Fantastic experience: Fantastic from beginning to end. A lovely 5-star hotel with spacious rooms and amenities. I only had one poor experience with one of the front desk employees, who was dismissive and did not address an issue regarding the room setup (I was later informed that he was new after receiving an apology from another staff member). Otherwise, everyone I came in contact with was superb, including Teyana, who was kind and patient in getting me checked in early. The hotel is also located right across from Hyde Park, which was lovely to walk through. Easily metro accessible and nestled in the charming neighborhood of Baywater/Lancaster. Again, the rooms were excellent: spacious, clean, with large windows overlooking Hyde Park. Although it's further from common major attractions (Big Ben, London Eye, theatres, etc.), I prefer this location as it is situated in a quieter, cleaner part of town and is easily accessible to major attractions via the underground tube. Definitely worth the stay!

Fantastic experience: Royal Lancaster London is easily one of the best hotels in London. The location is outstanding, right next to Hyde Park and very close to public transport, which makes getting around the city extremely convenient. The rooms are very clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Housekeeping does a great job, and the overall hygiene standards are excellent. The staff are professional, polite, and genuinely helpful. From check-in to check-out, the service was smooth and respectful. A big plus is that the hotel provides a bidet spray (shattaf), which is rare in London and very appreciated. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a prime location in London.

Positive experience: I didn’t stay at the hotel so I can’t mention what the rooms are like. I am writing this review because my experience was somewhat confused due to reservation issues for afternoon tea on Christmas Day. I had to reserve through OpenTable so there were two options…standard and Christmas. The standard option had a more lenient cancellation policy. When I booked my reservations for afternoon tea I fell into the Christmas booking which was less lenient. Due to an unfortunate understanding I cancelled my reservations late but the hotel staff managed to rebook my reservation…I would have been severely annoyed if I lost £95 or approximately $130 American because the afternoon tea was prepaid. Afternoon tea was fine as well as the presentation of the food (in terms of the look of the food and desserts). Unfortunately the service was mildly off. I distinctly got the impression the wait staff was checking to see if I left a tip, which I would have but I did not receive this sort of candy wrapped like item that was given to the other customers. A staff member was wearing sneakers which I suppose could have been to a medical issue or what not…Just little things about the service seemed off. The hotel would have gotten a better rating if it was a bit more flexible about cancellation policies but I suppose I understand because my reservation was on Christmas Day. Also I recently had afternoon tea at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid. The food was ok but the overall presentation of service, staff dress code, and taking coats to the cloakroom…service felt more refined.

Fantastic experience: Went there with my daughter on a vacation. This was my first time staying here. The day we arrived, there was an event with about a couple of hundred guests checking in. In spite of that, not only did we get our room on time, the staff did not seem flustered in the slightest. The check in process was exceptionally smooth. The room we were in was small. I am not sure if that's an American vs. European thing. The toilet flush had minor issues. Other than that, everything was good. Room service sometimes takes forever, so I advice against it. Just go down to the restaurant and dine. The bar is great and they make a mean Hot Toddy! The breakfast service is simply superb. The staff is very attentive, and service is quick. I strongly recommend paying for breakfast with your room. The location of the hotel is very convenient. Crossing the road on one side will take you into Hyde Park. Lancaster Gate station is literally under the hotel. Paddington station is walking distance if you don't have luggage. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel.

Fantastic experience: We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Our room was clean and spacious, with a bathroom featuring both a bathtub and a shower. The soundproofing is excellent – absolutely no noise, which is quite rare in London! We enjoyed a beautiful view of Hyde Park, truly wonderful to wake up to. The staff was extremely professional, attentive, and always helpful, which made our stay even more comfortable. The bar and restaurant located upstairs are of excellent quality, and there is also a bar in the lobby serving great takeaway coffee, perfect before a walk. The location is ideal: just steps away from Lancaster Gate underground station, and only 5 minutes from Paddington Station, which provides direct access to Heathrow Airport. The hotel is also close to the main shopping streets, easily reached on foot or by metro. Overall, a quiet, comfortable, and perfectly located hotel. We would definitely come back!

Fantastic experience: We had a good experience. The service is excellent, and the staff are very helpful and professional. The location is amazing — close to Hyde Park and easy to reach everywhere in London. However, the room size is very small. Our two people room felt quite tight. With three bags we barely had space to move around or use the Dinner table comfortably. Also, there was only one small closet, which was really not enough for two people staying several days. I just noticed that our room didn’t come with a coffee machine, which was surprising for a hotel at this level. On the positive side, we appreciated the thoughtful amenities, especially that they offer a handheld bidet (رشاش موية) in the bathroom, which is very convenient for us. A special thank you to Miss Rochelle for her warm hospitality throughout our stay. In general, the hotel has great service and location, but the room size can be a challenge if you have luggage.

