Fantastic experience: Balance Health Club is a fantastic gym. The gym is very well equipped and the pool and jacuzzi are also great. All the facilities are clean and well maintained and the staff are really friendly and happy to help if you’re not sure on how to use any of the equipment. There is a good range of classes available and the instructors are super friendly too!

The gym is well-equipped with a wide range of machines and free weights, catering to all fitness levels and goals. Everything is well-maintained and clean, making workouts enjoyable and efficient. What really makes this health club stand out, though, is the staff. Everyone is kind, friendly, and always willing to help. If you are unsure on anything in the gym or need help with your workout the gym instructors are always on hand to offer guidance or advice. A special shoutout goes to Isabelle, she’s an absolute star! She’s always got a smile on her face and is incredibly welcoming and easy to approach. No matter the issue, she goes the extra mile to help and always ensures any concerns are quickly sorted. Her positive energy truly lifts the atmosphere, and the gym honestly wouldn’t be the same without her. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym. The staffs are super friendly. I love the pool, the jacuzzi and the steam room. Personally, i think , the sauna could be slightly bigger. I would say amazing for the constantly mopping the floor of the changing room, so it's not slippery. There are plastic slipper like things in case we are just going to the pool as visitors and we could wear those over our shoes. Shower is great with body wash in each cubicle. Plastic bags available to keep our weight clothes, hair dryer, mats to change baby's diaper etc..I love it all.. cleanliness is top everywhere. Love the clean toilets too. Outside after finishing exercise or swimming, they have a jar of water with lemon for us to hydrate..it is next to the pond and I love the view. I love the different activity classes they have. Did the zumba which was great. Overall, I absolutely love the place.

Negative experience: I'm not a member of this gym, but I've witnessed first-hand how appallingly they treat people. Individuals who joined in good faith—hoping to make a positive change in their lives—were misled and taken advantage of by staff at this facility. They were recommended a membership deal by several employees that was supposedly flexible and financially manageable, with the assurance that they could cancel at any time with just a month's notice. This was a lie. When they later attempted to cancel and gave the appropriate notice, they were hit with threats and harassment. It turns out the membership they were talked into was actually a fixed 12-month contract—something they were never informed of. Despite being told multiple times by multiple staff that cancellation would be simple and penalty-free, they are now being pursued aggressively for money. Last I checked, this is meant to be a gym; not a damn mafia. To anyone considering signing up: be extremely cautious. This gym engages in deceptive, underhanded tactics and seems to have no issue exploiting people's trust and naivety. Their business model appears to rely on misinformation and coercion, not service or integrity. This is not a place that values its members.

Fantastic experience: I love being a member at this gym. Everyone is so kind and helpful including the members as well as the staff. I have recently had PT with Hazel there and highly recommend her!… he is a review of my Pt sessions i uploaded on to her fb page for ref … I was very nervous about doing PT for the very first time but Hazel was amazing. She made me feel at ease and is a great listener when it comes to your goals / struggles. I wanted to gain more confidence in the gym and knowledge and she achieved this and more. Since training with Hazel i have become more toned and hit my target weight which was set over a year ago. I have more knowledge on what i should be taking in diet wise and feel over all more confident. Thank you so much Hazel! Also for bringing the laughs and fun to our sessions also. Sam x I will also be taking a free Pt session with george in a couple of weeks (as a thanku for recommending a member). He has already asked me what id like to work on and taken an interest in what i want to achieve from the session. Amanda and Marlet do the most fantastic spin classes and really know their stuff. Ian is the friendliest receptionist ever and can’t do enough for you. I love this place. Its more than a gym.

Negative experience: Firstly I’d like to say that the facilities and equipment themselves at Balance are mostly good. The women’s changing rooms are always very clean. The staff on reception, cleaners and gym staff are all lovely. Today I’m leaving this one star review because I am deeply saddened by the way my husband and I have been treated by the “admin” staff. I would say to any members or if you’re thinking of becoming a member be aware that this company will treat you like a number and instead of showing respect and loyalty you will get threats and harassment. As new parents we really wanted to continue our contract but unfortunately were preoccupied with our newborn and also had some financial issues which arose last minute so we tried to freeze our membership which we were denied because we needed to give 30 days notice. We pleaded for a bit understanding and it took a long time. We were asked to prove our situation which we tried many times to see someone face to face to discuss but no one was ever available. Finally they accepted but still wanted £5 for a late payment. Fair enough. We had said we wouldn’t want to continue with Balance once the contract had ended because we had felt like they showed poor customer care and business and also we couldn’t afford the price increases. Fast forward to the end of the contract and they took out an extra month which I hadn’t realised. We asked them not to take anymore out because we couldn’t afford it as my maternity pay had ended. Instead of understanding they once again said we needed to pay the next month as it was not 30 days notice. We simply could not afford a service that we wouldn’t use anyway. I understand it’s a business but I also believe that showing some compassion isn’t too much to ask. I tried once again to repair our relationship as we specified we would consider rejoining when finances had recovered but instead, Isabelle offered a payment plan before being able to proceed and then threatened that if we didn’t they could take it to their credit team. I’m devastated as I really loved going to Balance, I took my friends and family there regularly but now I have lost all trust in them. I hope this feedback helps anyone else that may encounter any struggles like we did.

