Positive experience: The spa itself is very well maintained and offers excellent amenities. Everything felt clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. I particularly loved the swimsuit drying machine, the Dyson hairdryers, and the overall quality of the facilities. The massages were very good, and the masseuses were friendly, professional, and made us feel at ease throughout. We were also given chocolate-covered strawberries to congratulate us on our engagement, which was a lovely and much-appreciated touch. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t fully match what was advertised through Buyagift, which was disappointing as we had booked this as a romantic day. From the booking stage, it seemed there was some unfamiliarity with the package. We were initially scheduled for only 30 minutes in the watsu pool, despite the offer clearly stating one hour, and this was only corrected after I raised it. On the day itself, there were further discrepancies. Instead of a couples massage in the same room, we were taken to separate rooms. The watsu pool session, which was meant to include petals, champagne, and a fruit platter, ended up being just bottled water. While the pool was pleasant, it didn’t resemble the photos shown online and felt more like a general-use or children’s pool, with toys visible, rather than the intimate, hot-tub-style setting suggested in the images. Another slightly awkward moment came at the end of our visit, when guests in robes were eating dinner in the small reception area. Seeing this made it feel quite exposed, and it honestly put me off the idea of booking dinner there in the future, as it didn’t seem to offer guests much privacy. That said, everyone working at the spa was genuinely lovely and welcoming, and the venue clearly has a lot of potential. With better staff training around third-party bookings and clearer alignment between what’s advertised and what’s delivered, this could be an excellent experience. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.

Fantastic experience: World-class 90 minute massage by Larissa, superbly relaxing with a perfect blend of oils and treatments. The Ayurvedic Shirodhara treatment was just a perfect way to draw the treatment to a close. Superb settings too, very comfortable surroundings.

Fantastic experience: I have been to this Spa twice for the four hours packages on the 2nd occasion I booked the twilight package where you get the eye masks and fruit platter. The SPa has good facilities and it is clean. It is not crowded like other spas. The staff are nice especially Sofia, she is so patient and is always welcoming . She gave me some samples to try. I don't even bother with other spas now, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I booked to visit Akasha super last minute. Daniela was very helpful and put together a bespoke package that fit my needs and budget. The spa was lovely, treatment with Sasha was incredibly relaxing and professional… and then someone brought me a surprise glass of champagne in the spa. Had the best afternoon - thank you team. Cannot recommend enough.

Fantastic experience: Had a very restorative and enjoyable visit to this immaculate and calm spa yesterday with a friend, the facilities have everything you could want and the staff were warm and accommodating, we chose a hammam experience and were given the most wonderful scrubs and milks and cleansers to pamper ourselves with - great for friends or couples! Would visit this elegant spa again in a heartbeat - right in the heart of soho just amazing

Fantastic experience: Excellent spa tucked away in central London. The facilities were exceptional, with a serene atmosphere and friendly staff. The 18m long pool is perfect for a swim, while the jacuzzi and steam room were ideal. I went for the 2-hour twilight experience, which was reasonably priced and included a complimentary glass of champagne. I will definitely be back again and look forward to trying the fitness studio next time.

Fantastic experience: Very nice spa, the staff here are all lovely, they always make you feel welcome at every visit and are friendly people. The 25 metre pool is great, clean and does not smell of strong chlorine. Good steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, gym everything you need in once spot. Ive had a massages here and the lady was very good, professional and ensured that I had a good experience and felt relaxed. The staff are efficient and you can see that they work hard to keep the place clean, tidy and replenished. If you want a relaxing spa day or to celebrate a special occasion, Akasha is a good option and I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: I had a facial at Hotel Cafe Royal's Akasha Spa, and would highly recommend it or any other spa treatment (I had a massage previously). The entire set up is quiet and calming, from the Ground Floor entrance to the Lower Ground Floor reception, changing room, waiting area and eventually the treatment room. My therapist was Victoria and she explained the products and treatment. I liked that there was no hard sell of the products but you can of course purchase any that you like from Reception afterwards. The bed can be heated if you like (great in Winter). I have been travelling and jet lagged with a puffy face. After the facial my face felt more hydrated and all the puffiness was gone. After the treatment there is no need to rush off: you can sit by the pool, or rest in an adjoining room where there are fruits, nuts and herbal teas. This is an ideal place if you want some quiet time to yourself suitable for e.g. special treats with friends and family, as there are spaces before and after where you can get together to rest and chat - however 4 is possibly the maximum you should have to keep the day relaxing.

Negative experience: Noisy children running up and down the male changing rooms throwing towels at each other, and then the mother entered the changing rooms, whilst other men were changing. Starter and main-course was severed cold, and under cooked. Sauna did not work, jacuzzi only worked on one-side. Very bad, and not very relaxing at all.