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t leave without sharing my wonderful experience at this amazing hotel in London. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Even though there was a conference taking place in the lobby during check-in, the team quickly arranged a quiet and comfortable space for us to relax while our room was being prepared. It was a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel cared for. Later during our stay, I unfortunately injured my leg and this is where the hotel truly went above and beyond. The staff provided all the support I needed, including purchasing everything necessary to ensure I was comfortable and okay. Their kindness, patience, and genuine care meant so much and made a difficult moment much easier. Fantastic experience: The rooms were beautiful, the location was very appropriate for our trip itinerary (lots of park time and walking) the lobby was beautifully decorated and comfortable to take calls in, we arrived earlier than check in and they had the availability to give us a "rest room" which was very hospitable and kind, staff was extremely polite and took care of our needs, we asked to install a bidet but it was a manual portable one that wasn't too exciting, the TV connected veryyy smoothy to YouTube or anything we were sharing which is something I noticed was annoying in other hotels, food service was quick and yummy, generous with their towels as well! Overall a lovely experience and would 100% recommend

Fantastic experience: Bit of a different review. Did an awards show there last week as a techie. We’re used to hotels not giving us good treatment but the Royal Lancaster was exceptionally good. Kept the crew supplied with coffee and water. Food in the evening was amazing. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Negative experience: All started well, attending an event on the first floor and I found the venue nice, great food and the F&B team friendly. Unfortunately all turned to the worse. The rules they have for cloakroom if you are not staying in the hotel is ridiculous Couldn't managed to anyone to care or assist. I found the lack of empathy not worth of a hotel in the hospitality sector. No one accepted to take my bag or coat The reception to movile is blocked so you can't hear anything I think I will stay away nex time .

Fantastic experience: A very posh hotel with plenty of stylish spaces to relax or entertain guests. We stayed for my partner’s 60th birthday, and the service was nothing short of exceptional — warm, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable. Fantastic experience: I attended an event party at the Royal Lancaster last week and I must say, the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and the service was truly fabulous. From the moment I arrived, every member of staff made me feel welcome, and the overall atmosphere was wonderful. All the colleagues who were with us from the beginning of the party were so friendly, professional, and made the occasion very special. However, I did want to raise a concern about one individual from the security department, whose name I was told is Benjamin. I witnessed him speaking very rudely to one of his colleagues—someone who had been friendly and helpful throughout the night. Benjamin not only gave orders in a harsh and disrespectful manner but also created an uncomfortable scene that affected my experience and those around me. Seeing this behaviour in such a beautiful and prestigious place was upsetting, and I even asked the reception how someone like that could represent the Royal Lancaster. I sincerely hope that management takes this feedback seriously and looks into this matter, as it detracts from the otherwise outstanding standards that the hotel upholds. Overall, I want to commend the rest of the staff and thank everyone for their hard work. I hope that some action will be taken to ensure a more positive, respectful environment for both guests and staff in the future.

The actual tea selection was great, not super extensive but you'll find something you will like. The food was also top notch. Good selection is good, and the desserts look and taste as they were designed by a master pastry chef. Great experience!

Negative experience: I have quite a few comments. I’m used to hotels in London having someone available to assist with opening car doors and the hotel entrance, but unfortunately, there was rarely anyone present for long. The hotel might appeal to guests who have stayed here for many years and are already familiar with it. I requested an upgrade, but was told the rooms were fully booked — even after giving them two extra days to check again. In the end, there was also a leak in the bathroom, and a technician was sent early in the morning while we were still sleeping. They compensated us with a voucher for the inconvenience (special thanks to Isaac for handling it). Overall, I don’t think I would return to this hotel in London again.

