Positive experience: An ok place to go (if you dont mind business or loud noises) i have been there not alot recently, but if I pack my bags then turn up, it is much busier than it was a month ago. I do not recommend for sensitive people

Positive experience: Reception staff were friendly and polite , the small pool is actually a good size , the only disappointing thing was when I took my little girl to use ladies toilets , all 3 were quite dirty and covered in a lot of poo splatters , looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a few days so were a bit grim to use.

Positive experience: Been a member for a while but go very infrequently. Apathy is the main reason... However, whilst I know there has to be a schedule to access some facilities but it does make it tough. Used the pool recently and whilst it was enjoyable, I was not a fan of the lane restriction imposed so a small group could use the main part.of the pool. Add to this that one member decided she was entitled to impose her will on the rest of the group just because she is quicker - total lack of respect.to other users of the gym.

Fantastic experience: BEST pool I've been to in Merseyside so far. Clean, cool pool that oddly doesn't really of chlorine. Changing rooms are spacious and clear. Staff is friendly and helpful. The cafe is adorable, in fact the whole place is beautiful. Swimming hits different in a clean and peaceful environment. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Great classes i especially enjoy low aerobics and dance fit.. love that there are so many varied classes and also a fantastic gym & pool..The coffee shop serve great coffee..their carrot cake is delicious .

Negative experience: Disappointing. Rang up to confirm whether we could turn up for the smaller pool swimming - was told to turn up, no problem. Turned up shortly after opening (Sunday 10:30am it opened), we were told "were we on the waiting list?" Well obviously not, I'd rang and was told nothing about this waiting list. Apparently you have to ask to be added to the waiting list. The foyer was chaos, and so disorganised. We were told the wait was 30 minutes, why was I not told this on the phone? And to pay for the carpark, I had to download an app and pay £1.20! When I'd been in and out within 10 minutes. Ridiculous. Complete was of mine and my young children's time. Would not recommend this place, and will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: Go here three times a week and it's always a pleasure. All the facilities are first class and maintained to a very high standard. Very nice cafe and surrounding grounds, again maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. The membership fees are excellent value for the level of service provided. Above all can't praise the staff highly enough who really make this a great place to visit every time.

Fantastic experience: Went for first swimming lessons this weekend. Well appointed pool. Baby pool was lovely and warm. Changing rooms and facilities very clean. Lessons were great and will be back for more. Cafe has a good selection of food and coffees.

Fantastic experience: Always a family favourite to visit Formby Pool. Great customer service at both the reception and Café. The pool areas are spotlessly clean as are the changing rooms. All the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The children of different ages, love both pools and the waters are clean and warm. Brilliant place to visit!

Fantastic experience: First time here as we normaly go to crosby centre, was suprised at this hidden gem. Decent car park (free if you use the facility) 2 pools at a decent size, nice café and a play area. Will recomend to anyone in the area

Fantastic experience: Formby pool is a wonderful place to visit, it’s very family friendly yet still has designated lanes for dedicated swimmers. Cafe and out door park make it a great place to visit with children. Reasonably priced with great amenities, located just outside of Formby village. Free parking if you pop your Reg in when you pay for swimming.

Fantastic experience: Clean, bright public swimming baths with 25m lane swimming and separate kids pool. Had extensive refurb of reception and changing rooms at beginning of 2024, and looks considerably better as a result. Some swimming related items on sale, like goggles and pool toys, floats and swimming caps and costumes. Free parking available on registration at reception, and on site coffee and sandwich bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Small children's playground with swings, roundabout and activity/climbing frames. Well worth a visit

Fantastic experience: Great pool- The young girl at the reception was friendly and helpful- The pool and changing area is kept well and is clean. The free parking is good and necessary.

Fantastic experience: My first visit to watch my 5month old granddaughter have a swimming lesson. Everywhere was immacutely clean. There was plenty of spaces to view the lesson. The lady in the cafe was so cheerful and helpful. Out side there were lots of picnic tables and climbing equipment. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic experience: Great local swimming pool went there with my daughter snd 2 grandsons it was really relaxed. There was a water arobics class in the other pool and the music added to our experience. We all enjoyed it. Lovely coffee shop too

Negative experience: Children are forced to use cold showers or not shower at all after lessons. There's no excuse for having such poor shower facilities (for years).