Fantastic experience: Such a lovely place, clean, modern and really relaxing. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. Since it was a birthday gift I even got a platter with chocolate covered strawberries. Such a nice touch! The one suggestion I have is that there should be more hairdryers in the changing rooms.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing visit to Akasha spa!! I came for my birthday with a group of friends and we all had an exceptional day. The facilities are gorgeous and clean and the spa has everything you need. What really made this day incredible was the support of the staff. Ana went above and beyond to make my birthday a special day. She was so attentive and really gave us luxury, high class treatment! I am so thankful to her for all she did for us that day, from organising treats to arranging our lunch. I will absolutely return. Thank you Akasha spa and thank you Ana!! X

Positive experience: This is a spa I would go to 1-2x a year in London. The last visit was a really bad experience and I won’t be back. Front desk staff are always very polite and helpful the massues was 15 minutes late said she didn’t know I was there. The massage she kept pulling my legs and arms to point it hurt and I was drenched in oil I ended up ending the massage early as it was uncomfortable and painful. She made me take off my necklace which in the end I ended up forgetting it in the massage room. I left and as I got to the subway I called to tell the front desk I had left it they asked the masseuse ,but said there was no necklace to be found but that it would be investigated and if I wanted I could contact the police…

Fantastic experience: I went to Akasha Spa in October last year. It was my first visit to a spa and it definitely was and is a memorable experience. Apart from everything Akasha had to offer, the girls in reception were totally amazing. Ana and Ramla were both so kind and caring and went out to their way to provide the best possible customer service anyone can imagine. I came in very cold and tired and they gave me the most beautiful tasting ginger tea. Ramla brought me chocolates at the poolside for my niece, whose birthday we were celebrating. Both these girls were so lovely in every way. God bless them. The spa itself is such a nice place and no one would have thought that it exists in Central London, as the exterior does not warrant exactly what is inside. I would very highly recommend this spa to anyone. It wasn't voted the best spa without reason and it comes complete with the most loveliest staff. Thank you Ana and Ramla for creating one of the best days of 2024 for me. Sorry I took so long in putting up this review. I always meant to but never got around to it until now. Happy New Year girls. Positive experience: I had a lovely spa experience yesterday including a massage and lunch. The best thing about the whole experience was the staff. They were all really lovely, polite, hard working and constantly replacing towels etc. The spa itself seemed like dated luxury. The whole place fitted out in a uniform marble/stone. However the temperature was a little cool and whilst sitting I needed a towel for warmth. The pool, however, was lovely and a perfect temperature. The Jacuzzi back jets did not work on one side. There were no exotic or modern rooms. In addition, the lighting was low so great for creating an ambiance but terrible if you want to read whilst relaxing. The massage by Carolina was amazing and it actually lasted the full hour... Thanks The included lunch was also good, the manager on duty in the Barbounia restaurant, could not have been more attentive. Thanks for a very enjoyable day

Fantastic experience: We visited Akasha Spa for the first time at the end of September and we LOVED it. We booked a couple package as a little treat for celebrating our recent mariage and we had a wonderful time. The inside of the spa is beautiful, they have those lovely comfy chairs by the pool where you can relax after using the facilities which are also truly amazing. All the staff on premises are very professional, friendly and attentive. The massage we got was FANTASTIC. I do not remember the names of our therapists but they took the time to ask us before the treatment what we were expecting and if we had any concerns, and as a result the massage they gave us was of exceptional quality as they focused on what we wanted. Cherry on the cake, they gave us some delicious chocolate strawberries and a fruit platter as a treat. Really sorry it took me so long to write a review and I'm really looking forward to our next visit in the future as we will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: Truly a hidden gem in the middle of Piccadilly Circus! Treated myself to the weekday escape package for my birthday. From the moment I arrived all the staff were so lovely and helpful, the ambiance was calming and impeccably clean - with thoughtful details throughout, like chocolate covered strawberries with a happy birthday message! The spa areas felt spacious but also private, with nooks and spaces to slip away into. Plenty of fresh towels were provided, along with a cozy robe and flip flops. My massage from Ola was incredible! I left feeling relaxed and refreshed- will definitely be returning!

Fantastic experience: Lovely spa with a deceptive entrance that leads to an oasis of calm. The locker rooms are fully stocked with towels, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, vanity packs, etc. Robes and slippers are supplied. The relaxation area is very zen. There is a wet level with a lap pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There is a yoga room and a variety of exercise classes and self care sessions are offered. I had the 90 minute hot stone massage. It was awesome. The staff were very attentive and kind. I was surprised with a gift of delicious Raspberry truffles for my birthday.

