the cakes tasted really synthetic, when I asked if I could get a box to take home the things we didnt eat (wanted to show my husband) the girl came out with a strip of tinfoil and said 'will that do' Hope they read these reviews and improve their services.

Positive experience: Nice spa and pool, different rooms to look around, afternoon tea was nice but not the best herbal selection. We would of had a problem if it wasn't for my friend spotting strawberries on our stand (I have a severe allergy and she had already phoned it through) but the chef and staff were very accommodating and changed it all to make sure none of the food was contaminated. They could think about adding a few more saunas on their next expansion and possibly think about turning the swimming pool heat up a bit. The new expansion is nice and clean, the gym has nice up to date equipment and no one expects any different if you walk around in a robe. The hot chocolate definitely hits the spot

Negative experience: Iv been to riverhills previously 3 times no issues, and this was the fourth and last time I will be going. It’s become much busier, and more focused on a membership basis. Phoned the day before to confirm treatment times, changes and dietary requirement whereby this was a waste of time as they hadn’t communicated any of this across and had to be repeated again on arrival. The treatment was short as I was called in 10mins late, I would say when giving a pedicure, chairs would be more suitable than laying on a couch as my foot kept slipping down. Removal of worn dirty plasters from the poolside wouldn’t go a miss either for clear hygiene infection control reasons. However, plenty of equipment to clean down touchpoints in the changing rooms. The relaxation room was upgraded and a new large car park to accommodate the extra visitors. The food was the biggest let down, with a 90min drive to the venue, I had a croissant on arrival- served dry no butter or jam offered. This was dry and stale. Light snack- hummus and warm pita bread, pitta was more like cracker bread- dry and hard, and the hummus was filled with olives, nuts and seeds mixed in which was not enjoyable. Afternoon tea- my friend requested no butter on sandwiches and no cream- we had 2 platters served however hers still came with butter and cream despite 2 requests to check this. The cakes were nice however the scones were not freshly made that day, they were hard, doughey and fell apart. Safe to say this was the worst visit I have experienced, something I ate disagreed clearly as it resulted in me having D&V that night, however the spa refused any fault when phoning out of courtesy to inform of illness, despite not eating anything else that day other than what I consumed on the premesis.

Positive experience: Went for a spa day with a friend. Treatments were lovely, all the therapists were very good and professional. Gorgeous lunch. 3 stars is because of reception staff who spent so much time loudly gossiping amongst themselves. Very disruptive and not very restful when you're trying to relax!

Positive experience: Enjoyed a spa day at Riverhills booked through buyagift. The reason 3 stars only is the afternoon tea let it down as 2 gluton free options were booked and only one was available, which resulted in illness. Manageress did apologise and just asked does this mean you maynot be well later, which indeed it did. Spoilt a nice relaxing day..

Positive experience: We had a spa day booked through buyagift. There were positives and negatives, but we are unlikely to go again. Positives - Staff were friendly, and polite, massage was pleasant and it was quite easy to get to. Negatives - we were not pre warned.about the roadworks and noise going on outside the massage room, so no chance of proper relaxing whilst the heavy equipment is breaking up the car park behind. Also we couldn't get into the swimming pool as they were having classes there. In addition to that, there is a huge amount of work going on with renovations which does detract from the overall experience unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: Have been twice now friendly clean relaxing and the afternoon tea is one of the best I've ever had

Positive experience: Lovely place, majority of staff are really friendly and happy to help with any questions etc. Really good equipment in the gym and changing rooms are well laid out with areas to change, dry hair and get ready if your going straight off to work etc. My only feedback is the cleanliness of the place, the female cleaner in the changing room did a fantastic job and it was immaculate but other days I've seen people who do a good job of looking busy but the floor area around the pool and particularly the sauna area was dirty.

