The Woods Studios

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed by my experience attending Vocal Icon’s Boot Camp. It was the behaviour of ‘The Woods Studio’ studio owner, Hannah and complicit silence of Vocal Coach Olga that bypassed any skill taught within the class. Hannah, does not know how to talk to people. I requested to speak one to one with Olga regarding being asthmatic but was declined and then broadcasted to fellow classmates that I was sick. Even though prior, I was told not to worry and that I can attend the class regardless of my sickness. Instead of actively listening, I was met with defence. I couldn’t believe the unjust treatment especially around sickness such as asthma. Instead of compassion, I was met with an attempt to belittle me for coming in to class. I was shouted at, over spoken, dismissed and asked "Don't come near us.", "Why did you come in?", as well as asking other members of the class "Does anybody want her here?". I was shouted at to "leave now" by Hannah before the class had even started. A class and service that I had paid for. There was no compassion towards me being sick. The lack of professionalism, empathy and communication skills was and is highly concerning. Also threatening to get someone to drag me out and saying “either she goes or I go” by Hannah. I am very disappointed to have experienced such behaviour that I can only describe as ableist, racist & prejudice at Vocal Icon & The Woods Studio. Especially, such unjust behaviour and microaggressions in a setting that is meant to support, empower and uplift artists. The lack of professionalism with how they conducted themselves and communication skills is shocking. I would not recommend at all. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else.