Fantastic experience: My partner and I have stayed at the RL several times over the last few years and we feel our experience gets better each time we stay. Staff are attentive and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. I have previously requested the romantic room pack which added a lovely bespoke cake, balloons and decorations which were a lovely touch. We have been given complimentary room upgrades on each stay as well which is always a welcome bonus! Rooms are fantastic, very comfortable beds, pillows etc. The views of London and Hyde Park are unbeatable - you could spend hours looking out the window! En-suites feel very luxurious with plentiful toiletries and always cleaned to an exceptional standard before & during our stay. Breakfast is excellent, buffet style with lots of choice (with specific options to order à la carte if you wish). Location is very convenient with a taxi rank right outside with quick routes to Oxford street and beyond, and also Lancaster Gate central line tube station right below the hotel. Hyde Park is just across the road for a scenic walk if you wish. We will certainly be staying again, and would highly recommend RL to anyone looking to stay in London. We look forward to our next stay :)

Fantastic experience: The Lancaster was a superb place for our short stay. The location is perfect. So handy to Hyde Park, the tube and many attractions. We were checked in by Parth who was friendly and helpful. He orgsnised an early check in , which, after a 24 hour flight from Australia was greatly appreciated! The room was extremely well appointed and the bed could not have been more comfortable. Parth was again extremely helpful upon checkout and our stay at the Lacaster was perfect!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful luxurious hotel. I’d like to thank Ms Merve Kirman for her hospitality, she made our birthday special with a warm note and a wonderful cake suprise in our room. Bathroom, linens, whole room was spotless clean, we stayed on 10th floor and our view was really good. We chose standard room, it was a bit small since we have 2 huge luggage but we managed to fit in :) Blackout blinds and quiet nghborhood made us oversleep on our first day :) such a peaceful hotel. The breakfast buffet has a huge selection, you can also choose from A la carte menu but the buffet has fresh stuff that should not be missed! Lobby and room floors smell so nice and clean, all the staff is professional and smiling. Overall, will definitely stay here when we come to London. Lovely luxurious hotel!

Positive experience: Lunch and drinks in the bar - good service, nice atmosphere, wine was pricey (hey, it's London!) but very good and they managed my complicated order very well!
Positive experience: Great hotel!! Very high class and gives that feeling when you walk in the front door. Not cheap! We had a great 2 night stay! My only beef was a simple late checkout request. I was in London for a conference that ended at 2:30 in the afternoon. That 30 minutes was perfect for me to walk 10 minutes front the conference location, to the hotel, quickly change and prepare for our next train journey. When I requested this, the front desk gave no thought to my request. The reply was an instant, "no". We are fully booked and yet me colegue, who was at the same conference was granted late checkout. This left a bad taste in my mouth. I had to leave my conference early to get my things done without the convenience of a room. Very disappointed!

Negative experience: When the cleaners here were cleaning, they deliberately threw a piece of garbage on the floor into my bag, and this garbage was already under this sofa when I checked in. It hasn't been cleaned for five days since I came here, and it actually appeared in my bag yesterday. I don't know what's going on. This kind of behaviour is immoral. Because of this kind of thing, I can't trust this hotel. I don't know if the bed has been cleaned, and if there are any other unreasonable behaviours.

Starting with check-in where the staff are polite, professional and well spoken to the check out, our experience with the hotel was exemplary. Fantastic experience: I stayed at this fabulous hotel for six nights. It was a 5 star experience. The room, the staff, the towels, robes, slippers, the water pressure, the individual room temputure control, electric shades/blinds. All the little details and comforts are well thought out and executed. Although there were two major events at the hotel during my stay, my room was quiet. Worth. Every. Penny. Fantastic experience: Great hotel, located right across the road from Hyde Park. Easy walking distance to two different tube stations so easy to fly around london. Rooms were quiet and well appointed, the bed was so cozy it was hard to leave. Great views over the park and the London skyline. Service was excellent. Seamless check-in and our room happened to be ready early which was great after a day of travel. Breakfast was a standout with an amazing selection of English and Continental options from the buffet. We also had a dinner at the amazing Thai restaurant on site which had some great fusion options to try. Would highly recommend this property and would be keen to stay again when i come back to London.