Negative experience: Had a massage and facial. Facial was lovely and so was the therapist. My face felt great afterwards. They don’t offer extractions and that type of facial so it’s more of a massage facial. Massage was ok. They rely on theragun a bit too much for my taste :(. Facilities were nice. The sauna needs to be renovated as you can see it’s falling apart a bit in places. And the jacuzzi is super loud to the point that you can’t relax. Wish I could have given more stars but with treatments starting at 250 pounds, I would expect something that rivals the gorgeous spas in Scandinavia or Switzerland.

Negative experience: Don't purchase a twilight package, all you get is 2 hour access. No champagne, no eye mask. They don't seem to care much about customer service. They normally charge £50 for 2 hours access, I paid £89 for 2 hours.

Fantastic experience: I hardly know where to begin with my review of this magical Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Spa. It's no surprise that it won the title of Best Spa in the UK last year. I've visited both with my husband and by myself on several occasions. Each time, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. During one of my solo visits, I had the “Valmont Anti-Aging Lifting – Lift from the Peaks” facial treatment and experienced Watsu for the first time, both of which were absolutely amazing. The facial left my skin looking brighter and more lifted after just one session. Watsu, a flotation therapy in 35 Celsius warm water, was rejuvenating experience thanks to the wonderful therapist, Helena from HE AQUATICS. The treatment is delivered in a small specially built Watsu treatment pool, and the combination of stretching and water massage left me fully relaxed after a busy day. My body and mind truly benefited from this signature treatment. This spa goes above and beyond with their caring and exceptional services. I highly recommend it, 10/10. Thank you, team ❤️

Fantastic experience: Crazy to think there is such a spa with a relaxing ambience right by the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly Circus! I came here for the weekday package as a treat for my birthday. Robes/ flip-flops were provided and fresh towels were dotted around the various facilities. The pool area was great and the massage that I had was phenomenal!

Negative experience: I booked a specific facial over a month in advance and the spa reached out to me the day before to tell me they could not provide me with that facial after all. I specifically booked this for my last day in London and giving me notice the day before meant I could not rebook. I’m not sure what the point is of making a reservation in advance if it won’t be honored. The next time I’m here I will book with a different spa.

Positive experience: Really enjoyed my spa time here at Akasha. Good sized pool, powerful jacuzzi, large sauna & comfy loungers. The staff were welcoming & polite. Unfortunately I gave 4 stars not 5 as I had to remind them to turn the steam room on! Nonetheless, I’m sure I’ll return!

Fantastic experience: My friend and I had the afternoon tea and spa ‘sweet treats’ package today. Everything from the greeting at reception, customer service, facilities and tea was OUTSTANDING. It was by far the best London spa experience I’ve had. The staff were incredibly welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We were there for a total of 6 hours and enjoyed every single moment. As an avid swimmer, the pool was 10/10 luxurious! We very much look forward to our return in the near future!! Thank you!

Relax and unwind in the spa facilities including the 18m long lap pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.

Fantastic experience: The most incredible experience at Akasha, I was so taken care of from the moment I walked in, staff are so nice and the atmosphere of the spa is just vibes. You can always find a private space to relax and the facilities are giant especially the sauna. I stayed for lunch and the food (and champagne) are really really nice! I cant say enough good things about my massage therapist, Fatima. She gave an amazing massage, literally the best I've ever had and managed to sort me a goodybag at the end!! So greatful and will definitely be returning ASAP!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic! A well-deserved 5 out of 5! Everyone I came across from booking in at reception until I left was super friendly, patient, and incredibly helpful! Nothing was too much trouble. Their wanting you to enjoy your time there felt genuine and real. I loved it! It was booked as a birthday treat for myself, and it delivered on every level. I had one of the best hot stone massages that I've ever had with the incredible Maria. I went in with a tight, tense, and stressed body and came out 90 minutes later floating on air, a feeling that has still lasted 3 days later. The massage was followed by a declicious and beautifully presented 2 course meal. I can't fault my experience, I loved every minute. It was truly lovely! Akasha, I'm coming back!

