Everlast Gyms - Bangor NI: Opinions
Positive experience: Easy for parking
Negative experience: Manager has emailed after I used the gym 2 or 3 times. Very rude in emails and is advising I am required to pay the full year as in T&C's. Not made clear to me at the time nor in the phonecall after I had cancelled direct debit. Gym was dire to say the least. Do Not Go here.
Negative experience: Not a bad Gym, its more expensive than others in the vicinity, but its biggest asset is its pool, which is great. It did have jacuzzis but those have been removed along with the TV screens that allowed you to exercise whilst watching the news. They provide lockable lockers in changing rooms for your valuables but that didn’t prevent my expensive running shoes from being stolen. I took them off to shower and in return had been stolen. I did report it to reception and there is a notice to lock up valuables The pool is used at weekends by children so if you though you’d do a few laps in the pool whilst free at the weekends this isn’t for you.
Negative experience: Dated and filthy.
Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere and fantastic staff and brilliant equipment
Positive experience: Child progressing well in the swimming lessons held on site pool
Positive experience: Love the pool and the changing facilities are always spotless. Neither of the 2 Jacuzzis were working today which is worse than normal as its usually only 1 working!! Update jacuzzis both been removed and not replaced. Steam room refurbished and is a great job now. Pool could do with a bit of an upgrade with various mirrors and lights deteriorated. Changing rooms quite dated now too compared to other centres.
Negative experience: I’ve recently joined as a member of Everlast Gym Bangor, but unfortunately, the facilities do not live up to what is advertised. The gym's website claims to offer "the latest cardio equipment," yet multiple old rusty cross trainers are faulty, with some suddenly losing resistance and jolting mid-use, which can be unsafe—especially for those with existing conditions like myself. Several machines also have built-in TV screens that no longer function. The swimming pool hygiene is also concerning, with visible sediment at the bottom and when swimming underwater it is not clear. When I inquired about membership cancellation at reception and mentioned the facilities were not as expected, the response I received—"they never are," followed by a chuckle—suggested that dissatisfaction might be a common occurrence here. Since emailing the manager they have advised I am tied into a contract and even though it is a risk to my health they want me to continue to use their facilities. For the price, I expected a well-maintained facility, but the lack of upkeep and misleading advertising have been disappointing.
Negative experience: Jacuzzis don’t work for more than a year. Steam room is in despicable condition. Swimming pool area is shabby with couple of wires just hanging out of the ceiling. In desperate need of refurbishment though management doesn’t take any actions unfortunately
Fantastic experience: Amazing gym but I was there with Chris for training which was awesome and a sports massage and it was amazing and so relaxing
Negative experience: I joined this gym mostly for the swimming pool, now it's more like any public pool as members can take kids for free, plus you lose so much for kids' lessons. They advertise full access to the pool, but don't tell you it's shared with the lessons and families
Negative experience: Nice staff + generally friendly atmosphere, particularly if you go when its mainly older retirees. The gym itself totally lacks investment - in 7 years there has been no refurbishment + despite the efforts of the staff it looks worn + tired.
Positive experience: Good gym for people who want to keep fit, but machinery and facilities are ageing, a calf raise machine has been broken for over a month now It would be good to see the gym modernise with some more racks and lifting platforms as they have the space to do so
Negative experience: don't use
Positive experience: Expensive gym and jacuzzis hardly work. Other then that, good variety of equipment and friendly staff.
Negative experience: Very good gym, well equipped and looked after. Always very clean and tidy. Staff always very pleasant to deal with. Only let downs are the WiFi signal and the pool / jacuzzi / steam room. Wifi = Sometimes barely able to listen to music due to unreliable signal. Pool = chlorine levels sometimes extreme and cause skin irritation. Jacuzzi = 90% chance of these not being on or even filled.
Fantastic experience: Great workout
Fantastic experience: incredible place, best gym i have ever joined and love how friendly everyone is!