Fantastic experience: Lobby on arrival very nice and smelt fantastic. Kind staff at check in. Room did have a slight smell like it was an old smoking room but got used to it and wasn’t in the room much. Bed very comfy shower excellent and nice cold aircon. Nice and close to the park for a run in the morning and right on a tub station. 5 mins walk to Paddington. Very busy before 9. If you’re not in a rush go after 9am. Thanks will come back again.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the warm, genuine, and highly professional service – every member of staff made us feel welcome and truly valued. We were lucky enough to get the accessible room 1616 owing to my wife's disability which had the most stunning view of the London skyline. They were very thoughtful in helping us celebrate our special occasion with a complimentary drink and some nice little touches in the room. The facilities throughout the hotel are superb, immaculately maintained, and beautifully organised, making every aspect of our stay effortless and enjoyable. One particular highlight was the outstanding breakfast: an exceptional variety of options, each beautifully prepared and presented, ensuring a wonderful start to each day. If you like an Americano coffee let me tell you it's one of the best I have ever tested. The Royal Lancaster has a rare combination of elegance, comfort, and seamless organisation, and it gave our special celebration the sense of occasion it deserved. The bed, the bathrooms, the everything is just so excellent. You're right next to Hyde park Italian gardens and a short walk from the excellent restaurants in Queensway- what a location! We left with lasting memories and immense gratitude to the whole team for making our anniversary stay so remarkable.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service with immediate responses to any requests (cutlery, ice etc.) concierge desk was friendly and knowledgeable, and all recommendations were perfect. The rooms were beautiful, the deluxe view room offered an incredible view of London, including Hyde Park, Westminster Abbey, the London eye, and the Shard. Daily housekeeping service restored the rooms to immaculate condition every day. Very adequate gym. Absolutely fantastic stay!!

Fantastic experience: This hotel's location is conveniently close to the tube and just a short stroll from Paddington Station. Being right across from Hyde Park provided incredible views. The staff were wonderful, always attentive and ready to help. And the breakfast was a real highlight, easily one of the best I've had at an English hotel. The restaurant and bar service were also top-notch, especially for a relaxing meal and drink after a concert. I highly recommend this hotel and will book next trip to London!

Positive experience: Great location by Hyde Park and close to Paddington. Staff are polite, rooms small but standard for London. Shower excellent, Jo Malone toiletries a bonus, and dinner at Nipa Thai was superb. We stayed on 17th floor and the views are spectacular. Breakfast was a letdown: excellent choice of food, but toast and milk frequently forgotten, coffee going cold and basics missing. Having to ask repeatedly for things definitely isn’t a 5-star experience. Only on the third and final morning did it run smoothly. The air con failed for a full day including overnight which was a tad uncomfortable, but the hotel handled it well with an apology letter, wine, and fruit, and an offer to change rooms. No issue there. The real disappointment was a hidden 5% “service charge” (£54.30) taken four days after checking out, despite being told the £300 credit card hold would be refunded in full. WE SPECIFICALLY ASKED THIS AT CHECKOUT and the gentleman assured us that “Yes that will be refunded immediately.” When I queried the extra unexpected charge, the reply came that this is “as per confirmation”; I’ve looked through all my confirmation emails and can find nothing about automatically charging a tip. Is it squirrelled away on some form you sign when checking in? Or at the bottom of a webpage? Requesting a tip is a pretty standard thing, BUT WE WEREN’T ASKED. If it’s entirely optional, why did the hotel charge it without asking us directly at checkout? Surely that’s the time to enquire whether customers wish to pay a service charge? Optional or not, it wasn’t directly explained, which felt shady and dishonest. Overall: lovely hotel in many ways, but breakfast chaos and unclear billing dropped it from 5 stars to 3.
Fantastic experience: My boyfriend, Justin, and I stayed at the Royal Lancaster Hotel from June 28 to July 5, 2025. WOW - just wow….we have not stopped talking and raving about how amazing our stay was at The Royal Lancaster Hotel! Right away, upon arriving at the front door entryway, the warm and friendly service begins. Each and every doorman was approachable and friendly; so easy to have a lighthearted chat. And they always, always, offered to hail a cab or offer suggestions for any outing. Checking into our stay was easy and the staff made it a smooth and welcoming experience. We felt very welcomed! We flew across the Atlantic Ocean from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, and then had a drive in from Gatwick Airport, which took just shy of two hours at the time. Needless to say, we were pretty tired once we arrived. We were very thankful to have had such an inviting welcome after our journey. Our room had a gorgeous view over the Hyde Park Stables area, as well as some of Hyde Park itself. It was such a comfortable room: the AC was perfection, considering we were there during a rare heat wave at the time! After exploring the city and returning to the room and the cool airy comfort it offered, it was like heaven! The bathroom was roomy and well-lit. The shower was extra refreshing, too, with the strongest rain shower head I've ever showered under - it was awesome! A couple of our main highlights included the unbelievable breakfast buffet at the Park Restaurant, the Park Lounge bar/restaurant, and Nipa Thai. All of the food we had was visually appealing and consistently delicious! Room Service was also fantastic! We are still talking about the breakfast buffet with our friends and family. Neither of us had seen such an elaborate array of options, from hot to cold, continental to traditional…and beyond. It was something we looked forward to when we got up each morning! The service in the restaurants was second to NONE. I want to shout out our favourite Server that we were fortunate to see almost every day in Park Restaurant - Ayksa! From the first morning we met, she was pure genuine, friendly, helpful and simply just so cool! She made us feel so at home there, and whenever we get back to the Royal Lancaster (it’s a ‘when’ and not ‘if’), we hope we will get to reunite with Ayksa at breakfast! The Royal Lancaster Hotel needs to be on your list of accommodations to look up, and hopefully book. Given the quality of service, food, amenities, staff, and location, this beautiful, modern and classy hotel, in our opinion, is a total MUST! 5x+! ~ Heather Dominie & Justin Dove Summer 2025