Positive experience: Great massage however the facilities could use some love. General signs of wear and tear. There also appeared to be a bio accident in a shower that went uncleaned for at least 30 minutes. Despite a phenomenal massage, I wouldn't go back due to the facility.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars for a top noch 5 star experience ! This is the first time I'm leaving a 5 star review. Very happy with my visit to the spa. Came here to celebrate a birthday and like someone said, as soon as we arrived I knew I made the right choice I'm so glad I chose this spa to come to. The staff are all excellent & welcoming, the facilities were tidy. Luckily when we used them it was quiet and it was just us. The main jacuzzi was warm & nice to be in. The pool is stunning, the relax beds near the pool are relaxing indeed. The robes & slippers were comfortable and I loved thay there were towels everywhere. We also had the private jacuzzi with the jets + fresh fruits and that was a lovely fun experience. The sauna smelt like lemon/peppermint in addition to the steam, that was also a good experience. However the icing on the cake were the masseuses we had for the massage - Fatima and Sarita. They were very accomodating, gave lovely full body back + front massages, had lovely conversation with them as they gave us the massage. Sarita had been very engaging with my mums queries & my mum really enjoyed the massage by her. Fatima did my massage & at first it was heavy handed -to be fair i initially asked for firm- but when I asked she went lighter and it felt relaxing. Fatima had even gone out of her way to replace my wet robe without me asking. She also left a lovely message for my mum upon learning it was her birthday. The relax area after the massage although dark was also a nice spot. Only a couple improvement points: The pool is slightly deep so not having a lifeguard present is kinda dangerous even though there's CCTV cameras on the pool. Also would've been nice to receive some milk/sugar with the teas we requested rather than just the teas. We also didn't get the drinks with our service included in our package. But overall it was a very relaxing experience. I recommend using the facilities before the massage treatments though because oil is used and going back into water after the relaxation + oils -that smelt lovely- may be much.

Negative experience: I visited this Spa on the basis of the great reviews, wanted somewhere special for my Birthday the day before I flew on holiday with my family. I had the most amazing lady do my massage for the weekday escape package - she was lovely and the massage was great that I give 5 stars. The facilities are nice - however, very displeased with the receptionist who took care of me upon my arrival and leaving, I was less than perhaps 5 minutes late for my appointment and she had let off an energy that I need to rush and fill out a form on a tablet ephasised the massage therapist was on a strict time slot, when she led me to through the spa she rushed I did not even catch the code for the lockers which led me to go all the way back to reception and ask for assistance, upon leaving there was no warm personable approach, I paid and the same lady placed my card and receipt on the counter with a very cold greeting of a 'Happy Birthday' I almost felt judged for even using the services. I would return but afraid the customer service from this particular receptionist was very disappointing. Also, the layout can be a little like a maze and hard to find your way around, even entering the actual building so be warned!

Fantastic experience: It is beyond beautiful and so is the price. Would highly recommend for a luxury spa day.

Negative experience: The treatment was good, but the loud drilling made paying the amount they charge not worth it. I couldn’t relax after treatment at all as the drilling and banging from works seemed to be above the relaxation area. It’s an expensive treatment for you not being able to relax.

Fantastic experience: I booked the Royal Spa Day and I've never been more relaxed. The therapist Victoria was absolutely incredible!

Negative experience: Such an awful service and marketing lies! We basically booked a 90-minute deep tissue massage for the specific purpose of being able to enjoy spa facilities jointly after the massage. The said policy emphasized this! What they did not emphasize is that it is applicable for treatments strictly over 90 minutes. Obviously, there is no such over-lengthy treatments which means one has to book two treatments to get access to the spa for free, or book separately a spa day. This is absolutely outrageous that such a luxurious renowned hotel & spa as Café Royale has this way of thinking! Not only the above but also a bad and inappropriate service! Right before the massage - literally seconds before entering the room ready to relax and relieve stress - an employee came to us warning/lecturing us for 5 minutes that spa facilities will not be allowed. As if we were kids not following rules. This was disrespectful and way out of the line, to say the least. For the price it cost (£230 times 2), we expected much more than what we’d experienced, both from a policy and customer service perspectives! We shall never set foot at this hotel again! Unfortunately over there, just because it is labelled as luxurious does not mean all would perfect and according to customers’ expectations.

Negative experience: As a first time customer, I am disappointed with the dishonesty and unprofessionalism of the spa reception staff/service. I booked the spa day for 2 for my husband and I on 10th February. The price showing on their website at the time was £375. Thought it was a good deal considering what it involved so I made the booking with my credit card for the 18th. After our spa session was done and we went to the reception to pay, we were told the price was £475. This price was the new price on their website even though a week before it was less. We were shocked because we both were absolutely certain it was £375 on their website which was why we booked. Someone has obviously made an error which cost us an additional £100 due to no fault of ours. One of the staff at the reception remembers taking my booking but "conveniently" doesn't recall telling me the price was £375. As we had no way of checking the original amount there, and the booking confirmation email didn't have the amount, we decided not to argue further and pay the £475. I am disappointed with the dishonesty considering the caliber of the hotel. I'll be taking this matter up with them and my bank once I find evidence of the original booking amount. It's unfair to make such changes without notifying the customer. They could have simply apologised for the error and we would have still paid the £475.

