Active Arena

Negative experience: I've booked and paid a deposit for my son's birthday party here, and have had no communication as to what is going on with the so called electrical issues. Additionally I had booked a session which was cancelled due to said electrical issues and was promised a refund but this was a month ago and have been unable to reach anyone. I have called, left voicemails, messaged on FB and Instagram and several emails. They now owe me £28 for these bookings. The least that can be done is to contact those with bookings so that they can make other arrangements. Really poor customer service.

Negative experience: They claim to have electrical issues so had to shut for the foreseeable. They cancelled my son's birthday party three days before. It was booked for this Sunday just gone. On Thursday morning I received a text message stating the party was cancelled. They have not responded to any form of communication since and have not provided a refund or any updates about refunds. I've heard from a few people that the business is closing. If correct, It is sad that a relatively new Lincolnshire business hasn't managed to succeed, but also disappointing that the company director(s) have not felt it appropriate to prioritise contacting people with future bookings/parties. It is even more concerning if bookings continue to be taken online.

Negative experience: Seems to have gone bust, not open and no replies to any messages etc. I have equipment in there which is expensive and I need to collect

Fantastic experience: Coach Joe did my son’s 8th birthday at active arena Lincoln. He entertained 20 football mad boys for an hour and a half. They all absolutely loved it and were happy and entertained the whole time. I suspect we will be having parties here for a while. Thank you coach Joe ⚽️

Fantastic experience: We recently held a joint kids birthday nerf party here, coach Joe was brilliant with the kids, he managed to entertain and control 20 kids for 90 minutes and they all thoroughly enjoyed it … thanks !

Negative experience: Dirty, no interaction from staff. Paid extra for team bibs, told to find them on the floor, unwashed, no facilities to wash the bibs

Positive experience: Had my sons birthday party here yesterday. The guy that ran our session was brilliant and gave the kids an amazing nerf party experience. The food is also good quality party food. As for the curly blond haired chap behind the bar, he was rude and although apologised after shouting me down, needs to go on a customer service course!

Positive experience: Pitch needs Sweeping and holes in the netting around the pitch lead to lost balls.

Negative experience: Used to LOVE this place yet for 9months now I have consistently got balance reminders for a pitch hire I booked and paid for. I have spoken to numerous staff members yet am told it’s a system issue that they cannot fix

Fantastic experience: Had my son’s 10th birthday here and we opted for a football and nerf party. It was run by one of the lads working here called Joe and he was fantastic! Kept the kids engaged and made it really fun. They all had a great time, would highly recommend!

Positive experience: Only just found this gem. Low price, lots to do for kids. Only downside is its cold. So will be perfect for the summer but not those cold days

Fantastic experience: Amazing little place for little people

Negative experience: Kids indoor play removed shoes in cloakroom which was fair however the floor was plain skimmed concrete so absolutely freezing on your feet also the advertised sit and watch parents area was nowhere near big enough or enough chairs for the play area. Staff were friendly concept good just quite a few little improvements needed. Coffee good and good value.

Positive experience: Went to the role play village at the Active arena, play area is lovely. Toilets in the entry area/cafe are really disgusting, not regularly cleaned.

Negative experience: Still waiting for a refund from the 14th October due to staff incompetence and lack of customer service. I managed to speak with Eauan on 22nd of October (despite sending an email and leaving a voicemail for him) who offered no apology and confirmed I had incorrectly been charged twice but continues to fail to process the refund. Absolutely appalling business!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely incredible. Perfect for our nearly 3 year old. We were so impressed, weve booked her birthday party there 10/10

Fantastic experience: We had my stepson's Nerf Birthday Party at Active Arena over the weekend. The children all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The lad that was assigned to our group was brilliant with the children (apologies, I can't remember your name!!). The other staff members couldn't have done more to make sure the day went well. The food was lovely, a lot better than what we were expecting. The party room was already decorated which saved me a job! They even brought a speaker in for us to play music on. Thanks again for making it so memorable for him. We're coming back next year, apparently! :)

Fantastic experience: A great venue! We've been to Active many times, for many different reasons and activities since it opened. My husband has played football for the sponsored Active Arena team and they always put food on for the team after their football games on Sundays. I've taken my daughter to PlayArena SO many times as she absolutely loves it!! She now attends Kixx at the weekends & the coaches are fantastic, she's only 2 and they make it so much fun for the little ones. The parties they host for children are also amazing, we've been to a couple now and they decorate the room so lovely, the food for the kids are graze boxes with a huge variety of options inside! The staff are all great with the children and the adults as well, friendly and approachable! There's a lovely outside seating area out the back, such a great beer garden ideal if you want to let the kids play whilst you sit and supervise with a drink in the sunshine on a nice day! They also hold a few different classes on certain days of the week, I used to attend the mummy & baby fitness class when my daughter was younger and loved it! Free parking, easy to get too, can't recommend enough

Positive experience: Fantastic nerf party here for my son's 7th birthday this evening. Alex was great with the children and they loved the nerf war. Plenty of variety of games to keep them entertained throughout. Lovely food and plenty of it. Fab venue, and extra special for all children to receive a certificate and medal.