Negative experience: Went with my 3 month old recently to the smaller pool with high hopes. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy it much. the smaller pool for kids and babies was cold, far colder than is normal or you would expect for a childrens pool. when we called up enquiring about whether the pool was baby friendly no one mentioned this to us. we only planned to have him in for max 30 mins but had to take him out around the 10 minute mark as he was shivering. feel like i wasted money for what was an uncomfortable experience and not the nicest to see. after we got him out the pool we hoped to wash the chlorine off of him with a quick rinse but ironically the showers were too hot for both myself and my baby. i wouldn’t go again or recommend it to a friend based on the pool alone. the changing rooms were clean but the family room could’ve done with being bigger

Fantastic experience: Very fortunate to have this location in my doorstep. The Swimming facilities are good. The pool areas have an on-going cleaning programme (throughout the day) but, the staff are the real diamonds Always Welcoming and Friendly. I have a Swimming Membership and, it's excellent value for money.

Fantastic experience: Used the gym there a few times, and already it's proving to be far more effective and well equipped than the gym i go to back home in Hong Kong. I would definitely recommend it to someone who'd like to workout or keep fit

Positive experience: Went today and playground had pizza box in wiyh other litter items, ie metal bottle tops,crisp packets etc presumably from night before when kids meet there.Hadn't been cleaned by noon time. Also outside eating area was quite grotty.Really needs a good clean with soap and water,with the litter stuck I'm the door groover cleaning !.come on this is a good facility for kid's and swimmers,why not clean the outside adequately? What a shame its so grimey!. On a positive, staff inside nice and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Went see a baby cousin swim class. Looked very clean & plenty for them to do. The life guards were very attentive. Very nice coffee in the cafe & pleasant staff. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Fantastic experience: I like this place the water is clean. Went swimming all good but although I respect all people I don't think it's good idea to have men identifying as women using the female changing rooms especially, as there are children there. Women and children are 2 most vulnerable risk groups and need to be looked after.

Fantastic experience: Have been a member of the gym for about 10 years. It has got better year on year and is a great asset to the community. Staff are friendly and approachable and between the classes and the equipment, I can't think of anything else anyone could need from a gym.

Negative experience: Since the end of the lockdowns the pool has really struggled handling the understandable increase in attendence. We used to be able to turn up on time for the family swim sessions, pay and go in the kids pool. Recently, there has been a queue of people waiting, a random waiting list with no system in place, staff seemingly not knowing who is coming and going and absolutely no warning on the website as to the situation and protocol. Some people had apparently turned up at 10am just to get there name on the list for a 10:30am start! What is the system in place!? I also fail to understand why the kids pool isn't open earlier on a Sunday and why there are not more family swim sessions during the week. To make matters worse the showers have been out of action a number of times. I think charging full whack for this is unacceptable, as is the site of young children and babies shivering and not being allowed to have a warm shower after swimming is simply not on! There is also no mention of the showers not working at the entrance or when paying at reception. Things must improve and communication and the facilities need to be made better. Overall I'm very disappointed especially considering our council tax goes towards this.

Negative experience: Used to be a member but gave up because there are so many lessons that it's impossible to actually swim. Incredibly the situation is even worse now, most of the weekend is taken up with lessons so I can't ever go with the kids. The changing rooms are dire, at least 50% of the showers and lockers are broken at any one time, despite the extortionate fees they charge. Such a shame, should be a great local facility.

Fantastic experience: The child's pool is always warm. It is so clean. Everytime we've been there has always been someone cleaning the changing rooms. We've been going here with my children for 4 years now and we will continue to go. Staff are always friendly and the little coffee shop is nice too.

Positive experience: I regularly attend pilates and yoga. Recently the temperatures in the studio have been cold. This is not conducive to stretching and relaxation. The temperature in the studio needs to be adjusted to the classes.

Fantastic experience: Excellent children's pool. Really shallow so our two children (3 and 5) are both safe and can practice swimming without needing to be carried. Great place for confidence building. A lovely venue as well. Beautiful Scandinavian inspired building.