Negative experience: Be prepared to fight for the place in the studio, it's overcrowded with people who don't want to move for you

Positive experience: Gym. Pool. Sauna. Jacuzzi. Steam room. Cafe. Squash courts. Volleyball. All in one place. Great. Music in the gym is awful - why gyms insist on playing that racket when everyone clearly wears their own headphones baffles me. The music loses Balance one start

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for just over a year now and absolutely love it .Great aqua classes, pilates and easy fit. Plus a great gym. Love the pool .the staff and other members who have made me feel so welcome. Can't recommend it enough. l go almost every day it has changed my life

Negative experience: A gym I don't recommend! My experience with Balance health club has been upsetting. Poor communication and customer care all the way throughout. Issues from when i signed up all the way to the very end. To start, I was unable to attend classes with the gym due to having no access to the portal. I would call through to reception to try and book classes, upon which they would tell me classes are booked up, despite them having spaces on the website. I recently cancelled my 12 month membership, however they 'added a new instruction to set up your direct debit again to ensure the contract sees the end date.' - all this was done without contacting me. They have also charged me twice in one month. They have now stopped responding to any of my emails and escalated chasing the money via the Credit Protection Association. Unfortunately, they still have not resolved any of my concerns. Altogether, really disappointing customer care from a local Kettering business - not a gym I will be recommending any time soon.

Fantastic experience: Amazingly maintained. A spacious place to maintain your physical and mental health. I play badminton like 4-5 days in a week. The lighting is 8/10, not congested. Staffs are really friendly. Massive car parking space. Wheelchair accessible.

Negative experience: I am very dissatisfied with the gym. Having a 3 month contract, balance extends the contract without notifying the client and of course charges a fee. They refused to refund.

Negative experience: Staff are friendly. And views out the window are nice when on the treadmill. However, the gym and changing rooms just seem so tired and abused now. Lots of equipment is rickety, torn or malfunctioning. Changing rooms are even worse. 70%(?) of the mens room lockers are out of order, the 30% of functional lockers have missing key ring numbers or swallow your locker token for it never to return. Shower cubicles same again, very tired and used. It’s a shame with the location and facilities that Balance has to offer that doesn’t seem to reflect the membership cost too well.

Fantastic experience: Nice medium size gym that has friendly and approachable staff, ample car parking and a nice swimming pool/sauna facilities. Only negative for me is the chlorine in the jacuzzi tends to be quite potent and can start stinging your eyes if you sit in there for more than 10 minutes.

Negative experience: I can't say whether the gym is any good. I haven't got that far yet, left 3 messages for a call back to discuss membership and as yet nothing... First impressions are not good!

Positive experience: With the gym getting more and more busy each week it’s become a real task to use the machine you need for your session, a lot of chaps standing around chatting hogging the equipment for up to 45-60 mins (no joke). With this many more members the gym desperately needs new equipment and put better use to the available space including the smaller rooms. Please no more running machines. The cleanliness has go down hill rapidly too, the steam room water doesn’t drain away leaving a cold bacteria infested puddle for you to paddle in, the sauna lights don’t work, the hot tub was out of order for weeks at a time, the floor around the pool is disgusting with grime everywhere. The mens locker room is given a quick clean once an evening and is seriously not enough, by the end of the day the floors cover in dirt, chalk, plastic bags. The same goes for the showers, how many times if had to swap shower because the filth built up on the floor. All in all it’s the ONLY gym near by to offer a sauna, steam room, hot tub and gym. Charging £40 a month is insane given the lack of investment this gym has received. In two years I’ve only seen two new prices of equipment, And minor repairs done. With the huge number of additional memebers this gym is in desperate need of investment and upgrades. Another gym will soon plug the gap in the market and everyone will leave in a stampede.

Positive experience: Friendly gym, I mainly use the pool which at 12m isn't too bad a length. It's nice and clean too. Unlike my previous gym the pool is always working at balance but at times the water can be a little too hot. Unless you are up on the dot of 7am you cannot book popular classes such as aquazumba and aquafit. I would give 5 stars if they ran more of these popular classes or ensured the water was not too hot, these are my only complaints.

Pool, steam room, hot tub and free hot drinks are a bonus but the real reason why I pay so much is for free racket sports, only draw back is that their Wi-Fi isn't any good so if you want to do YouTube workouts you can't

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place, gorgeous pool, great gym, nice coffee, a-m-a-zing people, so friendly - staff and other users. Tons of classes, sports events, social events (I could go on and on) etc. Very highly recommended. The entrance picture says it all - welcome and boy do you feel welcome here. I am no model but still feel very welcome and accepted. There aren't many gyms like that. If you're not sure, just visit and see for yourself. Plus gorgeous views, free hot drink after a workout, outside seating on a nice day, sports on big screens etc etc

Negative experience: I have started used their service years ago. Until last December everything was fine. I visited Pilates and Yoga classes. From this year they started change their booking policy two times. Because I am only `Pay and go` member my online account became useless and lost my credit. I called them, emailed them several times. They have reregistered me but it doesn`t work and ignore my refund request. On the last time I have asked cancel my all details from their system but nothing happen again. I though about monthly member but after this no thank you. They are absolutely not customer friendly.

Positive experience: From what I know this place is a good gym, I am not a member but visit the venue via slimming world where a fun and friendly group is run with lots of positive encouragement that helped me lose 2 stone very quickly the rep called Nicola is amazing.

Everything clean, it loses a star because the constant noise of the Jacuzzi is really irritating, it needs screening off to contain the loud noise. Complementary drink is a bonus, worth joining lots of various types of equipment and beautiful views from the gym over the lake

Fantastic experience: I've been a member on and off since it opened, as well as trying other gyms in the area. I'm currently very happy at Balance. Although the weights section isn't as big as other gyms, I find during the day I can have my pick of equipment and don't feel that I'm waiting for machines or racks. It's definitely at the very top of my budget, and as I rarely use the pool or classes so don't feel I get as much value out of my membership as I could, but it's a lovely atmosphere and I enjoy my workouts here, which makes the higher fees worthwhile. Compared to previous years when I've been a member here, the machines are always working and well maintained, as well as new equipment being added.