Positive experience: Visited with a friend for a spa day using a voucher. We had to hire towels, robes or slippers, but this was OK as we came prepared after reading this online. Lovely pool and hot tub area at a comfortable temperature. The loungers weren’t the comfiest and there was no shampoo available in the showers, but we could have brought our own and had no problems. As for the afternoon tea included in our voucher, the cakes were a little dry, however we were thoroughly impressed with the catering for my lactose intolerant friend - a whole seperate afternoon tea! And it looked fantastic! Thank you Riverhills for a great day!

Fantastic experience: Spa day and afternoon tea with 5 friends to celebrate a 50th. A great day, lovely, friendly, helpful staff, very clean, lovely atmosphere, good coffees, nice facilities, lovely cakes etc.. ..really couldn't fault the place. Maybe just a couple of hooks in the showers!

Negative experience: Overall ok experience at the day spa. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The massage and facial was very relaxing however I noticed as the treatments were done sequentially the overall experience was cut 5/10 minutes short. Also, the facial I received was different and cheaper to what was promised when the day spa voucher was first purchased and they didn't mention this change at all, I found out on my own. The pedicure was good but they don't have chairs for you to sit in, I had to sit on a bed and raise my knees for the lady and I was wearing a short dress so it was even more awkward. Do not eat in the restaurant. Avoid at all costs.The starter of soup & bread was ok but nothing special. It all went wrong on the mains. I ordered the lamb hotpot and it came out very very burnt; my friend ordered a chicken breast burger and the chicken was very chewy and like boot leather. The chicken got bitten off in layers because of how tough it was. We barely touched our mains. No one came to check on us after they delivered the meal as I had witnessed them do with others (probably as they know how poor quality it was ) so we never got to complain. Thank god It was a gift voucher otherwise I'd be much more upset at spending roughly £13 per main.

Fantastic experience: We had an appointment booked l, and struggled to get in due to work commitments, after speaking with the team, they managed to find a work around for us to enjoy our day. We turned up and were greeted by extremely friendly staff. The facial treatment we received was top notch, myself and my wife left that part feeling extremely relaxed and fresh. On to the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool, all included in our package. After enjoying ourselves, we moved onto the our full body massage….. words can not express how good it was, wow, if we had a choice we would have stayed exactly where we were, but lunch called, so, on we went, just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, again, wow, the food was amazing. I wish we knew about this place sooner, we would have 100% been more often, unfortunately for us, another country is calling, so on with our adventures, thank you Riverhills, and the whole team for making our experience amazing!

Fantastic experience: 4 of my daughters, my husband and I all visited this spa for my birthday/mother's day. We had an amazing time. We had sandwiches, cake and drinks for tea. Food was delicious and plentiful. Staff were very friendly and polite.

Positive experience: If I were rating on value for money only I would have given 5 stars based on what I paid. I booked a spa day through buyagift for £100 for 2 people. This included a facial, back and neck massage, mini manicure for both of us and a 2 course lunch. We did get our moneys worth so to be critical feels unkind. That said, if we had paid full price I would have been disappointed. Firstly they have changed products, no longer using Germaine De Cappucini. The new products are not great. I didn't come away with the same lovely soft skin that I have done previously. Secondly the massage was not good. I asked for firm, I think the therapist got this confused with fast. Instead of a nice relaxing slow firm massage, I felt like I got a fast sweeping rub. Not dissimilar to the unenthusiastic massages I get from my other half. She didn't touch my neck at all. The facilities were good, the lunch was lovely and I did have a nice day with my friend. However I do think it's now time to try a different spa after many years using Riverhills and Clarice House before they changed name. Take away message, don't pay full price and you won't be disappointed.

Positive experience: Brilliant back massage..very clean..lovely staff with the exception of one receptionist who picked her nose while talking to me!!!! Food tasty with vegan options. Will go again.

Negative experience: Although the staff were lovely and very helpful, the maintenance could be better. Ladies shower area had lots of black mould on the ceilings. Poor water flow from the showers, many area's had poor drainage ie sauna, steamroom had puddles due to bad drainage . One of tge steam rooms outlet for steam was right under the seat, myself, and partner had to move where we were sitting as the steam was burning our calves, very bad positioning of the outlet and dangerous.