Fantastic experience: Amazing SPA with great architectural features thanks to Chipperfield's design. The staff is super welcoming and the massages were professional, attentive and very relaxing. There is food served by the pool and the relaxation, meditation, and pre treatment rooms are very relaxing and with very comfortable chairs and beds. Super good spot right by Piccadilly Circus.

Fantastic experience: What a beautiful place. So relaxing. I went on a wednesday at midday. It wasn't too busy and although the Hamman room was not operational the other facilities made up for it. I had a 90 min deep tissue massage by Jessica. She was personable and in tune with my body. I could tell that she cared and left feel so relaxed. A little pricey but worth the spend

Fantastic experience: I booked this spa for my husband’s birthday and bought the ‘Seasons For Two’ package. As soon as we arrived I knew I’d made the right decision. The spa and pool area were exquisite and absolutely spotless. There were towels on hand and we were given lovely bathrobes to wear. We followed this by having a couple treatment. My husband had the back scrub and full body massage, and I had the facial and back scrub. The treatments was the best we’ve ever had and the staff were friendly and professional. The treatment rooms were perfectly heated at the right temperature and the lighting was just subdued enough to aid relaxation. Once the treatments were complete, we were taken to the relaxation area and given a glass of champagne. Perfect! Everyone at Akasha took great care of us and the whole day was incredible. I highly recommend this, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I went for a spa day for my birthday. It was exactly what we needed. The underground pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna were in perfect condition. Our massages were excellent. I had Aurelia and she helped me to really relax and de-stress. I felt very looked after, she even approached me afterwards with some recommendations. Fantastic experience: I visited the spa with my friend last weekend and from the moment we arrived everything was just perfect. The spa is easily accessible from the street and very welcoming upon arrival with a staff member at the entrance explaining where to go. At arrival to the spa itself everything is immaculate with very welcoming reception staff. Everything was explained in detail and drinks were offered promptly. We were shown around so we knew exactly where to go and the pool itself is one of the best i have seen at a spa. We spent a few hours relaxing in the sauna, steam & pool before being welcomed into the waiting room for our treatments. Drinks were again on offer whilst we relaxed waiting for our massages. The girls (Aurela & Eliana) introduced themselves and made us both welcome straight away. We were then explained the process and had a brief chat about what we wanted to gain from the treatment. We were both made to feel comfortable and the massage itself was the best i have ever had! It was extremely professional whilst still being very COVID friendly. Definitely recommend this spa!

Positive experience: Amazing time at this spa, wish I got there earlier and spent more time :) I was scheduled to do the Thai massage, but I wasn’t advised that I needed to have loose fitting clothing for it, so the massage was switched to a half Swedish half Thai massage. I want to give a special thanks to Coralie Biseuzl, my therapist who was just brilliant. She managed to switch the massage at the last moment and was fantastic with everything. Fantastic experience: Thank you Akasha at the Cafe Royal for offering the magic of Steve Karle’s unparalleled work through his poetry in water. I went through about thirty hours of mind blowing sessions - well worth the many flight hours from New York to London - and embarked on a very special journey each time. Steve, in his very gentle manner, guided me into a total breakthrough, opening up a new chapter in my life.

Fantastic experience: I had a course of treatments with one of Akasha’s specialists, Steve Karle, which helped me emotionally and allowed me to dive deep into my unconscious mind and work through unresolved processes. Steve’s listening skills showed great empathy and sensitivity and the absence of judgement from his side enabled me to express without resistance. This may sound more like psychotherapy even though his focus was bodywork but this was the beauty of it. I have discovered how much of the memories and processes in our psyche are buried deep within the body and how liberation can only happen when both mind and body are held with deep awareness of their intrinsic connection. I was suffering from PTSD and through the sessions I was able to unwind both physically and psychologically. I am very grateful to Steve. It is also good to know that a luxury spa such as Akasha that may typically focus more on pampering, also brings such a high level of wellness that is so needed in this fast-paced city.

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic spa. It’s right off of probably one of the busiest spots in the world but you wouldn’t know it once you are in. The design of the space itself is lovely, very modern but comforting. The lap pool is really big, there’s nooks surrounding it with super comfy loungers (think beds) that give you lots of privacy. The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are spacious and again, really well designed. There was only ever 6 or so people in the whole facility at the same time as me, so felt like I had the place to myself. I had the best massage I’ve ever had in my life to top it all off. Spent 6 hours there and the time simply evaporated, highly recommended.