Fantastic experience: It been a few years since I’ve stayed at the Royal Lancaster, and I was welcomed back like an old friend. The location is superb, right next to Hyde Park, making it ideal for both exploring the city and enjoying peaceful walks. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, with a wide selection of international options that cater to every taste including dim sum, amazing veggie options and perfectly cooked traditional breakfast options including the most incredible Cumberland sausage. My room was spotless, comfortable and equipped with everything I needed. The attention to detail in cleanliness and amenities really stood out. What truly makes the Royal Lancaster exceptional, however, is the staff. From start to finish they were warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Reception, in particular, made both check in and check out an absolute pleasure. Their service set the tone for a brilliant stay. I would highly recommend the Royal Lancaster to anyone visiting London.

Positive experience: Great location- a very short walk to Paddington Station. Started our trip on level 8 but upgraded rooms 2 days in to a room on the 10th floor. Unfortunately it was hardly an “upgrade”. Rooms are small (to be expected), but the closet was tiny and nowhere to stow a suit case. Breakfast was great. Employees are very nice.

Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience during my stay. The cleaning service is very poor; they don’t clean the rooms until 3 PM, which is quite late. When I called the operator to complain about an issue, they abruptly hung up on me without any apology or even saying goodbye. Additionally, the room rates are very expensive compared to the size of the rooms. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Fantastic experience: I stayed for 5 nights when I visited London for Sprint break. Staying in Royal Lancester was undoubtedly the best experience of our trip. From the time Uber arrived until I left the hotel hotel staff took care of everything. They help even with the shopping bags. During checkout, they asked me for my travel details and arranged everything for me even without asking. I had to wait for 3 hours in reception as I had a lot of time after checkout for my flight. They took care of my luggage, booked a taxi and when taxi arrived they boarded everything and then called me. The rooms were clean and tidy. They were also modern. Hotel also ensures sustainability is part of everything they do. The breakfast at the hotel is unlike other places. I am a vegan and I don't find much options in the breakfast buffet at many hotels. I was surprised to find the large number of vegan options in the buffet. Pita/hummus/vegan yogurt/chia seed pudding/ fruit salads. This was the first time I had a filling breakfast in a hotel. 24 hours in-room dinning is another feature that I absolutely loved about this hotel. The options were huge, food was tasty and service was exceptional. I will be always staying in this hotel every time I visit London. In fact, I should plan a trip to London just to stay in the hotel. I miss staying in Royal Lancester already.

Fantastic experience: Booked in for breakfast heading back to the railway station. Staff at the door and in the lobby were super friendly. Maitre’d at the restaurant was also very helpful and recalled speaking on the phone to make the booking and did her best to get us a good table overlooking the park. Customer service staff in the restaurant weren’t as attentive as we expected considering the location but the food options were expansive and plentiful.

Fantastic experience: We had nice time at this location staying for 6 nights. The location is great giving you access to lots of attractions including short walking to Hyde Park. Our room was smaller than typical 5 star hotels but could be reasonable London! Breakfasts were typical with friendly servers. The reception desk staff, specially Nikoo, were really kind, helpful and fast. They don't have 24/7 room service but when we needed assistance later at night, they were quick to help us.

Positive experience: We recently stayed at the Royal Lancaster and had a wonderful experience overall. The location is absolutely perfect—right next to Hyde Park and just steps away from Lancaster Gate station, which made getting around London super convenient. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with a sleek, modern design and a luxurious lobby that sets the tone from the moment you walk in. The staff were friendly, professional, and always happy to help. Whether it was recommending a nearby restaurant or arranging transportation, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The only thing to note is that the rooms are on the smaller side, especially if you’re used to more spacious accommodations or traveling with large luggage. That said, they are thoughtfully designed, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything you need—comfortable beds, a well-appointed bathroom, and high-quality amenities.