Negative experience: I would like to share my experience with poor service that my kid is receiving from there. It is already 4th week that my kid didn't had training (that is paid ad membership) due to what I believe- lack of interest of coach and his team. 5 weeks ago coach decided that he can't go ahead with only 3 kids on sesi9n therefore he asked if we could change training days to get bigger group of kids . I have agreed and give contact details to coach however small group was fine for me as my kid is only 5. Following that what coach said I was waiting for contact to change training days but no-one called or emailed, soI tried to contact mobile number that contacted myself previously and no response to call or text, after that I tried to contact through their website just to hear that my kid should get his training in his normal days. After going back to club in training day his coach as not present and someone else give us access and contacted coach who said that he is in hospital:). In total it is 4th time in row that my kids diddnt had training with his coach. 2 stars only for facilities and possibly it is just one coach that is ignorant. My kids group Wednesday 5pm

Positive experience: Went to a kids birthday party in the play area. Lots of variety and a good size. Was surprised they gave out a medal to the attendees especially, as it was metal and good quality. The kids had a box of food/sweets each and a fruit shoot bottle. The staff were all helpful and polite. My only criticisms would be that the room to eat in was very cold, not all of the ride on horses worked and the parking was very busy and a bit tight.

Positive experience: Great fun for little kids for an hour or two. Good for kids parties etc.

Fantastic experience: After a recommendation we found this outstanding place to play football, the whole set up is geared around enjoyment and to allow people to play football. The set up really has helped my grandson who has recently taken up playing football, being 7 years old and never played in a team or with team mates it’s a Fabulous place to learn about the game and how to play. We hired a pitch to play as a family to see if he enjoyed playing which he did, that coupled with the constant badgering asking when can we go back showed how much enjoyment he got from the afternoon. We hired the pitch again last night to enable him plus a few to play a game of 5 a side- we arrived early and was given the pitch before our allotted times and was regularly checked by the staff that everything was okay. Good food , great staff and the genuinely outstanding facilities

Positive experience: Hard to.find not much parking NO disabled parking. Nice staff.

Negative experience: Had a kids party on Friday night, no trainer on site, been sick all day. Not notified until we arrived in the evening. Then went to drink the following night, no heating, toilet broke, total mess, will not go there again

Fantastic experience: Great venue, played a walking cricket competition here. Lovely children's play area and lovely cake and coffee had during break. X

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the customer service provided by this venue recently. After being a weekly customer over the last year our team was shifted out of a block booking and another team put in our spot. No real explanation offered (although obvious mistake on the venues front) accept told the other team had paid up front so I’m guessing money is more important than ongoing commitment to customers. No solutions or good will gestures offered to find a solution or settle the situation. Had to chase with multiple calls and eventually had to offer my own resolution. Received one return call from the venue over a three week period. Then finally told by the owner (Dan) that it was our teams own fault for missing a few bookings in the summer that had influenced him to make an executive decision to oust our team and place another team in our slot. A very odd situation and even more odd customer service. Now looking for a new home to play football as we feel this business does not deserve our money. Ultimately the venues loss in revenue not ours. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful place for kids to use their imagination and play. This place is a real change from the usual soft play centres that we're all used to. It has numerous play rooms for the kids all kitted out with everything you'd expect in a vets, salon, shop, theatre etc. My 3 year old loved it!

Fantastic experience: We've been and tried out the new Play Arena with our 2 year old. She absolutely loved all the themed areas! It's the only one of its kind in the area and after travelling to a similar one in Scunthorpe, I can safely say this one beats it hands down in all areas!

Positive experience: My little boy had a party at this place and it was hands down the best party he's been to! There was a new little room for the children to explore. Lots off fun! Would recommend

Fantastic experience: A great way to kill an hour if your kids love football and its raining outside. (It's all indoors) My teenage son met a few friends there on the big pitch (and after they chose to walk around the corner to a well known fast food restaurant.) He said they all had a great time. Reasonably priced and you have private use of a specific space for an hour.

My daughter wanted to try football as she lives it and I've got to say hands down this has been the best place for her Not only do the staff not treat any of the kids any diffrent to each other They make it so funny and enjoyable for them My girl was a little shy on her first session but Alex saw this and came up and soon made her feel so welcome she make a beeline for him for a hi five at the start of most session Definitely well worth the money and I'd advise anyone to give it ago if there give want to try it .

Fantastic experience: I’m not built for exercise however Danny showed me around the arena some time ago which has some fantastic facilities. We recently held our On Point Network businesses networking meeting there - which was the perfect place for one and the team were really accommodating and couldn’t have been anymore helpful. And they have some decent coffee too!

Positive experience: Quite difficult to get timing you want, even if block booking, especially on weekends. The facilities are otherwise very nice. Indoor pitches, great for too hot, rainy or too cold days. Got a nice area to chill afterwards or watch a match.

Fantastic experience: Excellent place! My son had his party here which was taken by Dan. He was amazing with all the kids, well structured party. Food was great! They all loved receiving their medal and certificates. We have also had my sons football teams presentation there, which was well organised. Dan again took this and was amazing with the kids and even included my little boy who is 3,making he feel part of it. We will definitely be going back again soon. Staff all friendly too.

Negative experience: Okay, but food and drink expensive and poor food the sandwiches where very basic a bit butter would make an improvement. Old and broken equipment.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my family hired the Junior Pitch for 1hr at the weekend and had a fantastic time, a great facility, really reasonable and what's more a safe place. We had temperature checks on arrival, and there was clear signage about wearings masks. As the weather gets colder, this is the perfect place for families and friends to keep active. My son is already asking when we can go again, although he wants to substitute his sister!
