Fantastic experience: Omfg recently they updated the crib and might now be the best gym in Uckfield it's sooooo good get a membership

Negative experience: The best part is that it has more to offer than just a gym, the staff are friendly but the major thing wrong, is the price. If you only want a day pass for the gym it’s £15 which is more than half of what my membership costs where I live. Not only that, the equipment is outdated, they have one lat pulldown machine and the handles are falling apart. Anytime fitness offers better equipment for a much cheaper price. If it was manned when I needed it, I would have gone there. If you could pay a normal price just to use the gym then it would be okay, but until they sort out the equipment, it’s not worth near £15 for a day. Never will be. In reply to your message, I believe most gyms are members only but they don’t have a day rate of £15. I go with a friend to his gym occasionally which is a better gym than mine and isenhurst, it costs £10 for a day. I understand that you have all the extras but what about people who don’t use them or want them? Why would it be such an issue to have a gym only membership or a gym only pass. The equipment has gotten better but the amount still stays the same and that’s not going to change because of the size of the place. I’m not saying I dislike the place or anything that you have, it’s just not worth the price unless you want all the extras and use it atleast 4-5 times a week. I’ve now cancelled my membership because I don’t know if I’ll be able to go 4 times a month minimum. Even if I can I can’t justify spending £57 a month to use it barely. Overall, not worth the money unless you use it all.

Positive experience: Nice pool. However wasn't best impressed with the uncleanliness in the changing room was dirty the bathrooms were not much better. Around the pool there were obvious areas of hair and dust I really wouldn't recommend going in the showers without flip-flops they were not pleasant. The amount of the chlorine in the hot tub seriously needs looking at. There was so much to the point that it stang your eyes and it should not do this.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly service, great selection of equipment, and large open areas to walk around and exercise. It was nice to see a selection of protein bars and shakes at the front desk. The changing rooms, lockers, and shower areas are large and spacious. Definitely worth the money compared to other gyms in the area.

Negative experience: I never wrote a negative review but unfortunately this time I have to. At this gym the machinery is limited, and most of the time you wait in line also, most days dust is measurable by hand! In an environment where you move and breathe a lot that's definitely not good. They present some nice pictures on their website but after a good look inside the difference is clear. Also, in comparison with other gyms, the option of 'pay monthly', no contract, comes attached with 1 mount notice. So let's say that you have to move, you will still pay another month without using their services.

Fantastic experience: Friendly place, never too busy whenever I've been. I mainly use the pool, because it's warmer than public swimming pools. Changing facilities are always clean and warm. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: It’s a good gym with a good range of equipment but they need to add more natural light or light in the swimming pool it’s very dark and that’s not good, it would also be great if they could hire someone to monitor the pool area as there has been a couple who get a little bit to touchy feely in the jacuzzi and the pool. And the floor can get grimey. But overall staff are friendly and the gym has good facilities, little pricey though.

Positive experience: Good gym & pool. Changing rooms can be a bit grubby at times. The sauna has been out of action for over a week. The steam room wasn’t steaming very well & floor was quite dirty. The jacuzzi had some sort of grit on the floor in the corner so felt grubby too. Shame because it is a nice place but could do with being cleaned a bit better.

Fantastic experience: Fab pool, good depth (same all the way along) not too busy. Sauna and Steam room nice, tidy, eveyone is very polite. Jacuzzi is a long square you can enter either end, that makes you feel like you're at a Roman bath house. Very hot! Didn't use the Gym facilities this time.

Fantastic experience: Loved our visit to the gym. We were visiting family and wanted to get a couple of work outs done together. They should extend the gym floor and remove the waiting area and the whole Place needs a deep clean/lick of paint/and some tlc but a great vibe and great equipment to work out with.

Fantastic experience: Has to be the best gym in the area. Very well priced with very well stocked cardio and strength equipment. All the facilities are smart, clean and well maintained throughout the day. I typically go early morning around 6am and it is never oversubscribed there is always little to no wait for equipment. What I do especially like is that despite being a large gym it has been laid outside no matter where you are you feel in your own smaller area. Also the equipment hasn't been piled in, there is good spacing around everything. Highly recommend if you are on the lookout for a new place!

Fantastic experience: The staff are incredibly professional, the classes and instructors are excellent, with a huge variety of classes to choose from. I feel really safe under the present circumstances, with good social distancing of equipment and other gym users, and teir strict cleaning regime of equipment. If you are in need of some 'get up and go' for winter, this is the place to come!

Negative experience: The positives — gym equipment is adequate, fairly spacious inside. Benefits from a pool and jacuzzi. The negatives — parking has for some reason become difficult so cars are now littered on the pavement on the road. The vibe is very unwelcoming and the building unfortunately feels a bit dark and dingy. The worst thing about this gym however is how unwelcoming and unfriendly the staff are (apart from Steve who is a very pleasant man) the rest of the PT staff / front desk are just rude. You walk in and they look up to make sure your face matches the swipe in - but they basically just ignore you, not even a smile. Would benefit from an overhaul of staff who are friendly people. Overpriced. Am pleased to no longer be a member of this gym.

Positive experience: A good gym, with a variety of machines, plenty of space for free weights and body weight exercises, but this gym is let down by the changing rooms, pool and pool side facilities. The pool is dark with no natural light, the sauna is too small and the general feel of the pool room is not inviting.

Fantastic experience: Got a membership since about an year time. The place is really relaxed and the people who met in there so far are well cool. Definitely will keep on using their services. Would recommend it to anyone who want to get fit.

Negative experience: The gyms ok with plenty of space, bit odd that you have to supply your own lock for the changing room lockers. The soap dispensers in the changing rooms are often empty. The most annoying thing is actually the software on the equipment, the menus are confusing and on multiple occasions I've been locked on one screen unable to get to another, I paused a run to get a drink and stretch as I got back the unit had ended my workout and failed to save it online. Speaking of online that service has now ended so I can't see past workouts without using the app, this app suffers many usability issues such as the inability to edit sets when weight lifting you have to clear all then it doesn't let you type numbers in you have to scroll so putting in 10 sets of 80kg really eats into the time I have to actually workout.

Fantastic experience: Recently refurbished with a great selection of free weights, racks, cardio machines and a pool.

Positive experience: The work out facilities were a little dated and currently going under a remodel. The pool was amazing though. It had low lighting and soft music. It included a steam room, sauna and hot hot tub. I'm sure after the renovation it would deserve more stars, but I was only a visitor.