Fantastic experience: You can watch your children on tv while they learn to swim ,adult aqua keep fit,, ,saunas steam room and 2 jacuzzi .Sun room and many extras to book like Zumba ,yoga ect.
Positive experience: Very good gym, very clean and not crowded. Only problem the WiFi, internet or phone access in the building. The spinning class are way too loud like the music is shaking the place and the spinning instructor screams at people. The music could be at reasonable volume without disturbing everybody and same for the screaming. Loud music and screaming won't make you cycle faster its a fixed bike anyway.
Fantastic experience: Husband and I called in to find out about joining. The manager Richard gave us a tour of the gym and pool. Very friendly and not pushy at all for a sale. Gym looks clean and modern. We will probably join once we move here.
Positive experience: Great places!
Fantastic experience: All good back at the gym. Good workout.Great to see a lot of my gym buddies♂️
Positive experience: Great gym.
Positive experience: Been going here for 10 months. Contract is up in 2 so will be moving on. Very busy and always cramped. I know gyms can be busy but there should be a member limit if there isn't one. Equipment is old l. Much better gyms for cheaper imo.
Fantastic experience: Regular gym-goer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Equipment has had a re-vamp and weekly classes offered. (just need to offer more "Lift" classes please but don't put them back to back days!!! ) Bruce is fantastic....Always smiling, even when he's half killing you
Fantastic experience: If you ever need a hand with anything, induction to machines or anything at all, the staff are extremely helpful
Negative experience: Gym opening hours on Google do not reflect actual opening hours. Closed at 1600 on 31/12/22 despite website showing 1800. Not good enough so off to cancel membership as this has happened previously.
Fantastic experience: Great place to work out
Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym with friendly staff
Positive experience: Very good equipment, good space. Only downside is it can get quite busy, but that happens everywhere. Very good gym.
Fantastic experience: Had a wee visit with my neighbour and really enjoyed it good facilities and helpful staff
Fantastic experience: Really good atmosphere and equipment, it never feels crowded and you can get a good workout in, no teens prancing around either which is great. Lovely steam room and water area, clean and well kept showers and changing. Staff are welcoming, helpful, friendly and not judgemental at all. Best value for money in town just wish Saturday hours were a little longer to help with fitting around work.
Negative experience: 2 year old child busting for the toilet, literally holding herself so she doesn't pee herself. Asked the staff if she can use the toilet really quickly so she doesn't have to go through the embarrassment of potty training and peeing herself in public. Staff were so horrible they just point blankly said "no, private gym", what sort of staff of ANY establishment rejects a 2 year old and letting her go through the pain of having to pee herself in public. Absolute joke.
Positive experience: Just rejoined after a very long away.. really enjoy the pool though has not changed much from DW minus the sign outside...
Positive experience: I was at the cool filly
Fantastic experience: Use this gym for the pool to build up muscles for pending knees surgery
Fantastic experience: I hope to be going in soon to see what it's like
Fantastic experience: Great gym lots of people to interact with
Fantastic experience: Lovely swim. Great staff and very clean calming place.
Positive experience: Some stepper are not working,Internet is slow..Overall its good
Positive experience: Great swimming pool
Fantastic experience: Fabulous gym-really well equipped, amazing pool and steam room. Robert Lynn is a great PT. Classes back to normal now so loads to choose from
Fantastic experience: Best gym in town
Positive experience: Good club apart from the showers! Constantly under repair.
Positive experience: A great gym. However, could do with getting back to providing more early classes and updating some of the equipment. I upgrade is needed.
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym, especially for the price! The staff are friendly and helpful. The premises are clean and well maintained and the pool area has a big steam room and 2 large hot tubs.
Positive experience: Facilities great
Negative experience: Dated and dirty , cancelled membership as just not worth the money . You would have thought with all the time in.lockdown they could have painted the walls and cleaned the showers/grout .
Fantastic experience:
